Dirty Little Beach! I sprayed it directly to my forearm, and excited to finally try it... I clear my mind, I close my eyes, and I breathe it in... What is this? I open my eyes and exhale... I'm confused. My senses don't know if to accept, or reject in the initial inhale. I take in the scent from my forearm again for a second time.. "Oh wow, okay, this is different", I think to myself after taking this in. I do this a few more times and gather my thoughts. I wait some 5 minutes and take the scent in. It scares me, but I'm not "not" liking it. (This deserved a double negative sentence of how baffled my brain was trying to compute this scent). I give it some more time. "Ohhh wow - I understand you, and I think I'm going to like you", I say to the fragrance. Okay - I have my report: Sea, Ocean, Beach is my vibe, period. My hunt for the best marine fragrance still continues. However, I can tell you what this isn't. This one is not coconut, wet, juicy, sweet, floral, fruity, or tropical beach girl on vacay what so ever. So if you're here for the abovementioned, give me a balloon as a thank you next, for sparing you xoxo ~the end. However, if you're wanting something different other than your good ol' run of the mill, regular, "safe" tourist brochure escape, keep on reading you adventurer dare devil you. ~_^ Ready? Okay. This one is a hella dirty, adventurous spirit, naughty babe (male or female) at a "locals" beach. Again, this is not the touristy smooth clean and family friendly beach. No, sir. You're sick of the office, and your everyday lifestyle. You cashed out your 8 days of PTO, booked a flight to a beach town you don't know on Groupon, and packed everything you need for those 8 days in a backpack. I mean, how much clothes will you actually need? You passed on the resort accommodations, and agreed to play it by ear. Welcome to (insert foreign country name here) you will now be staying at a hostel that your friendly cab driver, Ja'Dai, from the airport recommended. Welcome to Playa X This is a hot black sand, sharp pebbles, cinnamon colored and ever so slightly scented driftwood local's beach. The water is cold, dark, and salty, with waves just a tad intimidating to an amateur surfer. You're excited, and a little uncomfortable because everything is different than what you're used to. But hey, you're here just for that. You are ready to try a new adventure, meet new people, try different foods, and surf waves you're not used to. This isn't a pretty or delicate fragrance. I didn't pick up any floral or citrus notes, but I did get some spiciness almost a faint cinnamon, and a pinch of smokiness. This is fun and sexy in a "I live my life dangerously seeking the next adventure vibe". Salty ocean dried up on the skin, sand in the hair, some minor cuts from the sharp pebbles on the feet, bruises from the surfboard hitting you a few times, and a gorgeous smile on your face from the great time you've been having! Its night time, you've showered, you're soapy clean. Your skin is warm from the sun you've taken in all these days. Yeah the beach is a little dirty. Yeah things aren't like back home, but as the fragrance dies down, and your crazy vacation begins to wrap up. You're left with a soft, almost sweet musky skin close scent. As if to let your senses relax and rest up. This Salt by Ellis Brooklyn is an experience. Its not an everyday fragrance, and its certainly not to be appreciated by everyone. If Salt has chosen you, your senses to accept it as it is for what its meant to be, than you're a lucky unique spirit. If its not for you, its okay, too. Not everyone is made for dangerous excitement. Even some rides at Disney have health precautions. I hope you enjoyed my review of this artistic fragrance. (◠‿◠✿) Not a safe full bottle blind buy On me it lasted 8+ hours Silliage will of course depend on how much and where you spray. The scent on initial spray is pretty sharp. As it dies down it of course becomes more a skin scent but its smooth, and dare I say delicate at the end.

The first "real" (as in not random and extremely cheap) perfume I bought for myself when I started taking more of an interest in perfume. It is a first love I can't let go of. Not very complex, longevity and projection isn't great. But it's so comforting to me and lifts my mood. Ever since the first time I tested it, I swear that the opening is like tequila, which actually made me love it. It doesn't smell like that past the very first moment, and I may be the only one who has that opinion anyway, so you are not walking around smelling like booze when wearing this. It's an easy summer day, salted ocean kissed skin in the late afternoon coming back from the beach on a weekend trip. A beachy, coastal fragrance that feels familiar from the first encounter. I keep reaching for this as soon as spring starts to get hot and I may carry a torch for it for a long time, but I think it could one day be replaced as my summer go to.

I’ve had Salt on my ‘to try’ list for so long I can’t even remember why it’s there, and I have finally got a sample of it. I love it. Clean, fresh, cool and summery with light, salty florals and a little bit of depth from the musk and sandalwood. I have been searching and searching to find something like my forever favourite (and heartbreakingly now discontinued) Bottega Veneta Parco Palladiano VII: Lillà, and while Salt is a different perfume it has the same sort of vibe - the distant scent of flowers on a cool breeze drifting over a clear blue lagoon through newly washed white muslin curtains. The musk adds some sun warmed skin to the mix. Salt is more tropical floral and less ethereal than Lillà, but still lovely. This is a very subtle fragrance - the longevity is moderate on me and it doesn’t have much projection, but I’ll wear it for me and nobody else.

Blind bought this and it’s NOT what I expected. I’m realizing the ambergris shifts the profile from your typical tropical white floral to something very different. Unisex and slightly masculine leaning, almost like ozonic rock and salty shores kind of petrichor, but there’s still a warmth. Contemplating whether I want this for myself or want to give to my husband. It’s a lovely summer scent, either way, but don’t expect the tropics based on the Tiare and yellow florals. Update(04/09/26): So I decided to keep this for myself! It really grew on me and goes well with other spa-like scents that I own. I used Saltair’s Seascape bodycare line and fragrance mist for my bed time shower with this and Lake & Skye 11:11 and it’s really lovely, clean, and calming.

I got this from an Ipsy sale. It was a great price for a 30 day bottle. So I grabbed one. I fell in love with it first spray. It's so different and unique. It's a summer scent without all the suntan lotion heaviness like cocoa butter or coconut oil. It does remind you of after a long day at the beach and you've been out in the water all day and you take a quick beach shower and put on a hoodie because you're sunburnt and chilly. It lies very close to the skin it won't fill the elevator up. It's beachy but at the same time, mature and well rounded. If you're looking for something very different and summery and light but extremely unique, SALT is it. You won't be disappointed. 💙🩵💙🩵💙

I have never found a scent that I was certain I wanted to be my signature scent until SALT!! To give you an idea of just what a 180 this is for me, I had just purchased a full-size bottle of Black Opium Le Parfum thinking that would be my new go-to, as I'm typically attracted to vanillas. Salt is a clean, fresh, delightful breeze. It starts with salt air and dries down to a delicious slightly-floral-slightly-sweet musk. I can not stop smelling myself when wearing it, it's addictive. My husband loves the freshness this scent carries, too. I started with a travel size and bought a full 3.4oz bottle after just a day. I am so excited for this to be my everyday scent.

It’s blowing my mind that so many people call this aquatic and close wearing! Not my experience at all. I was actually looking for more of a summer frag, and from the branding that is what I presumed I would get. I catch the salty aroma here and there. I really like that element to it. For me, Salt is exclusively a cold weather perfume, as it wears quite heavy on me—amber all the way. It’s lovely, and definitely has a nod to the beach, but in warmer air I imagine it would easily turn cloying. Sillage is fierce—I try to not even use a full spray or it’s too much to handle. All that said, I do like it very much even though it’s not what I thought it would be.

This is my first time trying SALT, and I am in LOVE! After sampling so many boring summer florals, it is SO refreshing to have this on my skin. I can't stop smelling myself. I will quote my 10-year-old son, "This smells like the ocean, but not a cold ocean, a warm tropical ocean, sort of fresh and soft at the same time' - yes, those are his words (Check out my review for Wild Vanilla Orchid - another of his favorites), and I can't think of a better way to describe this perfume. It does lean a bit more masculine to me, but I don't have a problem wearing masculine scents. This one is a keeper for me (and apparently my son as well)

Reminds me of Bubble Bath by MM but was not as soft as Bubble Bath. It had more power to it and I sprayed it on myself inside of Sephora in the afternoon time and I still smelled it on my shirt where I sprayed it the next morning. This scent is great! I am usually not a fan of the beach, aquatic vibe but this just smells sooo good. Fresh and a hint of saltiness. After the dry down, I could see this as being unisex but I loved it on me. Made me smell so good I couldn't stop smelling myself. I ended up purchasing Bubble Bath instead of this, but after trying out Bubble Bath I am definitely am going to return it for SALT.

I love this, but more so on a hot summers day. I don’t think this would be a great winter fragrance but on a sweaty 40 degree day in Victoria, it’s great. Salt is familiar and comforting. My husband said when he smelled it for the first time that it took him back to his childhood, camping on a beach in NZ. And that alone made me purchase it. The longevity is about 4 hours, then turns into a skin scent. Lasts longer on clothes. With 2 sprays you can smell this on someone from about 5 feet away, providing you sprayed it within the first 4 hours. Definitely full bottle worthy. Price is also quite reasonable too :)

I was initially worried about what this fragrance would smell like on my skin. Often times, Ellis Brooklyn scents come off ill on me but I wanted to give it a go, and I am so glad I did! The Ylang-ylang is what drew me to want to try this out and it's what I smell the most, I LOVE that. This is not a tropical fragrance to me. It's fresh, aquatic and soothing. I do smell some of the salt in there, and it's just enough to not be, well, salty? There is a hint of floral, nothing too overpowering at least for my taste. Very nostalgic for me. Makes me feel like I've been transported to a fantasy world.

It is a good inoffensive fragrance. I've got a free sample with some order from Sephora and I was pleasantly surprised. It's not some crazy super complex niche perfume, but it's just nice, simple and elegant. I'm not sure if I would fancy myself a bottle, but I'm going to enjoy wearing that little sample that I have. Also I would enjoy smelling it on somebody else. It's nice, elegant and easy going scent. People who don't like heavy fragrances would definitely appreciate it. It reminds me Santal 33 by Le Labo a little bit, but I'd say it's more gentle, creamier, more elegant than Santal 33.

This is one I always have at the front of my collection. This is violet and magnolia heavy, to me; which is one of my favorite combinations. My signature note is violet and Salt helped me to realize it. I have the splash and the roller ball. I’d be curious to see just how different a spray would be, as I’ve seen fewer people than expected to mention just how violet-centric this is. And I get no coconut scent, as at least one person has mentioned. I have not smelled this on a masculine person but, to me, this is more of a bright and confident feminine-leaning fragrance. It makes me happy.

I find this to be quite beachy actually but in a watching a sunset on a beach cliff in Hawaii while the wind brings smells of salt air and tiare flowers as the breeze cools and the sun goes down. And you still occasionally gets whiffs of the tanning oil you put on earlier in the day. This starts out with with a bit of salty tiare and ylang ylang with a hint of coconuty amber. As it dries down the amber comes out more, as the the violet leaf green note. Over all I like it. Its a beachy, amber, floral. Perfect for vacation or summer time. ☀️ 🌴🥥🌸🌺🪻

An ideal fragrance for those who enjoy ozonic, musky, almost astringent leaning scents. It smells like the summer air, warm skin fresh out of salt water, a clean beach towel that has sat in the sun. Definitely a strong amber, I really dislike smelling the scent straight off the nozzle - once sprayed it’s beautiful and all the profiles come out. Definitely try it on skin if you can, I found on paper it gave a completely different scent - very strong amber and an animalic musk. On skin it develops beautifully!

An extremely nice beachy, summer fragrance. I only sampled, but intend to pick up a bottle before next summer. Goes from a strong ocean salt smell, to quickly dry down directly to a softer floral and amber. The tiare flower is there, but is not too strong, overly sweet, or cloying. I also smell a hint of cool vanilla. Lovely and blessedly without a chemical sunsreen smell. Like another reviewer, it makes me think of northeastern beaches and the Atlantic Ocean, with a tropical twist.

This is SUCH a sexy fragrance! To me this smells like sandy, salty skin after a long day in the sun and an intimate encounter. I know it will layer really well with so many other things and I can't wait to explore that! I think what really does it for me in this one is the ylang-ylang, ambergris, and musk. This fragrance lasts a nice amount of time on my skin with a light projection. Feels like a nice cozy lil secret when out and about in the world and perfect to wear at bedtime.

scents to make you drool...plays well with sweat and dirt- i layer with clove oil on nights out for a heady mix that will develop the more i move. by itself it's good to dance in, just strong enough to cling to clothes and have people leaning in. got a sampler off a friend and was unexpectedly obsessed right away. don't trust anyone who tells you it's light, feminine, or beachy, it's a little less west coast waves and little more venice skatepark sweat slick sunburn. Perfect.

This is one that had to grow on me. Initially, I found that it was far to sharp and kind of hard on the nose, almost overwhelming. Over the last year or two, I've had multiple samples of this come into my life, and suddenly, I found that I loved this. It is still rather sharp on the first spray, but as the day goes on it warms up as the amber comes out. It's a summer fragrance that doesn't rely on coconut or tropical fruit to give you that feeling of a hot day on the beach.

Didn't realize how much I enjoy Tiaré flower..but, it is really lovely. I usually wear Raven and Rives from the EB line. But this is a lovely departure from all the rest. It smells like beach in a bottle without the coconut, which I do like but it gets redundant in the beachy scents. Glad it's not in this one. This would be the perfect vacation scent. Not sweet or dessert, not fresh or watery. The perfect summer floral. And somehow, it's very unisex. Love it.

I haven't seen any mentions of this, so thought I would add my two cents: smells like pistachios in a delicious way. That's the note I pick up on most when I get a little whiff of myself while wearing this. If I hold my nose up close, though, I lose that nice pistachio and end up smelling something more powdery. 9/10 for me. Not a 10 because I don't like powdery scents so much, but this is a magnetic scent that I haven't smelled elsewhere.

the love i have for salt by ellis brooklyn is unparalleled. it's beachy but specifically it smells like a COLD beach, and in hot weather it warms up so nicely on your skin. it's the perfect balance of pretty and odd. salty cold air and violet leaves and ambergris. i don''t think i've ever smelled a perfume at the designer price point that's compares to this, if I didn't know any better I would think it's niche.

I absolutely love this fragrance! I have recently realized that salty, aquatic notes were my ultimate favorite in a perfume, so I was very excited to try this. I was concerned about the scent being too tropical or fruity/floral with the tiare and magnolia, but I found the ambergris and musk notes to counter the sweeter notes very well. Salt smells like a breeze at a beach where wildflowers are growing nearby :)

I usually don’t like these types of scents but felt like trying something new. This is salty, clean, NOT “floral” overall on my skin (my husband thinks everything smells like ‘flowers,’ but not this one). I feel sexy and free...like I’m in a bikini in Central America. A “literal day on the beach.” The scent lasts for several hours on my skin, so I’m pleased. I’ll be ordering a full-sized bottle immediately.

why did no one tell me this is the most beautiful perfume ever?? if this feels a little ~too~ salty smelling it on paper you absolutely MUST try it again on skin because it really drys down into something amazing i hate that i was on the fence about trying it because this would have really shined in spring/summer even tho i think it wears fine as a daytime skin musk scent for any season

One of the best Salt fragrance IMHO. this is the best for summertime and wearing by pool or on beach. Also perfect for vacation dinner in the evening. Well blended. Unisex and wearable for everyone. Longevity is excellent and sillage the same. Drydown makes the florals come out and gives it a tropical scent. Glad I purchased this. Highly recommended 10/10 especially for summer.

This is literally sex on a beach. Exudes a strong musky scent that borders on human-like, akin to sweat mixed with mineral sunscreen. The fragrance exudes carnality, embodying the essence of summer in every note. This gives what Secretions Magnifiques thought it did. Highly recommend for men and women alike, although like all EB scents there’s practically no longevity.

This is a really nice scent for hot weather, without having the most typical tropical notes - like coconut - which I tend to find a bit suffocating in heat. It sits close to the skin, but has a pretty decent longevity. It smells like musky but clean skin after a swim in the Mediterranean sea. Salty, fresh, with just a hint of florals in the background. Lovely.

Heaven. Salty warmth mixed with sun oil and summer florals. My only complaint is that it wears very close to the skin on me and longevity isn't great- I need to drown myself in it to get any staying power. This is what I would want to smell on someone else's skin too. It's a shame this seems to be such a subjective wear from other reviews :(

I REALLY like this. I don’t get old lady at all... I smell a summery-amber scent. I’d describe it as clean, fresh, but warm & mineral-y. Let me paint a picture: I feel like it just got done raining, and the large rocks on the beach are drying up under the sun, and someone close by just applied spray-on sunscreen so it’s floating in the air.

I think this fragrance heavily relies on your skin chemistry, I enjoyed it on a tester strip but on my skin it smells like plastic. Specifically it smells like pool toys. I don’t know how to explain it. It smells like plastic mixed with pool chlorine. But that could be my skin chemistry altering the smell.

Dryer sheet mixed with sun kissed skin after swimming in saltwater. That's what this smells like. This wasn't love at first spray for me. It confused me, if anything. Second time I sprayed it, I liked it a lot more, but its probably because I was mentally prepared for it. This will be my summer perfume.

Im honestly shocked with how much this smells like Velvet Orchid wow, I'd even say this is a better version for the warmer weather Very ylang and sandalwood forward, has a beautiful sweetness and creaminess about it Am pretty blown away with how good this smells and it lasted on me for most the day

Salt is a contemporary fresh floral scent that reminds me of tropical weather. I love using it when gets hotter. It is a complex perfumes that changes depending on the weather. More floral when it gets cooler and fresh and breezy when warms up. I feel very feminine using it. Floral and fresh!

quite literally smells like the ocean. a little saltier and stronger, but absolutely feels "realistic" beachy(aka no fruit, no tropical, no sunscreen. like just the beach) I prefer feminine leaning perfumes, and this is perfectly unisex so I don't wear it often but I do really love it.

I am wearing this in the winter. Something about the santal creaminess and it smelling similar to Velvet Orchid gives me solace in doing so. It has me dreaming of a beach- even though it’s not exactly beachy. Hard to explain but it’s a love. I’m surprised by the lower reviews.

I really enjoy this scent! It captures the feeling of a fresh ocean breeze with just a touch of sunscreen. It instantly takes me back to carefree days at the beach, warm sun on my skin and salt in the air. A nostalgic, easygoing fragrance that feels like summer in a bottle.

My go-to, my true love, my forever signature. It depends solely on body chemistry but this just "works" for me. Extremely nostalgic, refreshing, and clean - but with a deeply aquatic base. I smelled so good at church, my pastor's wife bought a bottle.

Without a doubt my favourite fragrance I own. I lean very much gourmand lover however this really is nothing of the sort when you read the notes however I do get some kind of creaminess from Salt and I truely adore it. Easily my every day perfume.

Salt took its time to win me over, but now I get it. It’s a delicate balance of beachy and earthy (true to its name), with a clean, almost skin-like freshness. Not your typical summery coconut scent. It is more subtle. Clean girl at the beach.

I am in love! I recently purchased the EB discovery set and this is my favourite! It has moderate longevity on me but sits very close to the skin with a “your skin but better” vibe. Just a gorgeous blend, the perfect mix of amber and florals.

I see why it’s named salt but there is some sweetness to it. No coconut listed but I smell it. Clean musky note on dry down. Light, soft, and creamy. I love it but it doesn’t last long. Unisex.

A "your skin but vetter" scent. Smooth, well rounded, creamy, a little floral, and salt - like hot skin in summer - fresh but sexy. Fab beach scent without the tropical coconut, fruit etc

A truly gorgeous salty skin scent that reminds me of Salt Air by Skylar but far less briney. This has a perfumey quality but it’s still fresh. Perfect every day scent with mass appeal!

On first spray I wasn't into this. Then about 20 minutes later, I was wandering through another department store and was like wow, what's that incredible smell? It was this fragrance.

I think this is the perfect beachy scent for winter with the ambergris note. It's beachy for someone who wants beachy without smelling like sunscreen.

This is so nice and unexpected! I thought it would be very salty but the opening smells like coconut and or sunscreen. A great beachy scent.

Oceanic and peppery, with a vague impression of salt. The tiare is prominent. A strong, enticing, and mysterious scent, IMO.

on my skin this is a beautiful salty sweet Amber beach scent. immediately love it. going into my summer rotation.
