Pistachio Haiku

I love this stuff. Opens with one of those three-dimensional feeling biscuity scents which quickly dries down into a much more creamy and nutty vibe. It's quite an addicting smell - in addition to nuts and biscuits I also get a strong woodiness and a hint of freshly cut green grass. I read someone somewhere else describing this as smelling like essential oils and to be honest they're not totally wrong but I see this as a feature rather than a bug. This is a fragrance to wear when you want to relax - it's is not a statement-piece, head-turner, compliment-magnet. It's more like wearable aromatherapy. You could definitely still wear this out but it's probably not the sort of thing I'd wear to a nightclub or a restaurant - it's more of a coffee shop / relaxed café / board game afternoon sort of thing. If I was picking the season I'd say this is more of an autumn or spring scent but to be honest I wore it plenty during a fairly hot summer in the UK and it was totally fine.

This one is really cool. From first spray, the nuts are "photorealistic" (osmorealistic!). Hazelnut and pistachio are very strongly defined and very "green" with the vetiver and fig leaf (although it is not at all "figgy", just green). Cedar, benzoin, vetiver, and sesame combine to form a toasted and slightly bitter, almost "black ink" note that makes the "haiku" part of this perfume's title all the more appropriate. In any case there is nothing at all sweet about this perfume. The first few minutes are poetry. As wonderful as the opener is, sadly, the nuts last all of five minutes and then fade, leaving vetiver, benzoin, and something redolent of a soapy musk (may be some aspect of the fig leaf although still not very figgy) -- to carry the perfume for the final 2-3 hours before it fades. The overall effect is very clean, and as someone who likes soapy/powdery/just-got-out-of-the-shower scents, I'm not unhappy with it. But I bought this for the pistachio and those nuts don't hang around for long. I got a small 10ml vial so I'll keep this for the "sniff for fun" of it, but I don't think I'll buy a larger bottle to wear. Nutty, dry, biscuity sweet gourmand. Not to my personal taste but apparently a bestseller for the brand and very popular!

You know when you go to the dentist and they have mint flavored latex gloves with powder on the inside , this is what this perfume smells like . Or that medicated menthol powder or lotion my grandparents used , its super powdery and comes off minty and midicinal ,with this weird sweetness . So different from what i expected

Hands down one of my favorite pistachio interpration in perfume. The opening is nutty and has a nougat (Middle East dessert) or creamy, milky aspect but in a cool way (not steamed milk). On my skin there’s even a starchy aspect to it, not sure what it is exactly but I find this in a lot of Asian desserts...maybe taro? This makes me want to classify this as a gourmand. After it warmed on my skin, it started to smell slightly citrus but not in an astringent way. It’s a bit difficult to describe. The only relation I can make it to is a softer version of outrageous by Frederic Malle. It’s quite lovely, and clean. Maybe a few hours later, it becomes a truly sophisticated smell and a hint of vetiver shines through. I’m normally not a fan of vetiver but this is so well done and what I love about it most is the nutty gourmand pistachio in the background. Truly a unique gourmand -love it so much and has brought back my interest in perfumes again.
