BE BY MY SIDE (흐노니)

Purchased this last year and it is my special occasion fragrance. Being Korean myself, I feel like ELOREA does a great job of capturing a particular cultural identity into their fragrances. I feel proud to wear it. To me, the ginseng note is the predominant smell with the musk powering it through. I feel as this is completely unisex, maybe leaning slightly feminine due to the sweetness.

Walked around two malls, had kbbq for dinner and can still smell this on myself after getting home. The ginseng, rose and suede are perfectly placed. Hauntingly beautiful.

This smells nothing like Comme des Garcons 2 and Im hoping the two people who thought it does didnt have a stroke or something

I get a strong whiff of Timbuktu on first spray, all dry spice and vetiver, albeit a little smoother. The fragrance quickly settles into a mostly vetiver and a tea-like ginseng, rounded out by bergamot and rose. No suede per se (at least to my nose), but a musky earthiness that keeps everything grounded. Pure vetiver at the very end. I feel robbed of a true ginseng fragrance, to be quite honest. Ginseng has a distinctive rooty, bitter, soil-like, medicinal scent that is hardly present here. Many popular, mainstream skincare products capture that smell perfectly (I'm thinking of Sulwahsoo primarily), so it's surprising that they've shirked from going full ginseng with this one. Then again, ELOREA really only makes incredibly safe and accessible scents, so perhaps I shouldn't have expected as much. No less beautiful, mind you, but not more than office-friendly.

Spicy red ginseng over suede that is so soft to the touch. Ginseng has an aromatic spiciness that is mild, along the lines of ginger or cardamom. The ginseng here reminds me a bit of ginseng hard candies. It is neither bitter nor medicinal. The opening is vetiver and ginseng. A delicate grounding musk. A gothic, depressing rose that reminds me of the austere red rose from Nirvana Rose. It is mostly linear, aside from a faint sourness that appears 15 minutes in and the ginseng softening. Comforting, smooth, romantic I have the feeling of a wool blanket over my shoulders as I sit by a bedside window. Outside is dreary, but I am safe. It is unisex, but I think it would be very attractive on a man. The notes blend together beautifully. I think it is the best composition out of The Forgotten Words.

A soft yet slightly woody blend of suede, rose and ginseng. Definitely has that gingery/cardamom facet from the ginseng that gives this scent some levity, and then the base evolves into a slightly sweet floral/vanilla/vetiver muskiness with time. Very unisex, reminds me a bit of Penhaligon's cairo if it were more earthy/less heavy on the rose. I am also reminded a bit of Zara Magnificently Dubai thanks to the spicy ginger aspect. Really nice for the colder months!

I am obsessed. I bought a sample of this, and then bought TWO full sized bottles. I have never done that before. I like to sample perfumes but I’m more of a signature scent kind of girl. This has become my every day fragrance. It’s perfectly unisex, kind of mysterious, very alluring. Ginseng is the frontrunner here, with an almost sugared rose scent strengthening as the fragrance settles. The vetiver and suede are the strongest base notes on me but the faint bergamot and vanilla keep it from being too masculine. The vanilla note is almost unrecognizable, but I tend to layer my perfumes over Orabella’s Nightcap, which adds a touch of sweetness. I would honestly wear this all year round, maybe only for night time in the summer though. Definitely amazing for spring and autumn, and lovely in the winter too. Sillage is great, it leaves a soft trail as I walk, and projection is moderate. It lasts almost all day on me but it doesn’t stay intense, so by the end of the day it is a little more intimate. Having grown up in South Korea, this fragrance just gives me such a nostalgic warm feeling. It is just so beautiful and unique. Finally a perfume that makes me feel like me

It reminds me of the Korean sauna. This scent is very distinctly Korean! It evokes hanbang and the houseware sections of the Korean store. It is very unisex and doesn’t smell very perfumey. It smells almost like your home just naturally smells this way and clung to your clothing. It’s clean, very pleasant, and it lasts 3 days!

The soft spicy smell of the ginseng and rose create an amazing mix within this perfume. When first sprayed, there is so much spice from the top notes, and those end up fading perfectly on top of the rose and suede. This is a beautiful and complex scent.

Fresh,clean, vaguely manly. Smells very reminiscent of cdg2, and I see as I come to write this I am not the first to have this thought. Quite nice but a bit too “people pleaser” for me
