Bodhi & Utah

I'm going to make this short and sweet so I don't forget the things I'm thinking about. I like that it is a unique house. You certainly stand out from other people and I like that. It's artistic to which I relate to. It certainly leans masculine. I'm not really sure what that means anymore, but your initial reaction is most likely that it smells like a traditional masculine fougere style of fragrance. That can be very attractive on the right person. Like the woman below me mentioned, it's very sexy on her boyfriend. Whoever the perfumer is behind this fragrance, they did a very good job. It is not overly done. It's not too strong or not strong enough. You can consider it the Goldilocks of its style. And it has good longevity! It checks all of the boxes. And don't forget this is a newer brand. So I can say without hesitation I am impressed. The creative director of this house seems to know what he or she is doing. I'm looking forward to what they are going to release in 2025. I'm going to end it here because there is not much else to say. The style of fragrance executed here is very traditional. They have respected the tradition and simply created a fougere of the deftest of hand.

For me this fragrance is a bit cliche.From what I’ve tried, It reminds me a bit of fragrances like Manceras- Hindu Kush or jovoys- aqua memorbalis. It’s that very masculine slightly green/syrupy -middle eastern leaning style that you find in a lot of designers like Dior, Chanel etc. Some sage,cardamom and iris up top with vetiver, tea and tonka in the base. Chances are you smelt something similar walking around malls or busy shopping plazas. I think what differentiates this from the typical designer at least is that it leans a bit more into its aromatic characteristics. I’ve heard some describe this as a fougere but I don’t get that at all. This may be the least interesting I’ve tried from the line but it’s nice and well done. Good if you’re looking for mass appeal from the line.

I think this is a fine perfume, I tend to lean much more feminine than this, but for what it's worth it smells like an extremely elevated, slightly dark floral, version of Gillete Pro or whatever aersol can of shaving cream my father uses. Not for me, but I wouldn't hate it on others; really has a clean water vibe to it, but it doesn't feel overdone or teenagery. P.s. I use noble otter ambrosia for my shaving soap, very opposite spectrum from this scent, perhaps why it clashes a bit for me.

Trapped in the 1980s 💈🚬 As a noteninja, I appreciate precision, but Bodhi & Utah tries way too hard to be hyper-masculine and completely misses the target. The composition tries to force "150% masculinity" down your throat, resulting in a dated, 80s/90s shaving cream accord. It balances on a weird line of being overly sharp yet strangely cloying and dull. It’s the ultimate cologne for an elderly playboy. Stamina: Projection is mediocre, but unfortunately, it possesses a stubborn close-to-skin longevity that just won't quit. Not my style at all. Pass.
