Sunflowers

This was a left-field buy for me this past summer. I was in Marshall's and this was on the shelf. I was craving a new fragrance to try, looked it up on here, and it had a lot of notes I enjoy (white floral - had recently understood I actually like jasmine if blended well, sandalwood, citrus, fruit). I took a huge chance because I am so picky with florals, fruit can't be too sweet, jasmine can't be too prominent (bug spray or mothballs are notes I get from some jasmine). I also don't like tons of floral perfumes, and wasn't even sure I understood what "yellow floral" meant but I had an itch to scratch so bought the large bottle for $15 (no small ones there). I opened it in the car, and sprayed my wrist. I spent the next two hours running errands and gagging - had to wash it off immediately when I got home. I absolutely loathed its too strong, old lady vibe. Put it back in the box, put it in a giveaway pile for Goodwill. Two weeks later saw the box sitting there and realized I hadn't given it a chance. Was bored, opened it, and gave it a second chance. I took a different approach and sprayed a hazy cloud and let it settle instead of a direct spray. Short story: I fell in love with this cheap bottle. It is a sunny "yellow" floral smell and I now crave it for summer. If I get a too concentrated spot, it goes back to too too too much, but sprayed indirectly it is wonderful. Truly happy smell. It makes me feel happier when I am down. So weird how fragrance works. This is my new summer smell when I want something bolder and happier than my usual Sun (Zents), which is mellow and laid back. So glad I reopened and tried it again.

i saw this in store last week, and didn’t get it because of some reviews on fragrantica called it a really sharp and strong perfume which i do NOT dig (and also because there was no tester out, thanks covid) But over the course of that week and this week, i could NOT stop thinking about this perfume. i even dreamt about it twice! (if you’re curious about the dream, i had one dream where i sprayed this perfume on myself and it smelled really good and the other dream was me buying it lmao) so today i went to the store again, said fuck it and just got it and, omg! i should’ve gotten this last week! this is happiness and sunshine in a bottle, it’s a beautiful soapy citrus scent, a bit reminiscent of baby wipes. In the best way possible! Not super soft, but definitely not sharp. I think it’s perfect! I can not wait to absolutely shower myself in this, and it just makes me feel really happy when i put it on. This was some of you guys’ signature scents in high school back in the 90s, and now it’ll be my signature scent in high school in the 2020’s :) if you’re thinking about getting it, just get it! it’s a cheapie but a goodie. For performance, it lasts pretty long for an EDT (i got about 6 hours out of it) and the silage is moderate :)

I have to admit that Sunflowers is certainly dated but I think that's what I adore about it. It takes me back to the 90s and for that I adore it so, so much even if it is "dated" and hasn't aged as well as other Elizabeth Arden fragrances. I feel like I am biased since I love peach, melon, orange blossom, literally all citrus fruits, aquatic notes, florals and amber/sandalwood. Sunflowers has literally all of these things lol That being said what I pick up on the most out of this perfume is the melon and bright florals. When I first spray it I already get a whiff of it from the lid/spray nozzle itself. It is very potent and I need to use a light hand otherwise it will give me a headache lol. That being said it's so bright and fresh and citrus upon that first spray.. It mellows out into those beautiful floral notes and has SUCH a delicious dry down where I can very much detect the melon and floral notes. The amber, sandalwood and musk base is just the cherry on top for me because I love all those base notes. It's just pure cozy for me I give it a .. 9/10 my only star taken off for the fact I have to be light handed with it or else it will make me sick lol love u Sunflowers but you're too strong!!! 🌻

Flashback to 1994: me & my girls roll up in the Iroc, we are geared in baggy Levi’s, Doc Martens or Dexters, a crop covered with an oversized flannel. We all have middle parts & wispy bangs, smacking Rum Raisin on the lips. The door opens you would smell Sunflowers before the cigarette, tequila, beer, and Big Red. I have decided to recollect my old collection, man I had all sorts memory flashes as I test stripped. I still love this, it smells so good. It evokes the best olfactory memories. I was 21, falling madly in love with my future husband, working hard, playing harder...independent. I never knew how many notes were in here. I find it interesting that I am still drawn toward some of the same notes in my current journey. Now I am gonna sniff until I can pick them all out. This is fresh, fruity, floral, and a lil woody. It smells as vintage as it is. It is still around for a reason, it is loud bordering obnoxious( just like me). I stopped wearing because most perfume became cloying to me, made my eyes water, & sneeze. I will have to be careful when I wear it, but I’ma gonna. I am gonna enjoy some layering too, as to smooth the sharpness a lil. Very much still a beautifully done fragrance. 10/10

This was one of my first perfumes i ever owned and was a signature scent for me in middle/high school when it was newer to the market in the 90s. I purchased a new bottle recently to rediscover that sense of nostalgia and it is still a love. It does smell slightly different from the original, I'm sure it has undergone reformulations in 30 years haha. But this fragrance embodies a summer-autumn warm floral and like others mentioned, what you would envision a sunflower field to smell like (even though the sunflowers themselves don't have a specific smell). I'm a little surprised by the scent pyramid as the fruit notes never struck me as being uber present or this being categorized as a fruity fragrance. I always got a fresh, uplifting ozonic floral with a woody-amber base with a touch of powdery musk in the drydown. It can be a little strong and overpowering, 1-2 sprays is more than enough for me and it does have pretty good projection. I'm glad that this is still manufactured and the prices are amazing to snag a large bottle of 90s nostalgia. I would still recommend this as something for any fragrance collector or 80/90s kids to add to their collection.

I have the body mist but since that isn't on here, and I assume it smells the exact same... I don't like aquatic florals. I love powdery vanilla's and woodsy sweet scents. There's nothing in this perfume that I normally like, and yet I do. I don't understand. I love to wear it in summer but even walking past the bottle in the dead of winter and catching a little whif, never fails to bring a smile to my face. Wonderful little perfume Edit Because I see I have not really given a discription of what it smells like to me. Maybe because it is somewhat hard to describe. It's sunflowers, but it's also so much more. It's almost a feeling, or a vibe. For the same reason so many people love to wear it with a sunflower outfit (guilty) I suppose. So what I'll do is write down some words that come to mind when I smell it. Sunflowers. Summer. Happy. Sunscreen. Shaking your freshly washed, still damp hair in your face. Being in love. The 90's. Making a daisy chain in a flower field. Bath pearls. Nostalgia. Fresh bouquet of flowers. Summer dresses. A straw hat. Sipping camomile tea and honey while listening to Like a Star by Corinne Bailey Rae.

Honestly, my most complimented scent, which is mind blowing to me given its price point. People tell me “You smell like sunshine!” or “What IS that? It smells amazing!” When I tell them I either get “Oh my gosh, I remember that. I’d forgotten all about it!” or “You’re kidding! I don’t remember it smelling that good!” So either it’s amazing 30 years later or it works with my chemistry and personality. Doesn’t surprise me in the least that the nose behind this is also behind my other favorite fragrance, Black Orchid by Tom Ford. Two fragrances that couldn’t be more different or opposite but that I love equally well. One is my spring/summer scent, the other fall/winter. Love this stuff. Liquid sunshine. ETA: The cashier at Walgreens tonight said, “Not to be weird, but whatever perfume you’re wearing smells really, really good.” I told him it was Sunflowers from the 90s then realized that was probably before he was even born. So if it’s for “old ladies,” I think I’ve safely approached that era.

If the bright yellow-orange box with its hand-drawn sunflower and retro font didn't catch my attention, the copy certainly did. I bought Sunflowers because I was craving a simple summer perfume, and this more than delivered. First of all, it was only $16.99 at Winners. Second of all, the longevity and sillage are amazing! And third, the bottle is very minimal -- and very cute. Sunflowers smells like sitting on your backyard deck with a glass of cold melon juice on a hot day, after you've been out picking flowers. It's bright and sunny and refreshing; at once aquatic, floral, and fruity. There's something very '90s about it, and since the '90s are back in style, it's also very contemporary. In my opinion, you really can't go wrong with it. Wear it with a breezy dress or an oversized blouse and jean shorts, and sandals. Perfection!

Like so many, I wore this a lot as a teenager in the 90s. To be perfectly honest, it wasn't one of my favorite scents then, but I kept getting bottles as gifts because apparently people thought it would suit me. Don't get me wrong, I didn't dislike it, I just preferred "fresher" aquatic stuff that came in blue bottles. I picked up a bottle again about a year ago, more for nostalgia than anything else, and I found to my great surprise that I actually love this scent now as a middle aged woman. It's a soft, sweet, happy scent that somehow reminds me of what I wish my teenage years had been, as opposed to what they actually were. This is a very yellow scent indeed. I envision an early summer morning, sitting in the garden among a sea of fragrant flowers, dressed in a flowy yellow dress, having a glass of lemonade and feeling the sun warm my freshly showered skin. This is what that scene would smell like. Happy, carefree and bright, just lovely.

For many people, this perfume is retro and reminds them of older ladies on the beach wearing sunscreen. For me, that's exactly the value of Sunflowers. Nostalgic and an uknown scent for the youth, since they've not experienced the optimistic sunshine era and 90s goodness. New generation really goes for normalising what we all took for granted. Smelling again this perfume after many years, I realised I had forgotten what being happy was like. A definite scent that easily transports you to another dimension. Great longevity at its friendliest price is also a plus. inspiration in words: "People have flocked to the beaches and everyone is happy. They enjoy every moment, doing all the summer activities and making new friends. Every day and every night is full of promise. You simply live, awake and with your consciousness unclouded. There are no burdens, no commitments. The pace is human. You are allowed to breathe".

Today I looked under my vanity and forgot I had sunflowers so I decided to wear it! It’s a very clean perfume that reminds me of a bubble bath. Whenever I wear it I sometimes layer with cucumber melon or gingham and my mom always says “you smell like you just took a bath” but it really is the truth! I’ve smelt other bubble bath type perfumes but for some reason this one just reminds me so much of it. The fruits aren’t sweet and I get a lot of florals and definitely get the cyclamen. I’m a fan of cyclamen notes cause it gives it such a nice watery or even dewy smell to anything that it’s in. Sunflowers also reminds me of how flowers smell after a rain shower in the summer kinda smelling very nostalgic especially since my house always had a ton of flowers in the yard. It’s a strong perfume for sure but has a good longevity and projection and is just a classic!

I enjoy the nostalgia Sunflowers brings me more than I enjoy the scent. The florals are a bit screechy and I've never been a huge fan of melon in perfumes, even when it was "the thing" in the 90s. This scent was very popular at my middle school, along with Clinique Happy, and to me, they are in the same category. Cheerful & high-pitched semi-aquatic florals like freesia, along with some citrus and melon. Enjoyable in small doses (and on other people!!) Though this will never be a favorite, I am nevertheless glad to have this in my collection. Great for traveling back in time or when you just need a Vitamin C mood boost in the dead of winter. I have to make a post-script because my my nose changed and I can appreciate this properly. I don't reach for this often but it's 10/10 when I do. Pollen-yellow and pretty. Uplifting and kind 💛

I've owned this for just over a month now and I absolutely adore it. Initially I got it solely because I wanted a simple but lovely summertime fragrance. I love this so much. It's literally summer in a bottle in the most 90s way possible. The opening of peach, melon and citruses is so gorgeous and refreshing. I mainly get these top notes throughout the entire journey of this fragrance. I don't notice any distinct floral notes, instead it has a classic white floral heart to it. The dry down is lightly woody and musky. I also would highly recommend layering this with Revlon Charlie Blue, it's a gorgeous combination. Arden is an amazing fragrance house and especially their 90s fragrances (+ Red Door and Blue Grass!) are absolute classics.

This was my first perfume. It is nothing groundbreaking, but is warm, comforting, and suitable for a large age range (I felt very comfortable wearing this in my late teens and early twenties, but wouldn't stop there). I find it to be very long lasting. I love that can wear it casually in cool summer evenings, as well as throughout the fall and winter seasons. It is a simple, well-rounded fragrance. At first sniff, it simply smells pretty, without any distinguishable notes. A little more time with it, and I do smell a warm sunflower, with a bit of a syrupy texture (think a fruit cup with light syrup) in the best of ways. An amazing, affordable perfume that I will always keep in my collection.

A beautiful, warm, yet simple floral! A small amount of fruitiness, but not overly sweet. Reminds me to a degree of Gucci Bloom Profumo di Fiori, but not as a clone or a replacement. Just a warm floral. Smells like summer in a country garden. The simplest way to break this down, official note breakdown be damned, I would say I mostly get a very light peach, with some nectar/honeysuckle thrown in and my fiancé and I both like it a lot! Especially for Summer! It was $11 at Ross and from what I understand it’s also always available at WalMart for a comparable price. Albeit in a plastic body mist bottle. It’s super cheap, just get it to try it!

I got a bottle of this when I was little (2000's) and got another one recently. Although I can't exactly remember what a sunflower smells like, this smells like what one might imagine a sunflower field smells like. It's a surprisingly strong floral fragrance, but it's a realistic floral that feels like walking through flowers dripping pollen on a hot, sunny summer day. Once in a while I get a whiff of melon. This is too strong/floral for me to spray like I normally would (two sprays behind my ears almost knocked me out/made me sick) but I find that I can achieve its dreamy/ozonic effect if I hold my arm out and mist my clothes.

To be, it smells like walking into a greenhouse filled with fresh flowers that were just watered, but not in an overpowering way. It’s honestly one of my favourite scents. It also lasts super long. My boyfriend is actually the one who purchased it for himself, and he’ll spray some on himself right before leaving for work, and I’ll still smell it in the area he where sprayed it throughout the day. It makes me smile when I smell it :) I also wear it myself sometimes because of how nice it smells. As other people have said, it’s a scent you’ll fall in love with and that’ll make you happy just by smelling it.

This perfume really captures its theme. Even though sunflowers themselves don't really have a scent this perfume definitely makes you think of a sunflower when you smell it. It is a bright, sunny, happy, non-descript floral. I also get a fresh note that makes me think of tea. This is more prominent in the dry down but once you notice it you can feel it throughout the wear of the fragrance It really is an amazing perfume for the price. It is very cheap yet it really doesn't smell cheap. It also has good longevity and decent projection making it an absolute bargain.

From 1993. Yet this reminds me of family holidays in Mallorca in the late '60s when Magaluf had perhaps half a dozen hotels. Mediterranean flora, street markets, beaches, sun protection lotions. I think the women around the hotels and pools smelled something like this (unless my memory is totally failing me). Evocative, happy, warm and summery. I love happening upon it even today – which is sadly rare now. A pity, because this is a VASTLY nicer woman's scent than many at ten times the price. Better packaging and this would be really quite classy.

The chokehold this perfume had on me in 8th grade. I bought a big bottle for nostalgia purposes and idk why I stopped wearing this. It’s thick and juicy and optimistic. It is sunshine in a bottle. Definitely fruit forward anchored by a surprising dose of woods, using rose and white flowers as the glue. It’s so well blended, that I have trouble pulling apart individual notes. Spray lightly, this perfume is forever. I don’t find it dated either. I think it’s a safe blind buy if you’re sick to death of marshmallow gourmands and skin scents.

i made this account expressly to leave this review. i bought a full bottle of this perfume blind on a total whim. when it arrived i kind of hated it; it smelled reminiscent of baby wipes to my nose. but i wore it out today to give it a real chance and as i was leaving the house, the spring breeze picked up and i caught the scent of the perfume and i was able to make out the floral and fruity notes a lot more clearly and i really truly fell in love. i think it's all about context.

Sunny, happy, yellow perfume! I remember my grandmother wearing this and it being popular in my high school grunge days in the Pacific Northwest. I wouldn’t have pegged it as an aquatic with watery notes. It always seems so WARM to me. It lasts all day (16hrs), but overnight on the skin it does lose structure. I recently tried vintage Diamonds and Sapphires eau de parfum and I can see the relationship between the two. This is a big yellow nostalgic love!

Sunny, childhood memories in a bottle; that's what this is. It's a maternal, warm, cozy blanket that hugs and comforts you. When I close my eyes, I can almost feel the sun on my skin with this one. A scent children of the 80's and 90's probably smelled on a female family member during the summer holidays, as I definitely did, although I can't pinpoint who. A beautiful classic, that in my opinion have stood the test of time.

long time lurker, i made an account just to glaze this perfume. it’s that good. very warm and sunny, floral and clean. i don’t personally smell any fruit notes on me, maybe it varies by person. also this is suuuper strong, i can only use a half spray at a time. it’s my favorite out of all my perfumes currently, and very cheap!! it lasts a long time too. i can still smell it on myself after 9 hours of working. love

I’m from the “Sunflower State”. To me, this smells just like being in a sunflower field. I was surprised to see the new Gingham Glow at B&BW. To my nose, these smell very similar. Not dupes, but from the same family. Yellow florals were really big in the 90s, and it seems like they’re cycling back. I’m here for it! I’m all about the sunny and fresh scents that remind me of the cusp between summer and autumn.

This is so lovely and complex for the price. Maybe my associations aren’t from the 90s or mall culture because of my age. My first impression of this fragrance is in winter of 2026, when I am grasping onto anything that reminds me of sunshine. I could see myself wearing this all year. I find a lot of “summer” perfumes too sharp because of heavy citrus notes, and it’s nice to find something creamy.

It's a cold, dark, rainy day in my part of Ohio. Got in a fight with my boyfriend. Then there was a traffic jam and it took me twice the normal time to commute home. Feeling super depressed, really. Spraying and enjoying this is the best part of my day. It's like a warm hug from someone you trust. Just go easy on the sprays, 1-2 usually does the trick.

My Fiancée has this, I got it her as her favourite flower is the sunflower. This stuff is no joke amazing.. I can smell this on her all day.. and I mean ALL day. After she's been at work all day, as soon as I get close to her, I can smell it, it's beautiful it smells very similar to Issey Miyake at an absolute unbelievable price.

Sunflowers was my first perfume I ever owned, it’s an EDT, but may as well be an EDP for how intense and long lasting it is. Sunflowers is a very sweet, honeyed, orange blossom perfume, that, despite causing a couple of sneezes on the first few sprays 😂, is a wonderful choice for all seasons, spring and summer particularly

I love the smell of L'eau d'Issey on people but I can't wear it as it smells entirely of honey on my skin and is too sickly. So I used to wear the M&S Dupe Isis (rebranded Aqua) until they discontinued it. It was my go to hot weather / summer perfume. Sunflowers is the closest to this I've found and I'm very happy.

Sunflowers is my favorite Elizabeth Arden fragrance. It takes me right back to the 90s. Very nostalgic. It is fresh and floral (I hate florals, but this is one of the few I really like). It is just a great everyday perfume. I don't think it smells strong as it use too. But I actually prefer the new formula.

Pure sunshine in a bottle. Opens with a juicy and bright melon, a tart lemon, and a lingering citrus orange. I can smell a floral rose and delicate jasmine. There is a underlying sandalwood scent. The aquatic note make this a perfect summer scent. Bright, warm, and atmospheric. Alright longevity. 9/10

This is the scent my mom used growing up. It smells like her. It’s perfect to me for nostalgia reasons. I remember it smelling oily, like oily sunflowers. That sounds weird, but it’s the best way my younger self could describe it. It was such a warm and homey smell. Love it to this day.

This is SO pretty. It smells almost exactly like Orchid Eau de Parfum Caswell Massey...but it's not as expensive obviously lol. My mom has both and we tested it and on the drydown the only discernable difference is ...well ...I can't even put my finger on the slight difference tbh 😂

Confession I wore this in the late 90s. A fun time and a fun, sunny scent. After decades I got a new bottle for silly cheap and it still smells sunny and happy. This one should make a comeback. Doesn’t smell too specifically fruity or floral, more like a nice warm yellow scent.

Its smells melon and peach. Its lovely. Perfect for spring and summer. Its a fresh, juicy, youthfull, happy fragrance. You have to oversprayed and it will last around 7-8 hours with a decent projection. Its unexpensive, inocent, femenin fragrance. Its just juicy fruits!

Juicy and sweet and sunny- I really love her for hot summer and early fall. The 90s melon dna is a bit strong for my taste, but that hasn't stopped me from getting through nearly a full bottle. If I don't repurchase the og, I'll probably grab a flanker.

This is a light, beautiful floral fragrance. Sunshine in a bottle. This was my favorite perfume when I was in eighth grade. The summer of 1994. She is very nostalgic for me so I will always have a bottle in my collection, but I rarely wear her.

It’s crazy what you find yourself remembering or connecting scents to. For me, this is a twenty something female elementary school teacher in the 90s on the first day back at school. Lovely fragrance and a steal for the price.

I love it! It is literally sunshine in a bottle! Such a warm, sunny old school 90s perfume. So feminine and delicate. Yes, it is quite generic and simple, doesn't feel expensive but God how beautiful and pleasant it is..

Might be something wrong with my own nose, but this perfume smells like I bathed in honey. It is warm, with a very soft sweetness. I love mixing it with Pepe Jeans Cocktail Edition. Will Definitely repurchase.

I loved this as a teenager in the 90’s. I wore sunflowers and fuzzy peach perfume oil from The Body Shop. Oh, the memories! Wish they still had that one. I still think Sunflowers is a fun fresh scent.

I love this. I bought this for my mom (who isn't much for many perfumes, she has a sensitive nose but likes smelling nice) and she absolutely loved it. i love smelling it on her.

comforting sunshine- got it for the memories. Still exactly the same as it was in the 90s. The smell of this perfume and "Sun-In" hair products = middle school nostalgia.

Went through five bottles of this in the nineties. It has been long enough. I love it again. It was my signature scent when I was young. Still one of the best.
