White Tea

Expensive spa retreat in the rainforest vibes! It wasn't until now while I was perusing the notes that I realised just how all-embracing this fragrance is! I mean - come on - tea (obviously), fruity, aquatic, woody, floral, spicy, sweet, green, and resinous! I think we're missing 'gourmand', but tea is brewed for MAXIMUM consumption, so I think that's good enough. Tea is ace. I love tea. So, anyway, here's the... tea (I'm punny and I know it). This scent makes me feel rich and classy... and I can't imagine that's a mean feat for any parfumier. Kudos there, kiddos. I actually find this to be quite linear, but considering I smell so much and never feel overwhelmed or disappointed is fantastic! Those aquatic sea notes make me feel like I actually smell a little sea water. It mingles with this delicious sweet, beautifully green scent that smells so distinctly like a fern. I LOVE this fern note! GAAAARGH! It gives off a "spa retreat in the rainforest" mood. The white tea note makes me conjure up an image of myself slowly sipping on a cup of clear, i.e., white, tea in my hella-expensive terrycloth robe on the open window sill of this isolated retreat, gazing over the rainforest. I'm delighted to discover that clary sage is in this. Clary sage has a slight lavender scent to it making it SO COZY. The iris does provide an elegant, slightly powdery/cosmetic scent to it; also lending to the image of a classier me. The tonka bean adds warm sweetness and the woodiness adds depth to what could have been a very flighty scent. The longevity is moderate; 3-4 hours. Sillage does project a little, but won't fill a room. You'll leave a wonderful, calming cloud for your fellow (wo)man. This, and Jennifer Lopez's "Still" are the best tea scents out there - inexpensive, too, I might add. Many positives, Perfumites. Underestimate this at your own risk. *** Kitty rating: 8.5/10.

This beautiful 'clean girl' scent of Ivory Soap, tea and citrus opens with a transparent veil of sparkling mandarin that gives way to an earthy, soap & musk dry-down. Hearkens to memory the vintage 'Ivory Girl' marketing campaign. Comparison to Un Jardin Apres la Mousson Hermes: These are different but there is a similar vibe with transparent citrus opening for a 'shower-fresh' clean drydown The opening of UJALM is a little more citrus forward but with the same transparency of citrus. White Tea becomes a little sharper and soapier in the drydown. Comparison to Rio Glow Jennifer Lopez: Similar vibes with citrus opening and soapy/clean musk drydown. The opening of Rio Glow leans a little more fruity than citrus, with the recognizable 'Glow' drydown which to my nose is similar to the drydown of White Tea. Comparison to 4711 Acqua Colonia Mandarine & Cardamom: These are very different scents but the opening of White Tea has a soft mist of sparkling mandarin and faint spice that reminds me of 4711 Mandarine & Cardamom, however this isn't a citrus scent and the spicy citrus quickly fades away into the background although still present in the middle. Comparison to Ormonde Woman Ormonde Jane: These have an overall similar vibe and in the air the drydowns are pretty close to my nose, although Ormonde Woman doesn't have the mandarin in the opening - I would say 60-70% similar. Comparison to Jannet El Firdaus Swiss Arabian: These are different but have an overall similar vibe with the soapy greenness, although JEF also lacks the citrus and has beast mode performance. If Jannet El Firdaus is Irish Spring soap, White Tea is Ivory Soap by comparison. Overall: easy to like, easy to wear and perfect dumb reach for that 'clean girl' scent with above average performance, that becomes beast mode when layered over it's matching body lotion. Great value. 10/10.

I cant believe I never reviewed this perfume. I have gone through a lot of bottles. I discovered it in the summer of 2023. I have no idea how white tea smells like but this smells salty, like a salty sea breeze in the summer night. Its creamy and fresh at the same time, a scent I can inhale deeply and never get sick of it. I guess the amber and tonka base gives that creamy fullness, its such a full scent (I feel like some scents are kinda hollow and it makes them smell cheap). The freshness is maybe the tea and sage? There is some sweet mandarin too, but the overall perfume is salty, I guess thats the sea note. I use it all year around and its something Ill always repurchase. However, I think in winter it doesnt develop fully and I dont get that saltiness I see so vividly in the summer. I just wish it was stronger. Its super light and I smell it on me for a few hours but its very close to the skin. I do reapply it often and generously. I dont know which frag smells like this one but that is much stronger, Ill need to dig deeper. I thought Wood sage and sea salt from Jo Malone might do the trick but on my skin it smells sour, it cant compare to White Tea! Anyways, even tho its so weak, its one of the best fragrances Ive ever tried and nothing compares to it so far. Its a whole vibe. A summer breeze in the night, a bit cold that caresses your skin, thick creamy and fresh.

I am addicted to this amazing perfume (although I'm a massive lover of clary sage and herbal smells) !!! I wish it was stronger and longer lasting. It is a whole experience of spa-like welbeing and peace. In four words: Tea meets clary sage . If you dab some clary sage essential oil, you basically have this scent. But its a little more rounded with a hint of tea and iris and a subtle touch of something green and herbal. It is not sweet or floral, but more aromatic and herbal. If you think of the smell inside expensive hotels, luxury face creams, or the smell of a spa lobby, you can envisage the vibe of this scent. If I met someone wearing it I would assume they were not wearing perfume but instead, had a really nice lotion or soap or hairspray. Because it's clary sage based, it avoids the PVA-glue smell of some white tea perfumes. How does it compare to Eliizabeth Arden Green Tea: For me, green tea had poor sillage and longevity, and it didnt smell like tea - it smelled like aquatic notes and the 1990s sea minerals perfumes, with a touch of citrus. Whereas this one is refined and unmistakably herbal . The perfume does not really smell of white tea though, if you enjoy tea smells, you might want something else - this is a clary sage perfume and does not smell of white tea. There is a subtle smell of yerba mate, but the clary sage is the prominant note

I have never received more compliments than I have wearing White Tea. I don't know if it's my body chemistry that works with it or WHAT, but this is the only perfume I've owned that people stop me to ask about. It's light and feminine, the perfect daytime or office fragrance. It reminds me of running water. I don't get any soapy or artificial notes from it, and on me it lasts all day. It's a very clean and light fragrance that follows me without overpowering my coworkers and my boyfriend thinks it smells "flirty" on me, whatever that means. It's a great and inexpensive option for someone tired of all the endless vanilla/cupcake/gourmand/cotton candy smells out there and want something lightweight for all seasons. The amber and woody base doesn't pull through for me (I didn't even realize it had a wood/amber base until I looked up the notes) and it's sweet in a perfumed garden kind of way rather than a candy shop sort of way. I can understand the people that are comparing it to a "spa" kind of scent but honestly it feels far less overwhelmingly spa-like than a jasmin-dominant perfume does to me. As someone who usually goes heavy on an oud/amber/sandalwood style scent I wasn't expecting to love this as much as I do, but I find myself reaching for it when I just want a feminine pick me up kind of day where I feel cute. One of my all-time favs.

I really do love this... I can’t imagine this being a dislike for anyone. It smells like a clean white and bright spa to me in a modern building with big glass walls that overlook Swiss mountains or something like that (even though I’ve never been to one - but what I’d imagine one would smell like). It is aromatic but mass-appealing to me. I’ve seen it described as a ‘heavenly’ smell and I’d have to agree, it has an angelic quality. I’m likely being influenced by the packaging but it does smell like the colour white, pure and clean. If you want to give off ‘clean’ vibes then this is a great choice that isn’t just ‘bubble bath’ or ‘pure grace’. It is more complex than both of those but still just as comforting and lovely to wear. I bought this as a late teen and still love it, so don’t think this perfume has any age. Definitely one to try, you’ll fall in love with it whatever your face scent profile is I think. It’s timeless and beautiful to all. Also... It smells like an expensive body lotion, rather than a perfume as someone else mentioned. It’s something people would quickly pick up on as your signature scent, without it standing out as a ‘perfume’. It is soothing and comforting as others said and just relaxes me, hence the spa analogy. If you can get this, definitely do!

@samsara82 I understand that you don't like this perfume. You are entitled to your opinion and to express it. However, describing it as being "inspired by a victim of the Fukushima disaster" is a jaw-droppingly thoughtless and ignorant comment. I am not easily offended by ignorant remarks. The resultant tsunami disabled the cooling system of the Fukushima nuclear reactor in Japan; all three cores melted in the following three days, causing a widespread leak of radioactive materials and forcing a mass evacuation of the surrounding population. In 2012, 573 deaths in the area surrounding Fukushima were attributed to the disaster. People continue to be affected today and - possibly - for generations. So - which of the victims of the Fukushima disaster do you think inspired the creation of Elizabeth Arden's White Tea?

WONDERFUL! I cannot imagine my life without it now. I bought White Tea looking for a clean fresh fragrance. Overall, it does exactly what I want it to do and more - it’s clean, smells like a good soap (but doesn't smell soapy), elegant, refreshing, but not like a citrus water that disappears completely 2 minutes after applying. I can’t describe the scent, but it’s a completely different story to Green Tea. I don’t get that much citrus or tea, but the scent overall just works very well for me, you have to try it yourself. After I finish my small bottle, I will upgrade to a 100ml one. Although I can understand how people consider it not long-lasting, I carry it in my purse and reapply, got compliments wearing it. On me it lasts around 2-3 hours on skin and projects moderately. On clothes it lasts longer. That being said, although it’s a light fresh aromatic fragrance, it can give you a headache if oversprayed. Overall: big love, 9.75/10

This is underrated imo. Perfectly balanced and minimalistic, but it still manages to come across as a perfume vs a scent that smells like a well-groomed person. Inoffensive, crisp, and comforting. The tea, clary sage, and aquatic notes are most prominent to me, which gives it a freshness that doesn’t revolve around soapiness. I also pick up on musk throughout (likely the Ambrette which is divine in Mojave Ghost), which gives it a borderline unisex quality. I realized that the musk reminds me of the scent impression left behind after borrowing a man’s clothes. This undertone is very subtle and “innocent,” not animalic whatsoever. Longevity has been solid for me and it lasts well on clothes. If you like clean scents that still give the impression that you’re wearing a fragrance, give this a go. Great value and respectable performance. Ideal summer/warm weather fragrance and easy everyday reach.

If it’s for elderly people, then I’m an elderly person at heart☺️. 36F here, tried this two or three years ago, and it still beats a lot of niche and overpriced fragrances out there that I’ve tried and currently own. This is so clean with a light floral scent. It doesn’t have the citrusy sharpness that the OG Green Tea has. It feels softer, more enveloping, classy, elegant, like freshly-laundered hotel beddings and pillow cases. Sprayed this in my room one time, because I had visitors, and it upgraded up my room to luxe level. Wearing it again after a year, and my love for it hasn’t changed. This is something I don’t always reach for, but when I do it feels like a spa experience. It’s a treat, and as long as they have it in circulation, I will always have it in my collection.

Words can’t describe how much I enjoy this one ! It’s very simple but at the same time quite complex; it’s sweet perfume-y white tea with a salty, almost skin like background. Very refreshing for summer, very feminine and comforting to bed. It doesn’t have a monster sillage, but it’s still noticeable if you’re around people wearing it. Longevity is good, the price is too! If you need a quick pick me up fragrance that is still pretty and different, this is the one for you :) I’m not sure it would work out in winter but it’s perfect for hotter seasons or for relaxing in your own home. I would love this as a candle / linen spray / shampoo as it is very luxurious and spa-like, like some other comments have mentioned. Overall would recommend!

This frag is chef's kiss especially for a spring/summer scent collection. It performs well under humidity. The aquatic, citrus and tea notes are just combined so beautifully. If you love EA Green Tea (which I do), there's no way you won't love this. The tonka bean makes it so addictive for me. This definitely takes the cake as my current all-time favorite scent. This gives a fresh, clean, effortless and classy vibe. It's not trying to impress anybody. It's a great everyday scent in the office or on casual gatherings. I saw this on TikTok as a heavenly smell and I definitely agree. It also layers well with other fresh scents. Totally worth being a staple in my fresh scent spring/summer collection. Will definitely repurchase.

This was my very first perfume purchase when I got into fragrances. I remember smelling this on one of those test stripes in a magazine and ripped it out right away and held onto it for the longest time. I kept sniffing the test strip until I could no longer smell the perfume on it and finally went on one of those fragrance sites and bought a big bottle for like $30 I was obsessed with this fragrance for years until I got into other fragrances. I will always have this scent in my collection. It’s a beautiful clean white tea, light woods & musk combo smells very feminine in the dry down and perfect for any occasion and lasts on me ALL day. I think it’s a great blind buy or to give as a gift, it’s just one of those perfumes.

I blind bought this perfume on sale after seeing the notes, because I thought it would be similar to Hermes Un Jardin Sur le Nil, which I love but sadly has really poor longevity on me. Was really looking forward to a herbal, grassy, marine type fragrance but I can’t particularly smell any of these on me... Straight away I picked up on the amber, woody, powdery base notes to the point that it reminds me exactly like the dry down of Alaiia Paris, so was shocked there were no other references to this! Thankfully Alaiia Paris is one of my favourite perfumes of all time so I’m happy with the resemblance. It’s just nothing like the Un Jardin Sur le Nil style fragrance I was looking for but love it nonetheless.

I love Arden fragrances and have purchased several over the years. I always end up gifting some to loved ones because they smell similar. I promise myself I won't buy more, then I do : ) Arden's White Tea was a blind buy and pleasant surprise. A light hand is best because it's loud in the opening due to the mandarin orange, iris, and tea notes. It settles into a creamy and fresh scent that sits close to the skin. I got about 2 hours out of this scent on my skin. Spraying it on my top improved the longevity, but only by about an hour. I bought a small flanker that can easily fit in my handbag, in case I need a re-spray. Once it's done, I can see myself purchasing another.

This is not what I expected at all, but I am not mad at it. It's a fantastic scent, but when you are expecting a tea forward, soft and generic scent, it kind of takes you by surprise. This is quite unique for a perfume, feels very unisex to me. I do get room air freshener vibes, really does smell like the lobby of a fancy hotel. It definitely has an aquatic vibe to it, yet green as well with the fern. As well, tea scents are generally for spring/summer, this one can definitely sit firmly as fall appropriate. It's spa-like if the spa is at a woodsy retreat, not an urban day spa.

This is a simple yet beautiful spa like scent, that smells clean, fresh and just a little musky but in a good way. Definitely a skin scent that works perfect for the office, or everyday errands. Non-offensive and very crowd pleasing. As previously mentioned, this fragrance lacks longevity. But you can find this really cheap, so I just reapply without remorse. I am usually a gourmand lover, but with the extreme hot temperatures I cannot use my sweet gourmands, so I love wearing this one and also layer this with the Ginger Lily flanker (which is the only flanker I love).

This is sooo good! I have a wide variety of clean fragrances in my collection of almost 200 fragrances but this particularly one smells clean in a special way. Almost addicting. There's something about this that soothes my soul and make me go aaaahh after a long day when I spritz it before going to bed. The bottle fits the scent. White, pure, clean and green. This is perfect for anytime use. I can also imagine an impeccably posh woman wearing this while having tea with her friends. This is a blind buy and I got the 1.7 oz. Will have to buy a full sized bottle soon.

This is the first perfume that I ever got! When I first smelled it a few years ago, I absolutely fell in love. To me, it is a very fresh, aromatic scent that I think works well for someone of any age. The main notes I get in this are the tea leaves and aquatic notes, and I find the musk in the dry down to be very feminine and lovely. Fragrance is subjective, though, so you never know until you try it! My biggest complaint about this fragrance is that it does not have great lasting power. I am really excited to try the EDP version to see if it lasts longer!

The more i wear it, the more i like it! When i first purchased the perfume last year it smelled cheap to me, like a nivea deodorant, But now I can’t live without it! It’s the perfect summer scent for me! I live in a place where it goes up to 45 degrees celsius during the summer, and this perfume is my go to! It lasts for hours on me, and it smells DIVINE on clothes! It’s clean, it’s non offensive, and it’s unique. It’s a nice aquatic, aromatic and slightly sweet scent. I absolutely fell in love with it with time!💖 On my way to purchase a second bottle😉
