Woody, warm spicy, aromatic, powdery, fresh spicy, fresh, unisex, sensual, cozy, comforting, nostalgic This is really beautiful, it smells just like a mountain cabin, and is sooo nostalgic! I immediately picture sitting on the front porch of a mountain cabin looking out at all of the pine trees while fresh snow continues to fall covering the landscape. The warm glow from the fireplace is reflected through the windows where everything is cozy and comfy. This is similar to Replica Autumn Vibes in the way it evokes an immediate memory. Autumn Vibes is very reminiscent of fall, while Apres evokes more of a wintry vibe, although I find it fitting for both seasons. It immediately brought to mind trips to the mountains with my family as soon as I smelled it. I don’t yet own Apres, but just received a sample of it with my most recent order, and am planning on buying either a small bottle or travel spray. This isn’t my typical fragrance style, but it evokes such wonderful nostalgia for me that it’s something I’d like to have in my collection for those occasions when I’m craving this particular vibe. For reference, I typically reach for vanillas, marshmallows, gourmands, and beachy/coconut fragrances. I’ve become a big fan of Ellis Brooklyn fragrances, particularly over the past year. I seem to be enjoying their newer releases the most. I really love their mists in Marshmallows (my fave!), Sand, and Vanilla Sin. I also own their perfumes in Vanilla Salt, Queen’s Caramel, Miami Nectar (my favorites!), Salt, Vanilla Milk, and Myth.

Maison Louis Marie Bois de Balincourt, Commodity Book, Le Labo Santal 33, and MM Autumn Vibes all smell sharp and sweet on my skin, like melon. I believe it’s the way that sandalwood is blended in those fragrances. My skin just doesn’t agree with it, This is not the case here. This is an inviting, woodsy scent. It starts out in that sort of “classy hotel lobby” place that Santal 33 occupies and mellows out within a few minutes and gets a bit more powdery and green. It also becomes sweeter, not in a gourmand way, or a floral way, but in a way that just makes sense. Its part of the experience. I think this is actually really well blended and could be a signature scent. It also has decent lasting power, especially for this designer. I can still smell it on my arm after 5 hours and it lasts on clothes for even longer. Definitely full bottle worthy. Consider trying this if you want a green scent that doesn’t smell like pickles.

You would think this is SUPER woody, smoky, outdoorsy - and maybe it is to people who are more used to Designer or fragrances available at Ulta/Sephora - but this also has a sweetness to it too with the vanilla, cardamom and praline notes that definitely come across to soften it. Perfectly unisex. This is a beautiful, easy wear (in the cooler months especially) type of fragrance. Yes it is definitely a woodiness frag but it is not on overload because it's balanced with the other floral & sweet notes, which just help to round it all out. This is super underrated IMO and if a popular niche brand came out with this now Youtubers would be singing it's praises. A great one to go back to as we start to approach Fall 2023 (in this corner of the world anyway*)... It is lovely! 9/10 ... the only thing that could make it better if the quality was done like MFK & PDM has in theirs. But the scent profile itself is top notch.

I tested this once and after smelling myself all day I had to pick it up. This smells like drinking bourbon at a ski lodge in a pine forest. I adore how sharp pine trees smell, so this grabbed me instantly. On my skin it lasts about 6-8 hours and I get some of the woody pine scent all the way through. The juniper and spicy pine in the top notes are addictive to me. The warm boozy sharpness and cozy vanilla sweetness in the background blends with the cedar-y woodsy notes. This is so pleasant and comforting to wear in the freezing winter. I would definitely test this first unless you know you love juniper and pine and can handle the whiskey note. Ultimate winter fragrance for me. I think it's woodsy and green enough to wear all through the spring as well especially if your climate is colder. This would be bomb layered with something to bring out smoke and vanilla, maybe Commodity Velvet+ or By The Fireplace.

I’m in my coniferous era. Presently loving on pine, cypress, balsam fir, juniper berries, cedar, and such. On my skin, Apres smells like a sublime combination of forest, Glossier You Doux, and Replica By the Fireplace. I get juniper berries, suede, labdanum, and bourbon very heavily in the opening. Twenty minutes in, sandalwood and cedar take center stage. Those two notes are prominent in equal measure here - an aspect I enjoy most about this fragrance. I can pick up the praline and vanilla when I go looking for them. Really loving this one. It’s nuanced and addictive. Crisp, aromatic, woodsy, boozy, cozy, and warm. A little sweet, subtly creamy, faintly soapy. As much as I love floral gourmands, I especially love masculine-leaning unisex gems like this on myself. A Top 3 from EB, for me, along with Salt and Florist. Added to Full Bottle Wishlist.

I don't understand why more people don't talk about this fragrance, it's a work of art. I actually feel a rush of cold air when I sniff it, and then slowly I am transported from that initial blast of coldness into a warm, luxe ski cabin. It's exactly unisex, (this would smell fantastic on any gender) totally unique, special.. perrrrfect for winter. It's extremely addictive. Smells like the outdoors, like mountain air and forest pines, but then it still 100% reads as a perfume.. not like I just came in from rolling around in the dirt or anything like that. It dries down to this sexy, sweet, expensive suede with bourbon.. just delicious. I've been rocking this on cold days, and it performs well for me. This is a gem. If you are interested but unsure, I highly recommend. Yes! Go for it. Beautiful fragrance!

Love love love! I tried it in store and then thought about it on occasion for a couple of months, then purchased a full bottle when I saw it for 50% off on Sephora. Luckily it worked out for me - it's stunning! I've been trying to find a woody fragrance that I actually like (close contenders have been Liis Bo and MLM Bois de Balincourt), I think its the added spicy foresty vibe that helps this one out. It's far from what I usually wear but for some reason I've been reaching for it so frequently. It's already in the upper 80s where I live and I wouldn't say this is particularly a Spring or Summer scent, but I don't care. Definitely in my top 3 Ellis Brooklyn fragrance next to Myth and Miami Nectar.

got this in an EB coffret sampler and this is by far my favorite. i love love LOVE wood and the cedar is sooo forward in this. i go absolutely feral for cedar scents and so, so many fucking fragrances say they have cedar, and then it's just like a la croix level whiff of it below 9000 other notes of sandalwood, pine, etc. and i never really get what i want. reminds me of you doux in a way, but less feminine and much more forward in its woodiness. most likely gonna get a full size of this soon, because i doubt the sampler will last me long. i've had it for only a couple days and i find myself just repeatedly spraying it on myself @ my desk bc it smells so damn good

gaaaaah this is EXACTLY what I've been looking for! That spa scent. Very highly coveted by me. Every time I leave a spa, without fail, I cannot stop smelling myself, I almost consider skipping showering after cause I just want the scent to stay on me foreverrr and hate the thought of washing the spa-ness off of me. I would live there if I could. Picked this as a sample with a Sephora order and my life has never been the same. So much herbally, woody goodness. This is totally aromatic. I hope to find a slightly cheaper alternative someday. If not, they better never discontinue this

I'm obsessed with this perfume. I'm a big hiker and camper and this smells just like the back country to me.. makes me feel so cozy. It's perfect for all weather - adds warmth in cold weather but it also somehow manages to be cool in hot weather. I love to layer it with Super Amber too. I actually don't really get the bourbon notes as much, to me its much more cedar, sandalwood and juniper. But its beautifully rounded out by the faintest hint of vanilla which isn't really that detectable but softens the wood perfectly. The only thing.. I just wish it lasted a little longer.

this is what a sexy scent is to me it’s been awhile since i’ve smelt this and i loveeee it, it’s dark and earthy genuinely smells like the forest super wood heavy but the vanilla and whisky still peak through on my skin i get a heavy dose of the cardamom and vanilla which i adore this is also the longest lasting thing i’ve tried from this brand yet outside of vanilla milk definitely added to my full bottle wishlist this does have the weird random bitter thing that i’ve smelt throughout this brand but i love it in this fragrance since it’s already so deep

I got this as a sample and my mum fell in love with it! I love the scent a lot, and thought it would make the perfect gift for my partner as well; he loves it and I love the scent on him (I always tell him that he smells so good when he's wearing it). The longevity and projection are just perfect - it lasts a while on skin and longer on clothes, and you can definitely smell it on someone else. It's a masculine pine-y spicy moment, sort of like a ski lodge or fancy hotel after you've been out in the cold.

Truly unisex. Don’t let the votes put you off if you’re a female! This is the ultimate cosy winter fragrance. It remind me (probably like everyone else) of pine trees when the season is moving from autumn to winter. When you want to cozy up in the woods/mountains around a fire with a blanket, some booze, acoustic music playing in the background and good friends. It’s warming, comforting and smells like the wilderness... it’s beautiful and extremely underrated.

Amazing. It smells like a comforting winter day. Makes me think about how I would walk to my grandmas house in the middle of winter and go eat soup and watch a movie. Cozy, a little minty in the opening and very refreshing. I sprayed it on at 8am and at 4pm I’m still getting compliments about how good I smell. I also got mine on sale for $75 at Ulta. If you can find it on sale, buy it!! Beautiful dark green bottle with magnetic cap. I love it

This is the fragrance that solidified my love for juniper berries. Very tart, almost sour, but is grounded by the middle notes. This has such a crisp, piney quality. Think Maya Nijie's Nordic Cedar (another favorite with an almost identical profile). I've only had a travel size since I, unfortunately, don't live in a city where the cold lasts long enough for me to justify a full bottle. If I lived somewhere snowy, this would be my signature.

Received a free sample of this from Sephora and fell in love. I always think woody scents lean masculine, so I sprayed my husband. It smelled even better with his skin chemistry, and I purchased him a full bottle specifically to wear for our Christmas parties! Haha it is a very fresh, green, woody scent, but also airy. It reminds me of a pine forest on a mountain after it's rained. Gorgeous fall/winter scent, but not unisex in my opinion.

I am obsessed with this! I ordered the discovery set from Ellis Brooklyn and I was so disappointed in every scent except this one. It's the PERFECT late fall/winter fragrance; somehow both cool and warm, coniferous with a hint of sweet booziness to round it out. Blends with my skin so nicely, and I don't actually find it masculine. Just makes me think of snow, woodstoves, warm drinks, and cuddling. It's really unique and beautiful. 10/10.

Well, I got a compliment from a 5 year old little girl that her "auntie smells so good, I want her to sleep in my room" when I hadn't seen her in a while and was not going to be sleeping over. The only compliment I'll ever care about for the rest of my life. Après is a keeper! (Would not suggest a blind buy, but if the kind of strong masculine leaning forest scent that SLAYS on a woman is your thing, it's definitely worth the try!)

This is a love for me. I smell the woody with a vanilla bourbon note. Not sweet vanilla, but a warm amber vanilla. I also smell the fresh & cozy juniper. Juniper berry is one of my favorite essential oils, it’s like a lavender to me. Gives me 6-8 hours of wear with moderate projection. Juliette Has A Gun Not A Perfume is my ride or die. Pear Inc, Clean Sparkling Sugar, Burberry Goddess, and Book Expressive are favorites.

This is actually really nice and melds the best of several scents into one! Santal 33 mixed with By The Fireplace and some pine. The strength is rather lacking but it doesn’t deter me. The solution is just overspraying. Thats isnt an issue either because its so pleasant and rather natural that I don’t think anyone would be mad at this. Its safe but different and thats what I was looking for with this! Great fragrance imo

Testing my sample; opens like evergreen pine needles, quite potently too. The whiskey and suede emerge as it dries down, and though it's boozy it's less literal, like the smell of whiskey in the air. Dries down to a woody vanilla. I can see the comparison to Santal 33, there's something dill-like as it dries down. Perfect for autumn and winter, this would be great to wear around Christmas holidays.

Very similar to Fille en Aiguilles from Serge Lutens, minus the dried fruit and add in a dash of boozy praline. Honestly, I find this fragrance charming and delightful for the fall/winter months. Bracing, crisp walk through the woods with a promise of a hot toddy, back in the cabin. The listed notes seem quite accurate to me, though the sweeter notes are very light and in a supporting role.

I love this it’s the kind of woody outdoor scent you want from your favorite house candle. Different than many woody scents I’ve tried as it’s not too masculine and it’s not mossy or dewy. I see the description “rabbit hutch” from the ai suggestions and while I don’t get rabbit I do get hutch? If that makes sense. It’s like I’m pulling out an old sweater from a cedar chest. Love love love.

Smells like coastal pines, perfectly unisex. I don’t know if I can picture myself buying a bigger size because it’s not exactly my scent profile, but for a woody fragrance this is quite pleasant. It’s soft enough to be nice as a perfume and not make me think of a B&BW room spray. I look forward to wearing it around Christmas time, maybe with Clinique’s my happy cookies and kisses??

If you want something woody, this is woody! The cedar plays a huge role in this, balanced out by the sandalwood. It's warm, slightly sweet and creamy, and it's probably one of my favorites from Ellis Brooklyn. It has good longevity, and really shines in the autumn and winter, when its kind of chilly and you want something cozy.

I absolutely adore this. It does something to my emotions and I am happy to just use it at home because it makes me feel like I am in a cabin in the woods. Wonderful for fall and winter for everyday use, though probably not an office scent, because it could be overwhelming for some people.

This is becoming one of my favorite fall/winter scents. It really smells like a cabin in the woods, like freshly cut wood, with the perfectly blended boozy note. It's just glorious. How does this compare to Stash by SJP? Edit: I got stash out of curiosity. They're nothing alike...

This smells very similar to By The Fireplace, but not as sweet. To me it's a TRUE smell of burned pinewood... in fact, I've always wished someone made a perfume that would smell like burning pine wood... so I guess you could say that this is a dream come true for me!

I loveee this scent for every season. I purchased this in the winter and it projected incredibly well then. This spring, it’s reading as fresh and boozy on my skin. I’ve recently started layering it with Yum Pistachio Gelato by Kayali and it’s sooo good.

I live in Canada, our winters are incredibly cold & snowy. “Après” depicts a perfect scent for us who understands cold weather. It is truly a stunning scent for the cold climates. I’m surprised no one is talking and writing about this Beauty!!

Wood of all kinds. If you love the scent of anything woody, you’ll adore this! Dry wood, damp wood, freshly cut wood, pine needles, tree sap. If any perfume were to be an “ode to wood,” it would be APRÉS, and I love it.

This is so smoky and yummy, I love it. I don't own too many perfumes with cedar and this one is very cedar forward. I get more juniper on the dry down, and the cedar lets some of the other notes though which is nice.

Reminds me of walking into a fancy cabin with bar and a roaring fireplace surrounded but mountains and woods. Sweet, woody, not too boozy, expensive, slightly feminine leaning. Beautiful

As much as I love green fragrances, mountains, pine/juniper & guaiac wood, I should really enjoy this more. Many have described it as a "cabin in the woods" & "mountain forest" fragrance & both are accurate. It layers well with Ormonde Woman and Glossier You Doux (both of which I like), as there's both pine & bit of an incense-y earthiness in it. However, it also reminds me of Replica "By the Fireplace," & that is where it loses me. The latter is a great fragrance if you're into smelling like you've spent a week in a tent next to a homemade campfire, subsisting on s'mores. I am not. I like my trees unburnt, freshly watered & living. I guess what I'm looking for is the pine version of Diptyque Philosykos & this isn't it. However, I am biased due to my dislike of smoke & I do love that Ellis Brooklyn is clean, vegan, cruelty-free & non-toxic. It's a nice fragrance & I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys fragrances like Glossier You and By the Fireplace

I can’t believe I haven’t wrote a review for Apres after a year. This scent is everything to me. It’s so unique to me that it reminds me of something an indie perfume house would put out. It starts with a heavy cedar note but softens up almost immediately with warm vanilla and powder. I don’t get super boozy vibes from it but it is there in the background. This fragrance is truly like being in the woods to me. I was deep in the Ozark mountains in a small wooden chapel enjoying the solitude and my first thought when I walked in was “wow, this smells like Apres!” The cedar note is spot on here. Even though this is probably a fall and winter fragrance, I wear it in the summer and think about the woods everywhere I go. Full bottle worthy. The silage is arm’s length and longevity is fair, on par with all of this house’s scents- 3-5 hours usually for me on clothes.

Christmas tree shopping while wearing your boyfriend’s leather jacket. The opening has a pine needle scent that can cut though the cold. This mid is beautiful, its boozy with a sexy suede note. It finishes as a woody vanilla. I do not get the musk or patchouli listed in the base. This is unisex leaning masculine and is something I would love on a man. Normally I think perfumes should stand on their own but I really prefer this layered with a vanilla perfume to make this a tad more feminine. The 7 virtues Vanilla Woods and BBW Vanilla Romance are my favorites to use. As much as I love this I would not reach for this every day. This needs the right occasion....a snowy day, a ski trip, a walk in the woods. I wore this on my Montana vacation and I have some lovely scent memories linked to this perfume now. 8/10.

I've been exploring a lot of woodsy smells lately and, if you're looking for a classic "woodsy" fragrance, this one may be the very best I've found yet! The opening is sharp, but not overly so. I immediately notice the resinous pine and cedar notes, but also a slight boozy bourbon note. As it dries down, you catch a bit more floral along with the sweetness of praline and vanilla. This is not a gourmand or floral though! It remains a true woody scent throughout. I notice that cedar is the aroma that lasts the longest, which seems common for woodsy smells. I love this perfume! For me, this leans very slightly masculine, but I would still wear it as a woman on days where I just want to live in an enchanted fairy forest (most days, if I'm being honest).

Initial spray is quite green to me, with lots of woods. As it dries this soft sweetness is revealed which is very comforting and almost wraps around the green/wood notes and tempers them. Then the light spiciness of the cardamom kicks in - smells like sitting down in a ski lodge with someone drinking chai a few tables over. Woods underlay the entire life of the fragrance so don't expect a gourmand, more like a whiff of a gourmand. Definitely tells an interesting fragrance story - I feel transported, from the green woods of the slopes to the coziness of the lodge. Very unisex, it could potentially be a work/everyday fragrance if your workplace is not strict on fragrances. Not offensive but also not a subtle scent.

This has been my favorite Ellis Brooklyn scent so far! I can't say that woody notes are usually a draw, but in this it works well. Maybe because I grew up in the PNW, but it invokes mountain forest imagery to me and it definitely appeals to me. For me this felt really unisex, but depending on your PH I could see this leaning masculine. I think this could also layer well with vanilla, something boozy, or something ozonic to give it more depth and better match a setting or vibe. Performance here was decent and better than most of the Ellis Brooklyn scents I've tried. Its not beast mode by any means, but not as intimate as most of the others I tried. I definitely recommend this for any fan of woodsy fragrances.

This is my first time smelling and wearing this fragrance. It has elements that remind me of a few of my other fragrances, most notably Bo (Liis), Architects Club (Arquiste), and Molecule 01 (Escentric Molecules). It’s a slightly aromatic, woody scent with a hint of sweetness to round it out. I mostly get a strong cedar note, some sandalwood, a very faint suede note, a little earthiness from the patchouli, an hint of vanilla, and soft musk. I don’t detect the bourbon note like some people do, but maybe that will change as I wear it more. This scent is solidly unisex, perhaps ever so slightly masculine leaning. It’s a scent my husband and I can share. It’s a perfect scent for our cool fall and snowy winter.

This is a really nice wintery gourmand scent: there's a nice woodsiness, a bit of spice from the cardamom, and some depth from the whiskey. I also appreciate that the vanilla dry down isn't too over the top or overwhelming. At the end of the day I can't imagine anyone really disliking this: it combines many of the best wintery notes and gets them to work in unison to create a cozy, inoffensive fragrance. I came away from my wear test wishing it was a little bolder or more memorable, but it isn't bad by any means. Pretty intimate on me with a wear time of around 9 hours (seems long but vanilla bases tend to really stick on me, the opening notes are gone pretty fast in this).

Recently pointed out to me by another user (@Coriemulvey). This scent truly smells of wintergreen in opening. It’s so interesting. I didn’t pick it up as much in my discovery kit sample , but I recently bought a bottle and it’s there! The frenetic fun opening combo of juniper+saffron+booze I think maybe. It’s actually tickles my nose. Then the semi sweet violet plays with the smoky labdanum bringing that leather backing with the cedar ...this is such a great perfume. I think my first review said it was good ...but not this good. And the bottle is gorgeous!

This took three wears for me to like it. The first two times it felt flat and unexciting. Today I wore it to walk the dogs along a snowy river path and I thought, "Yes, the perfect scent to accompany a Sunday walk in the winter." Now that it has a job, it's useful for me. On me, the opening was pencil shavings and the dry down is woody with a touch of vanilla. I don't get any of the whisky or patchouli. It feels simple, sometimes that's perfect for a Sunday. I have a travel size of this & if it keeps adding pleasure to the winter walks, I'd re-buy.

I wasn't sure what to expect with Apres, but I'm really happy with what it is. It's like a slightly less sweet Autumn Vibes (the maple really comes out on my skin) that is heavy on the woody notes. I can also detect the "bourbon whiskey" and I think it's a great touch with the woody notes. This is definitely a scent I would reach for in cold weather. I would like to get my boyfriend to test this out as well, I think he would really like it. All of the notes in here seem balanced. This is a win for me, I want to get a travel spray.

This is a sweet woody fragrance. There is also something that reminds me of frankincense- could be the guiac wood or labdanum. I definitely get the praline - as I said this is a sweet fragrance. Cedar is definitely prominent. It is sweet/woody and mildly resinous. That’s what I get from this - cedar, praline/sweet, resinous frankincense-like note and a touch of patchouli. This actually reminds me of SJP stash - but stash is more incensey, stash is also pine wood than cedar, and Apres Ski is much much sweeter than stash.
