White Diamonds

A beautiful fragrance. I remember the black and white TV commercial for it, with Liz Taylor taking off a pair of white diamond earrings and giving them to a guy playing in a kind of gambling game, saying, "these have always brought me luck." Opens with aldehydes which for the early 90's was such a throwback to vintage aldehyde florals like Arpege, Chanel 5, 22, L'air du temps, White Shoulders, White Linen, and throwback to white florals like Fracas. The neroli and citrus top notes give it a fresh burst of sweetness. The soapy quality is immediately there. Bubbly and bathy, soapy. Very clean. The white floral heart settles in, made of lily, jasmine, tuberose and white rose. So this is definitely all about the white flowers. Gardenia was, according to herself, Liz Taylor's favorite flower. The scent begins fresh, cool and soapy but finishes off warm and musky. In between you get the clean white florals and a touch of cinnamon. This is somewhat spicy because of that cinnamon which you can't miss. The dry down is musk, amber, sandalwood. By the driest stage, it is much warmer with white musk. The scent is also powdery, most likely because of the iris or orris root note. The dab-on bottles in the egg shape with fake diamonds (rhinestones) has a sweet but strong oil of lilies and jasmine kind of vibe. The spray is a powder bomb. This scent is luxurious, sophisticated, glamorous and warm, suited to fall and winter in the evening for dressy formal events - weddings, wedding parties, gala dinner parties. People forget that the time of it's release in 1991, this was such a beloved and popular fragrance that transcended age and race. Fans of Elizabeth Taylor lined the streets in front of Macy's to hear her talk about this perfume. She wore it herself as she did all her other perfumes. White Diamonds won a FIFI award. This is truly a masterpiece of perfumery. But it's also quite simple despite it being heavy. If you spray just a little on your wrist or in a vertical spray on your neck, you're good to go. The perfume leans feminine and not unisex (even Arpege is more unisex). I don't care what some say about it calling it an old lady fragrance and young people have no business wearing it. Whatever. It is such a classy and beautiful aroma that it should be appreciated by all. It may not work on everyone's skin chemistry if you don't like aldehydes or white florals but if you do then go with it and rock it. To me though it is so elevated and glam that I can only wear it at wedding parties or very dressy formal affairs which don't come frequently in my life. And in winter time like now - January, February. A soothing scent, it can also work as an after your shower and before bed time scent. I happen to really like aldehyde white florals, soapy florals, powdery florals, so for me this is a treasure. Fragrance has the power to change itself to each and every individual so if it's coming off as old and ugly to you, remember to others it's beautiful. To me it will always be beautiful. I have the dab on bottles and the sprays. And the best part is that despite it being super expensive at one time it is now so cheap a child on an allowance can buy it! It's a drugstore cheapie and always easily found at CVS, Walmart, Walgreens etc. Elizabeth Taylor knew what she was doing because she's passed on (and lives only in her movies) but this fragrance is forever.

Una Diva que se está preparando para ir a recibir un Oscar. Si tienes alma de Diva.. este es tu perfume! llamarás la atención.

I see the review below claiming that White Diamonds, Rubies, Emeralds, and Sapphires "smell pretty much exactly like each other" and that this absolute masterpiece smells "identical to White Shoulders." Clearly, the fentanyl crisis is worse than I thought. Anyway, those of us who were in jr. high or high school in the late 1990s were likely traumatized by this stuff for several years. It seemed that every mom, aunt, teacher, and random woman on the street bathed in it. For that reason, I sort of put it out of my mind, though I've always loved it in small doses. But never in a million years did I ever think I'd wear it. And then I hit 40 and found that I had no more F's to give. Now I wear it constantly, and any silly peasant that doesn't like it is free to leave. While the EDP remains my favorite because of its more indolic opening, slightly softer, more rounded edge and its "friendlier" projection, the EDT is good for when you want a sweeter and less floral overall, more aldehydic opening and more projection/sillage. Oh, that PROJECTION/SILLAGE. Frankly it can hit bystanders like a pimp slap if you over-apply it. Two sprays of this are more than enough, and any more would be considered chemical warfare. The compliments I get when I wear this never cease to amaze me, since this is the last thing you'd expect a 6'1", 165-pound man to be wearing. It seems that most young people who didn't grow up around this have no idea what it is and compliment me the most. To quote a mid-20-something bartender, "You smell like hella horny flowers, and I'm low-key into it." Thanks, honey bun. Funny how times change, and how much marketing and word of mouth hide the things we really do like. Stop letting your memory and word-of-mouth from 30 years ago steer you away from this absolute masterpiece. FYI: If, on occasion, you enjoy dialing up the projection to a level that qualifies as an act of aggression as I do, get BOTH the body powder and the lotion. You can thank me later.

Metamorphosing Tuberose... 1991 Tuberose, Aldehyde, & Lily Scent, that I imagine Julia Roberts wearing in Sleeping With the Enemy, which also came out in 1991. It starts out clean, prim, starchy, stuffy & oppressed, but morphs into a beautiful blossoming tropical tuberose, with a darkness underneath. This beauty opens with a vintage-y burst of clean & soapy aldehydic white-florals including neroli, but that's merely an opening number. As it transitions to the heart, a rich & creamy tuberose emerges at the centre of a floral bouquet. Ylang & jasmine tilt the tuberose into its tropical-citrus-fruity facets. Here in the heart I get reminders of other creamy tropical tuberose scents like Tubereuse de Madras Boucheron. The floral support base includes musk & oakmoss which fluff up the powdery facets of tuberose, while sandalwood & amber dial up the creamy richness. I just have a travel tester, and although I smelt this many years ago and passed it by, now I feel like I've never really smelt this before. Likely I sniffed the opening notes and assumed it was one thing, but it was really another. For me it starts out like a vintage white-floral aldehyde but turns into a tropical tuberose. Performance is well above average for year round wear, but I would be most likely to wear this in cooler months. Contrast to Boucheron Boucheron: These are different, but there are similarities with vintage white-florals. Boucheron takes its tuberose into a more maple-esque creamy sweetness, while White Diamonds has the aldehydes up top, and takes its tuberose into a more tropical creamy sweetness. Both have excellent performance. Overall: gorgeous vintage white-floral-aldehyde that morphs into a tropical tuberose, with excellent performance. It's a love for me. 10/10 for a vintage white-floral. Enjoy!

This is a surprise....not because I’ve never smelt it but because I’ve never worn it. For over a few years in my late teens/early twenties this was a very close friends signature. Not only that, but she was a chronic oversprayer and wore 10-12 sprays of this whatever the occassion, weather or season. She became anosmic quickly, whilst killing all around her. It came around the bend before her. Now, this fragrance can do that with only moderate spraying 😁. Needless to say this was off my try menu due to me being angry with the scent (all that suffering) and it being associated to someone else. Fast forward a number of years...and me not seeing this friend much (who no longer wears it) I yesterday picked up a bottle of Samsara EDT and noticed White Diamonds and Passion at ridiculously cheap prices. I decided what the heck and bought a 15ml of WD. Getting home I sprayed it and was taken back to all that time locked up in a car with my over sprayed friend... and then I smelt the magic. I think she wore the EDP as this never sparkled on her like this. I sat there bewildered. If I hadn’t known it was vintage I wouldn’t have thought so. The top is so sparkly the pops were almost crunchy. Just wonderful. The scent is deep and yet airy and fluffy. I quickly get the ylang which is beautiful - not banana but so clear, the jasmine moves in and reminds me of all the classic soaps I used to collect as a kid. It’s wonderous. I get more musks (white and clean) rather than heavy woods. There is a nod to Chanel with that opening which is wonderful if you like aldehydes, but is so her own scent. I think of that scene from The Great Gatsby where Leonardo raises his champagne slipper and smiles broadly at the camera during a toast. Here’s to you Liz and Carlos 🥂🍾

Let's get something straight. I'll point out two facts: 1.) I'm a 20 year old, male college student. 2.) This fragrance is hated. I've always been obsessed with the finer things in life, and my obsession with film has led me to absolutely adore everything Liz Taylor stood for. Once I started developing my perfume collection (see my profile), it was only obvious to me that I desperately needed this gem for collector's purposes...but I live for making an impression and being unexpected, so White Diamonds is exactly what I need. I'm a HUGE fan of white florals, and I'm known to rock Madonna's Truth or Dare or Gucci's Premiere on any occasion. But they just don't have that heavy pungency that I truly adore... So after nabbing a large bottle of this for just $15 at my local TJ Maxx, I was quick to douse myself...and I'm in heaven. The rule of life is that you should wear it if, and only if, you can pull it off. And I can pull this off. I've received so many compliments, most notably stating that I smell clean, put-together, and classy. The thing I truly love about this fragrance is that the notes end up doing what Chanel No.5 so beautiful accomplished: Making a fragrance smell like THE FRAGRANCE. Just as Chanel No.5 smells like Chanel No.5, White Diamonds smells like White Diamonds. I can't sit here and pick out the individual notes of this fragrance, like I can with everything else. That's what I love. It's bold. It draws you in. And it leaves you dazzled. And this is why White Diamonds is beautiful.

I just don't get it. Where's the obnoxiously loud fragrance monster I was supposed to experience? Where's the cheap, chainsmoking granny? Where are the suffocating aldehydes? Where is the overwhelmingly "perfumey" perfume? Is it just me? Am I crazy? Because White Diamonds for me is subtle, soft, sweet, restrained, delicate, powdery, refined... in short, everything it's not supposed to be. Frankly, this is ladylike. It does start off with aldehydes (not nearly as much as Chanel No. 5 to my nose) and spicy lily with the clear and felt presence of ylang-ylang. And maybe that's rose poking through? There's definitely narcissus. Oh, my word. For years I've been looking for a sweet, delicate narcissus perfume and it's been down the street at Walmart this whole time. The drydown is this soft, sweet cloud of clean sandalwood that every warm blanket should smell like. In fact, I inherited the powder months ago and recently I've gone to sprinkling my sheets with it (An old trick for fresh bedding. Try it!) It's good, but it's nothing like the way this develops on skin. I just can't get enough of sniffing it through all its phases, from aldehydes and spice to sweetness and warmth. I can see myself becoming even more obsessed with this than I am with Ysatis which I've been spraying every day since I got it like a fiend. A FIEND. I'm seriously considering making White Diamonds my signature fragrance - Yes, millennial-aged me. I'm also questioning every bottle of niche perfume I've ever paid full price for.

Am I the only one who prefers the EDT over the EDP?? The EDT is FAR more complex and floral than the VERY soapy EDP. The EDP I feel is very linear and is just PURE WHITE SOAP with extra suds. The EDT is just mindblowingly good. Grapey jasmine DELICOUSNESS. The magic starts about an hour after being sprayed. The first time I smelled WD was at a hole in the wall sushi bar... go figure! Our very casually dressed, and young server was wearing it. The entire restaurant was filled with this fragrance. I thought wow! she must be wearing a new LUSH scent because it smelled sooo botanical and floral. So of course I had to ask her, and she said "hmm I think its called Diamonds". I said WHITE diamonds?? she pulled out a very small bottle of edt in her apron pocket and handed it to me.. sure enough white diamonds. i was shocked!! that was about 3 years ago and has been my signature ever since. The person I imagine wearing this is definitely Blanche Devereaux from the Golden Girls. But hey, I think a gay 27 yo male can pull it off too :) I buy mine at walgreens for basically pennies. I very rarely get compliments on it, but the ones who do appreciate this floral bomb, are always left obsessed. Also, I have tried all the body products but none seem to give me that grapey jasmine "high" the edt offers. Another similar experience happened to me with red door EDT. a VERY casual bartender was wearing it and left me begging for more. I must love huge 80s white florals!

When I choose a perfume I focus on two things: - how does it make me feel. - what does it project to others on behalf of me. I don't really care about a perfume's formulation, because I want to smell pictures, and because I know that a lot depends on my skin chemistry. When I smell WD I see a lovely young lady with short Bob hair, red lips, wearing a beige silk tea dress. I, also, see a C-level executive on her button-up shirt expressing an opinion on a very important meeting. In an era of vast variety of scents, brands, prices, formulas and philosophies, this perfume is still around and being produced. The reason is because it's worth it: a. This is an affordable quality perfume of a huge value for money. One pays a lot less than what they would be willing to pay if WD was promoted by an ad campaign featured by a very prominent face. b. Only a small amount will last for hours. c. It can be worn on all occasions, day to night, all year round - depending on the spraying. d. It says to you "you are expensive, work on your attitude to match that" and to others "you should take her seriously". If all the above characterise this scent as dated, or "old lady" perfume, then alright. I apologise for not categorising style and fashion choices by "young" or "old". I only distinguish character there. And, in my opinion, WD is a role model to be respected.

The infamous White Diamonds. I have heard so much about this perfume my whole life. Nightmarish things. Things that scared me away from this perfume for what I thought would be an entire lifetime. I heard that it was dusty, pungent, old woman-y, moldy, overwhelmingly grotesque...if it can describe a monster then that’s what I have heard and read describing this perfume. But then one day recently my love and adoration for Dame Elizabeth Taylor grew to its height. I knew I needed to start collecting all of her perfumes for no other reason being that I adore her and adore perfume. So naturally I was forced to confront this monster. And to my surprise I am so glad I did! This is now my second favorite perfume I have. I can’t get enough of it. It is so beautiful on me! Soapy, freshness, yet tuberose overload. Very glamorous and elegant. Demands to be felt. Powerful. Intense. Old woman-y? I can see why people say that especially since it’s 90 year olds who are known to wear it being that Liz was their time and era. However, if you have the confidence you can pull this off easily at a young age. Many hate it. But on me I receive nothing but compliments. It makes me feel confident and powerful and sexy and glamorous. I already have ordered another bottle and I haven’t even finished the first. I will keep this in my rotation the rest of my life.

Does it remind me of my nan when I wear this? Yes. Do I care? Absolutely not. I was looking to broaden my horizons a bit when it came to perfume. I wanted something that wasn't just a bomb of sweetness for once (I really love sweet perfumes, but sometimes you just want something different, you know?) Starts of really strong, all I can smell is aldehydes in the beginning. You only really need a max of 2 sprays, and it pretty much lasts you the entire day. But in the drydown, a bit more white floral notes start to come through. If this is "old lady scent", I guess I am "old" at 31, boohoo. I love her, she's wonderful. And for that price? Absolutely ridiculous quality. No perfume has any business being this strong, for this long, for this low a price. But I am darn happy that she exists, and so happy I bought her. I sometimes wear her out and about to throw people off from my usual sweet and woody scents hehehe, the look on their face is priceless. I know people don't like it on me, but I don't care. I wear perfumes for *me*, not for others. Is that a bit selfish? Maybe. But sometimes we just need to enjoy the "little things", like how a perfume makes you feel. Wearing this makes me feel so sophisticated and rich, two things I will never be, but one can dream, right? ;)

This is tied as my favourite fragrance of all time with Chanel No5. Such an unbelievably gorgeous fragrance that works all year round. I do however love it on hot summer days, yet also find it perfect during the dead of winter. To me this feels like No5's younger sister. There's a similar DNA but White Diamonds is lighter, fresher and it doesn't have the depth of No5. The aldehydes are strong but in the most beautiful fizzy champagne fresh way unlike some others that have a mustier aldehydic scent. Aldehydes always tend to last a long time on my skin, even way into a dry down oddly but I can't complain as it's so lovely (This is also a part of the reason why No5 is another absolute love of mine). The orange and bergamot aren't always the most present on my skin but when they are it's such a lovely zesty freshness perfectly complimenting the aldehydes. The floral notes are heavenly and so perfectly blended creating a fresh clean floral smell. The dry down is lovely and primarily smells of the amber and sandalwood on me. Smooth, creamy and warm, along with those fizzy aldehydes still lingering on my skin! An absolute gem of a fragrance I can not live without.

it makes me so happy to see people showering WD with love here, it certainly deserves to outgrow the ageist hatred thrown it's way! yes, the aldehyde opening can be a shocker if your nose is, mainly, used to smelling more contemporary scents. what aledehydes openings were to perfumes of the past, alcohol is to contemporary ones. once you overcome this different approach, the rest of the perfume's complexity can truly blow you away. on my skin, White Diamonds is a buttery, creamy, / white floral / ylang- ylang / aldehyde / musk bomb. she's luxe and sensual, in a time that the scent world doesn't know quite know what to do with that, at least without turning it into foodie notes. there is nothing remotely edible about White Diamonds; instead, she places you in a bubble, creates an aura around you, of a transcendent kind of eroticism. she is meant to put you in a head space, not crave a snack. White Diamonds is the scent of a goddess, not her mortal admirer or, much less, her rivals. spray carefully; even in her EdT form, White Diamonds goes on for 8+ on some people, myself included. you've been warned!

When I got into perfume collecting during COVID lockdown I bought WD eau de Parfum and didn't think I needed to explore the toilette or the pure perfume. But then I read the different reviews saying there were differences in the 3 different concentrations and formulations of this perfume. The reviews are right. While they do smell like White Diamonds there are subtle differences in each concentration. The toilette has a lot more aldehyde, very crunchy, cold aldehyde. The toilette is less floral and more about the aldehydes, it is soapier than the eau de parfum and the pure perfume. It is a beautiful cold powdery and clean perfume. I do love it but just like I have grown to love the eau de parfum, but this is more the daytime twin of the eau de parfum. Aldehydic, soapy, clean, and blinding white powder fragrance. ET White Diamonds is unapologetic, cold and aloof. Worn by a woman who is sensual, uncompromising, and fully self-aware. I love all 3 concentrations of this perfume and it is such a good value for money. I'm glad I have all 3 different concentrations of this stunning classic fragrance.

I fell in love with White Diamonds, crystalline aldehydes and white florals must be a match made in heaven for me because I can totally see myself wearing a scent like this to fancier events despite its very low price point and easy accessibility. It's clean, feminine and sophisticated, yet warm and carnal when you get closer to it and I think that's the appeal with many vintage fragrances. I think what many people might get wrong with older perfumes is that, with a sillage as strong as they used to have, they get too close to it. If you try White Diamonds don't drag your nose over it, let it air out around you (two sprays are enough) because after the first few minutes of citrus that's when this cloud of lilies and aldehydes finds its way. But when you get really close? That sweet warmth underneath close to the skin is something only someone really special should get to experience. Don't just give vintage perfumes a try, *experience* them. Let them talk first before judging them as "old" or "stinky" because there's a whole world to be discovered (it might turn into an addiction for some).

I roll my eyes when I read a review saying 'old lady' or 'grandma' or 'scrubber' and I'll tell you why using White Diamonds as an example. When it was first released, I was 17 and working in my first weekend job like lots of other teenagers. We ALL wore white diamonds because it was the new kid on the block. NONE of us said it was 'old lady' or 'grandma' or 'scrubber' lol I can't even put it down to immature noses because at 17 I had an immature nose and this was THE perfume to wear. In 15-20 years time, all you young Ariana Grande wearing perfumistas will be listening to the next generation leaving their reviews on Cloud etc saying 'old lady perfume' and 'grandma' and 'scrubber' and rolling your eyes just like I am now. White Diamonds was great back in the day and it's still great now. It's still great because it's still a good seller. Longevity is very strong. Silage is beastly so don't overspray. It's an unapologetic white floral. One of the best ones at that. The beauty is in the DRY DOWN so don't sniff it once and decide it's a scrubber.

Gosh is this a pretty fragrance. But you have to go into it understanding that the first few minutes are going to be bonkers... don’t scrub, just wait. It doesn’t take long before it settles and you see why so many love this fragrance. Yes, this absolutely has a vintage vibe. My grandmother (rest in peace) used to wear it. When people describe it as “old lady” like, while maybe it’s not the most polite way to describe it, it’s certainly not “ageist”, at least not to me. I think it is simply used to communicate “a scent that was loved by women who are now older”. But to me, I think of these women, true “ladies”, who were classically classy in their youth, wearing these beautiful and feminine fragrances. So, sure - they’re older ladies now - but they were a different generation of women... and I admire them greatly. I don’t care what the price tag is on White Diamonds, it is not “cheap” in any way. I feel like I’m paying my respects to those classy, feminine women when I wear this perfume. I certainly am paying homage to my own grandmother.

GRANDIOSE GLAMOUR. White Diamonds 💎 is an all time classic perfume. It is a true embodiment of Liz Taylor’s beauty and Hollywood glamour. WD opens with sparkly, soapy aldehydes balanced by some animalic note (?narcissus or indolic jasmine). The opening is strong 💪 and with old-school vibes so I spray once every few minutes while dressing to avoid developing a headache, and usually 3-5 sprays are more than enough. When this first hit settles, beautiful lilies, tuberose & jasmine as well as bright yellow florals bloom, this stage is compliments galore. The late dry down is drop dead gorgeous; the floral bouquet softens and is warmed by an exquisite sandalwood & spicy amber. The start wakes you up, the middle envelopes you with compliments and the dry down is very enjoyable to sleep to. Yes! it lasts you all day long and for such a bargain price. Sometimes I question the need to pay premium price for niche when there are such gems among designers and even celebrity scents.

White Diamonds- I’ve always loved everything Elizabeth Taylor. I was even once told that I had her beautiful eyes by a gentleman I didn’t even know. Swoon! I’ve recently become a true fan of vintage aldehydic fragrances. Completely late to the party I know, but when aldehydic fragrances such as White Diamonds were in fashion, I could not stomach them. Now I can’t get enough of them! They are so beautiful & buxom in vintage-esque fragrances! I discovered recently that White Diamonds was no exception! She is an amber hued sparkling treasure & I decided that it was finally time for me to add this beauty to my collection of magical golden elixirs! If you like Estée Lauder KNOWING, you’ll love the iconic White Diamonds. I’d say White Diamonds is a lighter, less robust version of KNOWING. She’s lovely to look at, lovely to hold, and lovelier yet to smell. White Diamonds is a beauty for all times. “Give me aldehydes, I must have more & more aldehydes!”

I have saved an original elizabeth taylor white diamond bottle that belonged to my late mother. she was very complicated, i feel conflicted about her often, and this perfume that she wore is so complicated in its notes. it smells different to me every time i take the cap off and i smell it. I can't remember my mothers voice anymore, and i have to focus to remember her face, but when i smell this classic sexy perfume i can perfectly picture her. I can remember her wedding photos when she was young and beautiful, i remember our shopping trips that i wish i appreciated more, and how she would fold laundry and watch young and the restless, and i remember how i felt when she was having one of her episodes. having this bottle on my shelf is a form of self flagellation, but its also deeply cathartic.

I see this perfume is very polorising but for me it's absolutely addictive. It's been my go to perfume the past few months since I've purchased it. I spray it daily and can never get enough of it. I only use a single spray which is more than enough because this beast is strong and it lasts like nothing else. It's definitely a bold statement, if you like robust vintage perfumes this is for you. Its sweet without being a gourmand, it's floral but not clean. I think it's perfectly blended, it gives old Hollywood glamour and a woman who knows exactly who she is and isn't afraid of filling a room. It's also incredibly comforting, like a hug from your older but classy Aunt. It's not for the weak of heart, but if it works on your body chemistry this is an absolute sparkling diamond in the rough.

Wow, I just love this, even though it has been changed quite a lot in recent years, Elizabeth Arden who now makes these, has a winner with this version of the classic White Diamonds. Mine is an EDT tester and made in 2024. So full, rich and warm, but can be worn in any season, with a lighter hand in summer of course. It lasts well for 2 hours or longer, then becomes a lovely soapy yellow floral on me. I am so impressed with this line, and have tried almost all of them, but my favourites are the OG of course, next is Diamonds and Emeralds, then Diamonds and Sapphires. For drugstore cheapies (In Canada anyway) these are worth collecting, and using frequently. I get asked often what I am wearing and where to buy, from all ages too. Classics never go out of style!

It smells dated for sure. From everything I've read I thought this perfume was going to be hideous. It isn't. It's a lovely aldehyde. As a kid I hated aldehyde. I always wondered "why and what is this particular scent in every perfume, it's so awful" Then I got older and finally learned the word aldehyde and could pinpoint what I was smelling. Then in the 90s ALL kinds of perfumes appeared without a trace of aldehyde and I remember thinking "wow finally." But I guess I like aldehyde now because it always transports me to the past. The best way I can describe it is just a classic perfume. Very white, very aldehyde. I hate to say "generic" but I can't think of a nice word to swap that with. Classic, I guess, is the word.

The *OG* of the (extensive) Elizabeth Taylor scent portfolio and, for my nose (and my wallet)....the best one. For the gentlemen out there who might be interested....this is a terrific choice if you'd like to change-up any of your darker fragrances. Specifically (speaking for myself) I much enjoy spraying *White Diamonds* along with any number of my oud perfumes; the blended scent profiles work complimentarily together. The oud darkens the flowers and the flowers lighten and sweeten the oud. I use the parfum but you can try the toilette, as well. For under $20 I'd say it's well worth a shot. ADDENDUM: It's also wonderful layered with COFFEEs and TOBACCOs and fun layered with CANNABIS.

This is my fave perfume of all time, especially the Edt. I haven't worn this is about a year now, due to me getting very busy and trying new fragrances. The town I live in has a ton of senior citizens over 70. Well today during my thanksgiving shopping I smelled it in the Grocery store and it will always be intoxicating and bewitching smelt from a distance, on someone else. It felt like the first time ever smelling it all over again. Thats a big reason I dont wear her often, I dont want my nose getting too used to it. These days its so extremely rare to smell this on someone. I will never understand the haters on this one.... ever.

From what I can determine there have been three different manufactures/formulas of this fragrance. All three smell a bit different to me. I think whether or not you like "White Diamonds" will have a lot to do with which formulation of the fragrance you own. Look at the bottom of your bottle, there will be a clear round sticker with the manufactures details. "House of Taylor" (The latest and by far the worst one, chemical-smelling) "EA Fragrances Co." (High-Quality well-blended fragrance) "Parfums International" (The original department store formula. Truly the best version of this masterpiece.)

I adore this! I will never understand people who do not like this perfume. In no way do I find this to be old fashioned or an old lady perfume, I think it’s suitable for all ages. I’m 21 and was introduced to this by my Nanny who is in her mid 70s and we both adore this fragrance. I sometimes think people just want to hate it because they associate it with an older generation’s celebrity’s fragrance but I think if it was repackaged as an Ariana Grande perfume or something more modern or designer people would love it! It is lovely when first applied and only gets lovelier as the hours pass.

I adore White Diamonds in all its forms. The EDT is a gorgeous fresh aldyhylic soapy floral, with massive projection and longevity. I wish they made a bath oil of this, because I would probably swim in it if I could. It evokes refined, classy, Old Hollywood glamour. I find it so familar and comforting, probably because so many ladies wore it when I was growing up This is not a fragrance for sweet gourmand lovers, it's definitely more vintage, very elegant and potent. Elizabeth Taylor knew what she was doing with this one!

Elizabeth has done it again. I fell in love with her Passion perfume and then I got the Diamonds and Emeralds and now this one, which I love! This is a classic, powerhouse, beast of a perfume that has great staying power and you have to be careful not to overspray. It has great silage and lasting power and when I have a hot flash I get perfumed all over again! haha I am obsessed with the Elizabeth Taylor line of perfumes now as 3 out of 3 have been amazing. Can't wait to add more to my collection.

Katiejon's review is spot-on. What a good way to describe this pretty perfume. And do try a vintage if you see one! Oak moss in the first edition is so different from today's replacements. I'm not saying the newer stuff isn't good, not at all. It's a beautiful perfume, old or new. The old stuff just has that unmistakable smell of real oak moss that makes it almost more chypre than what you'll find today, an aldehydic tuberose-forward white floral over a classic feminine woody backdrop.

This smells gorgeous and glamorous. It evokes an image of the size zero, big haired women in designer silk gowns from the yesteryears of old Hollywood glamour. It’s sparkling, floral champagne in a 14 karat gold flute. This is what Chanel No 5 aspired to be but fell severely short in my eyes. This was hands down the nicest perfume I’ve smelled at the department store recently. Everything else was generically sweet or generically dish detergent/dead flower-y.

If this was poured into a Chanel bottle and tagged for $150 people would lose their minds with words of "iconic" and "well blended" and "stunning". It's amazing how people grip onto stigmas for dear life. This fragrance is $20 and is absolutely one of the most gorgeous masterpieces of all time. So is Elizabeth's fragrance, Gardenia. You are out of your mind if you think this fragrance is trash. I'm sure you treasure your Ariana Cloud and bum bum cream.

This is my favorite perfume I never wear except for myself when I want to feel sunny. It's sunshine and summer bottled up for me. Makes me feel happy, carefree and fun loving. I think of the colour yellow when I smell this. It lasts a lifetime and is cheap as chips. Why pay an arm and s leg to smell unique with niche perfumes when this is so old no one wears it, making it niche and unique? I think of it as a hidden hell of a gem.

I love most all of Elizabeth Taylor’s Perfumes with the exception of a few I don’t care for like Rubies and Diamond's, I could never get past the Sharpness of that scent ever. This scent is one the few scents that can hold up to Winter, it cuts through the dense molecules like a Razor!!! Sharp Aldehyde of florals. Not a Warm Weather Scent at all. This is a Christmas Scent for sure. Beautiful Scent.

So 90s vibes it consider vintage classic style.. at first spray ive got in between giorgio beverly hills twist with amarige givenchy vibes and a few minutes it turn to Ysatis givenchy but lighter version with bit soft powdery aldehyde.. i guess that egyptian tuberose with jasmin and ylang2 combine together and slightly hint woody from sandalwood.. it so polarized fragrance.. just loved it ❤️

I just love, love, love White Diamonds. So much I am considering replacing one of my favorites with it. The scent is a powerhouse. So strong upon spraying I sometimes forget and overdo it, making’s myself choke. The dry down is the heavenly dream. I spray this all over myself before bed and on my clothes for the next day. So I re-enter the world in the morning with the heavenly dry down.

Love it♥️. It's a slightly sweet,powdery and soft delicate perfume. Not soft that it's a skin scent because projection is good but in a soft elegant way. Old fashioned maybe but i like the old fashioned scents much more than the nowadays candy sweet or fruity scents. Let me be the old lady scent lover and i will be happy. Longtivity is also above average. I have the vintage version. 😊

A great example of where the star rating doesn't do this fragrance justice. White Diamonds is a true classic, eternal, radiant and sparkling as its name. I can only imagine people rate it lower because of a perceived old fashioned vibe. But if you marketed this as the latest Tom Ford creation the same people would be clamoring to get it, paying 10x more and singing its praises.

I was so on the fence about buying this one but I’m so glad I did! I’ve started collecting vintage bottles to get deeper into history and deepen my perfume knowledge and have to say that a few I could not stand (Red Door, I’m talking to you). But this one is so sexy and clean at the same time, what is really unusual to me. Bold by still soft because of the soapy feel.

I just love White Diamonds so much! It’s my comforting scent that I always crave and come back to. It’s soapy, floral, & sophisticated. It’s very classic Hollywood glamour. The aldehydes compliment the soft florals in a very elegant, expensive smelling way. It’s so refined and glamorous. Elizabeth Taylor knew what she was doing when she created this masterpiece.

Im really in love with this. it hits me with like rum, cognac alcoholic notes. which might be the carnation, tuberose, aldehydes in combination. But it dries down very soapy, after 6-8 hours. (it last very long on clothes) I'm a big fan of spicy perfumes and now also this one. very mature scent for a confident women. a must have if you like vintage perfumes.

Perfect for Christmas time; sparkly aldehydes and warm white florals, it smells like a beautiful expensive soap... It is very very soapy with minimal sweetness and the tiniest hint of something dirty underneath. Like a sophisticated party with candlelight, gold sequins, champagne bubbles, scrubbed clean and glamorous but you're wearing an old real fur coat.

This bottle and the fragranced lotion were celebrities in their own right in our household growing up, I have many memories of waking up late for school and slathering a what could have been decade old bottle on my arms in the late 00s. VERY mature, a very comforting and classic floral, powdery scent. Mid 90s church lady.

The powder is fantastic. SPARKLY Thank you to the reviewer that suggested the EdP. It was a teensy bit harder to find the vintage (ebay) but still accessible and oh-so worth it. I love how the narcissus stands out. gorgeous. Less "scratchy" than the edt. I personally find it more wearable. [Review for frosted glass .5 oz eau de Parfum bottle]

My vintage EDTs: spicy lily followed by ylang-ylang, narcissus, and tuberose. Newly purchased EDT: a ton of emphasis on the neroli/orange flower and jasmine. Reminds me of Boucheron somewhat, but nowhere near as good. 😭 I hope the perfume matures to smell better, because I much prefer my older formulations.

I've been an unapologetic lover of 'granny' perfumes since high school, and this has always been my favourite. The aldehydes are STRONG in this one, but it dries down to a lovely jasmine and amber scent that lingers forever. Sprayed all over a big, snuggly cardigan makes it feel like the best old lady hug.

This smells sharp in the initial spray. However, the dry-down is so luxurious and fresh. Smells like a very expensive soap. Whenever I smell it, I always feel amazed at how great this perfume is. Mind you, I only have the EDT. It lasts the entire day too. This has become one of my favorite scents ever.

White Diamonds is literally so delicious. The heart notes are intoxicating, luscious. I am in love with this. Also, I love Elizabeth Taylor. I’m going to mix this with gourmand scents and maybe other kinds too. I feel like it is good for mixing to augment sweeter, fruitier, woodier or whatever else.

Did you guys know that Meryl Streep’s character Madeline Ashton (Death Becomes Her, 1992) had a bottle of White Diamonds in her bag? You doubt it? Just go and check the take where she dramatically breaks the car in the middle of the road under pouring rain. Old lady? Nooo! Old-money lady. 😏😉
