Smoke. That is the first thing you should take into mind before sampling this fragrance. So many notes hitting you at once. While plentiful, never muddled. Is it floral? Is it fruity? Is it musky? Spicy? Oudy? Clean? Dirty? Mossy? Yes. All of that, and some rich smoke. I struggle to find the proper social outing to wear this, especially in a warmer climate, although for a really Smokey fragrance, it’s really easy to wear. This is full bottle worthy, without a doubt.

Very much a wow scent to me, full of smoke, oud, and Sichuan pepper. I absolutely love it and a perfect fall/winter scent.

Serious stuff here! Dark matter starts off with very dry, bitter smoke and castoreum top notes. Some time later more mellow, dark musky, but more spicey balsamic rather than animalic undertone starts to appear. I am not sure if I smell oud, and i wouldnt say DM is an oud centric composition. More raw honey, spiced buttery musk sprinkled with dusty smoky leather. It is a beautiful fragrance, it has obvious similarities with Prins Saringkarn, but DM is much dryer while Saringkarn has a strong flowery heart and fruity thai oud drydown. There is a lot to unpack here.

To me, this fragrance is a modern interpretation of traditional Arabian perfumery, featuring high-quality materials such as Bengal Oud, Maroke oud, wild Nha Trang agarwood, Dates, resins, Hojari Frankincense, Castoreum, Taif rose macerated with Sultan Qaboos Kashmiri deer musk, and vintage Sultan Qaboos myrrh absolute, etc. As a fan of Elixir, I can't believe I slept on this fragrance for so long. Dark Matter truly is a masterpiece🔥 💥✨️💫
