Bois Sacré by Élixir Privé A beautifully complex fragrance that leaves you wondering. I’ve been wearing Bois Sacré for a while now, and I’m still on the fence about it. Launched in 2020, this fragrance opens with a warm blend of myrrh, honey, and a touch of citrus, creating an inviting, almost sacred atmosphere. There’s an earthy depth from patchouli that grounds the composition and adds richness from the start. The heart of the fragrance is where it gets interesting. As someone who’s not usually a fan of iris, I was intrigued by how it’s woven into this scent. Here, the iris is soft, powdery, and balanced, not overwhelming. Paired with the unexpected twist of wild berries, it brings an element of freshness and brightness that contrasts beautifully with the heavier notes. The dry-down is where Bois Sacré truly shines. Moroccan cedar, cacao, and tobacco create a smoky, velvety base that feels comforting yet mysterious. The combination is both luxurious and grounded, giving the fragrance a lasting depth. I’m still undecided on where this will sit in my collection—it’s undeniably well-crafted and intriguing, but I’m not sure if it’s fully my style just yet. For iris lovers, though, this will likely be a standout. It’s a beautiful, complex fragrance that I’ll continue to revisit and explore further.

This has a nice fresh opening, but the mid is a weird combo : woody with powderiness (from the patchouli and cocoa). Unique but strange. Feminine leaning in my opionion.
