Painting It Sweet

This is really nice. Gourmand and sweet - it is a little powdery but that's helping to keep from getting into cloying territory. And it does have something special about the way it smells that I want to keep sniffing. Moderate projection. Almost has a little bit of a floral-freshness underneath the gourmand. But it isn't floral-heavy or floral-forward imo. Very nice! P.S. This is nothing like Angels Share.

Overall, while this is a very sweet perfume and not exactly for me, it's well structured and appealing, with enough going on to keep from being just a sugar bomb. I don't dislike it, although it's too heavy and rich for work. Emil Elise perfumes seem to have a certain similarity—although this is definitely different from, say, Melting Lust, it clearly shares DNA. The sillage is pretty close but the smell is intense. These are not casual perfumes. I would not call it a gourmand—too floral, with the citrus fading quickly and the honey lost in the general sweetness. Over time: Starts sweet and orangey, with the citrus very apparent, but almost immediately settles into something sweet and floral, with the orange notes fading into the background. After ten minutes I get fresh and floral, with no gourmand notes at all; after 30 minutes it has a spicy (musky) warmth underlying the flowers, the citrus is completely gone, and the rose is starting to peek out. An hour in, and it's all sweetness and florals with a tiny bit of honey and musk. After 2-3 hours it's a generically sweet smell with a slightly unpleasant undertone. After 4, it's pretty much gone.

I really really like this one, I was scared it would be too powdery grandma's perfume flowery but it's not at all, it smells much more clean and sophisticated. On my skin the musky vanilla really comes through, which I love, it balances the flowers and sweetness, however after a while it does turn a bit too bitter. I feel like it disappears fast on me though, but almost all perfumes do. The rose, honey and pear come through most for me, it's like having some white tea with honey, some rose turkish delight and a fresh pear in your garden during the afternoon, but it's not too light and dandy and has this seriousness added with the more woody, musky base. I like it a lot, it's a very elegant and feminine scent, very clean but not too airy.

Finally on Fragrantica! Much more gourmand than I would expect based on these notes. I thought almond would be one of the main notes, but possibly it is just the honey. It is sweet as the name suggests and it actually does smell a bit like paint, but in the best way possible.
