Tonka Sesame

Very beautiful gourmand! Initial spray until the first two hours the tonka and nut notes are the most prominent, and eventually fade into a powdery vanilla while retaining some of the sesame. I found it similar to House of Matriarch vanilla caviar, but not syrupy and slightly sweeter without the floral undertone.

I don't get the previous comments on this one... It's the most realistic praline scent I've ever smelt. Straight up smells like the praline chocolate you get in the fancy boxes at Christmas. It's sweet, addictive and so yummy. You MUST try to mix it with the bergamot from the same collection... Beyond yummy!

Nutty warmth juxtaposed with an airy freshness - a delicious gourmand. Something in this is very reminiscent to deep n desire yacht by EBK, it must be the hazelnut note. Quite unique and lovely! Cosy feeling, perfect for Autumn days. Tonka Sesame is a 10/10 for me, I think I’ll need a bottle!

Nutty sweet fragrances are some of my favourite and I think in that category - for better or worse this perfume stands out from many others it shares notes with. This opens with toasted sesame, a realism is present that may be lacking some fantasy in the opening. This does soften during the wear and by the time this fragrance is at the base notes you have a gently warm somewhat fresh and clean scent that just slightly resembles it's namesake - moving it away from that very realistically sesame opening. An opening that many were taken aback by when I was spraying this at work but everyone loved the dry down! It is a great and versatile perfume - one I have a preference for layering as it does lack some kick but looking at this as a standalone it is a very unique skin scent. It's performance is not a projector but you do catch it throughout the day and how it sits is perfect for the profile. I recommend for anyone wanting to put their nose to a less typical, less sweet, and more mature gourmand!

If you like nutty fragrances and tonka bean is your favourite note, this could be a perfume for you. Tonka Sesame is an amazing blend of gourmand and woody notes, "fused in perfect harmony". It opens with a mouth-watering aroma of hazelnut ice cream. Shortly thereafter, the sweetness fades away and the scent mellows into the sesame note which still retains the nutty quality of the perfume. The tonka bean is amped-up by the notes of vanilla, almond and heliotrope, so we can experience in here the complexity and all aspects of that marvelous ingredient. Heliotrope and almond give it a dry, powdery touch, whilst woody notes ground the whole composition and balance the 'edible' aspect of it. Tonka Sesame is a unique, warm and toasty comfort-scent. This is an intimate fragrance with moderate projection. I really like it :)

Gourmand and delicious, Tonka Sesame smells nutty, biscuity (or cookie), with a marzipan sort of feel to it. The sesame is light and toasted and provides a mouth watering mattress to the creamy almonds and hazelnuts to get tucked in. This works so well because the edible like elements are offset with a patchouli pillow that makes Tonka Sesame feel like an inviting toasty bed on a winters day. A collaborative fragrance that can be mixed with others to make delectable outcomes. Can it be worn on its own? Yes. Is it better layered with other perfumes? Absolutely.

I was a sesame scent virgin before I sniffed this creation. It`s lovely gourmand, nutty and creamy and yummy without being too gourmand. I believe this would be a must have comfort blanket scent in winter. It`s warm and cozy and yummy and creamy - everything to keep you happy and enriched in winter:). Enjoy! Update on Jan 22, 2025: this turned much more musky on the skin. This smells much better on paper strip and clothes than on skin. I know musk is not even listed here and yet all is feel is musky.

Oo, my first nutty scent and I really like it! Smells like a black tahini cookie, with just a touch of sweetness. I'll try this one out again further into fall - I have a feeling it'll be perfect for a cozy day! Not sure if I'll buy anything larger than a tester. Smells yummy but I don't know if it's what I want to smell like! I layered with Cardamom Moss and it was DIVINE.

top notes: very nutty and synthetic sweet. it smelll more like hazzlenut then sesame. Warm scent overall. dry down: kinda plasticy synthetic sweet still. abit powdery too but no nuttiness anymore. a bit warm not for me, its pretty unique so i'd give this an 8/10 as on a wearability scale.

This is an odd scent. It smells like overly toasted sesame & hazelnut. It makes you warm from the inside. Personally, it made me feel sick.

i wish this was less sweet in the opening, the opening makes me feel like there's caramel in this. thankfully, the sweetness didn't last that long. the type of tonka u get from this, even though powdery, is not as baby powdery as feve delicieuse or shalimar tonka. it's a very nutty tonka which is complimented and balanced by the floral aspects of heliotrope that contribute to the fluff. would i have gotten sesame had i not known about it? no, but u gotta consider that the majority of this concoction is composed of nuts and it's a very nutty creation overall, so sesame probably adds to that heaviness. i really like the combination of the notes here, it's a heavy scent yet it's fluffy and i would've guessed that someone had thrown a milk note somewhere in there. after a while, i'm faced with a very pleasant "plastic" scent that i usually get from almond scents. this is lovely. i must say that the style of tonka done here reminds me of elie saab's essence n°10 amande tonka, however, this one is less syrupy sweet and more cloud-like. p.s. anyone saying it smells like womanity is trippin balls.

As stated in previous reviews, do not be fooled, this is a layering fragrance, NOT a standalone one (very fleeting scent, max 2.5hrs longevity)! It does work well when paired with Diptique's L' Eau Papier, as both have musky qualities and combining them amplifies the (trending) sesame note that I much enjoy. Despite being a gourmand supporter, I must admit that overall it is E.P.C's earthy offerings that stand out (Cardamom Moss & Cigarettes After Sex), not their mellow ones (Tonka Imperialle). If you enjoy this profile of notes, I would direct you to the much more value for money 'Happy Nuts' from BornToStandOut. Ps: E.P.C's Soho boutique staff told me this has absolutely no patchouli, which is not true (please retrain your staff, or better display your perfume notes in store).

I do not own this one but I tested it out in store and couldn't stop thinking about it. Some of it got on my hands while spraying testers and I did still smell it later that night going to bed and it is just a very unique scent. Very very nutty but sweet. I can see how it may be sickly or cloying for some people as that was one of the reasons I didnt pick it up. However, it could potentially be layered well with a more woody or musky vanilla to add more balance. Overall I really am interested in this one and it is unlike anything I have smelled since.

Very nutty. If you love tonka bean, and you know who you are, you will like this. Vanilla, and every kind of nut you can think of: almond, walnut, pecan, hazel nut (no pistachio, though). Milk and cream. Amber, powder, a little wood. Absolutely no citrus or floral really. So it is unique and very dry. You should sample it first, unless you know that nutty is your ride or die vibe. Only moderate sillage and lasting power, about 2 hours with 5 sprays before the vanilla dry down takes over for another 4 hours.

Not worth your money. Literally lasts a few minutes before dissolving into a skin scent with a weird watery, metallic quality. This is a bit too oppressively thick and heavy for my liking. Do not get the Pistachio Haiku because it's just a variant of this with citrus, and you will likely be disappointed that it doesn't smell like pistachios at all.

a must have to tonka lovers.... You have to buy it...Tahini sos and later nuts and tonka ...gorgeous...tonka Extra ordinaire is also awsome but to a fall season and more universal is this position... total unisex

This felt like a stripped down, more intense version of Ambre Narguile. I love AN and wish it had a little more of this “oomph” factor. Rich without being syrupy. Gourmand without being too sweet. 9/10

A real treat for the nutty - aroma lovers! I knew I’d love this once I read the name : Tonka and Sesame is just a match made in heaven. Very enveloping and mesmerising gourmand
