Tibetan Musk

(Review for the Pure Parfum version) Incredible incredible incredible perfume. Tibetan Musk is unlike anything I have ever smelled before. It opens with a combination of warm spices, blackcurrant, Taif rose, and lavender. While all of this is going on, you are simultaneously blasted with a heavy dose of spicy musk that tingles your brain and gives the entire composition an indescribable feeling. As time goes on, many of the brighter elements (blackcurrant, lavender, rose) begin to fade away, and the perfume transitions into a base of incense, amber, and musk. At this stage, the musk has lost much of its sharpness, and what is left behind is a gorgeous, creamy blanket that completely envelops you. While I can describe this perfume and its notes for hours on end, no words can accurately capture the quality and complexity of the ingredients used, or how they interact with one another. I also could never explain how it changes with each wearing. I swear, I have worn this dozens of times, and it continues to amaze me with how different it can smell depending on the day. Some wearings will be heavy on the berries, others will be more focused on the woods and ambers in the base. Tibetan Musk is a unique experience in every spray, and I look forward to it always.

I've owned a bottle of Tibetan Musk PP for about 2 years now, wearing it on occasion and pondering what I was smelling, I couldn't quite figure it out. Tangy, camphoraceous, spices, wood, and something alive. I've finally figured it out; it's black currant that had me stumped. Recently I've purchased a small amount of blackcurrant bud absolute, I know what the fresh berries and plant smell like but the extract is spicier, more exotic. Now, Tibetan Musk isn't just black currant, there's more going on. There's some soft woods, some incense, a few discreet spices, a gentle soft almost vanillic musk holding everything together in the background.... But for me, from start to finish, the strange, exotic, dark, tangy, spicey blackcurrant bud is there, clinging onto all the other notes as they come and go over the surprisingly long drydown. Not a fragrance for casual wearing, to me this is something that needs to be worn deliberately, an artistic blend of rare ingredients to be savoured and enjoyed by collectors of niche perfumery.

This is a masterpiece. Musky clean lavender and citrus amber and I think this is what that glowing deer from the Harry Potter movies must have kind of smelled like. “You smell like a handsome rich guy who knows something we don't,” is what someone might say, I don’t know what other people might say, but this does smell luxurious and natural without being overt and loud. My first Ensar Oud full bottle, but more will follow.

1st hour a blast of lavender in your face with hint of sweetness & fresh spices, musk is always in the background but the lavender is the leader at this stage, later on some creaminess & vanilla rise up with the musk , thankfully lavender fades gradually Musk takes over with creaminess , vanilla , amber & woodiness but it’s not as much animalistic as you would expect at all yet it’s also bright & creamy & a bit sweet & it’s a faint musk scent not in your face It’s a gentleman’fougere fragrance shy yet present , it’s doesn’t speak loud yet it whispers , everything goes quietly in this perfume but it’s there “present” I love the smell of the silage rather than smelling it right if the skin This based on the EDP version

The musk is way too urinous for me unfortunately. The fruity-sweet, slightly herbal lavender-blackcurrant combo may have a classic touch but man that musk is evil

Tiben Musk opens with a bright, bold, in-your face, piercing citrus and spiciness that I have not yet experienced in any other Ensar compositions. It reminds me of the way fresh ginger tastes and feels in the mouth. There's a lavender in the opening, but more of a bright, fresh lavender, that further enhances the bright and powerful sparkling opening. It is not a creamy powdery lavender. The musk, while present immediately upon spraying, stays in the background for the first few minutes as the opening top notes duke it out for your attention. But Every minute that passes, the Tibetan musk creeps closer and closer to the foreground, until you are engorged in a bright, seductive animalic musk. Tibetan musk is really intriguing, it is animalic but not dense or heavy. It is a bright, effervescent animalic note that jumps off the skin. The projection is crazy with this one! When I read other reviews of Tibeten musk, many mention the black current note. I think I need to get my nose on pure black current accord, as I don’t think I know what it actually smells like to pick it out in a fragrance. In the heart and drydown of Tibeten Musk, the sparkling fizziness continues, but the original brightness of the opening has dissipated, and you are left with a gorgeous musk, that is unlike any other musk out there. This is a fragrance that transports you to a different mindset, and one which I will spray for me and for me only. (however the projection on this means everyone else will be smelling it too). I am really happy I picked this up when I had the chance

A lot of hype for Ensars other Musk scents( ie Tonkin) which are good but Tiberian musk is light years ahead of the others. It’s everything you want in a musk fragrance. Along with the incredible Santal Sultan, this is one of his best works. Buy it and thank me later.

Tibetan Musk Ensar Oud Perhaps, If I could suggest. What is an Artisan fragrance should smell like. "Ensar Oud" is a way to go. It perfected arrangement, state of stable and safe. You are there just witnessing the experience. This is it. An absolute Craft.
