The Ruler

This perfume is so familiar, yet it has many hints of being something that I have not had before. This takes the sweetness of Maison Margiela's "by the fireplace", and adds a bit more "masculinity", or determination to it. When I first spray it on myself I feel the intended warmth, paired with freshness, in the form of rose and patchouli. I do believe that the patchouli is what makes this fragrance stand out compared to other alternatives. The wood, tonka beans etc gives this rich, cozy feeling towards the end of the wear. It usually lasts 7+ hours on me. Now, does this feel like a fragrance that should be called "the ruler"? Yes, and that would probably be because of the aggressive (in a good way) patchouli and rose at the beginning that makes you want to take another whiff, to fully understand the fragrance. It thus makes a part of you more worthy of being explored, meaning that you are interesting; an enigma that feels familiar who has the ability to take control and rule. This fragrance is quite expensive, but it has never felt "cheap" on me. It is worth the money since it delivers the unsaid promises of a premium pricing. With that said, this is a good buy, but because of the high price, I would recommend to start with a 10ml to see if it suits you. I am looking forward to seeing what this brand can offer in the future, especially if they continue with Jung's theory of archetypes. What would "The Artist", "The Outlaw" and "The Explorer" smell like?

Freshly cut tulips with a “juice” on the stalks and a bit of sweet and powdery undertones. It’s very extravagant, because you can feel a prominent animalic note right next to pretty grassy notes if you inhale more. Interesting stuff! Follow me on IG: scent.guide

It’s a travel to my childhood, green and citrus vibrant and then turns Woody and warm with the Cedar and the cashmere and finally is supported with that wonderful Tonka, patchouli and vanilla which make the whole composition just in Magic. Thank you Ellen.❤️💚
