Cafe Avellana

Cafe Avellana is niche perfume done to perfection! To me, this perfume is absolutely, positively, full-on gorgeous. Café Avellana opens as a straight-up, warm, creamy, steamy, milky coffee macchiato. The opening emerges with beautiful and discernible, chocolate, coffee and hazelnut notes that are warm, milky, creamy, smooth and very lactonic. On my skin however, the chocolate and coffee notes are MOST prominent only in the perfume's opening. I do NOT detect prominent coffee and chocolate notes as the fragrance develops. Within 10 minutes, EXCEPTIONALLY SWEET, smoky, floral and woody mid-notes emerge, which I identify as sweet tobacco leaf, tobacco flower, rose and oud. And creamy, smooth, ethereal, lactonic, vanilla base-notes also emerge. All the notes effortlessly blend. And for hours afterwards, I'm left with a delectable fragrance of very sweet but dry tobacco leaf, mature rose, sweet oud, creamy vanilla and wafts of creamed coffee, pepper and cinnamon. The ingredients are really top-notch. The perfume is exquisitely and perfectly balanced and blended. And I'd say Cafe Avellana is an intimate wear, with little silage and good performance. Yes, there are wafts of coffee, chocolate and some nutty goodness in the fragrance. However, the tobacco and oud pull the fragrance AWAY from full-on gourmand territory. Notes of 1) fine, unburnt, pipe tobacco w/rose, 2) aged oud wood and 2) lactonic, sweet, milky, vanilla creaminess linger most. I am actually very surprised at how much I adore this perfume. Cafe Avellana is really beautiful and I'm delighted I own a 50ml bottle!

This smells like dragons blood incense and I don’t get any of the notes listed. It’s very headache inducing.

I got introduced to this brand at Scentxplore and the energy and charm at their booth was so endearing that sniffing the fragrance for the first time made so much sense. The uncomplicated beauty of it all, y’know? To my nose and on my skin, I enjoyed a pairing of prominent hazelnut, dusty chocolate powder, lightly bitter coffee grounds and then in comes a frothy milky sweet cream. I’m very picky about my gourmands since I don’t usually enjoy sticky sweet scents, but if all gourmands were like this, point me to the gourmand girlie train 🤤🥰. I’m now a proud of a 10ml spray in the most beautifully frosted glass packaging.

I have a million amazing things I could say about this fragrance, but I’ll just explain how it makes me feel first. Imagine being in Paris on a cool Spring day and walking into the closest local cafe, filled with the scent of fresh coffee & buttery pastries, some of them filled with Nutella. That’s exactly how this smells. It opens with rich coffee & creamy hazelnut, followed by subtle hints of tobacco & a very light sprinkle of cinnamon, then comes the buttery croissant & creamy chocolate middle, all atop a rich, oudy base that balances out some of the sweetness without overpowering it.
