When Ensar Oud launched Sultan Leather Attar to stunning acclaim, he realized something...that even outside of its extraordinary and acclaimed pure 'oud and sandalwood oils, fragrance connoisseurs were hungry for rich, evocative blends that defy conventional trends. . But making an Eau De Parfum using its unprecedented collection of exquisite 100% natural materials, avoiding cheap and easy-to-use synthetics, was a big risk. Still, people were clamoring for an Ensar Oud Spray. And what does an all-natural Ensar Oud Spray EDP smell like? Rest assured you can imagine it involves leather, a blend that contains jaw-dropping materials such as $2,500/3gr 'Oud Kyara Mustafa oil, shiny, clean and powerful, extract of 'Wild Oud Hainan Sinensis from China' 13 Years Pure Thai Oud and Precious Rose Oil Carefully Aged from the Private Collection of Sultan of Oman Qaboos Said Hamad bin Hamoud Abu Said. The results are wonderfully rich, the leather, the 'oud sings of power and sophistication, the rose a perfectly lush counterpart, adding a romantic depth. There's no barnyard aspect here, just the elegantly masculine kind of warmth. A luxurious bottle presented in real Italian calf tanned leather also made entirely by hand, naturally tanned and pure leather completes the vision. EO No. 1 is a warm woody dark green floral leather fragrance, fantastic organic delicious perfume, 100% Natural/Handmade the perfect translation of 'Indie Perfumery'. The roses and 'Ouds with a leathery dark greenish animalic character shine from the opening to the base of the perfume, where it begins to take on an aspect of incensed woody tobacconized leather. EDPs like this don't always appear! Amazing debut parfum from Ensar Oud, EO No. 1 is a leather oud with boldness and refinement in one beautiful leather wrapped bottle. While I was blown away from first sniff, it took a few wearings to fully understand it and its performance. While I can see people labeling this as a winter fragrance, I think it actually performs better with some heat, with a richer and more full-spectrum radiation of its components. The notes listed are accurate and identifiable but beautifully blended. This is a leather composed without birch tar, and relying on the inherent qualities of the 2 different real oud oils used (capitalizing on the petroleum-like note found in real oud), the real vintage musk (not a vegan scent!), and I'm guessing some castoreum. Although no fruits are listed in the notes there is a an underlying sweetness that rounds out the fragrance and gives a slight jamminess to the rose. From the musk maybe? This is not a rose oud in the classic oriental sense, but rose the other florals, and the aged sandalwood bring complexity and soften and burnish what might have otherwise been an aggressive and rough oud/leather. I believe it is unisex. Two sprays to my stomach under my shirt lasted 12 hours, and all day I got wafts of delicious scent rising up when I moved. It is not a beast, after the initial gorgeous opening (1-2 hours) it settles in a small radius scent cloud, not a skin scent, but not a foghorn, either. As RogerM72 said, the far dry down does smell very, very close to the beautiful stitched leather bottle wrapper. You know when you wear a truly great fragrance, and throughout the day you sniff something amazing and ask yourself "what is that amazing smell?" And then you remember: it's you.

I was one of the lucky but crazy ones that managed to put hands on this. Something about the bottle: stunning to say the least, encapsulated in a pure leather cover, hand crafted, that smells wonderful. Really a plus. About the fragrance: to my nose it starts with a blast of musk. Even though it is not listed here, I am pretty sure I did read the presence of real musk on their website when the preorder was launched. It is so strong that made me sneeze a lot. I might be mistaken, as many reviewers said that they smelled Cambodian Oud. I detect Oud, but at a later stage. Rose makes its way in the heart of the process. Not only Taif was used here, but an oil of a certain type of rose distilled in the ‘80s (don’t remember the name). A leathery smell comes up quite slowly as time passes, and it feels so smooth, resembling what you smell from the bottle cover. Well done, but there’s a problem with longevity. I heard that. EO is thinking of a second batch, making it stronger and lasting longer, but it’s only rumors. Anyhow, a good one, but much similar to other orientals around Edit: a proper full wearing today at a wedding ceremony. I felt so elegant and the longevity was not a problem. 12 hours in and I still smell so leathery fantastic. I must learn to review fragrances after proper wearings :))

I have the pure parfum version. This stuff is POTENT. Monster performance. Projects like hell and lasts at least 18 hours on my skin. Absolutely worth the $$. EDP would be good to tone it down a bit (without having tested the EDP) As expected, I get a lot of oud and leather, with some tobacco and rose. This is a very complex fragrances that shifts and changes. This is not for everyone and isn't really a fragrance for the masses, but will be appreciated by lovers of oud and leather scents. I layer with Sultan Leather Attar (which feels more raw). But you don't need both if you have the Attar or the Pure Parfum, with my preference leaning towards the Pure Parfum, which is slightly more refined and much more potent.

Ive finally found the holy grail of oud fragrances! This is the real deal, a masterpiece. I was blown away with ensar oud no 1. Its a stunning leather oud with a soft beautiful rose 🥀 in the background. This fragrance has been made to perfection, a must have if like me you love your oud. Performance is better than i was expecting, i get a solid 8-10 hours performance and for a fragrance thats 100% natural, this is impressive. Sillage is heavy for the first hour, then it stays moderate. Very impressed with this one and so glad i blind bought a bottle.

Now here’s a fragrance you can journey into without walking the same path twice. This EDP is so well balanced, vibrant, and intoxicatingly beautiful that the wearer is at once fully satisfied and yearning for more. The roses are prominent yet smooth, the oud deep and complex. All the other notes including an exquisite, cloud-like leather are so perfectly integrated that one glides, rather than steps, through its various phases. Spoiler alert - in the tail is a wisping foretaste of heaven. A masterpiece from Ensar Oud.

Sure wish I could afford a bottle of this because this is without question the best smelling fragrance I have ever come across. That being said, even though it is pricey, I feel the price is justified, especially when comparing it to something like Roja Dove which uses inferior ingredients and charges just as much, if not more as what this costs.

Outstanding fragrance but be careful. I oversprayed this (more than 2 sprays) and my wife came close and said she couldn't breathe, it is that strong. Use sparingly for best results. I love it and to me it is worth the blind buy if you are a fan of strong, authentic ouds like Areej Le Dore or Bortnikoff.

EO PP is a fragrance that stands alone and isn’t fitting any category. The 3D Ambergris effect makes all notes new. Yes, a new rose, a new Oud, a new leather effect. It makes all notes dirty and clean at the same time. My complements to Ensar!!!

Eo1 is good but not all that good as what you can read on official website. definitely check through as many places as you can, before committing to EO. As far as the blend goes it does not have much of development, running flat from start to end. it is a smooth, no sharp edges oud, with leathery notes that most likely coming from sandalwood and tobacco combination. Oud reminds me of worn-in cashmere overcoat belonging to the officer on top of the horse from the old days. it has that comforting aura of something alive. to others it might feel like barnyard, but i rarely agree with such comments. this oud is not scary at all but it is oud. rose is present, but hard to really call it out. its comforting, woolly, soft, rosy leather with a unique viscose feel reminding of thick motor oil. Longevity on me is around 6 hrs, its never loud so can be worn in public and closed spaces - most people wouldnt notice. In conclusion, it is a unique oud i havent met before, but at the same time it wouldnt make your heart skip a beat. price is beyond stars for me, and i got only the original 7.5 sampler and recommend to start with that as well, or even smaller samples if you can get your hands on them. Could i have used these money for something else - easily and gladly.

If you're looking for world class ingredients, including real-deal 100% authentic oud, this has it. There is zero doubt as to the quality of the ingredients. If you're looking for a masterfully blended perfume, I think you need to keep looking. I just don't get any real "character" out of this. I get the wonderful ingredients, but the total simply equals the sum of the parts, as opposed to a classic perfume creation, where the total somehow exceeds the sum of its parts through masterful blending and creation. You won't go wrong with this, but I'm looking for more character in the fragrances I wear. If this price range isn't a problem and you're looking for the same quality ingredients but WITH masterful blending, check out the oud-based Bortnikoff offerings.

The first perfume offering from Ensar Oud which specializes in high quality Oud oils is a lovingly crafted modern Floriental with very high quality Cambodian Oud. The perfume opens with a blast of the Cambodian Oud and proceeds to a floral heart comprised of Taif Rose, ylang-ylang, jasmine and lavender. It finally dries into a mossy powdery base of sandalwood, tobacco and oakmoss. Well blended, with moderate to strong sillage and good longevity, this is a unisex composition that will delight lovers of modern Oriental perfumery. However, there are many similarities to similar high quality Oud based fragrances released recently. So you can probably pick one between this and say Sahraa Oud. A very nice first perfume offering from this line. Enjoy!

Great leather accord. Too much Taif for my taste. This one is all about the drydown when the oud really shines, but it's a long ride to get there. If you like Oud, leather, and rose (with a few extras) then you should give this one a shot. Sultan Leather attar works a bit better IMO.

I blind bought this perfume after the strong promotion by Ensar on his instagram. I was shocked that it is simply 'Sultan Leather Attar' !!! He should've explained that CLEARLY !! The second shock was: EO2 is the famous 'Borneo Zen' musk blend !!! What's next Ensar ?!

This review is for the 2018 pure parfum edition. It’s taken me almost a year to figure this fragrance out and was the start of my journey into artisanal/natural perfumery. I’d like to say that the performance on EO1 pure parfum is unreal. In fact it’s actually a little too strong which isn’t a bad thing but to an untrained nose it could take awhile to recalibrate to such a high intensity fragrance. If you know what the notes listed are then you’ll completely understand the price tag for such a high class piece of olfactory art. The opening is pure leather, Taif rose, indolic Jasmine and green tea that’s been dipped in pepper all wrapped up in a silky smooth blanket of ambergris and several of Ensar’s top class ouds. Some days I get the tobacco notes and other days I get more lavender but ultimately the powdery oceanic dry down filled with resinous incense and Cambodian oud melts into my soul. I can FEEL the ocean. I can FEEL the jungle and the soft fields of lavender. You get transported into another time and place if you close your eyes and let them roll into the back of your head with each narcotic whiff. This was the first time I ever felt that buzz of dopamine being released from experiencing such quality magic. Eo1 is both lucid and transcendent. Longevity: 12+ hours Silage: moderate Opening: 7/10 Heart: 10/10 Dry down: 10/10 TLDR: powerful leathery Oud and rose combo that dries down to a powdery amber/Oud combo.

Ensar Oud is the name, not unfamiliar to the world of perfumery, specially the Artisanal branch of it. Known for his high grade (and expensive) oud oils, EO No. 1 EDP was his first step towards a crowd who prefer their scents to be sprayed upon rather than rubbed. And Ensar, being purist, created this EO No. 1 is a symphony of dark and light. A dance of leather and oud to the last breath. Ensar himself defines this relation similar to that of a king and crown. The delicate precious roses, hazed by the smoke of tar and tobacco still manages to give life to the blend. The more you take it in, the more you delve in to the the maze that the "mad" genius has created. To my nose, this debut extraordinaire exhibits a very phenolic medicinal oud, a dry leafy tobacco, slight harsh tarry leather and rose that is undoubtedly from Taif. All in all, an excellent oud/rose fragrance with no ties to the traditional middle eastern lineage.

I have a small bottle of the pure parfum - my first Ensar Oud product. It took me a while to understand this fragrance, but now I treat it as a sacred object. It changes a bit every time I wear it. I think it just gets better and better. It will be interesting to see how this smells in a year or so after macerating longer. The quality here is unmatched. On a side note, I am not against synthetics, but when you smell works of art like this with true life and soul coming from the natural ingredients, you really can't go back to anything else. Longevity is good, EO1 wafts around me all day long and never gets tiring. Moderate projection for first hours, but I wear this for myself. I'm sure my 7ml will last a while, but if it runs out, I will buy a full bottle - somehow - unless Ensar brings out another parfum!

Whew! I am most definitely not ready for this one This is like jumping into the deep end with no life jacket. It's intriguing, that's all I can say right now. 20 minute update: Ok, this is really nice now. That funk that was throwing me off in the opening has decreased in intensity, it's still there, but now everything has beautifully reached equilibrium. I have to admit this is quite the experience. Down the rabbit hole I go...

This is a great smelling fragrance without doubt but with mediocre longevity (about 5 hours) and no sillage after the first hour it's a very high price to pay, wish it had more to it.
