Black Forest Bourbon

this is an incredible fragrance, perfect for every season. notes of dark chocolate, rum and cherry are just a heavenly combination. The smell is exactly how its described as, chocolate covered cherries. It will leave you smelling sexy and confident. having every head turn when you walk by. The intoxicating note of rose is the final touch that makes this Frangrance my favorite. It lasts all day and is worth every penny.

The cherry smell threw me off a bit at first but after...I let it settle on my skin and it toned down and I felt more like an edible arrangement.

This reminds me of Cherry Ambition but without the big saffron spiciness that one has. This is a very boozy cherry fragrance and it smells kind of like an alcoholic cherry drink. This is the kind of perfume that a lot of men really gravitate towards on a woman in today's age and while I think it's a well-made one, it's not really my style. It's extremely gourmand and very sweet. I just keep imagining this alcoholic drink in front of me with several cherries inside of it. Or a box of cherry cordial chocolates with the liqueur inside and the dark sweet cherry inside It literally smells like these things. Very rum heavy If you like rum fragrances you will really like this one. The alcoholic note in Cherry Ambition is much more of a cognac fragrance. Black forest Bourbon is a true rum fragrance instead. I can see wearing this during the holidays, everyone will love how you smell because let's face it gourmands are so popular today. My husband would love it if I went around smelling like this 24/7 and while I can appreciate this for what it is and it is a well made gourmand it's just not my style. What I'm wearing today by Guerlain La petite robe noir black Perfecto is my favorite cherry fragrance and while I think that one is sweet it has more of a powdery sophistication about it keeps from absolute gourmand territory.. I will wear my sample but it won't be a full bottle purchase. If you love rum soak cherry fragrances with hints of chocolate you'll really love this. I will save my sample for thanksgiving gathering this year. Etc . It's not something I wear for myself. For me it would make a better home candle fragrance but it is a well made one. And I've smelled very expensive "niche" cherry fragrances that were supposed to create this type of vibe and don't succeed. Again, if you like sweet gourmand and boozy cherry fragrances sample this. Elysian has an excellent sample service.

How do they get away with saying this is an Extrait?! I can barely smell it. What I can smell is ok, I get no rose and no chocolate like I'd hoped for. Next...EDIT: 9/1/24, Maybe this needed some time to sit bc I'm spending Labor Day testing and retesting and this decant was on the chopping block. I take back what I said. I get the chocolate and the cherry in the drydown and this is pretty strong actually. I like it!! Won't be a full bottle purchase but I'll definitely use up this 10 ML decant. I'm liking the chocolate in this, I really get that note.

I’m so torn on this one, because initial spray it’s a delicious boozy cherry that I absolutely adore ... and then it turns into flintstones chewable vitamins. Thought I was crazy until I asked my fiance if it was giving him chewable vitamins and he immediately went “yes those flintstones ones!” So I end up spraying something else overtop to try and cover that scent, but as soon as you recognize it you can’t stop smelling it.

I agree with the other reviewers - at first, this fragrance is pretty close to perfect, especially if you like darker gourmands. However, on my skin the drydown is straight flintstones vitamins (as another reviewer accurately pointed out!). It smells super cheap and gives off a very cloying artificial medicinal vibe, so this one is unfortunately a pass for me.

I love cherry scents, but this is way too powdery for me. The cherry smells very synthetic with no depth. It reminds me of a cherry car air freshener. No thank you.

A delectable combination of creamy dark chocolate, smooth bourbon, & sweet black cherries. I’ve mentioned in here before, but I’ll repeat that I’m not usually a huge fan of boozy fragrances, but the dark chocolate & sweet cherry notes perfectly counteract the richness of the bourbon, which remains smooth throughout. I’ve called it the cousin of Angels Share, but instead of rich apple pie, it’s a decadent cherry dessert.

I absolutely love this fragrance! I used to not be a fan of cherry fragrances but this one changed my mind! I think what sets it apart is the beautiful rose drydown that emerges along with the cherry. I saw someone mention below that it smells medicinal but I don't get that at all. To me, it smells like the most decadent chocolate-covered cherry and I am in love!

If I remember correctly, this smells almost the same as Dua cherry by the fire, which is a lost cherry x by the fireplace hybrid. I don't hate this, first use I actually really liked it, second use I made the connection to that fragrance and got turned off of it for some reason.
