Velvet Lavender

This is such a pretty and true lavender. It's feminine enough for women. It doesn't have that harsh lavender male vibe that is in many male fragrances. But it still remains a very vibrant lavender perfume. I can see the lavender fields in my minds eye wearing this rustic and charming perfume. It is herbal, dusty, powdery with touches of vanilla and apricot that keeps it soft, rounded, and velvety. The sage in here is just right, it doesn't take over the composition at all or make it masculine, just dusty and herbal, not harsh. It's slightly sweet, like a apricot and lavender jam. That would be interesting to taste. I love herbal perfumes with this feminine, dusty and powdery quality and it is just the right fit with the very aromatic lavender being the star. Appropriately named as well, Velvet lavender. Relaxing, feminine, casual elegance. If you are a lavender lover check this out. It is a fabulous find for lavender lovers out there. For those who aren't smelling the lavender I'm sorry but this a gorgeous feminine lavender. I am sorry you are missing it. Velvet Lavender is much prettier and less woody than YSL Libre original and less sweet than Mon Guerlain. Also the touch of apricot makes Velvet Lavender much more interesting. It is truly like velvet.

This is such a nice lavender perfume. Many lavender scents are so harsh (which does a disservice to the flower) but this is more like sticking your face in a real English Lavender plant. Soft, gentle, relaxing. This is a very inviting smell. Its feminine but I can see a man pulling this off in a laid back setting, such as, on a beach. This makes me want to try many more Eric Buterbaugh perfumes. I can tell he has a great appreciation for the flowers he is trying to represent.

It's very much lavender to me, but nicer than most lavender perfumes I've smelled, because it is softer, more powdery than most. I like that. I love the unusual smell of it, with the fruit and herbs, and musk. I think it's beautiful, and it is gentle and caressing - I feel as if I have a soft lavender shawl on, and the soft aromatic fragrance wafts all around me for hours. I find it very relaxing and also uplifting. It's really lovely.

Velvet Lavender. The name suggests a smooth rather than harsh, herby version of lavender yet I was still convinced this scent and I were not going to get along. I was very, very wrong. This is a beautiful floral perfume that does indeed rely on lavender on the surface but calms the herbal tang with musk and sandalwood (which I primarily smell). It is a woodsy smell punctuated by a delightful almost unisex floral... ...and I'm in LOVE!

From the one time I tried this at Saks I couldn't forget it both for the amazing lavender spa sensation and for the very hefty price tag. By lavender spa I mean very transformative and uplifting, some of the herbal aromatic notes lift the lavender to precious unexperienced heights for me. If I hadn't been broke with the Christmas shopping I would have bought it on the spot. Definitely one of my grail lavenders.

The lavender note is there, but not dominant. And it's a softer floral lavender, as opposed to a sharp herbaceous lavender. The fragrance is sweet-ish, a little bit fresh, floral, with a hint of powder from the musk. I like it a lot. But I'm a huge fan of lavender and the lavender note in this fragrance is like a sachet in the background. Just enough to know it's there.

This scent is a bit more musk than lavender but a lovely and balanced blend. It reads as clean and relaxing. Not a wimpy clean but confident. I'm not registering the vanilla on myself which is a good thing. I can sense that that element could come out more predominately on some people. Enjoying it and now very curious about other scents in this line.

This is a dense powdery cloud of Vanilla, Lavender, and Musk. I wonder if I'm really smelling Lavender or if it's the power of suggestion, because it smells like Heliotrope & Cocoa too. Other notes do make an appearance, I get the apricot about 15 minutes after spraying and as Velvet Lavender dries down I'm getting more sandalwood. I don't sense the Artemesia or Clary Sage. This would be an ideal winter sweater fragrance. It's so cozy. The thickness and sweetness (about 85% as sweet) remind me of Comptoir Sud Fragrances, vanille abricot in particular. This is a softer version of that. My skin does tend to amp up sweet notes though. I like it! Iif it was less sweet it would be a love. oh yes, IMO not unisex, feminine only.

This one didn’t win me over immediately; I am very selective about lavender scents, and while this one isn’t astringent or sharp, it starts off very....dusty, probably because of the clary sage and the lavender notes. I’m glad that I waited for it to develop, because the dustiness receded behind a lavender softened by a gorgeous apricot-vanilla-muskiness. This sounds admittedly weird, but it is really quite lovely, and I enjoyed the later drydown immensely.

On first spray, I didn't think I would like this one. It opens up with an intense, sweet lavender-vanilla combination. It reminded me of Mon Guerlain or YSL's Libre, but less obviously feminine than those. After the initial sweetness calms down, the bergamot and apricot start to come through, and I started to enjoy the fragrance more. As it warms up on skin, it becomes a super plush, warm, lavender with elements of woods, herbs (sage), vanilla, and musk. I also think there's a nice synergy between the apricot and sandalwood notes. It's so comforting! It wears like your favorite super soft sweater. I wore it last night and woke up this morning craving to wear it again.

I happen to love lavender, and I've never smelled a fragrance nosed by Harry Fremont that I didn't like. But Velvet Lavender doesn't do anything for me. I detect no lavender. To me, it starts out smelling like Play-Doh, and after drying down 20-30 minutes it's just a generic floral-vanilla (kinda like Taylor Swift Incredible Things, but not as sweet and without the leather note).

Clean, musky dryer sheet type lavender. Decent projection the first hour or so, skin scent after that. Almost more of a linen scent than a perfume to me.
