James Bond 007 Seven

I like this, some ways I'd describe this are dark, seductive, complex , sophisticated and classy I can see James Bond wearing something like this. It's a more mature fragrance with a moderate amount of warm spices and some sweetness to it and comes off a bit powdery like you imagine you just fired a Walther PPK (pistol) he made famous in the earlier movies. I don't know it's reaching and I may get a laugh. It's not a bad kind of smoky like this Arabic cologne I got during the winter. Of anything I've tried it's like a sweeter less intense in terms of leather and citrus Armani Code (original) that has more complexity. However Armani Code is much stronger and will fill up a room and you can go light on code where as this is cheap enough to bathe in it. Bonus points for that atomizer as well, it's not as annoying as the Coach for men one I have I don't see this being as the internet says "beast mode" as it's quite moderate and not the longest lasting but it's like buying a cheap honda civic and expecting it to drive like an Aston Martin DB10 (used in the movie Specter) because you put racing stripes or a spoiler on it.

#596 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Every now and then I get a sample of something I pretty much know in advance will be a disappointment thanks to reviewers on Fragrantica, but, as we all have very individual tastes and senses of smell, I occasionally find I really like something that's below a 4.00 rating. For example I like a number of the lower tier Bvlgaris, Oliviers, Bogarts that others don't. Probably because of the scent era I grew up in. I still prefer the music of the 80's and 90's, and this is kind of that sort of scent from back in the day when they threw in the kitchen sink creating scents that weren't offensive but had no dominant character, like this. The Jacques Bogart "Silver Scent" line is an example. Silver Scent Midnight-9 notes, Silver Scent Deep-10 notes, Silver Scent Infinite-11 notes, Silver Scent-12 notes, Silver Scent Intense-14 notes. It becomes an indistinguishable muddle, as this 007 "Seven" scent does at 15 notes! You can sort out individual components to some extent, but why bother? Primarily this scent reminds me of Kenneth Cole "Reaction" and "Mankind" lines because of the strong fruit notes and because of it's complete lack of performance. Cuba Paris does a few of the same sort of fragrances. Cheap, weak, a bit fruity, no real character you can put your finger on, especially Cuba "Prestige", "Shadow", "Blue", "Milestone". All scents no one should ever waste their money on, like this scent, which I anticipated would be a waste when I ordered the sample. I know better. But I also ordered all the Star Trek Colognes a couple of years ago out of curiosity. "Tiberius" and "Sulu" were not awful. So who knows? I might order the Marvel Superhero frags next.

That is a ridiculously busy base (just peeking at the notes). I test sampled today and wondered if bubblegum had become an official note on the offalactory library. Its a pass from me, purely because the notes combine to create such an odd accord. Its very sweet, with hardly any depth, and no real transition from first application to dry-down. On the other hand, my wife loved it, so who knows! Some things I can tell you; longevity is about 2-3 hours, and projection is fairly weak. The flanker looks okay in the photo, but up close and personal its pretty nasty. Good job from the marketing team for getting it out in time for the films release - I mean, this really is one for collectors, if you know what I mean! If 007 was meant to wear this I'll eat my hat!

21/11/2017 Just tried this at sparkjop in Norway. I must say wow what a boring scent. Cheap apple citrus sour musk frag. Longevity 5/10 Projection 2/10 very bad. Smell 0/10 smells like a manly soap bar not a fragrance. Avoid by any means. This is no different than any 5usd scents out there but is highly diluted to mask cheap ingredients. I would rather buy 3 Cubas for a price of this nonsense.

I have received this as a gift. The opening is citrusy and fresh apple but it smells synthetic. It is a rather sweet scent. The scent itself is not a problem. The performance is really poor. It lasted 2 1/2 hours on my skin. It does not leave any trail.. it's very close to the skin.

As with all the Eon Productions 007 scents, longevity and projection are severely lacking. To be fair however the scent is decent, it's a leathery sweet fragrance but is a skin scent in no time at all. I have the boxset with shower gel, aftershave lotion, edt, deo stick, as well as the "intense" version(which also ironically is lacking in projection and longevity) and even with all of these used together it will not last. Currently it is overpriced for such a weak scent. I really wanted to give this a fair shake but at this price you can buy something like Bentley for Men which will scratch the same itch but is superior in every respect. If i saw a 50ml for around £10 maybe might be worth it, it's alright for a light skin scent in the fall/winter, it stays so close that it could be an office scent but there are better alternatives.

Tested this today and the first blast was just yuk it smells like rubber, but that doesnt always mean a fragrance will be bad, bvlgari black has that same rubber and turns out very nice, this one also turned out better, but to say its a great smell that would be a lie, a girl at the fragrance store said she felt a toilet smelling kind of vibe, i dont think that is what you really want to smell like, but to me it was an ok fragrance, i will propably buy it at a lower price if i get a chance.

It opens up with a sweet Apple, it's a little chemical, a little nasty, as it dries down I got what I can only describe as a sugary leathery smell. I didn't like the opening, but the drydown itself was pleasant. Trouble is after 2 hours it had sunk without trace. Too simple to be offensive, but the best of the 007 range remains Ocean Royale. Of all those many notes listed I can't really detect many of them, but it's a nice list.

Just sniffed this from a Kohl's ad insert & was pleasantly surprised. I'll have to go test this one out as a possible cheapie purchase. The correct notes, according to the 007 website is Top--Tangerine, Bergamot, Apple Mid--White Pepper, Cinnamon, Saffron Base-- Musk, Leather, Mahogany

Forget about the listed notes. This is your typical barbershop lavender drugstore smell,that so many cheap fragrances have. Not a bad smell but very boring and generic,like a standard "sport" deodorant. Performance is not good,at least the bottle is cool. For the price is not that bad.
