Vanilla Sin

Spoiler alert: it’s a body spray. It’s not going to last forever. Ive been looking for a vanilla centric body spray to prep my skin for my actual parfum, but then I discovered this. I find that if you’re worried about your fragrance being too common, you can layer with a body spray to make it more unique. I also tend to wear a lot more extraits and parfums, so starting the chemical reaction with a body spray helps those scents project out further. It also grounds/aims a fragrance in the direction you want it to go sooner. We all have those scents that we have to kinda wait to become what we want them to be before we actually leave the house. This helps my brain simplify the journey, if that makes sense. Two of my faves, Ani and Imperium, kind of take a journey and EVENTUALLY get to that sexy/cozy vanilla situation, it just takes a while. With vanilla in the top and base of this, I immediately think I smell good, and know it’s only going to get better as the body spray dies down and makes way for the mid and the base of my actual perfume. As far as the actual scent goes, I really love it. It was an immediate yes for me. It’s the perfect opening act for most of my fragrance collection. This will add a relatable quality to a spicy or fresh vanilla scent.

I'm not a fan of body mists (with a couple of exceptions). Not just because of the short longevity but also because they usually tend to smell kinda cheap and juvenile, and they all remind me of middle school. Ellis Brooklyn, however, seems to be the exception. Vanilla Sin is AMAZING. It's a super smooth, round, sensual mix of hazelnut, creamy almond, vanilla and cherry without being too heavy or syrupy. It comes in a nice glass bottle with a great atomizer, and this already makes me like it more than all other body mists. The downfall of Vanilla Sin is the longevity. I've never had a perfume, body mist or other kind of scented product with such an awfully short longevity. I know that it's a body mist, and it's not gonna last as long as an actual perfume, but Vanilla Sin is gone after 10 minutes! It's just unacceptable. It lasts longer on fabric though, so I guess I'll just have to spray it on my clothes from now on, but come on... I'll give it an 8/10 because of this, but if I was to rate the scent alone without taking anything else into consideration it's a 10/10. If Ellis Brooklyn ever makes an actual perfume of this I'll buy it immediately!

This is absolutely gorgeous. I'm so glad we finally got it in my country. When I first spray this, it's the most delicious nutty scent I've ever smelled. And not in the usual cheap way that other body mists tend to be, like the cheirosa body mists, which can be a little repulsive. This one is mouth-wateringly delicious. And the cherry goes amazingly well with the nuts. The drydown is a sweet cherry vanilla. My only sadness is that because this is a body mist, it doesnt last long. Why is this a mist?? I'm so sick of this trend. If this were a perfume, it would be amazing. One thing I will say is that this lasts much longer on clothes than on skin. And interestingly, while my skin quickly loses the delicious nutty cherry scent, it remains this way on my clothes the entire time. I love it... to me it smells almost exactly like Black Opium Over Red, except it has the addition of strong nut notes. Which is such an amazing addition. It feels redundant for me to own this considering I already own Over Red, but this is genuinely mouthwatering. Absolutely excellent. I will definitely test this more when I can.

I just picked this up today and I'm obsessed. It reminds me a lot of Vanilla Royale Sugared Patchouli, but lighter, brighter, and a tad sweeter. The nuttiness mixed with the incense note in Vanilla Sin gives it an earthy patchouli-esque vibe, so if you don't like a spicey type of vanilla, you won't like this either. But, if you like an earthy, spicey, grown up, but still playful vanilla (think vanilla 28 or Sugared Patchouli), she's your girl. My only complaint is that she is rather light, so you definitely have to over spray and she doesn't have the best staying power. But that is to be expected of a body mist. And honestly, for the price, you can afford to reapply as often as you want.

Snatched a couple 100ml’s at Ross It reminds me of cirque du soliel L’eau de parfum .. in which there’s an airy cereal and milk vibe I don’t pick up a heavy black cherry note thankfully it’s more of a burst and then the gorgeous balmy and delicious gourmande notes take over from there. The Peru balsam is super good along with that incense which leans into a smoky territory slightly woody just a touch Seems to have decent lasting power for a body mist. Hopefully they make an edp version that’s more projecting I love this so much I’m so glad to have found it. Definitely gonna be on the lookout for more!

This is not a cherry-prominent fragrance though the cherry note is there. This beauty is a cousin of Dior Hypnotic Poison from the original 1998 release. Her other cousin is Jimmy Choo Fever. If you like seduction fragrances that have a sweet, vanilla, nutty, fruity, amber swirl then Vanilla Sin is your girl. I would love to have both an EDP and a body oil in this fragrance. I’m smitten.

Blind bought this at a discount retailer, and the first spray scared me as it smelled like cherry chapstick. After a few more sprays, the chapstick faded into this delicious, nutty, cherry vanilla and I can’t stop smelling my wrist! Of course the longevity is abysmal as it is a body spray, but overall a lovely scent and wish they made an EDP.

love it, discovered that I love nutty fragrances because of this fragrance vanilla and cherry may be the star of the perfume for some but this became a nutty gourmand that does it for me (i do pick up on the vanilla and cherry notes!). i don't like incense and thankfully don't smell any on me with this perfume

Holy moly... I was not expecting to love this scent as much as I did because I'm not a cherry scent fan. But wow, this is so good! Creamy rich vanilla with a fruity edge. It smells spicy and seductive at first, and on my skin, it dries to a pleasant fruity creme scent. And it lasts forever!

This is the best body spray on the market. I love marshmallows, but this fragrance takes it to another level. I am completely obsessed with it. It's cozy and makes me feel good. The perfect mix of vanilla and almonds creates a delightful experience in a bottle. Perfect for layering too.

I LOVE THIS! I am a cherry 🍒 perfume lover and this scent is everything!!! However, I won’t be purchasing this body spray again even though I love it. It does not last and it’s terrible value for money when it doesn’t last. Ellis Brooklyn needs to make this into a eau de parfum.

Beautiful vanilla, and I'm surprised it actually lasts on my body, even though it's a mist. This is my second body mist from this brand. The marshmallow one was my first one; these two are so good. Let's hope I continue to like more from Ellis.

This is one of the few cherry scents that doesn't make my headache and my god. It is the most gorgeous, kind of sexy scent I have ever smelled! It smells like a gorgeous woman in a silk robe eating a cherry-almond pastry

I thought this would lean young, but it's quite lovely. The top notes are super balanced and it's just a fun, sexy scent. It fills up my small office and my coworkers love it. It's a great value for the price

This is the absolute best body mist on the market. I would beg on my knees to Ellis Brooklyn to make an EDP version.

wonderfully deep and rich for the price!

Sweet, warm, fruity, juicy, nutty, boozy, smooth, sensual, seductive, creamy, woody, softly warm spicy, cozy, rich, alluring, sultry, sexy, decadent, tempting, yummy, addictive, intoxicating, intriguing, deep, mysterious, unique I have never been overly into cherry fragrances, but have been trying them a little more over the past year. I had always had a fear of them having a medicinal smell or feel. Out of the several I have tried I have only ever purchased 2 (both blind buys). I don’t get anything medicinal with either Ellis Brooklyn Vanilla Sin or Kayali Lovefest Burning Cherry, the 2 I’ve bought. Vanilla Sin is my second as well as my favorite of the 2, definitely a love for me! I definitely recommend giving this one a try even if you’re not usually into cherry fragrances, it really might surprise and impress you. On me this opens with warm and sensual vanilla, sweet, slightly tart, juicy, and deep black Cherry (it’s very realistic), rich hazelnut and cacao, creamy and delicious almond cream, and just a whisper of fresh and clean freesia. Once it dries down the warm, boozy, and sensual bourbon vanilla, the dark and spicy incense, and balsamic Peru balsam become more prominent and add a beautiful and unique depth to the scent. Overall, I get a delectable and sexy cherry and almond bourbon vanilla scent. It has a very nice depth to it and is very well balanced and blended. This is such a lovely and unique scent! It’s somehow flirty and playful, yet also seductive and deep. The sweet and vanilla notes make it flirty, but the more rich notes of hazelnut, bourbon vanilla, incense, and Peru balsam add that depth and sexiness. It’s very well balanced so that those decadent base notes don’t take over the whole fragrance, but mingle beautifully with the vanilla, black cherry, and almond cream. This is very well done, especially for a mist! I don’t think you typically get this kind of beauty, balance, and depth with your average mists. I have several Ellis Brooklyn fragrances including Miami Nectar, Salt, Vanilla Milk, Myth, Bee, and their Sand and Marshmallows mists. Marshmallows, Sand, and Vanilla Sin are my favorite fragrances from them followed by Miami Nectar. I think it’s sort of funny that my favorites (besides Miami Nectar) are mists. You would think they would have made them perfumes because of how well crafted they are, and how wonderful they smell. They’re also unique, especially Vanilla Sin. I can’t say that I have anything else like it in my collection, nor have I really smelled anything that I find to be similar to this. I get impressive performance with Vanilla Sin, especially considering it’s a mist. The longevity is very good, it lasts the majority of the day without needing a touch up. The projection is nice, it radiates out about an arm’s length from me. I get pretty much the same performance with the mists as I do with their actual perfumes which is surprising. The bottle is also fantastic! It’s made of glass and has a beautiful ombré effect! Plus, the atomizer is high quality and sprays just the right amount! So, even though these mists are a bit pricey, I actually do think they’re a really good value. In a way I guess it’s a good thing that the ones I love the most from EB are mists because they’re a lot more affordable than the perfumes, and they perform pretty similarly on me. I consider them to be high end/luxury mists, so I can’t convey enough how much they are worth trying even if you don’t typically use mists. Sweet, vanilla, nutty, cherry, almond, woody, balsamic, warm, floral, rich, decadent, feminine, sensual, seductive, sexy, flirty, playful, charming, whimsical, yummy, tempting, alluring, inviting, cozy, comforting On me this opens as sensual vanilla swirled with sweet and juicy black cherry and rich and decadent hazelnut. As it starts drying down the sweet almond cream, soft cacao, buttery frangipani, and fresh and clean freesia intertwine with the delicious top notes. Once it dries down the boozy vanilla, smoky incense, and balsamic Peru balsam add a rich depth, and create a cozy and comforting vibe. The deep dry down is a lovely rich vanilla with a nutty accord, and cherry and woody nuances. This is quite complex, and has a nice depth, especially for a mist. This comes across as quite woody/balsamic from the Peru Balsam, and the incense adds an interesting smoky touch. I can see why some people get a cola vibe from this because it comes off kind of dark and almost fizzy. I have several other mists and perfumes from Ellis Brooklyn. While it’s not my favorite brand, I do really enjoy their fragrances. I have Marshmallows (my favorite!), Sand, and Vanilla Sin in the mists, and Miami Nectar (my fave of the perfumes), Bee, Vanilla Milk, Salt, and Myth in the perfumes. I’m planning on getting Vanilla Salt next, and I’m really looking forward to it. What’s funny is that Marshmallows and Sand are my favorites of all of the ones I have, and they happen to be mists. Their mists are done extremely well, the same perfumer who created Yum Boujee Marshmallow actually created Marshmallows! I also love the elegant touch that the ombré glass bottles present. I get great performance with Vanilla Sin, especially considering it’s a body mist. Went and smelled this perfume with no idea of what the notes were- i'm a vanilla aficionado and ill take any excuse to find a good gourmand. Man this was such an odd experience. I feel a little betrayed to be honest haha. The opening is actually so amazing. Smells of vanilla, something gourmand and cake-like, but with (real, not aggressively fake) cherry and chocolate. I was almost sold on the spot and quite literally considered getting it. It reminded me of a vanilla forward black forest cake and wow,, i did not know that's something i needed. But i decided to keep the tester strip and continue smelling it to see how the scent evolved. And honestly, all the good about this fragrance started to slowly vanish and turn more and more perfume-y. Had it only been the incense notes i wouldn't have minded it, would've been akin to a candle on top of a cake (kind of genius, really), but i think the floral notes destroy it. (but then again i'm a certified hater of florals, so this might just be a me problem) Overall just starts to loose all its sweetness, and kinda smells a bit musty by the end. Mind you, it might be worth re-checking on the skin, and seeing how it evolves in that way. Sometimes you need a test run, so i'll try and do that, maybe leave an updated review. TDLR: insanely delicious and perfect opening, evolves into something very perfumy, floral, musty- and much less likable. Will try to update further.

Testing this via a spray decant and I like it a lot but it's quite different on my skin from what other reviewers are saying. The first impression is a thick, rich, delicious vanilla soon followed by the cacao and hazelnut, giving it a dusty, 'Nutella-esque' vibe. That only lasts a few minutes, however, as the frangipani really comes out strongly with my chemistry. Oddly, I don't get the cherry that so many others seem to and I know it was heavily marketed as a cherry scent but I'm just not getting it. For me, it's more like a summer beach scent with tropical florals, vanilla, and a slightly 'sunscreen-y' vibe. This is more in the family of JHAG Vanilla Vibes or Replica Beach Walk for me. I don't get the incense or Peru balsam (which often reads as medicinal on my skin). I like it reasonably well, though it's a bit different than what I was expecting. As to be expected with a body mist, it is light but it was about what I expected, performance-wise. It didn't seem ridiculously light to me or invisible after only a few minutes like some complained about. I'm an hour and a half in and it's still there, though with less projection, again to be expected with a mist. I'm looking forward to trying this again on a hot summer day, I have a feeling that's when it will really shine.

This is an interesting one. LOVE the cherry vanilla almond opening soooo much, and that lasts about an hour or two. I can understand the play-doh mentions on the open, but I personally love when fragrances lean that way. On the dry down I get this woody cozy scent (perhaps the peru balsam?) that combined with the lingering faint sweetness, reminds me of something I can't quite put my finger on. There's something nostalgic but clean about it, perhaps a childhood scent, gingersnaps, or maybe the smell of a library? But none of these hit the mark exactly because it's got a seductive classiness about it too. I'm a gourmand lover, and the open hits the mark for me perfectly. The dry down is not something I would have ever chosen for myself if it was just that scent alone, but the evolution is fascinating and kind of addictive. Overall this is a winner for me. It's interesting and multifaceted, giving me what I love but also showing me a complex take on it that keeps me coming back for more. Note: This is a great evening scent and good for bedtime too. Cozy, sweet & sexy.

At first I wasn't sure about it cuz I got it at a time where I only liked strictly gourmands. A couple months later I tried it again and thisnis when I was getting into other scent notes and liking woodsy and musky and powdery scents. To me, this is such a sexy body spray and as strong as a perfume. I don't know if I smell cherry, but I do get the woodsy vanilla and almond and I also want to mention I hate perfumes with incense or oud...and according to the notes this has intense and i have to admit, it is mixed in so well that it doesnt give off incense vibes at all, and also it gives me the same vibes as the marshmallows spray, sexy grown. It is so unique, im glad I dont smell the cherry because im not really a cherry fan. I love it for night time and fall or winter. It lasts for hours, even up until I shower. I think im going to repurchase once this finishes, I know the new bottles are not as fancy but as long as it smells the same im happy.

I really scored finding a small bottle of this at Burlington. It’s pretty unique for a body spray and has better longevity than my bottle of EB Sun. I do see similarities to Wicked Vanilla though. It’s not real cherry dominate, it’s mostly in the top, overall this is a slight smokey , incensey vanilla. I’m pretty picky when it comes to smoke, tobacco and incense, but it’s well done here. Happy with my 12.99 purchase. It will layer well with BBW cherry scents, Guerlain Petite Robe flankers, and LATTAFA Antiquities 1505. Edit: This has one of the most beautiful dry downs I’ve ever encountered in a body spray! Must be the incense and vanilla. Perhaps I should look into more balsam scents. Not familiar with that note.

Smells straight up edible. Vanilla Sin is youthful without being immature - think maneater. Sweet but not innocent - almondy, but so is cyanide. Dangerous, but you keep coming back for more. I like it a lot, even though it’s pretty screechy at first (but settles down to a more balanced scent). Big on vanilla, slightly less big on almonds, and sort of the vague suggestion of cherry. It’s great for a body spray - but it’s also expensive for a body spray. To make the scent stick around you have to gas it a fair amount, but good luck not getting a headache.

I legitimately don't smell any difference between Vanilla Sin and Marshmallows. Both yummy, gourmand, brown sugary vanilla goodness. But there's not a lick of cherry in here. The only difference between the two body mists is the bit of citrus in the opening of Marshmallows. Save your money and just grab one of them. They both are fantastic performers considering they are body mists. Best atomizer I've ever used! Rating: 8/10

I wish the black cherry and almond notes were more prominent. It’s nice, rounded and slightly spicy in a way that comes across as powdery. There’s something about this that reminds me of old school shaving cream in the best way. Perfect for spraying on out of the shower. The only problem is that it disappears quickly and the way it smells initially changes within seconds.

I left a not-so-positive review before. This is really growing on me. The cherry starts to develop after some maturation time in the bottle. Then this scent really comes alive and is quite complex and seductive for a body spray. I think I'd repurchase honestly. Adjusted Rating: 8/10

It kind’ve reminds me of those cola gummies - my friend says it has a rootbeer hint to it too. It’s honestly not bad, it’s a pretty and sweet scent, but I’d say it takes a certain mood and occasion. ^^ It’s definitely from the mix of cherry, vanilla, and the nuts

such a yummy cola perfume. not a big fan of cherry fragrances but this is definitely a fun and refreshing take! a really nice heavy vanilla cherry soda scent (something about it reminds me of jpg la belle, maybe just the same kind of sweetness/musk)

smells rlly nice! i’ll say, however, that the longevity just isn’t really there :-( i love it in the winter and layers nicely with vanilla lotion ^.^ cherry, vanilla, smoky (i get a little sour spiciness in the initial spray but it mellows out)

When I first smelled it in store I fell in love with it! Thought it was such a nice and sexy vanilla. I still like it but in person it gets a little too smoky on me after a while. Not a fragrance I will wear a lot outside of going out

Smells exactly like bath and body works wicked vanilla from their Halloween collection. I have both and there isn’t much of a difference despite their notes are different

When I smelled it in store, I got a cakey, almondy vanilla. Almond scents aren't usually my thing, but the vanilla really balances it out. I wouldn't get this if you're looking for something heavy on the cherry. I didn't get any cherry and I wouldn't have guessed it was in the notes. Same with the florals tbh

Nothing wildly special for me. Dozens of more interesting cherry Fragrancs out there.

I definitely get vanilla, dark cherry, and an undertone of slight bitterness.

I loved this when I initially purchased the biggest size bottle of it. It smelled like a sweet creamy vanilla with a slight dark fruity touch. Within a couple months I started picking up straight cherry vanilla cola. From the nozzle it smells nice. But on skin I couldn’t stand the cherry vanilla cola scent. Ended up selling it.

I wanted to love this but sadly I can't smell it to save my life. The scent is so weak especially for the price. My bath & body works mists are ten times as strong. I had the same issue with the Marshmallow one too.

This is a pretty traditionally "perfumey" fragrance. To me, the least noticeable note is vanilla. It smells more like an herbal powdery shampoo.

Generalmente no tengo problemas con las brumas pues son lo que son y duran lo que dura una bruma. Con esta wow ... la compré en Marshal creo mo recuerdo bien , y por el precio nada perdería . Pues bien la use solo y digo solo 3 veces y las 3 veces repetidamente me dijeron que si estaba enferma 🤧 y si había usado -> vicks el ungento 😱 si ese mismo que nos ponían la nonnas para respirar mejor. Nunca y digo nunca había recibido peor cumplido que este . Y bueno mis respeto a quien le guste y la encuentre una bruma “fantástica” para mí y digo para mi es todo menos fantástica. Dicho esto , yo el uso que le doy es de ambientador de cocina . SorryNotSorry . Pero me parece una bruma horrible .

Scooped up the body mist version of this at Burlington bc it was so inexpensive and listed cherry in the notes. I like it but don't get much cherry. It's ok bc it is a nice nutty vanilla that avoids being uber sweet and cloying with the incense and balsam added in there. It develops quickly, fades, and has to be oversprayed or reapplied but my expectations weren't high for complexity or longevity for the price I paid. It's a nice vanilla for cool weather (I don't think many vanillas are meant for warm weather tho, IMHO). I'm not blown away or anything but I don't regret picking it up at all either. I researched a tiny bit and saw that Ellis Brooklyn is a "clean" or non-toxic line, which I dig. I've picked up a couple more since (Sand, Peaches) and they are enjoyable in the same capacity. Easy to like and inoffensive.

I have worn this every day since I got it 3 weeks ago. It is the perfect fall/winter everyday vanilla for me. This is exactly what I wanted Wicked Vanilla Woods from BBW to smell like. They are definitely in the same family, but compared to Vanilla Sin, WVW is just screechy and not as nicely blended. It also pulls much more spicy on my skin than vanilla. This one though, the vanilla is clearly the main character here and she is supported by the spices, which makes this my absolute favorite! The packaging is beautiful and the glass bottle just looks and feels luxurious. I found the small bottle for $12.99 at Burlington and have already gone through 1/3 of it so I just recently sought out a large bottle on Mercari for a really good price as I have not seen this one at Marshalls/TJ Maxx yet.

this was my first Ellis Brooklyn purchase and I absolutely loved it during my first bottle. I repurchased not to long ago and idk what happened but I hate it now :( like to the point I can’t even stand the smell & it’s so weird because I had the same experience with black opium over red , clean reserve whipped cherry , && b&bw oh cherry. im starting to realize a pattern here lol so im gonna just say my nose is not fond of cherry anymore or maybe im needing something more complex who knows but yeah id still give this a 7/10 only because the longevity and silage suck compared to marshmallow

Why wasn't this Ellis's release for the Fall of 2024 as a PERFUME that lasts!!! This scent is one of the best from her! I wish it were a perfume and lasted longer. Dear sky is nice, but it should've been next year's (2025) spring release... poor decision for the brand in my opinion... Vanilla sin is too good to only be a fading body mist! Hope Ellis reconsiders making this a permanent perfume added to her amazing collection/releases (like the standout Miami Nectar) in the near future. Fuming about her releasing the Dear Sky perfume over this as a perfume lol.

Very yummyyyy! Quite sweet and vanilla bourbon heavy with a hint of cherry and hazelnut. I also get a tiiiiiny bit of incense, but as someone who doesn’t normally like too much smokiness, it’s not too sharp here. I don’t get any florals or peru balsam. My only complaint is that the sillage is quite minimal and it fades within 3 hours. In terms of perfumes listed as similar— ✔️ Nest Vanilla Bourbon: similar but a but deeper and missing the light nuttiness ❌ Lovefest Burning Cherry: much more cherry heavy rather than vanilla heavy

Opening of the initial spray was nice - a warm vanilla almond smell, then it immediately settles into a headache inducing cherry car air freshener, with some unpleasant muskiness, almost medicinal. Rubbed this off my wrist real quick 🥴 It also smells like the type of perfume someone would spray to cover up the the smell of cigarettes. Queens Caramel is the last fragrance I try before I give up on this brand lmao. Sorry Ellis Brooklyn, maybe we just aren’t meant to be.

I get a lot of indistinct soapiness in the beginning of spritzing this scent. It’s definitely a year round sort of scent because it stays fresh with the powdery nuttiness. I smell more almond freshness than actual juicy cherry but even with 6 spritzes in my hair it wasn’t that strong but somehow gave me one do the worst headaches I’ve gotten in awhile? How does a body mist do that? Haha

I don't like gourmands, but I picked this up for $15 while Ellis Brooklyn phases out the bottles. For a vanilla, I find it surprisingly creative. It's not a vanilla I have smelled before, so it's welcome I'm my collection. It's warm, it's spicy, it's not too sweet. The incense and balsam are nice. One complaint, the opening has a slightly medicinal smell like carmex.
