Love Notes

I see I'm the first person to click "I have it" and since that doesn't often happen I'm pleased to post my impressions. Love Notes is not a floral. There, I've said it. Permit me to coin another category: "fruity woody musk". Raspberry is the featured fruit here in the same vein as Ungarro's Apparition. But Apparition is a sunny, bright, even brash spring/summer gourmand while Love Notes is a soft, creamy-smooth, ambery-woody wonder that will warm the soul and delight the senses in both fall and winter. Love Notes opens with sweet, nearly gourmand raspberry with a hint of wood and quickly dries down to a rich wood with a thick vein of raspberry enhanced by the chewy texture of patchouli that enhances every fragrance in which it appears (to my nose). I didn't parse out the pear but after seeing the list of notes I recognize its buttery contribution to the raspberry mash. Delicious, comfortable and enticing. Cashmere wood and amber get the credit here and add a resinous near-cedar note that lovers of Bronze and Ellen will recognize. Substitute raspberry for the violet in Bronze, toss in some amber and you have Love Notes. Remove the amber, substitute licorice for raspberry and you have Ellen. Each sprays on with a visible oily sheen that accurately predicts their tremendous longevity and comfortable sillage. Ellen Tracy fragrances have rapidly ascended to favorite status in my wardrobe for the complexity of their compositions and the quality of their ingredients. You simply cannot get a bigger bang for your buck in any other line.

As I'm juggling about 5 bottles of perfume in my arms trying to get out of Marshall's without going over my $125 gift card's balance, I see this small but tall little box. First thing I did was check the price...$3.99. Aweseome! Then I turned it over to see what the heck it was. Ellen Tracy........love several of her fragrances....Love Notes. Hmmm.......never heard of it. So, I add the little bottle to my pile and grabbed my phone to come to this site to see what's up. I was so glad that I grabbed up this little jewel. It was the last one. I wouldn't have gotten to try yet another of ET's frangances that I would fall in love with immediately. Another sweet floral with patchouli for me, but there's just sooooomething a little different that makes me grab for this stick spray until my bottle arrives. This site is going to make me go bankrupt ;o) But I love it!

It's been a long journey to get here. I've tried many a candied patchouli. I started with sampling miss dior cherie and all the flankers. None quite hit it for me part of the problem is not really liking mandarin or strawberry notes. From there came oriens. I love the raspberry and praline, although there is something a bit "scratchy" about it. And from there to this, the fat round love notes. The pathouli in here is thick and more on the earthy/dirty side whereas the above mentioned were cleaner, ligter patchouli. I would say love notes is darker, deeper. It's raspberry is plump and juicy. There is still something a bit spicy about this fragrance like oriens that I really enjoy. It lasts a very long time with that very rich patchouli fading off.

Bought this as a blind buy for 8 dollars at Marshalls and I'm glad I did. Mmmmmm - smells delicious. It"s a sweet amber floral that's perfect for year round because it"s sweet but not too sweet. Powdery sweet and flowery at the same time. The cap is what makes the bottle look 1980's. I save all the caps from fragrances I had in the past so I replaced the cap with a Kenneth Cole White cap and a small burgundy tassel. It fits just right and now the bottle looks up to date and beautiful. Longevity, about 4 hours. Siliage is about arms length. Should go back and buy a few more for Christmas giftlng.

This fragrance makes me happy. I am not a patchouli fan but I take it to be a necessary evil. Evil is a bit strong of a word but patchouli is one of those essences that is overused and overdone in women's fragrances. Love Notes by Ellen Tracy uses patchouli with a knowing that is spot on. I smell some cantaloupe in this scent that is absolutely wonderful. The scent reminds me of lady who has intentionally held onto naivete for the purpose of not taking herself too seriously. This scent is one of my favorites and I often use it as my travel fragrance since it goes from day to night with ease.

I just blind bought a 3.4 oz perfume/lotion set from Burlington tonight for 9.99. Success! I really like it. I have to agree w/ someone in a prior review that said it is very similar to Rihanna's 'Reb'l Fleur'. It smells a lot like it! Almost a dupe in fact, but not quite. I feel the difference is, this one is a tad sweet, and brighter than RF, but patchouli heavy just like RF. I wouldn't consider this blind buy safe in general, but I I would if you like patchouli/woodsy scents. It's very pleasant. Woodsy, spicy, a tad sweet and creamy in the dry down. I'm glad I got it!

Love this perfume!! I am into gourmand type of scents since it is winter and this is perfect. It smells sweet, milky and caramel like which I love. Longevity is moderate to good. It sits close to the skin and is mainly a skin scent after a few hours which I don't mind. This is my second Ellen Tracy perfume with Pretty Petals being the first one. Both are great perfumes. Price is so reasonable and affordable. Goes to show you that you don't have to break the bank to smell great.

This perfume was a pleasant surprise. I was expecting another sweet candy scent.. It opens with a pretty raspberry amber wave then the Cashmere shows up making it smell like a lighter softer version of Euphoria! Like Euphoria for beginners... The dry down is soft but keeps the fruity note throughout... Love Notes is a classy/sensual perfume at an extremely affordable price... Note: If u hate the weird caps , Ocean Pacific bottle caps fit perfectly and look way nicer ; )

My first designer leather bag was by Ellen Tracy. The line has always reminded me of a stylish sophisticate on the go. Most of the fragrances in the Ellen Tracy line are reminders of this. Love Notes takes a well rewarded different path and I appreciate it. This has a hint of cantaloupe that is balanced perfectly. I never expected to love this so much. I have several bottles and I will always keep it on hand. Another plus is this scent works well on a variety of ages.

Strange, but I've been reaching for Love Notes a lot this season. Initially maybe because it just seemed safe. Now, I don't really want to wear any other fragrance. It smelled familiar, and then I realized this scent is quite similar to Coty Wild Musk Patchouli (discontinued). A few days ago, the guys at work complimented me on it. Hmmm.

For such an inexpensive fragrance, I absolutely love this summer fragrance. It doesn't last like i usually like, but I don't care! It is so refreshing to wear and with its low cost, I can spritz all day!

Smells like a weaker jimmy chop edp. Her bottles are so old fashion but the fragrances are good!!

Recently l was on a business trip with my husband over the US Thanksgiving holiday to Southern California. This is my perfume stomping grounds. I love visiting the Marshall's stores and discovering hidden gems at prices that make me succumb (happily) to blind buys. At a mere $4.99 "Love Notes" fell into the price range and perfume notes I would consider for a blind buy. I feel that this review would be easiest if you allow me to break it down into a questionnaire. Check yes or no: Do you like raspberries? Do you like the smell of hot buttered toast with fruity jam melting on top? Do you like the smell of old, musty library books? Do you appreciate the scent of amber/ambergris accord? Do you swoon at the scent of a freshly powdered baby's bum/skin? If sunshine had a scent would you prefer that to the "smell" of a rainy day? Do you get weak at the knees when you smell a food cart at a carnival selling cotton candy? (Sugar floss/candied sugar)? Do you like the scent of moss growing under a tree in the woods...perhaps with dank, earthy mushrooms growing in proximity? If you answered "yes" to 4 or more of this perfume may be of interest to you. If you decline even one back away. These are shockingly strong notes. The bottle is frosted glass....a bit cheesy with the musical note -staff which seems to be almost a afterthought decaled onto a decent shaped bottle (albeit the cap is a bit clumsy to deal with). All in all a good scent for the price point and I am enjoying it very much this holiday season. There seem to be no florals that would "clash" with any of the good smells I am surrounded by at this time of year. If you enjoy "Midnight Fantasy", or "Dark Kiss by B&BW", you will probably appreciate this. Projection: 5-10" Longevity: 2 hours or less Silage: not much...on MY person. Best wishes! xo

Love Notes is a winner! I purchased Love Notes by Ellen Tracey 2 days ago. It was a blind buy. When I sprayed it in the cap, I was immediately intrigued by it. So intrigued, I wore it to work yesterday--for parent-teacher conferences. Usually, I wear a fancy, special occasion fragrance to parent-teacher conferences, but I was so drawn to Love Notes--no other fragrance would do! Come to find out, I had chosen amazingly. Love Notes lifted my mood and confidence with its fruity cashmere essence! It provided me with a light patchouli-amber bubble that I felt comfortable in my whole shift. As I communicated with parents, they appreciated my scent and provided me with a sea of compliments! It was great! I am an avid fan of the House of Ellen Tracey. I love her cosmetics, skin care, and fragrances. I own 8 of her fragrances to date, but of those I've worn--Love Notes is my favorite. This is one that would be a total easy-reach, if I had a smaller collection. Longevity and sillage is average--it has to be re-applied--that I do not mind. I have a set that came with a 3.4 oz. bottle and a lotion. The lotion was nice too. Most of the time, I give my lotions to my 19-year -old daughter, but I'm keeping this one, lol! Love Notes is very nicely priced and smells very modern. The bottle is pretty, also! For an instant pick me up--spray liberally! Not a safe blind buy, but perfect for the woman who doesn't mind small doses of patchouli.

I came upon the name of this scent accidentally while reading another review, and stored it away in my mind thinking I had seen it or something like it at one of my local grey market stores. Sure enough, found a whole set w a 3.4oz EDP that I wouldn’t have looked twice at without stumbling on that review.... Ellen Tracy just wasn’t anything noteworthy IMHO, I have seen the brand for some time at these stores, always inexpensive, never in higher end stores so I just didn’t pay any attention to it. Well, I’m glad I saw that review. I think if this juice was attached to a bigger name, it would be far more celebrated! It’s a really nice fragrance in a truly ugly bottle. That cap has got to GO... The complete package is lacking, I would totally overlook this as dated and cheap had it not been for that one review. Instead, I found myself a pretty decent everyday scent! Sillage isn’t enormous but decent, longevity is meh (a few hours). I like the overall composition, it’s sweet but has a decent depth. Nice fruitchouli, very wearable and a great “I want to smell good but not waste my $120 fragrance” alternative. :) I will be on the lookout for “Bronze” now!

I have picked up several Ellen Tracy perfumes lately and although I like them all, I am surprised by how much I like this one. I see it is described as sweet, and typically the sweet frags aren't my favorites. Somehow this one is different, and it is bordering on love. At first spritz I get a lovely pear which is so delicious! Almost instantly the mandarin joins in. Such a happy and uplifting mix even just these first fruity notes are! I see that a lot of people get a lot of patch from this one, but luckily I don't. I have a love/hate relationship with patch. After a while this progresses, and while it is still sweet, the mild florals are coming out to play with a little bit of creamy sandalwood. From there through the dry down is my favorite part. The comforting, warm cashmere and amber appear join in. What a treat they are! I can imagine if one is feeling bad that a few spritzes of this would surely bring cheer and comfort. For the few dollars I paid for this beauty, I really didn't expect the quality to be this good or that I would enjoy it so much. I'm so happy I found this and I highly recommend it.

As a rule, I shy away from sweet frags. They're just a little too youthful for me (I am nearly 42, and can't pull those sugar-bombs off). This one, though, absolutely radiates from me. My chemistry somehow always enhances and maximizes the amber in any frag that I wear that carries this note. In this particular bottle there is something almost "jelly bean"-ish that mixes with this warm and soft amber/patchouli powdery pixie dust. I love the effect. It goes on syrupy sweet for me but within 15 minutes it's a different scent...soothing, sweet and cozy. It reminds me of making jam in a barn...all the woody earthy scents around me blending with the sugar and berries. I love this stuff. I paid $6.99 (USD) for this at TJ Maxx. I have also purchased the purse spray for $2.99 (USD). This isn't my "favorite" fragrance, but it's in my top 15, definitely! Love Notes deserves at least the #11 spot!

Love Notes smells just like Empress oil by Nabeel. (Replace some orange with raspberry. Last time I wore it it smelled like butter and raspberry jam?! A couple of reviewers below likened it to a raspberry jam in the woods, and that is a great description! This is a sweet, heavy patchouli in the same category as Jimmy Choo or Angel. (Raspberry-orange version), Though I find it to be a little lighter and more fun than Angel. Maybe if Angel married Euphoria or Si. The amber and cashmere woods levels out the patchouli and fruit making it a deep, rich scent. This really projects during the first few hours, then becomes a warm soft skin glow for the next 3. Total fade out at around 5 hrs for me. You can get this at Marshalls, TJ Maxx, or online. Very yummy stuff for lovers of fruitchoulis and deep, sweet, fruity-woody scents.

Reminiscent of a softer, less complex formulation of Thierry Mugler's Angel, eau de toilette. Oriental gourmand perfumes make for exotic, alluring fragrances that--especially involving patchouli in the top notes--turn heads and peak interest even when they're not popularly appreciated. Personally, I'm a gigantic fanatic of Angel. But, truth be told, I simply cannot afford it. Yet, Ellen Tracy's fragrances are regularly available at all your local outlets (TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Burkes even), and easily under $10. My advice to the leery buyer is to try something different. You're purchasing a great bargain; a large-size [3.3 oz.] bottle at an imitation-level price. One might be surprised how effective such an unusual, sultry fragrance can be on the right person.

I have recently picked up a LOT of ET fragrances at TJ Maxx--mostly because they are all really cheap--but only 4 of them seem to be real keepers--the Bronze,for it's coppery warmth, Fashionista, because it reminds me of Bath and Body Works discontinued Deep Aqua, Pretty Petals, because it is crisp and peppery for a floral, and this one, which is slightly floral and a LOT gourmand, but somehow doesn't make me feel like I'm wearing a fruit salad. It reminds me a little of both Angel and Dark Kiss from B&BW--and also a bit of Red by Giorgio. Maybe it is the careful use of cashmere and patchouli that keeps the fruit in line--anyway, it's a nice choice for fall and a helluva good deal for $5.99!!

Update I'm thinking this has got to be a hidden gem. Where's the love for Love Notes? I get the tartness of raspberry, but not the juice. It reminds me of rhubarb. I recently bought Nina Ricci Dancing Ribbon, and the two share a lot of qualities. I have worn this at least a dozen times this winter, with Nina on my wrists and Love Notes underneath my shirt. On a day that I felt headachey, it was annoying. But on days of normal health, it is extremely sweet, tart, and comforting woodsy patchoulli. I find myself reaching for it on days where I want to feel cozy with a lot of layers. It's one of those frags that need 10 minutes to settle down, but then you're good to go for the next 8 hours.

Love Notes does have the same dna of Flowerbomb and Euphoria. I haven’t smelled Rebel Fluer in a long time, but this is a familiar scent. I have Rogue and there may be similarities, but that one is a little overwhelming for me initially, this is not. I probably won’t reach for it all the time, but for 6.99 at TJ Maxx it has a lovely vanilla, amber, cashmere dry down without an overpowering patchouli. I think this would pair well with higher end perfumes in the same profile such as Angel, Flowerbomb, Coco Mademoiselle etc while allowing you to save a little money, 3 sprays of this to one of those, lol. And if some of those are intimidating, Love Notes is a good beginner patchouli.

This is a nice, inoffensive, casual fruitchouli fragrance. I would recommend this for anyone just beginning to build their collection. The florals in this aren’t prominent on my skin. I get patchouli, red berries and pear. Not an overly sweet perfume. Good year round, best suited for daytime wear, no age restrictions. Great affordable gift option or blind-buy. Safe for work, church, school. Moderate longevity and silage. I like it!

This fragrance is a good example. As to why you shouldn't turn your nose up at lower costing fragrances. It's a really beautiful expensive smelling scent. The notes blend very well its also not too sweet. I got this at a low cost and didn't expect to actually like it because of the notes and price. I'm really enjoying this fragrance and happy I took a chance.

patchouli, hint of pear, florals, cashmere wood, sandalwood, amber but mostly patchouli with a fruity floral foundation that is not really dark or seductive but something office safe and pretty; I like it but I don't love it because it gets lost amid all the other fruitchoulis out there that are a bit more dark and dangerous.

I wasn't sure at first but after it settled down I was pleased by the woody fruitiness. Someone else said "banana" and while I thought this at first I was pleased by the warmth and spicyness.

This is very nice. 7.99 for a nice vintage looking bottle. The scent is so pretty. Rosy raspberry with a nice musk base.

I bought this perfume in a gift set with three other ellen tracy scents. (Ellen Tracy, Bronze , and Tracy) Love notes was the best of the three in my opinion. It’s a nice airy woody -patchouli amber scent. It sits very close to the skin and it projects about an hour or so on me and is a skin scent for about 3-4 hours This is great for people who want a barely there scent. I wouldn’t call this my favorite though. I think the scent DNA is very pretty but it’s too watery and airy for me. I this scent would probably be great as a hand lotion. It’s somewhat a mature scent and it’s not offensive. However i this is not the kind of scent that would be everyone’s cup of tea. I’ll use the remaining 15mL of this that I have but i wouldn’t recommend a repurchase. There are just too many better scents out there.

I've had several Ellen Tracy perfumes and they've been a bit hit or miss for me. Bronze was one I disliked, even though it seems to be popular, but I love Inspire and Tracy. I thought I'd give Love Notes a go, together with Pretty Petals, as I saw the body mists being sold online for a good price so I figured I had very little to lose. Pretty Petals is OK, a bit shrill and very citrussy at first but it settles and becomes softer after awhile. I thought the notes in Love notes sounded nice, even though it has patchouli (or patchpoopy, as I like to call it!) as a base note and I HAAAATE that with a vengeance! I thought though that as it's only a base note it would be very subtle and I'd hopefully barely notice it. How wrong was I?! I spritzed a little Love Notes body mist on my wrist and was overcome by the stench of patchouli! Urghh! Literally, all I can smell in this stuff is patchouli and it drowns out all the other notes, especially the raspberry and I normally like raspberry in perfumes. It didn't smell even remotely fruity or gourmand to me, despite some reviewers on here saying that to them it smells that way! Also, one reviewer has compared it to Apparition and, again, to me it smells nothing like that (and I did have a bottle of that, and it's very fruity and raspberry'ish!). Even so, I tried to tough it out and wait a few minutes in hopes that it would die down and actually start smelling nice but no, after about 10 minutes it smelled exactly the same and I couldn't stand it any longer and had to scrub it off me. I was thinking that it reminded me very much of another perfume that my sister used to have years ago when we were teenagers, and that I'd always detested, and I was wracking my brain trying to remember which one it was and then it came to me ... Cachet by Prince Matchabelli. Love Notes has the same stinky, cold, patchouli unpleasantness to my nose yet I looked up Cachet on here to compare notes and the only two these perfumes seem to have in common is the patchouli and amber. Strange!! It also reminds me of one of the Dior perfumes, again that my sister had at some point, but I don't remember which one - maybe Diorella or Diorissimo. Anyway, suffice to say that Love Notes is definitely NOT my cup of tea and if anyone in the UK would like to do a swap for it (I might even give it away!) let me know!!!

Sweetness and patchouli, this one. I want to love every scent created by Ellen Tracy. I guess it's because Bronze is the scent responsible for opening my eyes to all of the perfumes I was missing out on by constantly repurchasing my old stand-bys and not expanding my perfume horizons...and I want to love Love Notes but I can't quite do it. Weegee's beautifully written review made me grab this with glee when I saw it at TJ Maxx (that, and my desire to own all of ET's scents). I think at this point I expect to fall madly in love upon first spray of any ET perfume. I know now, after testing and learning much more about single notes, that it's the patchouli doing me in. I love this note on other people. But on me, not so much. I am going to keep trying it, especially now in winter, and see if I can't get it to grow on me a little more.

Another blind buy gone bad....least this one was cheap. I thought that this would be something I would enjoy as I do love sweet and patchouli. And I have other Ellen Tracy fumes that I thoroughly enjoy wearing. This, however, turns into screaming plastic baby doll head on my skin. I enjoy the first ten minutes than BAM!!! My arm starts smelling like a decaying Baby Alive. Just yuck on me. Am envious of those who can enjoy such a cheapie! This one lasts too...I scrubbed twice and could still smell the plastic.

This fragrance is but a whisper of what it once was. I have a brand new bottle, most recent formulation and the performance is exceptionally bad. Completely watered down. Hardly a scent at all which is so very disappointing. What I do smell briefly is synthetic raspberry with a hint of patchouli.

A good strong amber scent with a vanilla finish. Reminds me of BBW amber lotions.

I was enticed by all the nice adjectives by previous reviews but this did not have any dimension at all. The first spray was headache-inducing and I was hoping that the dry down will save the day but it’s grape juice for top, middle, and base notes. I don’t have an issue with patchouli but as someone said before, this is more like watery patchouli. Very watery patchouli. I agree with @Seawrothy ‘s exact review. This was my experience with the bottle I got unfortunately. I tried to give it to my mom to see if it’ll match with a more mature palette but she absolutely hated it as well. I told her that I had purchased three perfumes with three different price points and I asked her to tell me which one is the cheapest. She immediately knew it was this one. I offered to give her the perfume in case she wants it as an air freshener for the bathroom and she said Febreze smells way better than that and immediately gave it back. I saw the price tag of $6.99 and I was hoping to be proven wrong (Elizabeth Taylor cheapies are absolutely divine for their low price point), but the price point for this one makes sense with its underwhelming performance. I collect perfumes so I will keep the bottle but even the bottle was poorly made. The cap has such sharp edges and a tacky metallic finish. This is my first Ellen Tracy purchase and my last.

Too much patchouli for this gourmand lover... It's not as bad as Angel or Chopard Wish, but along the same lines. It's ok, I can detect the sweet, so maybe I will wear this. Got it for a song/price... so no biggie. ^^ That was my first impression. :) Upon first blast, it's very dark red patchouli. And patch just doesn't work with me... when well blended it can really make a gourmand scent, but it's loud and proud right from the start. Like a huge red velvet chocolate box with patch inside. :) Then it seems to get sweeter and it's tolerable for me... One squirt didn't last long on my bare skin, and the patch did subside giving a sweet woody scent. I will try it again, this winter. Not a summer scent for me. I would have loved to smell banana bread like other people! I love sweet breads! I wish I got the fruits in this... but the patch was just too loud. I'm glad I gave this another chance. It's soooo sweet, almost too sweet? And yet I call myself the Queen of Sweets... This is what Beyonce's Pulse NYC could have been if PNYC wasn't such a hot stinkin' mess. Love Notes is a strong (so far...) sweet patchouli with fruits and a hint of powder. It's very comforting, not something I'd wear to go out, or be sexy, just for me. Like on this cold Valentine's Day Eve... haha. This just keeps getting better! I wore it all day on Friday, and kept refreshing it from time to time (long lasting, but I was enjoying being able to smell it myself).... very much like a raspberry red velvet cake. While it's a bit much to take (sweet-wise) it's def better than my first impression! Five days later-- I can still smell this on my coat! Who ever said this is like a cousin to Jimmy Choo EDP was right! Jimmy Choo Exotic is a raspberry scent, but more tropical. Love Notes is a raspberry jam in the woods. :)

You can find Love Notes for a song, and for the price, it's some nice juice! Love Notes is sunny and fun with an "artsy" vibe. It reminds me of this cool hairdresser I had when I was in high school. She had crazy colored hair, wore pretty batik dresses and beaded jewelery, and always seemed happy. Her station in the salon smelled faintly of Nag Champa (despite the chemical smell of the bleach and dyes she used on me) and there were peacock feather arrangements and highly-stylized wooden giraffe, elephant and zebra figurines positioned about the station for you to look at when she stepped away to mix your haircolor in the back room. She was a bubbly lady, but if you needed advice or consolation she'd be right there to listen and offer thoughful, helpful insight. I loved that simple, funky, eclectic time in my life. This is a pleasant "entry-level" patchouli fragrance for the person who likes fruity scents. The woody notes and patchouli are distinct in the composition, yet they seem "easy to digest" because they're surrounded by the sweetness of the fruit salad-ish top notes. It's a linear composition that others can smell if they're in close proximity. The bottle of Love Notes itself is kinda cheap looking and silly, but who cares? It's the perfume that counts, and this easy-breezy juice will have a place in my summer rotation for those days when I'm feeling carefree and smiley.

I just smelled this tonight at Marshalls, and really wish I'd gotten it. It is very similar to Reb'l Fleur and maybe even Flowerbomb. I have Reb'l Fleur, but am unable to wear it. One outing was all that one got, because the patchouli in that overpowers me. In this, patchouli is pretty dominant too, but I don't seem to find it as annoying. I think this is much nicer than Reb'l Fleur, but if you like one, you will probably like the other. My husband liked it too, but didn't love it. I may end up going back for it. Hope they still have it, because I think this just might be a hidden gem as another reviewer said. Update: The full size bottle sells for five dollars at Marshalls, and I may eventually get it. For now, I bought the small purse size spray of this to try. It's strong stuff. It has great sillage, and decent longevity too. I'm just not sure I "love" it. I love how strong it smells, but I'm just not sure it's "me"....If you love Flowerbomb or Eurphoria, give this a try. It wears really well.

My bottle was leaky so I wasn't too pleased about that but since I got it for super cheap at TJ Maxx I guess I can't complain too much. The scent itself is a soft fruitchouli. It reminds me a bit of Ari by Ariana Grande but with an added "bite" from the patchouli. I also agree with the Jimmy Choo/ Angel / Euphoria comparisons. While Love Notes doesn't smell like a dupe of any of those, it could easily be a cousin. Fruity with teeth. Unlike those three, the sillage is quite low. I have to press my nose to my skin to detect it after an hour or two. Love Notes is a nice scent at a fantastic price but for me it's just not unique enough to desire purchasing again.

So I just got this perfume in today and off the first smell I am mediately recognized it from another perfume I like. I kept thinking what persons do I have and what does it smell like! And then it came to me... it smells exactly like rebel fleur by Rihanna! I ran to my bathroom and pulled out rebel fleur and the resemblance is uncanny! I bought this bottle of perfume for five bucks and rebel fleur was about $22.If you want something that smells exactly like rubber floor without paying up to 20 bucks for a bottle then get love notes it smells so good and has a more raspberry turn of this perfume it really smells amazing! And for only five bucks it’s a steal!

Yes this is a hidden gem! I don't know what it is, maybe the amber/manderin combo but it gives it a gourmand quaility to it, makes it yummy. It also makes me think of my mother, she was a musician and loved anything with musical notes, she would have loved this bottle with the g-cleff on it. She probably wouldn't have cared for the juice, too sweet for her tastes(and I wouldn't blame her, it is sweet, almost too sweet for me). If she were still alive today I'd get her a bottle of West Side or Notes from Robert Piguet.

I thought I would really like this one but unfortunately, this perfume gives me a horrible headache! The few times I've tried this, there is a part in the perfume's dry down where I feel like I have Angel by Thierry Mugler or Jimmy Choo's original scent on! Must be the patchouli....I don't think this perfume is like these others exactly, but it has some certain notes that give me a migraine just as those others do...It is a berry, spicy, musky, PATCHOULI scent that is just NOT meant for me!

Gorgeous, sweet, fruity patchouli, but no where near overwhelming. Strange, but this summer I've been craving a lot of deeper scents. With the heat I normally like to stick to lighter scents. I reach for this one a lot. Don't let the low price fool you! There are a lot of great ones in the Ellen Tracy line. I hope they keep offering us more. Other similar type scents-Angel, Queen, Chopard wish, D&G Anthology La Roue de La Fortune. If you like any of those you will probably like this too.

Goes on Banana bread/vanilla and watery mall-floral. Dries to a less banana-y scent, but by that time the sandalwood has hit and it's a sweet, fruited sandalwood scent of the type that bores me to tears. Nothing intrinsically wrong with the scent except its weird banana bread onset, but it just never develops into anything I like. An office-suitable scent if worn in moderation

This is my 2nd Ellen Tracy purchase. Definitely a fruitchouli nice and pungent in the opening. Kind of boozy. On the top there's a peppery kind of spice note which I believe is the wood. Bright and cheery if you like or love patchouli. I'm over 40 and I think this fits a more mature scent profile but of course any one at any age can enjoy. I adore her Bronze fragrance.

I'm glad I only bought the body lotion since this is so similar to my Reb'l Fleur, Imari Seduction, and Love Fury. Update: I have the bath gel and a small spray. I now find that this is the Strawberry Shortcake version of Jimmy Choo. Fun and yummy for such a bargain. It also has the creamy, milky quality of Halle Berry Reveal the Passion.

Very sweet in the top notes, sicky sweet to my nose, it made me nauseous, not good...just not very nicely constructed, too much sweetness on woodsy notes and a watery patchouli...isnt smelling very attractive in my opinion..I like most Ellen Tracy, that one is a cheap concoction..but fruits on patchouli doesnt agree with my nose.

This perfume smells so much like Queen by Queen Latifah! They share the balsamic, warm spicy, woody, patchouli notes. The difference in the notes is that the Queen has the vanilla and aromatic notes and Love Notes has the sweet and fruity. I prefer Love Notes as to me it's actually not as sweet as the Queen by Queen Latifah.

Every time I buy a new fragrance and "hate" it, I find it has patchoulli as a major note..... every darn time! I have finally learned to look them up on Fragrantica BEFORE I buy in order to prevent a mistake and not just regret a mistake... NOTE TO SELF: hey, ding-dong.....howsabout sampling first?!

I usually love Ellen Tracy perfumes. So I bought this one. Sprayed on quite a bit, but can't really smell it. Maybe I got a bad bottle. Or maybe it's just me. This one's going back. Ps. Nothing like femme noir. That one I LOVE!!
