White Diamonds en Rouge

Another worthy flanker in the White Diamonds line--I like the soft raspberry and rose with the pink pepper--not too peppery, but just enough to make the slightly soapy rose/raspberry accord smell a little more tangible, if not exactly earthy. I really like the base notes, too. I have been sampling so many actual Middle Eastern fragrances lately that this doesn't smell especially "Middle Eastern" to me, but it does seem a bit more "exotic" than the other perfumes in this line that I know and like, especially once you get about an hour into the drydown. It's not what I'd call incensey by any means, but the base notes of patchouli, amber, vanilla, and vetiver collude to create a sort of mildly incensey effect somehow. It's not nearly as heavy or resinous as an oudlike note, but it's also not just a clean fluffy musk. I can pick up on the sharp herbaceous note of the patchouli and vetiver, and the vanilla is not the treacly cupcake variety, but more of the headier floral kind. I decided to put this one before sending some to a friend's mom in a sample decant--she loves White Diamonds and LouLou by Cacharel, so this seemed like it might hit at least some of the same buttons--and it seems like a reasonably safe bet. I have so many variations of rose scents--some jammier, some sharper and fresher, some with lots of green stems and citrus touches, others with more of a powdery potpourri feel. I'd say the rose in this one is fruitier, and it's not hyperrealistic by any means; it reminds me a bit of Turkish candies, a bit of a rose-scented plastic doll I used to love as a child, a bit of raspberry punch. It might not smell exactly like a rose on a rosebush, but it smells like a delightful abstraction of a rose, maybe like an expensive rose-scented candle from Diptyque, or an extra-rich and fragrant rose body lotion from The Body Shop or Bath and Body Works. I love all sorts of rose scents, so I'm more than cool with that. I might upgrade this one to a love, actually. It's hitting the right balance between the soapy white florals of Sparkling White Diamonds and the rose-spice-fruity notes of Diamonds and Rubies, a scent that I haven't warmed to as much as I hoped I would, despite the Sophia Grojsman factor (ordinarily a big plus for me). I'll give that one some more time (I change my mind all the time), but I think I was hoping for something like White Diamonds en Rouge all along. The longevity is always impressive, especially since these are all EDTs. The only ones that don't seem to hold up quite as long (even though I like them a lot--they're just different, softer fragrances) are the ones that aren't White Diamonds flankers (i.e., Violet Eyes, Forever Elizabeth).

I am pretty surprised that there aren't more votes comparing this to Lady Vengeance by JHAG. The rose and patchouli are incredibly similar, and even the berry note is pretty comparable. I think this is a little less aggressive (or maybe vengeful?) than Lady V in that it is a little sweeter and the sharp edges of the patchouli are sanded down a bit. It is still an assertive fragrance, but rather than being a mean bitch kind of scent it is more of a bossy (positive) bitch fragrance. I also think Lady V leans a little more unisex due to the abundance of untamed patchouli whereas the sweetness in the base WDER into more feminine territory--that is not to say that a man or someone nonbinary who loves rose chypres couldn't or shouldn't wear this! Quite the opposite, really. If you are someone interested in a classy, timeless, bold rose chypre without spending JHAG or even Diptyque money for Eau Capitale, WDER might be your girl. The rose note stays prominent throughout while the jasmine & berry burn off early on. With the first spray, this has a sort of lipstick-y quality, but after drydown it becomes rosey with just a touch of pepper & slightly sweetened patchouli. If the pepper wasn't there or the patch was toned down more, I think this fragrance would read more immature or basic, but since the prominent notes are developed, it comes across as a scent for a confident, sophisticated kind of person who still knows how to cut loose or drop an f-bomb when the mood calls for it. TBH I think this is what Lady Vengeance was meant to be, but in that era JHAG was trying to really push the envelope with making more truly unisex fragrances, which comes through more in the base of Lady V. Anyway, I do think that rose lovers, chypre lovers, lovers of classic Hollywood, lovers of patchouli, lovers of cheapies.... heck, everyone should try this. You can get it for next to nothing at the moment, but I wouldn't be surprised if prices skyrocket when more folks realize what they've been missing. This will be in my usual rotation from here on out. During the cooler months, this could work during the day or at night, and in the warmer part of the year I think this could be a sexy date/nighttime scent. This is a great tribute to Liz's legacy, and proceeds still go to a damn good cause. Don't sleep on this one!

White Diamonds En Rouge and I have a complicated history. I really wanted us to be besties at first sight, just as I am with everything else White Diamonds. Instead, it had to go into time out right away and I had to learn about having patience with inexpensive perfumes that are manufactured so quickly. At first I thought I had received a bad bottle. The opening was a nightmare. It was a cloud of rancid hairspray unlike ANYTHING I'd ever experienced. It was like En Rouge was breaking through the bathroom door with an axe like Jack Nicholson, screaming "HEEEERRRRRE'S EN ROUGE!!!" while I shrieked and cowered on the other side like poor Shelley Duvall, clutching my beloved bottle of the original White Diamonds for dear life. After airing out in a dark cabinet for four weeks it sort of blossomed, but into something entirely unlike anything related to White Diamonds. It became what I can only describe as a perfumey rose. The rose was obvious, but the rest was similar to the abstract, every-perfume frequency from the late 80s. Think of the "perfumey-ness" of Giorgio, but not a nice Giorgio. Instead, one worn by someone like Frances Schreuder. Appropriate for a murder trial or fleeing a hostile palace takeover? Perhaps, but surprising as it may be, neither of those are on my calendar often. Back to detention for two weeks. Then FINALLY, the rose completely blossomed. What started as a harsh perfumey slap lost its chemical edge and blended into a beautifully heavy, powdery rose. It's anchored by a distinct, earthy patchouli that gives it an expensive feel. Give it an hour or so to dry down and it melts into a spicy, powdery rose with a slight ripe fruit sweetness that is absolutely LOVELY. It reminds me of Diamonds and Rubies with less vanilla and no almond. When people hear rose and powder, they automatically assume old-fashioned. And yes it does have a classic quality to it, but it isn't dated. It reads as refined without feeling mature. I am genuinely shocked by how much I love this stuff. What initially smelled cheap in the worst way now smells incredibly unique and dare I say, expensive. You just need a little patience with the dry down. Give it an hour to settle onto the skin, and you will fall in love with it.

White Diamonds En Rouge! :))) There's a LOT going on in this one; it's really interesting and good! I've owned this for a while, but I own a LOT of perfumes, so I don't necessarily reach for some stuff often. In fact, I only noticed its significant complexity when comparing it with several others (Al Haramain Junoon Noir, Rochas 2019, Byzance 2019, and Hermes Twilly Au Poivree). I found it more complex than any of the aforementioned, with its layers of raspberry, rose, pepper, and what my nose picks up as a lipsticky makeup smell. It's really gorgeous and somewhat challenging, too, and I can see how it could be overwhelming to sensitive noses. But I'm a big fan of the original White Diamonds, as well as Twilly Au Poivree and strong, sweet stuff like Fancy and Reb'l Fleur, so I find it absolutely beautiful. Nonetheless, it's not an easy wear (just like some of my favorite chypres), so I'd definitely have to be in the mood for En Rouge -- but WOW!!! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Edit: I just went back and read some of the other reviews and noticed that I neglected to add what a few others so correctly noticed/identified: 1. there's a strong orange blossom in the heart of this fragrance (I LOVE orange blossom!), and 2. there's quite a dirty patchouli base a la a classic fruitchouli. As a huge orange blossom and fruitchouli fan, WD En Rouge just mashes together a bunch of things I completely love, and it's definitely challenging, but it works! It's just sooooooo good!!!

I am a big fan of most of Elizabeth Taylor's fragrances. I very recently discovered this fragrance on a perfume website, and decided to buy it blind. I figure for me, an Elizabeth Taylor fragrance is pretty much a guaranteed success. Immediately after spraying, the raspberry and pink pepper are there, but they last only the briefest of moments. Right away I detect the rose, orange blossom, and a pinch of the patchouli. The dry down is gorgeous, as I mostly notice the patchouli, vanilla and amber. Overall I would describe this as a floriental rather than a floral. There is a very noticeable "spice" quality to the scent, which I love, but anyone who doesn't like spicy scents should probably avoid this one. This fragrance has amazing sillage and lasts what seems like forever. After wearing it the first time to try it out, the next day I could still smell it all day long without reapplying. Wow! That's a first for me. I feel like this one could definitely be worn very dressed up but also would work more casual outfits and occasions. To me, I don't think this one would be office safe, if you work near your coworkers. I could be wrong here, but with it's amazing sillage, I would be nervous to wear it to work myself. All in all, I'm so happy with my "blind buy" and I would definitely recommend to all lovers of florientals or those who appreciate "spicy" perfumes. It's a 10/10 for me.

Raspberry 'ROSE-CHOULI'. Opens with a fruity burst of raspberry & pink-pepper, and already there are rose facets swelling from the heart. I agree with reviewer Nataliemarie below who says "a slightly middle eastern Rose-Chouli." The patchouli in the base is of the dusty, powdery variety and leans to oakmoss (not listed) evoked by multi-faceted vetiver. Alongside from the opening through the heart there is a fluffy, voluminous, almost creamy quality to the rose that may be coming from the orange-blossom. Well into the drydown there is a piquant quality to the fruit, like the residue of rhubarb or davana. You've smelt this before, but it's nicely done here. Contrast to Modern Muse Le Rouge Estee Lauder: These are different, but there are striking similarities with red-fruit, rose & patchouli. Patchouli is a little more forward here than in MMLR. MMLR outperforms. Contrast to Si Giorgio Armani: These are differernt, but there are striking similarities in the drydowns. Si is more complex, with a more forward woody quality, and there is a 'perfume-y' quality not present in WDeR, but as they drydown they become more and more similar. Si outperforms. Overall: Soft & wearable raspberry 'rose-chouli' scent, with average or slightly above average performance for a year round wearing experience. Enjoy!

I will keep testing, but I was expecting something fabulous , based on my love for ET Diamonds & Rubies. Pink pepper is very strong in this.. Rubies surprised me after some tries and finally showed me her rosey side. I hope this will, too. I was prepared for sweet and modern and for now, I get "Sweet Sports Fragrance for Men." I have a similar issue with Chloe Nomade. Edit: This smells a lot better in hot weather. The other notes are much more harmonized with the peppery/musk accord, and I can actually smell something sweet/raspberry. Still not a favorite, but it's nice. I have been using it to spray my laundry and find it pleasant, and I can see myself wearing it when the mood strikes. Update: I started with a one ounce bottle and by the end it had mellowed out to a gorgeous raspberry rose with a spicy patchouli background. Loving it! I bought a new big bottle and the smell is not the same... Needs to age a little? I don't ever want to run out of this! I do see the connection to the OG and that is the heart of orange blossom. So pretty and modern but also totally classy and glam!

I finally found it, as it ́s rather hard to find. It ́s a love from me. You can tell it ́s in the "diamond-"family. It ́s a more rosy-peppery-version of White diamonds. It ́s an old Hollywood-glamour kinda perfume, like an expencive sope, and it ́s smells more expencive than it is. Though it ́s not an "old-lady," perfume I don ́t think it ́s for teenagers or young ladies (but it ́s just my opinion, if you ́re a young lady and you like the diamond-family then don ́t let my opinion hold you back). I don ́t think it ́s a safe blind buy, as you kinda have to like the original "White diamond." I still don ́t know if its a "warm," or "cold" weather perfume, as I just got it today, and it ́s still very warm outside. The longvity is in the diamond-family too. I sprayed a little on my hand, when I opened the parcel this morning. It ́s now been 8 hours, and I ́ve been washing my hands doing the day, as one do, and I ́ve made dinner and done the dishes by hand, and I can still smell it on my hand. It was worth the many search on the Internet and it ́s worth the money.

Oh my! This is fantastic in this price range! I also got influenced by YouTubers talking about it, although I really disliked the original WD dna (I couldn't digest the aldehydes, a huge dislike for me). So I was very sceptical about this one, expecting it will definitely have some amount of those old-school aldehydes/dna. They are not listed here but if there are any, they give off some sort of champagne freshness. This is a beautiful perfume and I find it very well balanced and blended - sweet rose, juicy raspberry, some sort champagne freshness/pink pepper? With just a touch of patchouli and woods grounding it down. Very elegant, suitable for dates and daily wear. I think middle-aged women would appreciate it the most, it is not the typical sweet fruity perfume that young women would expect. Yet it is not old-fashioned either, just elegant and classy. To me, it is most similar to the Modern Muse DNA, I have the OG and the Le Rouge Gloss. Not so much Lady Vengeance, as it doesn't have that musk, it is juicier and airy.

After looking all over my local department stores for a tester I finally got lucky today on the Military Base Navy Exchange. In typical Elizabeth Taylor fashion, spraying this on a tester card left me confused. I had no choice but to spray it on my skin and hold on for a minute while it settled. At first I honestly thought I was going to be disappointed. I got that raspberry note, then it quickly became rather soapy, most likely the rose and jasmine. But the soap notes calm down, and the raspberry, orange blossom and vanilla create a sweetness and the vetiver and patchouli balance it with a dryness. It’s beautiful. I think it’s something that will be well received as it’s relatable enough with the current trend of sweeter fragrances but it’s sophisticated and classic at the same time. I got my 3.4oz bottle for $55 so my Elizabeth Taylor collection is now complete again.

Oh how I have missed having a raspberry scent in my life! I love Hot Couture and Insolence, and based on reviews, WDR seemed to present a way to avoid the disappointment of reformulation in those two. WDR is fabulous! Gorgeous sexy scent that has every note I love in Hot Couture in a very refined, beautifully blended, luxurious, elegant perfume. Magnificent longevity, strength, and sillage, with the famously great sprayer that ET perfumes are known for. I’m madly in love with this! Much as I adore Diamonds and Rubies, and I truly adore it, I think WDR is the most beautiful of the WD flankers, completely stands on its own, no WD dna detectable to me. I’m indulging my overspraying nature outside of work hours to my heart’s delight! Back up bottle on the way!

I am not a super fan of the original White Diamonds, so I've hesitated buying any flankers as I just wouldn't wear them...or so I thought... I had the chance to sample this on paper and wow! Shocker! This has a bright crisp fruity red rose with a little bit deeper almost tonka bean, vanilla bean type of scent grounding it. Like a kite that wants to fly away from you while you hold on tight! I decided to go ahead and buy a bottle and give it a good try. My goodness this just sings! I found myself just in love with this! And it lasts 12 hours!!! It changes a little bit but remains a bright crisp beautiful smell! Wow!!!

A rich, ruby red potion of intense desire, imbued with an undeniably vintage charm. This is a heady, slightly smokey rose. The lasting power is incredible, certainly over six hours and beyond; perhaps the strongest fragrance in my modest collection, and one of Taylor's best. This is the scent of a "woman in cinema"; so simplistic in its musical tones yet complex as a complete symphony. There is something keenly gothic and mid-Victorian in this crimson bouquet. Now this is a fragrance I dare only wear in Autumn and Winter. I would love to read what others think of this gem!

How is there not a greater hype over this flanker?!?! This is Good. Very modern flanker to the White Diamonds line, and thus crafted to be timeless. A bit sweet, a definite raspberry and black pepper blast in the first 5 minutes then dries down bringing in the rose and patchouli, but the raspberry stays present. Also a hint of lipstick. To die for, very sexy, warm, inoffensive. I can't get enough and I can't understand why there isn't more attention to this one in the fragrance community. It's a gem. You need this.

Very pretty woody, fruity, floral. Soft dry down that is lovely to sniff. I can also smell the amber mid dry down which helps round this fragrance off very well and makes it smell more lux than its price point. The patchouli is not in your face either. Very wearable and well blended notes overall. On me I get a good 6 hours. Not too heady either which is great as I get headaches if the fragrance is too screechy and loud at the start. Great value and very pretty!

This is an unexpected but deep love, as tangy sour notes like raspberry tend to not agree with me. But in this rose patchouli, the sweetness and slight tartness of the berry brings a sparkling quality to this elegant rose. It's cheerful, bright, and fun, but in an elegant mature way. Truly one of my fave perfumes. I've been collecting Elizabeth Taylor perfumes for a while, and this is definitely one of the best in her line.

I ordered this blindly based on the notes. This is a very nice scent that smells more expensive than the $27 I paid for it. The raspberries, rose, and patchouli really stand out. I don't think it smells like a generic fruitchouli. It makes me think of if Voleur de Roses and MMMM... had a love child. It is a little too hot for this type of scent now but it will probably be great in the fall and winter!

This is an absolute coup de foudre 💘 ! This perfume smells sofisticated and luxe. It reminds me of many Armani fragrances (Si Armani in particular). A sexy warm vanilla effluve that is intricate enough to be distinctively inprited in your olfactive memory. Note : It does not resssemble any of the Taylor line which smell more « old lady-ish ».

This perfume has helped me acclimate my nose to pink pepper, which seems to be in everything now and is apparently here to stay. I Iike this more and more. Update: by the end of the bottle, I'm a convert. The new backup bottle smells different. This one improves with age, I think, becoming more fruity and rosy over time.

This is really good value and much more sophisticated than the slightly tacky bottle suggests. To me it’s a classic jammy rose, with the raspberry, rose and amber the strongest notes. I also get a bit of pepper and patchouli but it never goes too spicy. A warm, sexy nighttime fragrance.

Just a gentle suggestion to those whose bottle smells different from expectations: give it a few weeks to macerate. Let it sit a bit, it may improve greatly. Same for other Elizabeth Taylor perfumes. I love the soft rose in En Rouge! Spray lightly and it is work appropriate too.

I have Escada Absolutely Me, which has the same composition, the rose, raspberry, pink pepper, vanilla accord is just divine. Versace woman also has rose, raspberry, the combination is just lovely. I hope this sells in the same price as most Taylor's perfume does, accessible.

This smells glamorous to me. I can definitely smell the pink pepper. To me this is a little bit sweet ( but not a lot), powdery, and definitely very spicy. This makes me think of Christmas. I think this would be better as a cold weather scent. I love it!

I Love this perfume the notes are gorgeous and smell heavenly, the raspberry and rose together are divine and the bottle is so glamorous. This is not an overpowering scent and wearable for any occasion. Highly recommended 10/10.

This is such a strong and beautiful fruity, rosy, musky scent. It’s probably my favorite of the White Diamonds collection, and it’s something I use often. One spray is definitely enough to keep me smelling great all day!

I was tempted by this one, but it dries down so similar to Lady Vengeance (Juliette has a gun), which I already own, that I don't think I need it.

If you know Scent of a Dream Charlotte Tilbury, the sort of aldehydic feel of this Diamonds is very similar, just plus the fruity notes.

I saw this in a few gift sets at the drug store last week. New for Christmas season. Maybe not discontinued after all?

What a gorgeous fragrance 💕 🌹 A juicy, sweet, effervescent, oriental scent. Everything is blended with perfection.

You need to let the bottle macerate for a few weeks.

one test winter, one test spring, two sprays to inner wrist. this scent is not like the other older fragrances from this line of 'diamonds' it doesnt have that diamonds dna which the likes of rubies, emeralds, and the other two/three have, which on me goes synthetic and cheap even though i like some of the top and heart notes. the newer ones ive tried are night in the black bottle, and a fresh one in a misted glass bottle. **excellent sprayers and bottles from this brand by the way. ok THE RED BOTTLE is so nice. right, this is a thick type of scent with a really strong wafty sillage. it almost went a bit synthetic sort of mid way through, then that went away agan, on fabric it didnt do this. this is what stopped me from getting it the first time i saw and tried it. i cannot discern the notes in this, only a feel. it has a smokey insense vibe in its background, NOT like l'argent by that underwear brand ..starts with a or s... i guess year a mix of woody, spices, rose but not floral rose, its got a deep sweetness to it but not a sweet scent overall, i do not think this resembles versace woman or escada at all - i have both and can compare, there could be an avon vibe (i dislike all avon fragrance offereings i find them extremely cheap and poor quality on me) i would go halves with someone in getting this, i do like it and appreciate it, though i doubt i would use a full bottle.

I purchased this based on a YouTube review and I am not disappointed. It’s is a classy luxurious scent that smells like a well groomed, well dressed elegant woman. I don’t get a very strong raspberry note, but all the other notes are present to my nose and really blend well together. I also can’t pick up a strong vanilla which is great! I am sensitive to vanilla being that I bathed in vanilla scents in my late teens and twenties and also had vanilla scented candles everywhere! Haha So, for me, that is a note that I associate with youth and I can find juvenile to me. This vanilla is not prominent and is blended with the luscious amber and earthy patchouli giving it such a sophisticated dry down. I really enjoy this scent, and don’t find it as “old lady”. I would call it mature, but in a way meaning, you have your stuff together, you’re polished, you’re established, you’re organized, you’re well mannered, you’re a good example of how to be a lady. Love this, and glad I tried it. I’m not a fan of white diamonds and this wouldn’t have been on my radar had I not seen reviews, piquing my curiosity! So, thanks YouTube for that! This one is a success! I’d say it’s best for fall-early spring and evenings year round.

White Diamonds en Rouge was compared to Modern Muse le Rouge so much that I almost didn't buy it since I already own MM Rouge. But I wanted to add it to my ET collection, so I found a deal and bought it. I am comparing both of these fragrances side by side and while they share some notes and a similar character, I find them different and here is how. Both have huge doses of pink pepper so if you hate that note do not buy. Both are fruity raspberry rose perfumes, but WD Rouge has a very strong orange blossom in the heart of the fragrance. MM Rouge has a faint jasmine co-mingling w/ the rose in its heart. The dry down is where these fragrances are very different. WD Rouge is very heavy on a green vetiver and dirty patchouli in its dry down while MM Rouge is heavy w/ ambrette musk and vanilla in its dry down. I like both fragrances very much. My husband prefers WD Rouge, and I prefer MM Rouge but both of them are nice fruity rose perfumes w/ a heavy spicy pink pepper. If you don't like dirty patchouli do not buy this one because the patchouli is very dirty. All and all a nice flanker for WD.

I went into buying this following a research for rose perfumes. I love all of them, I don't discriminate. I looked at reviews and most of them promised a designer rose. I expected something that this fragrance isn't. This is not a modern, French perfumery rose, forget Lancome or YSL. When I was a kid in a different millennium, this is what I wanted to smell like when I grew up. It smells like an old classic, very much something I would have remembered from the 80ies if it existed then. There is a strange addictive quality to it. The top notes are definitely there and there is a strong, dated rose and soapy orange blossom coming through straight away, plus a heavy jasmine. It is very rare the notes come and say hello distinctively to me, but this happens here. When it dries down, it is warm and sweet. Aldehydic, which is not listed in the note breakdown. Not too heavy on the patchouli. I can imagine it is not easy to like if you are not a rose fan or not into vintage smelling fragrances. I enjoy the vibe and will use my hefty bottle up, a surprisingly good blind buy.

Just bought this one very inexpensively at a drug store as a blind buy. About $30 but on sale plus & I had a online coupon code for $10 off so I paid about $13, cant beat that! Mine is a set which has the eau de toilette and an actual perfume mini. I tried one spray of toilette on my wrist. I will say I fully agree that these bottle have a great sprayer and the bottle is very pretty. For a single spray this was pretty strong, very sharp raspberry right off the top and I also get a good bit of rose. Once the sharpness wears off it's quite nice. I got more of the rose as it dries down and also some of the earthy patchouli. It's quite a bit different from my other perfumes but I do like it a lot. Let my hubby sniff my wrist and he just said "It's ok, nothing special" but this is the man who wants everything to smell like cotton candy. I will keep and wear it for myself, but I'll keep the sugary sweet stuff for date nights. LOL

This is the second White Diamonds fragrance in my collection, with the first being Legacy, and for the price, I’m impressed. I can certainly detect the similarity to Estée Lauder Modern Muse En Rogue, although it carries the White Diamonds DNA, which differentiates it enough from that. And I can also smell the Armani Sì comparison slightly, although again, not a complete dead ringer due to the White Diamonds undertone again. Honestly, this is more similar to Sì Passione than it is the original Sì. Definitely a bit of a synthetic rose, although not in a headache-inducing or sickening way. I can’t smell this scent much after 30 minutes or so, but I have messed-up sinuses and there are certain scents I just go nose blind to. This is one I can overspray without worrying about it being too overpowering, even though I wouldn’t describe it as a light scent.

I've been collecting the White Diamonds range of perfumes. This line drew my attention because of the fragrance quality for such great prices. These EDT lasts so much longer and projects further than some of my expensive EDP. If I had started my collection with the White Diamond range, I would have covered 90% of the perfumes in my collection. White Diamonds En Rouge is a modern perfume which could easily replace Lalique Amethyst and Gucci Guilty Absolute Pour Femme. Not an exact copy but similar enough that I would not need all 3. This proves that you can smell great on a much smaller budget if you look around. Very respectable. Suitable for Spring, Summer, and Fall. Is my nose tricking me or do I smell a touch of oud in the drydown? Very nice.

Oh wow, this was so surprisingly nice! It opens very much like Idole from Lancome. The drydown is where you find the sweet fruit. I got this as part of a trio sampler pack and tried it just for the sake of curiousity and was pleasantly surprised! It has it all- a peppery tang at the opening, a sweet lively rose (not dried, not fake), and a hint of raspberry and orange that comes out during drydown. I was seriously considering springing for a rollerball of Idole but I think I'll just go with this one. Seems fitting for any season day or night, could even work as an inoffensive office frag. Surprisingly grand, very modern, a slightly spicier and sweetened take on the new rose fragrances like Idole- very nice!

For me this opened tart and sheer with a sprinkle of pepper. More dry than sweet. Kind of refreshing. I like it - really different than original WD, which I'm a fan of. It seems to be sweetening up a little more, and I sense more rose as it dries down, but certainly not what I'd call a very sweet fragrance. This seems to have very poor distribution, not many reviews out there, no department stores selling it (got mine on eBay) - I wonder if it's that unpopular, or just intended as a limited edition. -------------------------- There's something I find fascinating about this scent. It seems different than anything else I have. I'm not sure it's exactly "me", but then again that can change over time.

I like it, it’s pretty after it dries down, but the opening smells like cherry cough syrup or cherry liquor. It does somewhat remind me of other perfumes that I have, Black XS and Modern Muse le Rouge Gloss. So if you’re on a budget and like Berry Patchouli Rose, this is a safe bet, but I prefer the others that I mentioned. Those are more spendy so pairing this with those can perhaps make those last longer. Edit: Also similar to Chopard Madness, but this is better than Madness.

I have been exploring the Diamonds series by Elizabeth Taylor. Positive surprises all so far - and at very reasonable prices. White Diamonds en Rouge is more modern than the others I have tested. From my collection en Rouge comes closest to Lady Vengeance. From these two I prefer en Rouge, somehow it is more wearable. So if Lady Vengeance feels too expensive, try White Diamonds en Rouge.

This is the first time I am trying ET’s fragrance. Wow. It smells like an expensive designer perfume, not a cheapie celebrity fragrance. It is a bit heavy on patchouli, a note I normally don’t like. But here it does not bother me much. Very well done. Also, I have always thought Elizabeth Taylor was a true movie star and extremely beautiful.

Very pretty, feminine and not generic at all! The fruty-rosey vibe is very pleasant. Office-friendly, not cloying. Perfect for a Saturday brunch with friends but also, sophisticated enough for a night out. Drydown is very cozy and pleasant, probably the result of the vetiver-vanilla-patchouli combination.

To understand this one before you get into it, you should not expect a rich, sweet, sultry, rasberry rose fragrance. This is a rasberry rose fragrance that has been imagined as a 70s creation, with aldehydes, champagne tones and patchouli. A wonderful fragrance seen in that light.

For $18 this turned out to be an uplifting happy berry patchouli scent which will work great for spring. The dry down gave me a hint of the Elizabeth Taylor perfume line DNA but just barely. Its not ground breaking but its a nice fragrance if you enjoy fruity patchouli's.

A slightly middle eastern Rose-Chouli. Blind buy. I like it, but the original, The brilliant & Her Gardenia are masterpieces. I feel like I have 20 perfumes that smells somewhat like this. It's like a strong perfume version of Lush's Rose Jam w/ that mid-Eastern twist.

Get your hands on this gem now as I learned that this is discontinued now.

Dame Elizabeth would roll over in her grave over this one. She gave us Diamonds and Rubies, a regal masterpiece of fire and opulence, a fragrance that struts with glamazon confidence, its spices purring under luscious fruits and creamy florals. A perfume so rich it practically wears a velvet gown and drops one-liners at charity galas. And then... White Diamonds en Rouge. If Diamonds and Rubies is haute couture, En Rouge is polyester cosplay. Supposedly a "modern" spin on aldehydes and glamour, this is a textbook case of good molecules gone bad. The aldehydes, normally bright and effervescent, here smell like someone scrubbed a hospital corridor with vintage nail polish remover. There's no lift, no sparkle, just flat, soapy fizz that dies within minutes. Where is the fruit? Where is the sweetness? This is screechy aldehydes (I love aldehydes, but not like this!!) combined with vague florals. Imagine a wine-tasting where all the bottles have gone off. That’s En Rouge. It aspires to mystery but lands somewhere between department store potpourri and a regretful blind buy. You want red? Stick with Diamonds and Rubies - that one's a full-throttle diva in a red dress. En Rouge is just her intern, wearing knockoff heels and spilling the coffee. Edit: After 3 months! I kept coming back to this one because I refused to believe it could be this bad - and it kept being weirdly screechy - until today. I'm finally getting a bit of sweetness from the raspberry coming through, and the aldehydes are no longer screaming nail polish remover. I guess it needed to oxidise a bit, because now it's actually pleasant.

I wanted to love this perfume, I really did. Unfortunately, despite being hands down the most beautiful bottle in the White Diamonds flanker line (and, dare I say, out of all of ET's perfumes), and despite my love of the original White Diamonds parfum, En Rouge is just a fairly unremarkable, cheap-smelling fruitchouli with an overwhelmingly unpleasant and sharp amount of pink pepper. Just a single spray takes my breath away in the bad sense and tickles my nose every time I get a whiff. It looks great on my vanity, but I will probably stick to the original White Diamonds and turn to one of the thousand other fruitchoulis on the market when I'm feeling particularly girlish.

Am I the only one who thinks this smells like Delina? Delina for me is too harsh and screechy. White Diamonds En Rouge is softer, while still being strong and long-lasting. I also agree that this reminds me of Armani Si. While Si and Delina are not fragrances that I can wear and enjoy - I think this one I'll keep.
