English Laundry Signature for her

I really love this fragrance! I’m no snob in any way, if it smells good and makes me feel good, I’m in regardless of the prestige of the brand. I do believe this is highly underrated, both the house and this particular fragrance. I first encountered this one as a sample in a beauty box subscription, really liked it and looked for it online but had no desire to pay what I saw it going for. Found it one day by chance at Ross for a steal and didn’t hesitate! On me, this is very feminine and sweet. No freshness or Laundry scent . You really need to not think of the name... When I hear “English laundry” I’m thinking fresh, roses, floral, green. This is none of those things. It’s like assuming “Love Notes” by Ellen Tracy smells like papyrus, ink and wax. Or that any fragrance by Diesel smells like oily fumes. It’s just the designer name! This is a delectable fragrance. I can’t even really pick out what it is, it is just sweet and warm and comforting. It says white chocolate, so sure, I’ll go with that. It is cozy and intriguing, not juvenile by any means. The Sillage is fine, no monster but adequate, longevity could be better but it may be much longer on others (my skin tends to eat fragrance, sadly). It isn’t heavy or cloying, just feminine, pretty and inviting. I can’t really comment on how it compares to BS Fantasy because I have actually never smelled the original..! The 3.4oz bottle I got came in a super cute “velveted” box, giving the impression of being far more high end than my actual expensive fragrances. I bought a trio of purse sprays from the same house (Signature, No 7 and Notting Hill) and I really, really like all 3. This one and No 7 are my favorites but Notting Hill is growing on me.

Gorgeously saccharine and powdery, very pretty scent, a bit overpowering at first but settles nicely on the dry down. The powdery musk notes come through very well on me. The white chocolate note is clear and sweet, somewhat artificial but good. The quince is fruity, sharp and bright. The woody base notes blend well with the musk to make it interesting and add some contrast and dimension to the sweetness. Comes together to smell soapy and clean. Does not smell super expensive or sophisticated, and the floral is a bit underpowering, but that's not a bad thing here, it's still very nice. Good longevity, I'm left with a nice powdery woody musk 6-8 hours on, but the quince and floral scents taper off sooner. I definitely think I'll get a second bottle, though not for full price. Comes up at my local discount store frequently, definitely worth buying from there.

picked this up at marshalls on a whim and i love it!!! i’m not usually a fruity or floral person but this is an exception because it has just the right amount of musky sweetness to balance out what i’m not usually a fan of; the white chocolate note is super interesting and adds the perfect amount of sweet to balance out the woody musky notes that some may find offensive and i find it to be a perfect scent for when i’m feeling more feminine! edit: i feel the one downside of this is it doesn’t last very long on the skin, even when moisturizer is used which supposedly prolongs how long the fragrance lasts. however, it lasts long on the clothes!

Is Britney Spears' Fantasy too sugar sweet for you but you like the white chocolate note? This might please you then. It's a more refined, grown up gourmand in the same family. I wouldn't recommend paying as much as being charged online though. $90? Pfft. I got this for 12 bucks at Ross. Keep an eye out for it at discount places. You'll probably like it. I do. It's very nice. The jasmine and the musk and the quince really balance out the white chocolate nicely. Not that I have an issue with toothache perfumes myself. I love em. But I can see how this would be a happy medium for perfume lovers who are sensitive to gourmands.

I picked this up for a song at a discount store, knowing it was similar to Fantasy. It is, but less tart and softer, more feminine, less in-your-face sweetness in the drydown. I agree with others that have said it is a more grown up version of Fantasy. It doesn't have the beastly sillage, which I appreciate because let's face it, Fantasy is far too intense at times. On me the longevity is quite good. I'm on hour 6 right now and it's still going strong. If you have Fantasy, you don't need this. If you like Fantasy but find it too sour/candyish this might be a better choice for you.

A sniff of English Laundry takes me back to a time in my life where I wore very short skirts and belonged to nobody. People say that scent holds memories but I never really understood that until I picked this up off of my shelf after not having worn it for multiple months and was sent back to the basements and backyard bonfires of a life that is no longer mine. It is the adolescent girl’s idea of a grown woman’s perfume. I adore it, but it does not belong to me anymore.

Sweet musky floral with a hint of fruity Quince. Fresh white floral and a powdery Orris root nicely blended with the wood accords in the base. Love this. Easy grab and spray out-the-door; pretty fresh girl vibes. The White Chocolate gives this a slight Gourmand essence without being too complicated or sickly sweet. Easy peasy no fuss, feminine fragrance!

definitely closer to Fantasy than anything else, but it's a tad more grown up. alas, it is forever associated in my mind with a bittersweet memory, so i will not be repurchasing. at least not any time soon.

Let me set the scene here. I smelled wafts of this while waiting in a 12 hour long line to meet an actor that means a lot to me. In the air I smelled sweet laundry detergent and in the hot sun it was wildly refreshing. I ended up finding the girl near the end of the line and this smell became attached to meeting someone on my bucket list. I purchased it that night and just received it in the mail. I know the lasting power is minimal but what really shocked me is how similar the opening is to fantasy. I doubted the similarities when I saw it compared because in the air it didn’t smell like that, it does dry down and loose that cheap candy ish smell and the freshness comes through the longer I wear it. Overall I’m happy with my purchase considering the scent memory and how affordable this is! I do pick up a nice soapy detergent smell almost like wearing a sweet perfume over freshly laundered clothes. This is nice for me since I don’t have many fresh clean perfumes and I would probably enjoy wearing it to bed or to run errands !

As an explorer and collector of all things fragrant, I was pleasantly surprised by this offering from English Laundry. This is a a slightly gourmand fruity tart sweet scent. At the open, there is a white chocolate note mixed with a sweet and sour fruity note. That sour note dissipates as the fragrance dries. Next this turns really sweet, almost like a sweet cranberry. This lasts about an hour. Next up, musk and the laundry accord referenced in prior reviews. The laundry musk is really pronounced here, very punchy, but still fruity. At drydown, this is pretty much the same, just much softer with a recognizable jasmine note and the woody notes. This is not a sophisticated scent, but it is cute and fun. It's a little young for me, but I would wear this in casual settings, shopping, going to the movies.

This is like a simplified version of Fantasy from Britney Spears. Comparing the notes of both, you can see why. Regardless, just on it's own it's a beautiful scent at a really low price. It's a "start the car!" kind of low price. It's a steal. I think I paid around $8 on clearance at Winners after Christmas for a 100ml bottle. It is a very girly and sweet, almost gourmand scent. But it also has a lightness and fresh quality. I think it could work for summer as it's not too heavy a scent and sillage is not excessive. I have a couple from this brand now and they are exceptional quality at a very reasonable price. I'm hoping to see more from them.

Gorgeous fragrance. I don't think this smells like anything I have and I have a lot of scents. I think this is one of those either love it or hate it scents. Top notes: Quince. Middle: White chocolate, & jasmine. Base notes: Orris root, musk, and wood notes. On myself I smell the wood and musk immediately. My chemistry always picks them out of a fragrance. I don't pick up the quince much, but I do smell the white chocolate which is nice. Personally on myself, this is a nice grown up fragrance that reminds me of a garden with nice wood smells and jasmine.

Light, pleasant, sweet scent. It smells more like quince syrup with sugar rather than fresh fruit and quince notes has less projection than musk and jasmine. There is powdery tone to it but it stays in background. Depending on distance different notes dominate. Once it settles after 10 minutes the scent remains unchanged. Alcohol smell goes away within 20 seconds which is added bonus for cheaper end products. Lasts on me about 4 hours. I sometimes pair it with Commodity Milk- to make it more deep and woody. Overall, decent fragrance for the price range.

This is a bit light and dainty for me, but it's pretty and sweet. I sprayed it on my arms after using my Philosophy Fresh Cream body lotion and it gave a bit of creamy heaviness that it lacked. Great combo. I also have Philosophy Fresh Cream perfum and I love to layer it with frags that are a bit too light for my liking or perfumes that are a bit too tart with berries.

For those that want the inbetween of a gourmand and floral, I'd say. I put this as a fall/winter fragrance which might be a hot take but there's something about it that is really soft. On the nose it could give you spring vibes, I guess, but it's the sort of lightness I would want to keep away my S.A.D. while still being somewhat on theme for the time of year.

This perfume really reminds me of Fantasy. It feels slightly less sharp which I actually really like. It’s so lovely and sweet, and I can smell a lot more of the White Chocolate in this compared to Fantasy. Overall, so lovely but for the price I will stick to Fantasy, as there’s not enough difference to sway me to buy this instead.

I would definitely agree that this smells very similar to Fantasy. It’s very sweet and very juicy, almost a bit aquatic, though I think that’s just because it’s so juicy, like chewing on a stick of Juicy Fruit gum. I also get a strawberry candy/ cupcake sort of thing. Very sweet and delicious.

English Laundry Signature pour femme is a beautiful, sweet and soft gourmand which makes a great bedtime perfume. Nothing complicated, just perfect in the evenings when I'm cuddled up with a movie. FYI, this is much stronger and more beautiful in summer weather. Sweet, fruity, summer gourmand.

Was hoping for a creamy white chocolate, but this is a powdery and synthetic shadow of the great perfume, Fantasy by Britney Spears. Imo if you own and love Fantasy, this is completely redundant and unnecessary. That said, it does smell good and the bottle is attractive.

Sweet floral musk with a hint of powder, very sweet and delicious fragrance. The first spray I get a huge whiff of quince, then drys down into a soft chocolate jasmine that compliments very well with my skin.

Smells pretty much like Britney Spears Fantasy...maybe a touch lighter and softer...smoother. Very pretty scent. Also, English Laundry is the brand...not the scent.

A slightly more grown up version of Britney's Fantasy without the sillage or staying power. Meh.

This definitely smells nearly identical to Fantasy on the top to my nose. Apparently an unpopular opinion, but I prefer the English Laundry! The fruitiness lasts longer, and it has a softer, less musky dry down. My boyfriend said it smells like watermelon. I get mostly that fake fruity smell shared with Fantasy, vanilla, and a bit of musky powder. Honestly, Fantasy evokes too many childhood memories for me to enjoy, so I am happy to have a similar alternative I can appreciate. Not my favorite perfume, but I can imagine it having some magic for others.

I feel like this fragrance lacks depth and needs something else to anchor it, even just vanilla. I don't usually say this about scents as it's generally unhelpful, but because the top notes are so strong and unbalanced it makes it smell juvenile and a little bit...cheap? For lack of a better word? The white chocolate note is lovely and I do like the tanginess of the fruit. Maybe I'll change my mind as I get to know it better.

Sweet, generic, musky floral. It smells very clean and comforting to me. This is your friends perfume when you were 19, in the most flattering way. Good for snuggling or spraying on bedsheets.

It smells like Fantasy by Britney Spears, but less sweet and more plasticky/artificial, i.e. cheap. Did not enjoy how it smelled on my skin

On my skin, this stays very one-note: powdery white chocolate. I normally enjoy sweet scents, especially when balanced with white floral, but this one is just too sweet and powdery on my body chemistry, without the floral, fruit, or wood notes really pulling through to offer reprieve. It also began to give me a headache after about an hour. I'm dissapointed, because this seemed right up my ally, based on the notes, but I'm glad that I got it in a christmas sampler.

This is extremely potent and strong for a woman’s fragrance. There’s a note in here I don’t particularly like and it is amplified. It’s like...sweet and synthetic. Imagine drowning yourself in super strong detergent or bathroom spray or one of those air wick air fresheners. I don’t like knocking indie brands and I especially don’t like knocking vegan and cruelty free brands but one spray of this on my wrist left me uncomfortable all day long!

This is absolutely identical to Elizabeth Arden 5th Ave NYC... It is not a dupe for fantasy, it is close but this has more white chocolate just like NYC. It's kind of weird smelling but I'm learning to like these two identical fragrances, as I'd like to use up my big bottles I bought of these thinking I'd like them since I like so many of their similar scents. But the white chocolate note smells weird on my skin.

this opens with quince and white chocolate-tart and sweet. personally the quince is a little overpowering for me, it gets screechy. i think i'd actually like this perfume if it had no fruit notes (which i mostly avoid.) also it's quite chemical smelling and does not seem to fade out much. the notes didn't sound too bad but this is just not working.

Do you want to smell like metal with a hint of cheap artificial floral? If you do, this is the scent for you! Out of the 3 purse sprays that came in my set from English Laundry, this one is easily my least favorite. Out of the other two, one is wearable and one is actually fairly nice. I can't wear this one, though.

I had the same reaction to this fragrance as OIMagnolia. Nice opening, but for some reason once the quince note disappears, all I'm left with is an overly sweet, musky laundry scent. It's a shame since I enjoyed the opening and kept sniffing my wrists. It's four hours later and I just want this fragrance off of me.

Incredibly sweet to me and oddly smells like synthetic watermelon, although that isn't a note? It definitely smells candied like a hard candy rather than a rich chocolate. Definitely no clean laundry vibes here

This smells like a VERY WEAK and very short lasting version of Fantasy by Britney Spears!!! That's it. It's Fantasy, but only 2/10 when the real Fantasy is 10/10 for me and you can find Fantasy for around $20 for the full size. For that reason, I wouldn't recommend Signature by English Laundry unless you find it extremely cheap and you want to give it to your kid so they can have something light that won't bother anyone if they overspray. 🤷🏼♀️ It's not terrible, but it's not worth even $5 to me. I have some Bath and Body Works body mists that last longer than this and I'm not even a fan of B&BW.

I really don't know much about fragrance, so I can't describe exactly what scents I smell. I enjoyed this a lot at first, reminding me of citrus and spice. However, after about 4 hours later it was overwhelmingly sweet and powdery, whichI do not like! It was giving me a headache and I had to try to wash it off my chest! I'm glad that it was part of a bargain English Laundry set I bought, cause it's going in the trash.

Some of the negative reviews for this fragrance have me scratching my head and wondering if we're smelling the same thing. I think skin chemistry is just a wild thing, because this does not smell cheap or remotely close to Fantasy on me (which is a fragrance that I loathe with every cell in my body, and which DOES smell cheap on me. Fantasy gives me an instant headache and a deep nausea that takes hours to shake). English Laundry smells decadent, sexy, expensive, and complex on my skin. There is a clean and mature woodiness underlying an unfurling cloud of delicious fruit and buttercream sweetness. It's ambrosial, the smell of innocence happily defiled. I first tried this in college, and at the time it seemed almost indecent to wear it in public because it was so decidedly carnal. It made me feel like I wasn't a kid anymore, but a young woman who was going to be experiencing passionate affairs and fleshly delights. So maybe part of my love for this scent is because I imprinted on it at a time when my hormones were already raging. But it still smells erotic and yummy to me, and while I don't wear it during the daytime because it's just too rich, I do love to spray it on my wrists before I go to bed so I can drift off to the scent.

Found this at Marshalls for $15, I instantly knew it was a dupe to Britney Spears Fantasy and Snooki’s perfume. I have to say, this perfume is well done. The bottle is beautiful looks like an expensive niche fragrance. It’s heavy, sturdy and the neck of the cap is encrusted with crystals. It has just enough fruitiness from the quince, smooth rounded sweetness from the white chocolate and a great base of orris root and musk to sustain its longevity. The notes mesh together very well. It leaves a lovely cloud of scent where ever you go. Formulated BS Fantasy is too sour and Snooki’s perfume, the gourmand notes are over powered by fruit. English Laundry is well balanced and delicious. I went into detail because this perfume is amazing. They “duped” a popular cult classic but made it better with their own version. I rate this a 10/10

Firstly it's not what you expect! Looking at the packaging and bottle suggests something classy, reserved, sophisticated and mature (in a good way). Then looking at the name I'd imagine clean, fresh, airy, English (so maybe rose), soapy. It's nice but it's none of those things. Yes I agree with comparisons to fantasy. There'd be no reason to have both in a personal collection and comparing prices...It's a no brainer. This really is the sweetest of the sweet. Which personally I enjoy in the right time and place. It's very pretty. But the kind of perfect pretty that could get annoying. Definitely not an everyday thing for me. But it does have its place when I'm in the mood.

Do not buy this full price, I saw this going for over $80 at some places? thats robbery. you can find this at discount stores around $10. this smells pretty cheap and has almost no sillage. there is no point of wearing this in a pandemic where people wear masks. maskless isnt much of an improvement but if you like skin scents it works. its a simple fresh white chocolate scent with a little bit of fruitiness to it. its nice for the $13 price tag at marshalls but has a weird metallic side to it. doesnt smell very expensive at all. def a scent for teens. i found the longevity pretty decent if you pair this with lotion, but the sillage is so weak that its barely there.

Got this at tj maxx for $15 and I really like it! Cute bottle with gems. It smells similar to Escada magnetism, which I love 💜 I’m impressed with this, I know some might snub the cheap perfumes and I do it sometimes myself but honestly this is classy and sexy and it’s actually long lasting on my skin and clothes. Would be a good date night or clubbing scent to me.

I get very sweet cotton candy which must be the white chocolate and I get the jasmine. VERY VERY SWEET SMELLING!!! Seems one noted and cheap like a teeny bopper scent. Don't like it at all reminds me a lil of exclamation!!!!!!!!

This was mixed In mens fragrance section @my local TJ Maxx. Gave it a spray out of curiosity, Ignore the pink bottle. Decent (sweet) unisex cheapie!

I really love this scent, but the longevity is weak. It is like Britney Spears Fantasy, but sweeter. Fantasy has better longevity.
