Ungaro Love Kiss

I rescued this bottle from my daughter's declutter. She'd purchased it blindly a few months ago and then felt that it was superfluous in her collection as she has many other fruity florals that she prefers and that are less generic than this one. Now I'm not saying that she is wrong. This is quite a nice scent but it really is sort of generic. Still, I love a pineapple note and here the carambola tempers its sweetness. This fragrance is really such an inoffensive, pleasant, easy wear and I don't have that many like it in my collection. The closest scent to it in my collection would probably be Burberry Brit Sheer though that one's much more shampooey and doesn't have the slight powderiness that this one does. What's really remarkable though is how well preserved this scent is. The batch code attests that it was produced in 2012, the year this fragrance was launched, and indeed the pink color has faded and the liquid is practically clear now. The scent however is amazingly preserved. No off notes, not a hint of anything having turned or any notes being lost, even the citrus! Also, I can't detect any of those nose-burning aroma chemicals that are so ubiquitous nowadays. I think I'm going to enjoy this scent. Edit - 2/25 - I've since acquired a few more scents of this same floral/tart fruity genre (Kate Spade NY and Coach Floral Blush) and also realized that DBIR Coral Fantasy is also of a similar vein although louder. Still, I can't bring myself to declutter any of them. Just gonna try to focus future purchases on other genres..

You can't blow the money on an Ungaro come on now...! The first quality would be the great sillage and longevity!!!!! Is that kind of perfume you can smell a day later on your clothes and earphones as well. It's floral and sweet! It reminds me of alien! Lovely!!!!

Well, FragranceNet sent me this flanker instead of the original. However, it was a good surprise. This has really low sillage and longevity. However, it is currently winter. I am going to try again in summer to hopefully bring out a typical Emanuel Ungaro longevity and sillage. This is a really pretty floral/fruity fragrance nonetheless!

25.januray 2013 OK, maybe i don ́t do fair justice to this fragrance, since it is below zero outside and a lot of snow and this is a very summery fragrance, but i want to start by saying that it has literally no good staying power and sillage. Yes, it is EDT, but it is very weak. I can hardly smell it very close to my skin after 4 hrs already. For me this is a weak one. It is quite syntetic and starts with a blast of carambola and soft notes of pineapple on the background. Carambola is actually most dominanting note here, not pineapple. Then there is a strong freesia with a soft (again) note of citrus. All is very much dissolved and very watery. No rose, no sandalwood, ok, maybe... MAYBE a almost non-existing musk note with a trace of orchid, but i wouldn ́t guess them if i didn ́t know they are present here. Might be quite good for hot summer day, but today while i was testing it i was very dissaponted. I still will not rate it as a dislikable one, because i will give it another try during summertime and will definitly write an update review. This is NOT a bad fragrance at all, it just has a bad quality. UPDATE (few hours later): OK, so i have found a press release for this fragrance and it expalins all. (my personal translation into english, so be kind) "Female floral fruity fragrance "Ungaro Love kiss" is created by the house Emanuel Ungaro in 2012. This fresh, moderatly sweet, slightly woody and citrusy, floral fruity fragrance by Ungaro is launched as an uplifting, refreshing, exotic perfume which reflect the multifaceted aromas of exotic beaches. This fragrance imporves your mood, gives you a sense of chill and relax on a hot summer day. Better is to be used as a day fragrance, fuly blooms during warm spring-summer period of the year". Well, you see, probably i was dissapointed also because it is still a summer time fragrance and now it just doesn ́t "blooms" like it should be. And yes, it indeed gives you chilling and refreshing feeling, so i better go back and buy one bottle while it is still on sale and try it during this summer, so i can give a fair justice to the juice. :) UPDATE (30.january 2013). Ok, now i have purchased several botles of this fragrance and gifted some to my girls and they love it! And you know what? It does smell amazing on them, maybe my nose is just used to more potent fragrances, more heavy, more orienatl, but after sniffing it on them i alos degan to like it very much and bought ALL the bottles they had in the store. I remeber when recently visiting a friend of mine after entering her apartment the forst thing i asked: "My, what smells soooo good?" And the answer was: "Well, that ́s your gifted Ungaro!" YUM! :))

Can anyone compare this to a well known fragrance? I don't want to blow 20 bucks at Marshall's. I happened to luck out on the Ungaro 2007, pink box and lips also on the box. Update: I picked this up and it's a little too sharp of a floral. If you like Parissiene or Paris you may like this.
