Poudre Desir

Powdery, soapy iris-violet combo! along the line of Prada Infusion d'Iris- this is like it's more sophisticated sister. While Prada was pretty linear on my skin, After it's initial fresh burst of citrus-iris-violet, the iris somehow become more metallic (Hermes Hiris style) but greener at the same time. I like it. Drydown is the comfortable iris powder-musky-soapy fresh combo. very comforting for me.

Is there such thing as love at first sniff? I there is I have experienced it. I love sents that are powdery and soapy <3 I am pretty fixated on how the bottle fits the contents and in this case it is perfect. Elegant, a little old fashioned, and clean but not lika a sent from Clean.

Scent of the graceful woman, adorned with elegant makeup, always wears meticulously styled dresses, paying close attention to the smallest details. Her signature scent features a dominant powdery note with a hint of jasmine — lightly sweet and fresh, sensual yet refined, with a classic and sophisticated character. I enjoy the refreshing sensation when it’s first sprayed, but later the scent becomes quite intense and overwhelming for me. Personally, I tend to prefer lighter and more natural fragrances.

Poudre Desir is very mood-dependent to me. When I'm not in the mood, it's is a grave and quite heavy affair – dry, pink, and powdery. When I am in the mood, however, it's almost the opposite – bright and cheerful, yet grounded. Regardless of my mood, though, I always connect Poudre Desir to a Susan Cain quote; "The quietest people have the loudest minds". Poudre Desir is that. It doesn't speak loudly or crave attention, but it's attractive, intelligent, and hard to miss.

I got this perfume via Parfumado (monthly subscription) and it's okay. Slightly boring, definitely powdery and safe to wear during office hours.

I expected a lot more powder from something with that word in the name, but this is a creamy, makeup scent with very little powder on me. Since I usually dislike powdery scents, it was a risk for me, but I adore iris, and when I saw this referred to as a modern take on Apres l'Ondee, which I also adore (vintage is by far the best way to sample that one) I had to try it. I am pleasantly surprised. I do get the mood of Apres l'Ondee vintage: A lipsticky iris blended watery with fresh bright violet. Poudre Disir then mellows much warmer than AlO into a vanillic flower comfort blanket that I really like. It’s feminine and a bit girlish on me, but lacks the super powder I expected. The vanilla is almost incense under the soft warm floral notes. Yeah. Really enjoying this one. As my current other favorite is Amouage Interlude for Men in all it's tarry, dark, rotten-wood, oregano glory, this was a real surprise. Lovely, truly lovely.

I am a terrible reviewer, never seem to find the words that do justice, but this is an easier one. Here we have an Iris blended into its absolute perfection. Poudre Desir is a masterpiece of olfactory art an absolutely elegant scent. A cistrusy start leading into a creamy and powdery Iris blend. Sometimes Irises have the bad habit of turning buttery on my skin, but here the Iris maintains its clear creaminess. Atmosphere: Late summer afternoon in the parc, a light breeze is dancing with soft colored chiffon. There is the lightness of true perfection in the air, without getting loose.

This has boutique Chanel perfume collection base. I think it’s the muscs. For me it’s the cross between 1957 Chanel and Iris de Syracuse by Boucheron. Iris, lavender, heliotrope and muscs are the most prominent. Beautiful, sophisticated and feminine. Classy and chic!

The iris smells earthy, like celeriac, but is made pretty with white florals and made cooler and brighter, rather than sweet and powdery, with bergamot. Elegant, unusual.
