Jungle Kinam: Pekanbaru

If you can read the name of this perfume, I assume that you're not here expecting a cozy-style vanilla based composition with a polite whisper of oud... because this is a time-machine potion that will take you to a 19th-century apothecary, in a remote trading post. Jungle Kinam: Pekanbaru opens with an unquestionably medicinal punch. The combination of sage and lavender hits high on the camphoraceous eucalyptol scale, giving off a cooling, antiseptic tincture vibe... think herbal salves, liniment, and dry medicinal herbs hanging from the ceiling of an antique dispensary. Once the initial camphorous fog clears, you'll meet what I assume is a complex triad of Malayan, Papua, and Sumatran ouds. This combo works as a dark, bitter-resinous, almost band-aid-like greenness, while a dry tea note and smoky vetiver deepen the herbal (healing?) potion profile. It’s dense, earthy, and distinctly un-pretty in the best way possible. Just when you think you need a prescription to continue, the base reveals its hidden smoky velvet. A dry molasses-like vanilla emerges late in the wear, smoothing down the sharp, medicinal edges into a rich, smoldering woody-resinous haze. In terms of performance: - Longevity: 8+ hours, easily survives a full workday and beyond. - Sillage: noticeable and within a consistent personal scent bubble. More test required on this, but I suspect that in hotter climates this will radiate more. - Wearabilty: more versatile than you'd think.
