My Fifth Avenue

The first thought that popped into my head at first sniff was "Oh wow! I really like this!" Straight from the get go, you get a burst of freshness with the watery florals, citrus, and white florals. It immediately reminded me of Boucheron Quatre, one of my favourite perfumes. It's not a dupe, but it's very similar in the burst of fresh florals and citrus that evoke sunshine, happiness and effervescence. In fact I sprayed Quatre on my other wrist and while Quatre is just a titch more green there is a remarkable similarity. This is the type of fragrance that would wake me up and help put a bounce in my step on the way to work. Some may call it boring and generic, but I think the bright peppiness sets this apart from other florals that tend to dry down sans citrus and airiness. This stays light and refreshing throughout. OG 5th Ave was my signature scent for years in the 90's, and I sprayed some on as I test drove this flanker. While both are florally, I find that My 5th Ave doesn't share much of the DNA with the new bottle I have. It may be closer to the OG 5th Ave of yore but I suspect reformulations of 5th Ave has distanced itself from its own flankers. Sad.

They all share that same kind of clean, sophisticated feel. They're not overly trendy or flashy, but they're definitely memorable and luxurious! 🥰🥰🥰

My 5th Avenue is a lovely fresh aquatic fruity floral, just on *this* side of perfumey as opposed to shampooey, which, to me, is a good thing, as it seems a touch more elevated or elegant. There's watery lotus and a lot of sweet pear, some "ozonic" notes, sweet jasmine, and some cool green notes from the violet leaves. I spritzed some on last night, after my shower, and could still smell it this morning, 7 hours later, so that's some good longevity! I'm a big fan of aquatic florals (J'Adore, 5th Avenue, Champs Elysees, L'Eau d'Issey Absolue, etc.) and My 5th Avenue fits right in there, though it doesn't smell the same as any of them (it's more like a dupe of Ralph Lauren Woman, for sure). It's a very easy wear, a "dumb reach" perfume for me, that I wear all year round because it is just so fresh, clean, and pretty. Love it! :)

I'm conflicted about this. It's totally my type of scent and I do like it. But - there's something really aggressive, even harsh, about it. I don't think I can get past that so I won't be purchasing. ETA- after sampling this several more times, it has grown on me and I am going to order it. It's an altogether pleasant scent that is affordable and also office-safe. Bottom line is that I just really enjoy smelling it on myself. Edit # 2 - Jan 2023 - so this eventually became a real favorite of mine and I put a very big dent in my 100 ml. bottle. Unfortunately however, I've noticed over the past few months that the scent is deteriorating. Not exactly turning, rather breaking down,losing some notes and complexity and becoming harsher and more astringent. I'm really sad about this because I really like this scent very much.

I cringed so hard at the people that voted and said that this fragrance smells like J’adore. Like no honey. I own EVERY available version of J’adore (everything counting the body oil and everything else in between that and the Extrait De Parfum), and My Fifth Avenue smells NOTHING like any one of them. MFA is a nice fragrance. It is definitely very strong for the price, as I will definitely get a headache if I overspray. I doubt I would repurchase this anytime soon, because I only get spring and summer vibes from this one (meaning it might take me a couple more years to go through my bottle) I honestly will be surprised if it isn’t discontinued by then. There’s nothing spectacular or remarkable about this perfume. It’s just a nice fragrance from EA

I find this to be easy to wear and it makes me happy. It's slightly ozonic in the opening and fresh, then I get a very nice sweetness that might be the pear, and then this soft powder, probably from the rose and musk. I just love it, I get a whiff here and there when I move my hair and it's one I really wear for me. I know I smell good and clean when I wear this, and it has the effect of making me smile. I think it could work anytime of day or season.

Siento que este perfume es muy parecido al essencial de Natura cuando recién lo aplicas. Tiene notas parecidas pero este seca más elegante y maduro. Yo lo tengo para ocaciones especiales y creo que es más para la tarde o noche, como para salidas especiales con amigas o familia. No lo usaría para una cita porque transmite mucha seriedad y pose. Me encanta para el trabajo también.

My fifth avenue smells identical to 5th avenue. I used to have both of them and I absolutely loved them both. Sadly I traded my fifth avenue to a family member for a different scent because I didn’t wanted to end up with similar scents and I ended up regretting it. Both the scents are sophisticated and you can get away with wearing it every day no matter the season.

LOVE the original 5th Avenue. My grandma wore it (and even though it reads mature, it's not a 'grandma' sent) and she got me into it. So I started looking into the others in the line and this one is my favorite. I actually prefer this over the original but I do love and own both. It's warm, cozy and sophisticated smelling. One of my all time favorite perfumes.

This perfume is seriously underrated. It’s like a modern take on classics like Dior’s J’adore or Chanel’s Gabrielle Essence. The opening is a bit sharp and citrusy, but the dry down is where it really comes to life. It checks all my boxes its fresh, feminine, warm and just really pretty. Very versatile and inoffensive.

I love this. I am not very fond of many of the 5th Avenue flankers, but really admire this one. The strongest note to me, apart from lemon an orange, is pink pepper, which is not listed above. it smells really sophisticated. And staying power is amazing. I am going to buy it when I see it online.

This smells very elegant to me. I think it's the pear that's really grabbing me. I usually don't care much for rose, but it's pretty light here. I'm not sure the search for my ideal perfume ends here, but I think this gets me a lot closer!

I just discovered this in a hidden corner of my local Dillard's and I LOVE it!!! It's fresh and perfectly balanced between fruity and floral.

It`s really fresh and nice. I love it. It`s one of my favorites.

I get white flowers with a little bit of fruit and musk. This smells pleasant and I can see the comparisons to Chanel Chance Eau Tendre, but this does not even come close to Chanel. My Fifth Avenue is a little heavier, a little bit more of a "perfume"-y scent which actually might be a plus for some people. For me, it just is. Neither positive or negative. I think I used 5 or 6 sprays from my sample today and I might have gone just a little bit overboard. It seems like a bit much, even though it does smell good. Next time I sample this I will spray less. The more I sniff my wrists in order to write this review, the more I really like this. So I won't write it off completely as "pleasant but wouldn't buy". Maybe I would actually consider a bottle of this if I found it for a good deal. Time will tell!

perfumey fruit creamy slight bitter (good) edge a blurredness to it - not juicy crisp type of fruit a 5th avenueness in the undertones is it musky - not animalic, its not a celebtastic fruity --oh there it is - i catch the the aquatic ozonic notes on my jumper not my skin. not like the original theres a couple of other 5th ave flankers that are a bit useless on me - i cant recall which ones off the top of my head. this is better than the two that have poor longevity on me. dont care about the name - just the juice inside - the bottle is easy to handle and the sprayer is good. two sprays inner arm winter test. totally wearable, probably affordable E.A usually is, ill take this any day over juicy couture

There's something very nostalgic about this. I normally steer clear of white florals because I find so many of them headache-inducing. This one is actually quite lovely. It's fresh, clean, inoffensive. If it were any 'louder' about its white floraliness, it would be an absolute nope, but as is, a lovely friendly waft of quite elegant floral with a touch of warmth and sweetness from the amber base. Not necessary something I'd buy a full bottle of (got a sample in a monthly subscription box), but, I dunno, one for my clothes drawers to freshen up, or for a hair spritz after exercise or something. Really... pleasant... some may read that as 'boring'... it kinda is, and that's kinda what I like about it.

This is a great take on the classic Fifth avenue, they've managed to update it to make it feel new and relevant. I was so sad to see Untold discontinued, I don't think this is as good, but it's similar in some ways. A clean, fruity opening is followed by a definite mix of floral notes. The base is a floral musk, it's an ultra soothing fragrance, perfect for day wear. Once again the curse of branding. Poor Elizabeth Arden struggle to escape the old lady tag, I'd argue performance on all of their fragrances is better then many of the big name houses. I love this fragrance, and love everything about this house. Love it.

This is a very pleasant surprise .The addition of musk and cedar add a new dimension that is a bit more hip to the classic scent, and it blends nicely . I think it is one of the better recent releases and will probably buy a bottle. Elizabeth Arden produces many celeb scents like Elizabeth Taylor , and Taylor Swift. It amazes me that the Arden scents usually have superior sillage and longevity than Chanel , Tom Ford , And Dior , as of Mar 2019. I have bought a few this past year and have been favorably impressed with performance of the perfumes.

This is one powerhouse of a fragrance, for such an inexpensive fragrance, this packs a punch. Two notes really stand out for me, pear and tuberose. Very much a white floral, but there is always a fruity undertone. I do get glimpses of J'adore and the original 5th Avenue, it's almost like a blend of the two. Lasts ages and projects very well. I had to return the first bottle I had as the atomiser didn't work, happily the replacement is fine. Another cracking Elizabeth Arden fragrance.

Very nice. I have a few of these 5th Avenues and most of them are very classy and sophisticated scents and not terribly expensive. My 5th Avenue is very floral, pretty and feminine. I don't get aquatic from it but maybe a hint from the lotus. I bought a sampler set so I only have 7.5ml of this one and I think I may need to buy a full size. This works any time of year and while it's certainly good for daytime, I think it can pull off an evening out just fine because it is so classy.

Fresh citrus fruity floral to start. Soft white floral heart with just a hint of sweetness. Not picking up a lot of woodiness. Elegant. Sweeter than EA white tea and white tea flankers. Agree with previous reviewer - it is reminiscent of Marc Jacobs Daisy. Trying this in winter. Have a sample which I will be trying out this week - will update! Am liking this so far. *Update* It’s lovely and I do like it but I’m not super into white florals at the moment so won’t buy a full bottle.

My Fifth Avenue shares the same vibe with Estee Lauder's Beautiful Belle. But I like this more than Beautiful Belle due to my skin chemistry reaction to both perfumes. My Fifth Avenue is obviously 50% more cheaper than Guerlain Idylle, another my daily use perfume. There's one Elizabeth Arden counter at a shopping mall near my office, while for Guerlain, I to drive to the capital on Sunday early morning to avoid massive traffic jam.

Your typical soapy white floral. Clean, musky, bright, and floral. Jasmine dominates of all the floral notes but this is still a bouquet of white flowers. It can be quite generic, but that just means it is quite mass appealing and safe scent. Really reminds of Dior's J'adore. Day time, neutral weather wear, leans toward the mature more. "Like".

This is a great scent, more sophisticated than the current Elizabeth 5th Avenue (which smells more of jasmine in my opinion). Longevity and sillage depends on the weather. On good days, I find moderate sillage and longevity on my skin with 4 sprays in my neck area.

It's a good one among Elizabeth Arden's scents. Fresh and clean. Quite elegant floral scent that is a really nice for everyday scent. I sense it as floral, lotus and jasmine are dominant in it. I would really wear it, I guess I keep that one in mind.

Clean and classy. Opens a bit creamy rich jasmine and lily of the valley. I smell narcissus too. It is a very familiar scent. The opening is better than it’s dry down but ultimately it is a jasmine/ while flower scent throughout. Not bad.

Lightly sweet, fruity, pink rose. Very nice & sparkly. Reminds me of Idole. Pretty packaging. Fantastic for Spring or Summer I should think. Suited for day wear. I think it would be pleasant any time.

Light, clean, soapy and inoffensive. Not the best longevity. Not memorable or remarkable. A fragrance that is good for when you are not supposed to be wearing a fragrance.

Begins with sweet white florals. I smell lily and rose. Somewhat shampoo-y. During dry down I noticed a bitter note for a while. I like this and will wear it again!

I really like this . It has tart patchouli and has a rather bohemian vibe for an Arden fragrance . It also lasts a good while and has moderate spillage.

lovely! floral, aquatic and citrusy to me. just border-lining on too mature for me (24 y/o) but not enough to stop me wearing it

I really like it, it is fresh and light, but the longevity is bad for a edp. If it had better longevity I would wear it a lot.

Hello dears ! Here's my long overdue comment on one of my favorite fragrances from Elizabeth Arden - a perfume and cosmetics brand that seems down-to-earth and rather reserved compared to other brands. Some of the fragrances' prices are ridiculously low. One reason, perhaps, why they don't get nearly as much reputation as they deserve. I think that this is a way to sell the fragrances below value. Now for the scent. For some time now, I've not been of the opinion that all the perfumes you like suit you and that you should wear them. They have to suit the type. It has less to do with age than with character, appearance ... If I may take yours truly as an example: I like things simple and classic. I refuse piercings, I don't want tattoos in my life and I wouldn't dream of coloring my hair in any extreme color. I usually put my hair up. Flesh tunnels and other horrors are of course out of the question, one ear hole per earlobe is enough, two or more are already too much for me. Furthermore, I wear my fingernails short and at best with clear varnish. Make up yes, but no colourful eye shadow or bright red lipstick or even false eyelashes. I like feminine dresses and skirts, also jeans and blouses, but also casual - not careless - things. You get the picture ? Would a loud "screaming", sweet scent fit there ? I think not. I go to work every day (well, not at the moment), I want to smell fresh and neat. For me the scent has to last for a whole working day if possible. I find all these criteria in the wonderful fragrance My Fifth Avenue. I liked it very much from the beginning, I didn't need to try it a few times to know This is it! That's what I want It suits me The fresh lemon and tangerine at the beginning, a soft jasmine-lotus note (the jasmine is reserved here), the fine musk and cedar wood finish. Violet leaf and ozone notes in between give a little spiciness or airiness. It is light, but with a relatively strong sillage (don't spray too much, I underestimated it in the beginning) and of a long-lasting nature - perfect. It is inconspicuously striking ... If that makes any sense ;-) Strikingly good, but in a rather inconspicuous way, I mean. It has class, but is by no means stuffy. In a word: Perfect. Perfect for me.

I so wanted to like this due to the Top and Middle Notes described on the pyramid and feedback here, but alas... The initial spray is good... promising, but the amber base note is so strong and piercing, I will never describe this as a polite/ gentle/ fresh perfume, nor well-balanced when the Base Note is so overpowering, especially when sprayed on skin. Strangely, with such strong Amberish base note, it has pretty weak staying power, it's all gone after 2 hours. Disappointing. The only way I can use it is to spray it on clothing/hair which avoids enhancing the Amber note.

I love 5th avenue, love Jador and Tender, love aquatic white florals and reviews are so positive, but unfortunately this isn’t anything I was expecting. There is some pinch-ish, bitter lemon, reminds me of the way lemon is done in Versace Yellow Diamond, which I had and end up hating. If this bitter note wasn’t there I would love it, but it bugs me. Drydown is nice, hopefully it will settle or change in warm temperature. It doesn’t remind me of Tender at all, Jador is more rounded and feminine.

Received a free sample of this one: At first spritz the sweet pear/white florals are prominent and you feel so youthful and life is so promising and then before you know it, it dries down and you are an 85 year old lady dressed in matted faux fur who frequents her local betting shop.

Nice, clean soapy white floral scent. Not my favorite white floral perfume because of the powdery soap scent, but if you like that scent, it would be a great everyday, work perfume. Good price, clean scent.

Mix tender chance with woman equal parts and you have my 5th ave.

I blind bought a miniature size of this and the original 5th avenue; was a disappointment. I expected a smell that's creamy and warm, but all I got is an old and dusty smell. I think it was the cedar/amberwood that made the smell especially old and dirty. I saw someone saying that this has a rich, creamy gardenia smell, but honestly I am thoroughly disappointed as this is nothing close to being classy like claimed. It's also not even close to JA'dore AT ALL, because I am a die-hard JA'dore fan so I know that line like the back of my hand. JA'dore is a lot more classy and clean than this. Smells like the type of scent I will get when I enter an antique shop (not in a good way). I guess EA's fragrances are just generally more suitable to women of age because I keep imagining my high school English teacher wearing this. Really glad that I didn't blind buy the full size...

I first received a paper sample of My Fifth Avenue and fell in love with the woody~fruity scent. I then ordered a 1 oz. bottle of it and when I received it I sprayed just once on my right arm. To my dismay it was overpowering and bitter, smelling nothing like the paper sample I'd fallen in love with. There is also a familiarity with some fragrances, such as Katy Perry's Killer Queen and Royal Revolution. My Fifth Avenue would probably wear better for me in cold weather. But I think I'll be returning it to HSN for a refund. I'm at a time in my life where I only want to wear what I truly love.

Well...I was given this. Glad I did not buy it. It will be given away. Seems to me they just pumped this one out, for the sake of having something, anything.." new". It is so forgettable! so in league witj all the same kak that is fruity, tangy.. for pop consumption. The original fifth ave is still by far the best. Thumbs down. Only positive...nice bottle

I have to agree that this is disappointment to me. Bought it under the impression it was fresh, light, and clean. To me, a 24 y/o, it smells heavy, outdated, and overall nauseating.

This scent smelled adorable from the bottle, and I had a lot of hopes because, though not a huge fan of lighthearted florals, MFA looked like a very decent modernized version of the good old classic. Initially, I could tell that there was improvement in the sense that if original 5th Avenue started with a bit of a sharp lily of the valley, here, the aroma was well-rounded up. However, that's about it for me. The silage and longevity were almost nonexistent, the rather interesting mix of a clean musk and lotus vanished into thin mist of some barely-there citruses, and that felt like MFA had lost any traces of its originality, and I couldn't even catch a glimpse of what caught my attention initially. I do like the scent as it is straight from the bottle - it's lively, cheerful and fresh. But I simply can't get it work on my skin - even things like wearing a scarf that has faint leftovers of Amarige managed to push MFA out. Hopefully others will have more luck because I think the scent is really nice overall.

Fresh clean floral box-of-tissues scent to me or a really good high-end hair product. These may not be selling points to you, but I like that type of smell. It is comforting. I love the musk in this. I never buy EA fragrances but am having a second look due to the heavy presence of Reese W at that counter. I keep sniffing the card I sprayed MFA on, and I feel I must go back to try it on skin. Smells springish to me. Like another reviewer said, not outrageously priced either. Maybe some slight personality of Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet. I wish EA did not participate in animal testing in order to sell in China. Major bummer.

I definitely got a bottle of My Fifth Avenue because of lotus. I imagined a water flower, white, bright and happy smelling. Instead, to my surprise, My Fifth Avenue is full of STRONG jasmine and STRONG pears. It is a very intense floral perfume. Quite fresh, don't get me wrong, the lotus is there but compared with jasmine, it is so little. Just want to say that I truly believe Elizabeth Arden perfumes are worth more attention. The brand is struggling in the perfume market, and has been quite for a while so I think they came with a strategy to invest in longevity of their perfumes. EDIT: This smells like J'adore EDP!
