Noir Castle

This fragrance is really good for layering. You get this fresh spicy, woody, citrusy, apple vibe. I suggest that you put Noir Castle on your clothes as after the 30 minutes of projection, it stays super humble on your skin. Then once it’s on your skin, it lasts about 12 hours (it’s 6:42 pm when I’m writing this and I put it on at 6:25 am this morning for school). You should use this with another apple smelling fragrance or another fresh fragrance. Also an amazing rack store find. 8/10!

This smells like a direct clone of Spicebomb Night Vision EDT. It’s got the same sweetness and very similar opening. I don’t have a full review but just know that this is 95% similar to Spicebomb Night Vision EDT. I bought the set for $25 on Macys since it was on sale. They usually have that sale so I finally decided to buy it for such a cheap price. Worth the $25 for sure! If you like sweet scents, this is a perfect blind buy!

This was a blind subscription service add-on that I chose solely based on the listed notes. I didn't even realize it was sold as a men's fragrance. The opening is delicious, sweet and tangy fruit (far more green apple than grapefruit), and within an hour or so, the geranium and sandalwood peek through and round it out, taming down the sharpness a bit. After 2-3 hours, I'm left with a soft hint of citrus-floral and sandalwood. On me (a feminine-identifying woman) this smells very similar to Wild Poppy by Nest Fragrances, with only a slightly more masculine base. I can imagine loving this scent on a man too, and it would be nice for anyone who enjoys a mostly unisex but ever so slightly masculine fragrance that won't offend or overwhelm the senses. I don't think I'll be investing in the full size, as my tastes run a little sweeter and this doesn't have great staying power, but I have no complaints otherwise about this lovely all-season scent.

I like this one. It's sweet but it's pleasant especially when it dries down. I've never smelled Layton by Parfums de Marly, but I've read it more than a number of times that Noire Castle is a clone of that fragrance. I get about 5hrs max with this but I only paid $25 for a 3pc set from Macy's. It's too bad that English Laundry decided to water down their fragrances. The first run of their Frags like Cambridge Knight, Riviera, and Signature last a long time. I have those first yr releases and they're ridiculous with longevity. These newer releases including the ones I've listed do not last very long at all anymore. The company has traction on fragrances, if they'd only work on quality, balance and longevity they'd have more hits than misses. .

This actually smells like a clone of Viktor and Rolf Spicebomb Night Vision EDP, not the EDT like one review mentioned. The EDT is more bright and citrusy, but this smells almost exactly like the EDP version. For me, the OG doesn't really last that long or project a lot, so the English Laundry clone is a good cheap clone if you want to save some money.

#706 in my "Tour de Fragrance" I am always in for cedar and sandalwood base notes. Initially I was put in mind of Yves Saint Laurent's ubiquitous "Y" line ("Why?" It's a question I ask myself every time I smell one of them.). One reviewer was reminded of Carolina Herrera's "Bad Boy." Sure, if you subtract that hint of cannabis that make's you hope you don't get pulled over by a cop. Another was reminded of Ralph Lauren's "Ralph's Club." It does remind of that in that "Ralph's" is also versatile, inoffensive, nice enough for office wear, car pool, elevator, small space safe, but has no particular character that makes it stand out in a crowd. I have the same take on pretty much everything English Laundry puts out. Nothing stands out. It's all familiar, all intended to vaguely remind one of a more popular and pricey scent, without ever quite getting all the way there. Is "Oxford Bleu" an attempt to duplicate "Sauvage" or "Chanel Bleu?" Nobody cares. It's fine. Nothing intriguing or unique, but the prices make them a "Volvo safe" blind buy, and almost as boring (nothing is ever truly as boring as a Volvo). This scent is year round office wear/day wear for me. Your date isn't going to smell this and swoon, that's for sure. But as something to throw on in the morning on the way to a work day in the office, it's fine and it's cheap, and this will now join the other English Laundry scents I've kept on the shelf that all serve that purpose well enough. I'll try out "Crown" and "Throne" in the next two days as well. So far only "Notting Hill" was actually repulsive and went straight in the trash, as should have the '99 movie with Hugh Grant and a completely wasted Julia Roberts (Can't help but hear "Rotting Hill" in my head). Hugh was always destined to be an "Oompa Loompah" in a bad "Willie Wonka" remake. Good Luck and Good Hunting everyone!

It’s ridiculously sweet, closest I could compare it to is 1 Million edt. It’s pretty bad :(

Nice, but it's 90% similar to Invictus. There a hundreds of clones of Invictus now; I can't seem to get away from them.
