Reflet Sur L'Okavango

Based on 4 full wears with a decant: This is an excellent sweet floral for fall and cooler weather in general. Honey sweetened, yellow pollen floating through the rays of a golden sunset. Niche, but extremely mass appealing. It’s a scent profile I really enjoy: elegant and put together, but still fun and charismatic. I would describe this as sweet, slightly powdery, fresh, floral. The first time I wore Reflet it reminded me of something I already owned: like an elevated, niche version of Prada Paradoxe Intense. They have zero notes in common, but the general structure and texture is similar. I sprayed them next to each other: Reflet is warmer and drier with a woodier base, while PPI is fruitier and sweeter. It makes me think of a shirt that you like so much you buy it in pink for spring/summer (PPI) and goldenrod for fall (Reflet). Since sampling several fragrances from Ella K, I have noticed that the house uses an ingredient or fixative that I find somewhat scratchy and irritating- it always seems to dry out my throat. However, this has been my favorite of the bunch and the only one I’d consider purchasing.

THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PERFUMES THAT I HAVE EVER SMELLED. You know you have found your signature scent when: 1) You've picked another perfume to wear, but wish you could rewind your day and spray this instead. 2) You get told by your other half (who is indifferent to perfumes) how good you smell multiple times per day while wearing this, and compliments from random strangers flood in as well. 3) You feel like the scent bubble this creates quite literally puts you on Cloud 9, with a mood changing boost of confidence. Naturally sweet, honeyed florals that radiate all day long like you've poured nectar from The Garden of Eden on your skin. This perfume just needs to be experienced for one to understand... or maybe we should just keep this little treasure to those who have been fortunate enough to find it to ourselves Excuse me while I declutter a few bottles to purchase more backup bottles of Reflets Sur L'Okavango.

Imagine walking past a beautiful girl with fresh washed hair that lingered and projects. Not saying it smells shampoo-like.. it gives slight resemblance of Gisou hair mist, but for your body (& hair if you fancy) --better imo. If honey in perfumes doesn't work for you like me this is def worth a sniff. The amarula liquor gives off the same feel as honey, but with the papyrus and acacia flowers it's truly a unique blend I didn't have in my collection. This scent radiates especially in the heat yet versatile enough that can be worn all year round day or night. This gem is underrated & unforgettable

I almost want to keep this secret to myself, but I also want this perfume to sell so it is never discontinued! I love yellow florals but I do not like honey when it smells sticky sweet. But this has such a NATURAL sweetness. It smells like pollen and nectar. I really don't think it smells like a designer scent, it's too crisp and organic. Now I have to start saving up.... This smells like one of those extra-warm days in early May where it almost feels like summer, but the spring flowers are still new.

The Okavango, a river in Botswana which inspired this splendid fragrance. Its delta is famous as the "elephant cemetery", it seems that the older specimens instinctively head towards this indefinite place, to die far from their family, their clan. A mystical place, a meeting of death and life. The life cycle that repeats itself. This is a strong fragrance, which on my skin appears clean and green, slightly floral, very pleasant. Very high class and elegant, ended up on the wish list.

Oh what a wonderfully feminine and elegantly pretty fragrance. Beautifully floral but with a lightness to it. Elegant yet youthful at heart. It has a soft honeyed nuance to it and a slightly powdery touch. Slightly reminds me of an elevated version of Narciso Ambree with the addition of honey-like sweetness, more florals and the musk dialed right back and powdered down. Although I would be in no rush to buy, this is full bottle worthy as a lovely daily wear.

It smells like happiness on a hot summer day. The opening is a lovely exotic floral shake that is intoxicating. It is literally a burst of positive notes like florals, tropicals and tonka bean. In concept the idea sounds cloying but it is definitely exotic and intriguing. I have actually traveled to the Okavango delta, and somehow this truly evokes it's vibrant sunsets, the wilderness, and it's lazy summer days.

What a dream. Like getting drunk on flowers and honey at one of Queen Titania’s midnight revels. Sweet and lush without being cloying. And I don’t pick up on the powdery note others mention. I lived in the sample for a few days and would love to add one or two of Ella K’s elegant bottles to my collection. Update: bought the bottle and now it’s one of my favorite “afternoon walk” scents.

Underrated gem!! Blind buy jackpot for me. This smells so good and so different to anything I've ever tried before. Warm, sweet, a little powdery but still airy and light, not cloying at all. Excellent longevity (+12 h) and sillage. Higly reccommend! Ella K is quickly becoming one of my favourite houses.

This is one of my compliment getters. Spray only a couple times, this is beautifully potent, Seductive and rich. I am at my last few sprays sadly, I need to buy the full bottle. Long lasting I get 10 hours at least.

most expensive perfume i've ever bought...but so worth it. i don't get any powdery notes, which is interesting because i'm usually really sensitive to powderiness. to me, this is just gorgeous.

This is lovely but I think it would annoy me after a couple hours. A wall of powdery golden florals.

An incredible journey in a soliflore fragrance. At first, it’s a flowery breeze rolling through the open door of a clean barn stacked with bales of hay. It kind of makes me want to sneeze, and is a bit overly pollinated for me. Within an hour, a hazy yellow floral overtakes the hay as the acacia blooms. Over the next few hours, it is unmissable, filling the air with the scent of warm, sugared, yellow flowers. The majority of this fragrance feels closer to a gourmand than anything else. It is absolutely candy sweet, sort of tooth ache sweet. I’ve never smelled acacia, but the flower here is deep, heady, and nearly tropical. Again, for being a supposedly one-note fragrance, the depth is tremendous. It remains delightfully herbaceous throughout. Although I found the opening notes troubling and repeatedly felt assaulted by the strength, the ending half of this fragrance is gorgeous enough to earn my overall appreciation. It’s incredibly beautiful. As the sweetness softens, so do the final floral notes return to the scent. An experience in complexity, the finale of this fragrance is both calming and invigorating. I applied my sample with a heavy hand and was smacked by this fragrance for hours and hours. Longevity and sillage are more than adequate.

I'm testing this one today from a sample I picked up over the summer at Jovoy in Paris. I'm not sure if it's carried in the U.S. I wanted to add the other notes from the perfumer, which include several notes native to Africa (found by googling) which were new to my nose: Head: Amarula Liquor - Papyrus Heart: Acacia Flower - Woolly Caper - Iris Base: Tonka Beans - Sycamore - Mopane This fragrance is sweeter than I typically like, but it's quite intriguing, very airy, soft, fresh, somewhat fruity (though not any kind of fruit I recognize), with something dessert-y wafting through, probably the Amarula liqueur, which is distilled from a fruit native to sub-equatorial Africa. The beverage supposedly tastes like like fruit and butterscotch, which seems right to me from the perfume. I would love to hear from any folks from Botswana, South Africa and nearby countries, or people who've spent time there, who've tried this one!

This reads to my nose like a high quality simplified version of a scent like the tragically reformulated before discontinuation Poeme by Lancôme. It’s a sweet nectar-y yellow floral. Smells a bit more modern and doesn’t have any vintage notes to it. I can definitely tell a difference between the two. It’s simple and linear. Quite sweet, flowery, girly. Could be considered in the same category as a number of other sweet floral designer perfumes heavy on yellow flowers, but the quality and refinement of this one makes it stand out. Where some designer fragrances fail and smell cheap, this is luxe and quality.

a beautiful interpretation of acacia blossom blended with honey. The floral note feels soft, luminous and slightly creamy, while the honey adds warmth and richness without becoming overly sweet. The composition is elegant and distinctive, highlighting the character of the acacia in a very refined way. What makes this fragrance even more impressive is its performance the projection and longevity are remarkably strong. A unique floral with excellent presence.

I usually shy away from super feminine fragrances because I can't stand synthetic gourmands or saccharine powder bombs, but this is lovely. Comes across as very "natural" and sweet the way an actual flower is sweet. It's hard to imagine how anyone could dislike this, it's so lovely and agreeable and tasteful

This is just strong sh*t. Nuclear power. Because I almost git nausea from a sample I will never use this scent again. BUT if you like Alien, this is wpuld be right for you. It has the same sensual vibe and date-night fragrance. Give it a try but spray carefully!

Finally, an Ella K that doesn't just smell like a generic designer scent. It's not a love, but it's more interesting than most of their other perfumes put together.

I smelled this today in Jovoy. I found it really captivating. A honeyed floral that has something unique about it and remains classy.

Imagine a citrus-kissed, yellow honeyed floral with aromatic notes, with slight boozy and green nuances too, but overall a yellow floral and solar scent (solar here is never sunscreen, it's vibrant and cheerful like sunlight). As the scent dries down the powder level starts to rise, but it always keeps its yellow color. I like this house but this one couldn't meet my expectations... Why? Because (especially the opening) it resembles one of the mainstream fragrances (not Poeme) to a striking degree. When I looked at the notes I'd gone wow, but the scent itself doesn't reflect that. It's not bad, but it's very very far from where I wanted it to be. Tag(s): yellow floral, sweet, honeyed, citrusy, boozy, powdery, solar

It's nice. Beeswax with some florals that smells like osmanthus to me, since I have no idea what accacia smells like. This also is supposed to have amarula liqeur note. I had that when I was in South Africa many years ago. I don't really smell it in here tbh. I do see the resemblance to Prada La Femme, but Prada La Femme is an extremely sharp and screechy powdery soapy mess. This is just way more refined and superior quality. Overall, nothing mindblowing I must admit. It was a blind buy that I will end up keeping. One thing I will say about Ella K fragrances is that they are VERY well blended and smooth. Update: Upgraded to LOVE. It just blends amazing on my skin. The best everyday scent in my collection.

Wore this today after not reaching for it in quite a while and realised how generic this was. A very generic moderately sweet powdery floral. If you tell me this was a $20 drugstore perfume I would not question it.Why did I even buy this? Thinking of decluttering but will try wearing a few more times. I have to say though this is very strong and I choked myself out with 4 sprays. Was almost giving me migraine too. Maybe thats why people like this?

I'm just gonna tell my story here. I had left a nice review yesterday about this honeyed floral fragrance.. Some realizations came to light and an update must ensue: Yesterday at work I smelled a dookie smell while in a small room with 2 other people. It smelled like when a toddler has had a full diaper that hasn't been changed in a little too long. Only other time I've smelled that was the exact situation I described. lol, anyhow. I literally thought wow, okay... that's got to be one of them since I knew it wasn't ME. I smelled like this beautiful honeyed-floral nectar. I kept this to myself, of course. I came home though, and I had to tell my boyfriend. Lmao, he doesn't know these people anyway! *Cut to him walking in our room earlier and immediately saying "it smells like shit in here". I had just reapplied this fragrance. I seriously thought he was being sarcastic since I had just sprayed this. lol We spent some time laying with each other, and he said he had smelled it then as well. And when I walked by from the hallway, he said it wafted over to him then. I am thankful to him for pointing this out because I only smelled that dookie smell one time myself, in that room. 😂 All the other time, it was the lovely sweet floral nectar. But, he had the same description I did when I smelled it myself. Yikes. Now, I scrubbed myself head to toe last night to make sure I got all of this off me. Twice. I like to wear my fragrances on my skin and I did not want any of this coming back out to play. It does have solid sillage/longevity, after all. I got a decant, so maybe something was off due to this or something. Idk. I LOVE Poeme de Sagano and this is raved about so 🤷🏻♀️ I don't know what to say. I felt inclined to do a little damage control. I told my co-workers, I'm sorry if I smelled bad yesterday and gave them the explanation of what happened. lmao I am hopeful this is a one-off type of situation. I haven't seen anyone else mentioning a fecal smell at all so, yeah. I am hesitant to change my reaction on this because I am thinking something happened with my decant. That said.. this was overall not a pleasant experience with this attempt, personally. This is a steep price to pay for a FB, and after my initial wearing it's going to be hard to want to spend the money on the real deal. Had to change to a dislike 'cause no one wants to smell like dookie.

I love the smell of real Acacia flowers, so I had high hopes for this one. Unfortunately it doesn't capture the beautiful acacia, but instead does the odd job of smelling dusty and creamy at the same time. As if I've slathered hand cream on my skin and then patted it down with baby powder. I've tried it in summer heat and in cool autumn days, and will maybe give it a last shot in spring.

I was really excited to sample this but ended up disappointed. I was hoping for a clear crisp honeyed floral but got a powdery mess instead. It wasn’t clean/crisp at all but instead a thick floral powder, lije a old fashioned soap

These are the ones I have trouble with making up my mind.... I had a decant that I was holding onto until the weather got a bit warmer. I decided today was the day. Upon initial opening, I thought I loved it... it was very Bounce dryer sheet-esque but with a powdery yellow floral note. I do get a bit of that same Ella K vibe. Little salty action. Reminded me quite a bit of Valaya, but less linear, more interesting. But then, in my car, I started to get this odd familiar scent... Little background...I have a screened in back porch and every year I buy dog friendly spider repellent sachets and put them under all the couches and chairs. They are slightly medicinal, menthol-minty, citronella. The smell is off-putting but only lasts a few days then dissipates. THAT smell is very much like the scent I started to get from this. By the time I got to work, I was convinced I did not like this. But as soon as I walked into my office, I got compliment after compliment for my perfume choice today. So, to sum it up, it has been 6 hours. This is now back to dryer sheets and yellow florals and it is lovely and still going strong. Just not sure it is full bottle worthy yet. I may buy another decant and give it one more go.... to be continued...

After owning this for many years I realized yesterday that I’ve never reviewed it and that’s a shame because it’s such a beauty of a fragrance. Echoing the reviewer belows comment about being a compliment getter, yes this is. I kid you not, every time I wear it without fail I get complimented and or asked what i’m wearing. This is signature scent worthy honestly. It works well in all seasons & occasions. In the humid summer it really just radiates around you and people can’t help but notice and compliment the pretty, soft but powerful at the same time, smell. It’s very feminine, has a floral, clean & airy feel to it with a touch of honey. It has such a beautiful, long lasting sillage as well. Seriously this stuff lasts 12 hours and projects wonderfully through the majority of it. My bottle has only gotten better with age and I 100% would repurchase this when I run out, it’s my fav from her line. Ella K has a way of doing simple things really well. There is an elegance about her compositions and this one is no different.

As a fan girl of Sonia Constant's creations, I was so excited for this brand that she started. Reflet Sur L'Okavango is just such a beauty, I have never tried something similar, it was truly love at first 'sniff' for me. Not all notes are listed in Fragrantica, there is also papyrus and musc, and because of these notes, it makes the perfume unisex. Although the scent is sweet and to my nose leans a bit feminine I don't want to create boundaries for this perfume because I think it may reveal itself in a totally different way on a man's skin. The longevity is perfect, it has a very beautiful sillage at the first couple of hours. It is not a dense perfume, more airy, lingering in the air. Very modern in my eyes and could be worn all year round. And what surprised me the most I can imagine people of all ages wearing this perfume, which happens rarely. Often perfumes have a certain category of age that they fit perfectly, but this one... Is so so versatile. Beautiful scent...just BEAUTIFUL.

A vintage feeling ✨️ An acacia iris fragrance that delights me with papyrus and caper ! She's dense and feminine, extremely strong flower bomb in the best way. She's nostalgic of a type of Perfumery that is going extinct yet uses super modern accords, what a fun way to play ! So Unique ! Not for everyone. Pretty and feminine. Solar and yellow 💛 She is a muse, so overprotective of a graceful femininity that no longer exists much, that moves slow and floats. And she's also a beast..overspraying het is a legal offense, so use in moderation and LET HER BREATHE :) She's a song brought by the wind...on a summer evening, with a golden pink sunset melting the sky, while sipping on a sweet lightly alcoholic drink made with botanical extracts 🍸wearing white succulent flowers in your hair perfuming the air. She's dense and mature.

Wonderful fragrance that makes me daydream about magical places, perfume dedicated to a trip to Botswana on the banks of the Okavango river, acacia, caper flower, merula, sycamore, an original and not at all obvious composition... the magic of this golden elixir it moves me, first of all I smell the acacia with its wonderful honeyed scent, then a fresh fruity accord always mixed with a honeyed scent, not at all gourmand or cloying, the beauty of this perfume is that it dances in a vortex between fresh and sweet without ever making you understand what his steps actually are! I love it for this indispensably, I like its originality, its monstrous sillage, extreme performance, it has no seasonality, I have used it both in summer (in the evening) and in winter and I have always found it perfect, for me it is pure magic

This perfume smelled so familiar to me and I realize why- it's Tilia but less sharp and aldehydic, and with a more honeyed floral vibe. There's a dryer sheet element but it's very tame compared to Tilia. Just like my experience with Tilia, I didn't necessarily understand the hype with Reflet Sur L'Okavango. It's a pretty, sweetly clean perfume with fantastic longevity and decent projection...but it doesn't hit the spot for me. Something about (I'm guessing) the acacia note reminds me of orange blossom, and I tend to find these types of perfumes boring. I tried NR's Pure Musc Blanc and it makes sense that they have some similarities since Sonia Constant is the perfumer for both, but Reflet Sur L'Okavango is like Pure Musc Blanc with a heaping dose of solar, honeyed florals added on top.

I ordered a couple of samples from Ella K. One of them was this fragrance and the other was Camelia K. I only liked Camelia K during the fruity opening spray. After that, it turned very masculine on my skin very quickly. Most likely this was due to the combination of vetiver and patchouli. Ok, I tested Camelia K again today. Maybe I’ve been sniffing too many fragrances lately or there’s something wrong with my nose, because this time this was gorgeous and very feminine! Reflet Sur L’Okavango is absolutely lovely too. 🌞🌼 Sweet and soft, and despite its sweetness, not heavy at all. I sensed a honey-like scent, even though according to the official website, there isn’t supposed to be any honey in it. But perhaps the honeyd note comes from the Amarula liqueur and acasia.

Nostalgia... of something I can't define...! Soapy that is almost clean bubbly but it's not that clean with light colored sandalwood, furniture, rugs, raw materials are all in the basement, the basement is not that closed with small windows all around. Old tile flooring, floral floor cleaner, & some more plate washing soap.... Wait! this is like describing the grandparents house!! Oh... now i got it :D This blend is quite amusing as it describes some scenery and not just another perfume! i believe it's an art in a bottle. Beautiful.

Unlike the reviewers bellow, I don’t get Alien at all but instead to me on paper smells identical to jimmy choo- i what choo. It falls in the same category as Ch gg maybe with a hint of rolling in love . It is almost as if you mixed those three and this is what came out. I enjoy it but to me it is not worth the price especially when you can get “i what choo” for less than a third of the price.

I was so excited to try this, and my sample finally came in today. As soon as I put it on, it reminded me of something I already have. To me, it smells like a higher quality Prada Paradoxe. It's beautiful and has stellar performance, but I can't justify spending this much on something that smells so similar to something I already have 🥲

This is a milder sweeter warmer version of Alien by Mugler. You dont need both. Quality is excellent - high percentage oils. There is an initial patchouli spike similar to Alien but this smooths right out and becomes velvet. Longevity is 4-6hours on skin. Good projection and silage. Solid 8/10 fragrance. Bottle design 10/10.

Some comments are so cringeworthy...exchange a Flowerbomb Flanker for this one?! Someone has no limits, but hey! Good luck! In your world this might be a fair trade... In reality, one mainstream of 100$ for a niche of 250$?! Hell yesss! Who wouldn't go for it?! Isn't it @MichelleSouza?!

Got a sample of this due to the honey note people are describing, I’ve never smelled acacia. I expected something ultra sweet and flowery. This smells like a flowery musky shampoo- very clean smelling. It’s not bad, but it wasn’t the honey floral I was looking for.

Beautiful, honeyed floral scent with a powdery base. This is very lady like and elegant, it has amazing projection and good longevity. This is in the same class with Valentina Poudre, Narciso Rodriguez Poudre, Poeme. Love this one. I would like a full bottle.

Throwback at first spray! Yellow flowers and dried wood. Very close to Berlin by Joop! Sunny, joyful fragrance.

Similar to L’aimee by MDCI but that one is far more elegant in my opinion

Honey+mimosa+dry white woods. One of my favorites from this house.
