Obsessed. Counter-intuitively, this is a sweet, heavy scent that somehow wears very well in hot, humid weather. For me it's definitely an evening scent, and one spray from a sampler is enough to provide ample sillage. It's more syrupy than I usually like and I definitely agree with GizPop's assessment of Ghibli as 'upscaled scandal by JPG' - it feels like a designer fragrance but done with really high-quality ingredients and excellent balance. The other difference is that Ghibli offsets any sugar overload from the nougat with a green-sharp note (the leather?) that isn't immediately noticeable but is a beautifully odd minor facet, making the perfume feel much more lively & interesting than I first registered. Growing on me by the week. EDIT: I first wore this during a heatwave in Rome, and the nougat-leather harmonized beautifully with the high temperatures, urban pollution, and big-city energy. Trying Ghibli now in cold North-European weather it feels a bit harsher and more assertive, although still very much not a day perfume. Maybe this perfume just needs hot Mediterranean air to really flourish...

I don’t recall how I came about this brand but someone suggested I try khamsin although my eye was set on ghibli after my research on the brand. I got khamsin and said this is a TF ombré dupe ( didn’t know it was the same perfumer that created both) - thankfully, I got a sample along with the bottle so could send it back for refund. And then I listened to myself and blind bought ghibli - and as always, I was correct lol! (Yes yes I’m being sarcastic). An absolute gorgeous take on leather, I do not smell nougat at all but plenty of honey surrounding an abundance of leather.... Gorgeous, simply gorgeous! It’s not easy to find a realistic leathery scent for women without smelling like a dude and thus far I only succeeded to have one in my collection (Galop Hermes) - this is my second addition and a valuable one for sure... now excuse me while I go get myself a backup bottle as apparently this gem is discontinued../

I love and adore Ghibli. This one isn’t talked about as much as its counterparts, but it deserves some recognition. This is the 2nd Ella K I’ve tested next to Lettre de Pushkar. I love how Sonia has evoked a sense of exoticism in these fragrances. I truly feel like I’m transported somewhere else on earth when I smell them on my skin. I’d say Ghibli is pretty unique in that I can’t compare it to anything. Yes the note composition of Fragrantica is incorrect. See AleksOud’s review below for the real composition. I get Nougat dripped in honey & a little saffron, with touches of neroli & jasmine— The leather isn’t too prominent IMO, which I’m okay with. It feels very regal and enchanting. Job well done!

Very unusual sensation for me at the first sniff. Quite impressive, since this scent didnt sound like anything i smelled before in a perfume. It intrigued me. I wondered; what am i smelling? Something gourmand, dense and creamy, but not heavy. Its like a good dessert that contains the right amount on salt and sugar in it. But there is this expensive feel to it, thats very inviting. It says nougat. I agree... this is what you smell at first, and after a while, leather takes off. This is a very intense and sensual fragrance, strong but not "in your face". More so it gives off strong "atmospheric" feel to it. Very sexy!

I agree with Aeternitas below that this is perfumey, this is exactly what I thought too, think about feminine warm perfumes from 90s like Poeme. Ghibli however is more fruity, as if with plum juice but still warm and feminine, maybe because of flowers or honey. I can't smell leather at all, it is classically very feminine. Great for autumn or date night as it exudes warm woman vibes. The notes from their website: Nougat, neroli, saffron Imperial Arabian jasmine, hawthorn, toasted barley Leather, tonka bean, honey Edit: it developed that arabic oudy base that I don't like so I won't be buying a full bottle.

Realistic smell of honeyed pistachio and almond. This probably gives a nougat accord to the fragrance. The leather is soft and smooth. Sweetness is powdery with beautiful jasmine backbone. I usually hate sweet leather fragrances (especially plum-leather; I'm looking at you Bibliothèque Byredo and Wood Jasmin BDK), but this one is so beautifully done. Sonia Constant knows how to make soft feminine fragrances, even with notes that can be perceived as harsh and masculine. This perfume is full bottle worthy. Ghibli and Baiser de Florence are probably my favourite ones from Ella K.

This is divine if you want a luxe and rich smelling leather perfume. To me this does not have gourmand touches, it goes a little nutty but ever so slightly. It is a full on creamy leathery and jasmin scent but the blend is OMG. This smells like a luxurious perfume boutique for some reason. It smells expensive, it is unisex and perfect for cold weather. Great longevity, still got to test the sillage when it gets cooler outside but for me this is FBW🤎🤎🤎 great quality perfume! Not a safe blind buy, beware!!!

First of all, I can’t stand gourmands. Therefore a fragrance that has a lot of nougat in it should be very off the path for me. But no-no, this is not your average overly sweet cloying dessert in fragrance form. This is a very well balanced leather jasmine scent backed up with just enough sweetness from the nougat to make it very special. A very good and a bit unusual leather scent. Much recommended!

I discovered this gem upon its initial release a year or two back. It's a captivating blend of leather, jasmine and gourmand notes, prominently featuring suede and nougat. Jasmine doesn't dominate on my skin, but the overall impression is undeniably sensual. If you like leather scents but seek a touch of femininity, this is a must try.

Intoxicating. Huge sillage and staying power. Mesmerising but so synthetical! Not sure how much this perfume fits me, but I can't stop wearing it and I even HAD to buy it even if I did not finish the tester I had. One spay is enough unless you plan on asphyxiating the entire building. Good work, Sonia Constant!

Wow! This is so unique and beautiful. I don’t even like leather in fragrance unless it’s super minimal. BUT this one is different. This is the leather fragrance for leather fragrance haters. It’s hard to explain what it smells like, you really just need to try it!

Upscaled Scandal by JPG, with added leather and more complex bitter, nutty aspects. I find it quite oriental, reminding me of the bazar shops of Istanbul. Great quality, great performance.

Wowwww but also ???. Stunning and unique but also a little icky. Has a bit of a fruity medicine vibe but in a nice way. Insanely sweet but ironically tempers the leather so they balance each other out. I keep swinging back and forth between images of a spunky hot woman in stilettos and a fat sweaty over-the-top aunty wearing a rich perfume which has intermingled with her BO (I might have some kind of traumatic scent association tucked in my brain somewhere 😂). This frag is for leather lovers, so if that’s you then absolutely it is worth a try.

first sniff - sweet almost fruity. (but not) followed quickly by leather with a hint of leather cleaner/polish. it is sweet but I don't pick up nougat or anything nutty. the jasmine is definitely present, but its secondary to the leather. i wasn't sure I liked it the first minute or so, but after that first blast its leaning feminine sweet leather. i pick up some more notes - something kind of greenish and like I said a polish or plasticky note both in the background. interesting for sure. needs more testing.....

A leather fragrance that resists easy description, and I mean that as a compliment. The opening is deceptive, sweeter than you’d expect from a leather scent, but it shifts as it wears. By the dry down that recedes and something more masculine and grounded takes over. It’s chic in an understated way, left of centre, confident. This isn’t a scent that grabbed me immediately. It’s the kind that grows on you with repeated wears, once you stop trying to pin it down and just let it do its thing.

Oooo so much leather to my nose!!!Extremely strong opening leather blast!! I don't like the opening at all BUT after 15mins or so....it's starting to be sweeter,the heavy leather smell becomes warm,yummy very different than other leather fragrances though because of the sugary nougat note. I like it but I would prefer it even a touch sweeter, as the leather is still the predominant note there! I'll try again 100% !

I was confused by the fragrantica notes. According to the ella k website the notes of ghibli are: Nougat, Neroli, Saffron Jasmine, Imperial Sambac, Hawthorn Roasted Barley, Leather, Tonka Beans, Honey these make more sense to me. Its very sweet and floral to me with a leathery base. i've never smelled anything like this. I am still working through how much i like it. but its definitely interesting and unique.

Surprisingly, this is a very soft, pleasant, subtly sweet leather. The aroma is definitely very lovely and attractive, not suffocating at all as sometimes leather, jasmines or candy infusions can become. Very well balanced gourmand leaning perfume which still maintains elegance about it.

Ghibli is a feminine leather jacket scent. I don't perceive leather as an easy note, personally, and Ghibli managed to make it bearable - beautiful even. It does smell expensive and unique, edgy and modern. A strong like.

Aware- beast alert. Leather bomb; thick leather, soaked in honey and sprinkled with halwa. Not for faint hearted for sure. Intoxicating.

This is a gorgeous honey scent, no Oud no leather just a sweet bliss. Layered with Scandal will be amazing

Surprisingly perfumy for this simple composition. By “perfumy” I mean that stereotypical perfume cloud, like a bunch of pretty smells making one big pretty smell (ie, you walk by the perfume counter and every perfume is mixed into the air and there’s barely any defining qualities). So yeah, that, with an obvious leather note. I like the story and intention behind Ghibli, and expected to love it, but alas, I am not enchanted and must move on.

Ok... to preface this I am a leather hater. The moment I smelled this perfume something changed.. I have never heard of Ella K. I stumbled upon amber k looking for cigar notes... I then went on the website and ordered a few samples. I have to say, there isn’t a single one I tried that I wouldn’t go and buy the whole bottle.. and it’s expensive. ghibli is very similar to khamsin and the l’atai perfume but there’s something deeper in ghibli. This perfume is outSTANDING. I have never smelled anything like it. I can’t even describe it other than f*cking delicious. This stands out in a crowd and definitely gets compliments. It lasts so well too. I’m honestly in love with this brand. I cannot wait to get more in the future. It’s definitely a unique scent so I do recommend buying a sample before splurging for the bottle. If you are a self proclaimed leather hater.. try this out. This fragrance has opened my mind to leather notes! Well, Ella k’s leather. I don’t even care that this is a super gourmand and deep fragrance, I WILL be that person wearing gourmand/spice this summer.

Enchanting. Intoxicating. Sultry leather bomb, with supporting white florals. I see some comments saying that it’s an all weather fragrance, but this is exclusively for that fall / winter for me. I can’t tolerate edible, overly sweet gourmand fragrances because they make me nauseous, but I am so in love with this scent. I’d definitely classify this as gourmand-adjacent because its honeyed and rich. It’s my favorite from the line. Obsessed.

an instant love at first sniff. Its quite a simple fragrance that doesnt leave you wondering - its semi dry, semi creamy with a gourmand profile that isnt overly candy like or cookie like sweet, but rather comfy, cozy and ambery sweet. The sweetness stops where it needs to stop and so it rmains its chic profile.

I was excited about Ghibli because I’m really enjoying the house of Ella K and it seemed like this perfume would appeal to leather haters like me...but alas, it’s straight up leather on my skin. The leather is smooth and chic, but still leather, some sweetness and not much else.

I've never smelled any of her leather trilogy perfume. Knowing that she created Tom Ford's ombre leather, and ombre leather parfum, are these similar to those, or are they completely in another world?

my nose getting a bit of leather but for me thw jasmine and honey is more dominant and i give it like 44% men and 66% women not a perfect unisex overall 9,2/10
