I did try Kenzo Flower but I find it very harsh with the "plastic" note. I must admit, yes it's the only one so far that is similar to it.

I've heard people describe a doll head scent yet I never could make a connection. That is until now. Yep this smells like new Barbie head. I'll be honest, I love it! I have not smelled a fragrance out there quite like this one. I was fortunate to had found very inexpensively through Ebay. I would not spend those crazy prices for this as it is after all, an Ellen Tracy scent. This smells nothing at all like the original Ellen Tracy. Not even close. The only way to describe this really is a dolls head. You get the vanilla notes and not quite plastic I just don't have the words to explain what I am smelling. It does smell fantastic though.

I like this one a fair amount. But that's to be expected since I love powdery perfumes. I don't find this one overly heavy though. I tend to prefer the opening verses the drydown because the cedar comes a bit forward and I am kinda iffy on that. Makes the dry down a bit tart and gives off a slight celery seed scent. But even so, I'd definately wear it if gifted but I don't think it's original enough to justify purchasing as it becomes harder and harder to find. Ok lasting power.

I think that the notes are not correct also.It smells to me very violetly.I smell lots of warm viollets!I want it very much !I looooove it

Linda Allard by Ellen Tracy I usually do not like orientals, or most any heavy scent, but I like this. It’s a very light, sophisticated oriental. Opens with a blast of fresh, dry, roses and a dash of fruity yellow peach. Develops into a spicy brocade of carnation with a weighty dose of tonka beans. A bit of jasmine sweetness well woven into a delicate touch of freesia and cedar complete the refined embroidery, while a clean, elegant sandalwood supports the whole structure. Tonka beans here are used in vanillic substitution fashion to impart a dry, spicy sweetness. But it’s too dry and not sweet enough for vanilla per se. (Same effect as with Guerlain’s use of Tonka Beans instead of vanilla in the heavy dark purple hitter Insolence EDP.) But no violets to my nose from my skin here. My chemistry tends to abnormally magnify and project anything heavy and/or spicy-resinous-woody so this one wafts clearly up to me. This would probably be too light for those who traditionally love orientals as a group. However on me, it is just restrained enough NOT to develop into a suffocating miasma of a too heavy base, which occurs too commonly on my skin. Could easily be worn in the daytime as well. Quite elegant...well balanced, nicely done.

Thanks to Fragrantican generosity, I was able to try this fragrance. I typically enjoy ET fragrances, and "Ellen Tracy" by ET is my favorite; I had high hopes for Linda Allard, especially with the prominent sandalwood listed combined with tonka and cinnamon--how could I go wrong? Well, sadly, I go wrong with carnation. In this case, the carnation took over this scent, leaving me with an arm that smells like I've been holding a pee-soaked baby. I'm uncomfortable with how urine-like I smell to myself! I also think the freesia is there, giving a plasticky sweetness that does not work with my perception of carnation. Ugh; the first 30 min of this fragrance are not fun for me at all. If carnation works for your chemistry, you will find a heavy dose here. Thankfully, after an hour, the carnation fades and only a sweet, powdery scent remains. It is still sweet, from the freesia and rose; with the rose, powder and tonka/vanilla, it vaguely reminds me of Tocade, but milder and with less of the plastic-vanilla. I don't smell sandalwood, and the cinnamon may be there but only just the tiniest dash. I do smell peach, and it's a powdery peach in the style of Tresor and Ex'clamation, but much more faint than those. Also vaguely SunMoonStars-ish, with the vanilla/peach/carnation combo. What era is this from? It's not dated here, but it smells like a late-90's fragrance to me. For better or worse, this fragrance faded to near nothing after 2.5 hours. I won't be reapplying, as the carnation phase was too much for me. If you enjoy a light floriental with a heavy dose of carnation, I would recommend this fragrance. But if you are like me, and have uncooperative carnation-phobic skin, stay away!

This is a deadringer to Kenzo's Flower with the sweet powdery note of rose unlike kenzo it's more of a softer and sweeter undertones of Peach and Cinnamon kenzo is more of a drier and ozonic feel. The opening of spicy note of carnation with of the velvety texture of rose dries down to fiery sandalwood and sweet cinnamon dries the top note. The powdery feel disappears as sweet nutty accord of Tonka Bean opens the middle notes as the hint of soft peach makes it's presence known and also adds to the softness of the scent. Jasmine with it's faint & elusive scent blooms. Freesia is an understated note in this perfume with it's quiet and suble sweetness ends this scent with an quiet grace. Linda Allard i tried to like this but what turned me off is the harsh powdery opening prevents me to love this scent.

On me, it's like baby powder with sandalwood in it, which comes off kind of soapy, in a warm way. I don't particularly care for what it's doing on my skin, but then again I am trying it during winter. I will try this in warmer weather to see if there is a miraculous change...

very warm and sophisticated baby powdery smell. Too bad its a limited edition But it does fade rather fast. In 2 hours, it got so weak you could hardly smell it. And the sillage is not great ether, but better than the lasting power.

I was gifted a set of vintage samples that includes Linda Allard. The card dates it to 2001. The "peach" note is calone. There's freesia and violet... Okay lol, I see what's going on. What we have here is a 90s aquatic floral fruity thing, like J'Adore, L'Eau D'Issey, Tommy Girl, etc.... Mixed with a 90s gourmand spicy amber vanillic base, like Liz Claiborne Spark, Anne Klein II, Coty Ici, etc. I think the "Barbie doll" scent other people are picking up on is the tropical florals, which have a vinyl texture, in combination with the waxy, powdery smell of vanilla and tonka. Retroactively weird, but it's par for the course for the time period. The problem isn't that the perfume smells bad... moreso, it's a strange idea, it doesn't smell particularly good, and I don't think this combination of notes compliment each other as well as they could have; I find the perfume discordant. Lancome Tresor has the same ideas and basic structure as this perfume, but it's harmoniously blended and smells a lot better. Others in a similar vein; Rare Gold, Amarige, Poeme.

In my experience, carnations and violets have very different smells. I detect no carnation and lots of violets, in addition to vanilla, but no cinnamon, in Ellen Tracy LINDA ALLARD. This leads me to conclude that the notes listed above are erroneous. In any case, LINDA ALLARD is a smooth woody floral with lots of sandalwood and a big vibrant but also somehow juicy floral opening. This is unexpectedly nice. I think that my expectations were extraordinarily low because I receive a sample of this special edition edp, along with a sample of Jessica Simpson TASTE DELICIOUS (a Demeter-like facsimile of Betty Crocker canned white frosting) and also of Boss WOMAN, each time that I shop at a certain unnamed emporium online which claims to change their free sample offerings weekly (ha--perhaps they mean annually?). Anyway, LINDA ALLARD is an enjoyable wear through most of its life, though the sandalwood begins to turn near the end, so I won't be adding a bottle to my collection. Actually, I don't need to: should I wish to wear this fragrance again, I have samples in ample supply!

Nowhere near as strong, sickly,sweet and powdery as Kenzo Flower- this is far more closer to the discontinued Alessandro Dell Acqua for Women- soft, clean, gentle, powdery and fresh. However, there is a deep rooted sweetness that could be construed as slighty cough-medicine like and a touch of what smells like violets making it resemble Bonds Broadway Nite. If you are having trouble finding Linda Allrd, give Broadway Nite a try- very similar.

Fellow member gave me a sample (thank you!). On me? At first apray it was very "boozy", then quickly evaporated into the sweet vanilla-like scent of the tonka bean, then it settled into a powdery floral, still carrying sweet notes. Not particularly long-lasting on me. One thing's for sure: both my daughter and my husband liked it on me!

I agree with the other reviewers in that this is not your traditional oriental. It really has none of the oriental earmarks on me. I get a pretty soft candy sweet/tart floral with a faintly powdery base. Clean, nice, pleasant and makes you feel good. What more could you want from Day wear fragrance? Very nice

hmm... i applied this on my wrist for testing, and upon first impression it smells like a new barbie doll. that plastic powdery smell. pretty strange. after about 15 min it mellows into creamy sandalwood with just a hint of cinnamon. nice and comforting.

Very unoffensive, sophisticated, grown-up, expensive-smelling. Good daytime fragrance for women in their 40's. The carnation and peach keep coming out on my skin. I can actually pick out the notes fairly well. A nice one to have around.

Very nice sweet woodsy scent! I like this one very much.
