Oxford Bleu Femme

English Laundry has now provided me with two very lovely, very economical scents...Notting Hill and Oxford Bleu. Notting Hill was on clearance for some ridiculously low price at a Ross Dress for Less store, maybe $6 for a 3.4 oz bottle. I dont normally buy without smelling first or conferring with Fragrantica first. However, this was many years ago before I discovered Fragrantica and even though it was clearanced to sell, Ross had it in one of their "Don't you even think about shoplifting this $6 bottle of cheap perfume!" lock box, so no sniffing the nozzle. I've taken a few chances like this and so far 4 out of 5 have turned out well. The 5th one ended up in my gift closet although I dont know anyone I despise enough to gift it too, ha! English Laundry Notting Hill was a complete win, an 11 on a scale of one to ten. When I read that Oxford Bleu reminded others of BBW's Gingham, I was intrigued. Gingham is a fave. So I bought this for slightly less then BBW's Eau de Parfum strength Gingham on eBay at $35 to $45 a bottle, with this Oxford Bleu, same size, being $28, a reasonable price. Just got it in the mail. They do smell similar. Will update later on Longevity and Silliage. Now I'm interested in the two remaining frags in this line. Think I'll start with sample sprays just to be on the safe side.

Oxford Bleu Femme is absolutely stunning. I first found out about this scent as I got a sample in my Ipsy bag and bought a full bottle right away. The pineapple note really stands out on my skin, mixed with the amber and musk makes this creamy and vibrant. I am someone that generally prefers niche scents but this scent is one of my faves. My mom recently fell in love with it too. It's a very different scent on her. She doesn't get as much pineapple but instead gets the warm vanilla and sandalwood. This scent will always be in my collection. The longevity could be better but it's not awful.

you know how people taste cilantro differently based on their tastebuds? Some think it tastes like soap. I’m fairly certain I’m one of those people, yet I find myself enjoying the taste anyways. That’s exactly how I feel about this fragrance. It absolutely reeks of sunscreen and I adore it. Nothing is more summer-y. I also find myself thinking it leans a tad more gender neutral than the reviews suggest. I remember smelling this inside a tjmaxx once before I left, leaving, and then coming back not 10 minutes later because I knew it had to be mine.

This is such a nostalgic scent to me! I was surprised by all the notes listed by fragrantica, because to me, it reads as a very simplistic scent. To me, this smells “soapy,” like a fruity floral shampoo, with a warm base of sandalwood, musk, and vanilla :) The soapiness is also delicate, not sharp, and just slightly powdery. I would say it’s a light, fresh, clean, and inoffensive scent. I love wearing this when I want to smell good but not particularly like perfume lol.

This smells really nice! It's one of my go-to work fragrances. Fresh, clean, sweet and fruity. Its hot all year long where I live. This does well in my hot climate. It's not too strong, never gets cloying and is non-offensive. I don't have to worry about choking out someone in the next cubicle over. It doesn't last more than 3-4 hours on me but I dont mind reapplying because it was a cheapie. I got a full size bottle from TJ Maxx for $15.

Really powdery but in a really pretty way rather than old. Fruity and floral. On another review site I described it as a white sundress and broad brimmed straw hat fragrance. Picnic in the park, high tea in a botanical garden fragrance. Very pretty, very feminine. Not 40+ mature but more mature than is likely to appeal to early 20s. Very spring/summer, sunshiney. Not my personality but I still absolutely love it.

This perfume is SO light, clean, and fresh and has grown to be one of my favorite fragrances of all time. When I first sprayed it on, I got a lot of the fruity notes but upon dry-down, the vanilla and caramel began to come through. I'm typically not a fan of sweet or floral fragrances, but this is most definitely something I can get behind. The longevity is moderate and lasted about 6-7 hours on my skin.

Stunning, light, gentle, sweet. If you find something like Burberry Her too cloyingly sweet, this is a much gentler sweetness. There’s tons of fruits in the notes and I don’t smell any particular one. This doesn’t smell fruity or floral to me. It just smells “pretty.” I think it’d be appropriate for an office or a day date.

This is a near perfect match of Gucci’s Flora Gorgeous Gardenia EDP! It lasts much longer though. Sweet and fruity, not juvenile, and perfect for warmer months.

I don't have too much to add, but I'm surprised to find that I really like this. I think I'm really connecting to the powdery violet and vanilla vibe.

So gentle I like to sleep in it. I dont smell any of the fruit, just vanilla and soft flowers. Stunning.

A very nice inexpensive perfume. Great for those carefree days. Light and fruity.

You spent all day by the ocean and got drowned out by a rolling storm; now, you've waddled up to the beach house, showering to get the sand/shells/seagunk out of your hair. You slather yourself with the only soap available, a cheap body wash called "Island Breeze" in a fat plastic bottle. The rest of the day is spent reading on the screened-in porch, soothing your sunburn with oatmeal and aloe, popping blueberries into your mouth. Despite the stinging, there's a peace here, one you cannot access in any other conditions. This is a scent for casual maximalists — those who admire a clean scent but also like the electric buzz of an upcoming mystery note. Bad shampoo, white housedresses, running out into the rain to feel how hot it is. A razzle of aquamarine jewelry dangling from the neck. Abalone banisters. A former Breck Girl who's retired to the Outer Banks, painting watercolor portraits of other people's dogs, the back rooms all done up for her grandchildren. Love it or hate it, it is what it is. There's a stunning normalcy about the whole thing, really, and you can either reject it or acquiesce to it.

This scent is clean with a fresh, linen, or shampoo-like aroma, with a twist of noticeable fruity undertones that lean towards a luxurious shampoo fragrance. While the florals dominate the fruity notes, they blend harmoniously together. Though I detect hints of fruitiness and citrus, pinpointing the exact fruits is challenging. Overall, it's a light and versatile fragrance suitable for daily wear, whether it's around the house, running errands, or casual occasions. While it's not particularly sexy or suited for evening wear, its pleasant and uplifting nature offers a comforting vibe. The linen and fruity freshness evoke thoughts of spring and summer, but I'm curious to see how it fares as the weather cools during autumn. I was surprised when my teen daughter ended up liking it very much and requested her own bottle. Despite her preference for fresh and unisex scents, including some colognes, this fragrance complements her well. Update my daughter is older now and this is still one of her regularly used fragrances.

This is nice. It reminds me of a toned down less sophisticated creamier lotion vibes version of Lolita Lempicka. Its what I wish that had smelled like although the quality is not there which at the price I paid I’m not mad about. Not a dupe by any means but the same vibe with the anise note dialed way back. Anise isn’t a listed note but the pineapple and other notes are coming off very synthetic and to my nose it translates as soft anise spice. I like it even though it’s very synthetic smelling. It reminds me of a creamy fruity spicy lotion. It is very sweet and lasts long but doesn’t project heavily at all. It’s something I wouldn’t overspray to help it project though because the sweetness could become sickly or cloying for me at least.

The white flowers overpower the fruit and citrus in my opinion. Too floral for my tastes but I will try it again later to see if it grows on me. If you have an ipsy subscription they frequently have all 4 rollerballs and travel sprays for $5-15 in case you want to try them. The Notting Hill, Oxford Bleu Femme, the No 7, and the English Laundry Signature for her (which they renamed to English Laundry Pour Femme apparently). For $15 I was able to get travel sprays and/or rollerballs of all four and honestly that's worth more than the actual ipsy bag I got 😂 And luckily I really like the Notting Hill, this one is okay, but I haven't tried the other two yet.

Starts off as a lovely, smooth, fresh, clean, citrus, it doesn’t read as cleaning products at all to me as citrus so often does. It makes me think of a light, fresh, airy version of Devotion/Victoria, it has the same lemon meringue pie sort of thing, but in a less gourmand way, if that makes sense. As for all the florals listed, I don’t really pick up on them I think they just add to the fresh, slightly aquatic feel. It dries down to a light, sweet marshmallow scent, specifically if you have ever made homemade marshmallows or white chocolate fudge.

I love the clean smell, but it fades so quickly for me. I think ScreaminBeeman's review perfectly describes the feeling of this fragrance--Fresh and clean, like wrapping up in a fluffy robe after a long shower. It's great for wearing to the office or for those days when I can't quite decide what I want. I'm surprised to see the reviews saying that this has a long longevity; it was completely faded within half an hour when I sprayed it on my clothes and skin.

For having so many listed notes I have to say that this scent is pretty simple smelling. Very straight forward and pleasant nonetheless. I suppose it is supposed to smell like laundry so makes sense that it is pretty simple. Likeable, good general appeal. Not particularly interesting for a sweet fruity scent.

Fresh and clean, like wrapping up in a fluffy robe after a long shower. Good for a daily wear or when you want to feel a bit more put together. bright opening and dries down into a powdery amber. I would also suggest this as a bedtime fragrance to settle in snug as a bug at night.
