I believe this to be the best lactonic scent on the market to date. This is comfort in a bottle. Most of the lactonic scents out there either go sour on my skin or are very cloying and/or way too sticky sweet, but not this one. This is beautifully soft, with a slight sweetness from the vanilla. I get the rose, but it is very faint. The orris combined with the milk makes this buttery soft and beautifully rounded. If you’re looking for a soft, comforting milk scent this just might be what you’ve been looking for! I’m thrilled to have added it to my collection💕

I have to agree that it is soft and feminine and nostalgic somehow. Well blended, ethereal and comforting. I don't feel the gourmand nuance in this fragrance, perhaps just enough to keep it balanced. I keep sniffing my wrist. It does feel more like a skin scent with soft projection and longevity. ♡ Beautiful samples available at Nectar Atelier.

the opening is sweet and fruity like strawberry milkshake but to my surprise I see no red fruits listed in the notes. It is a cosy milky scent with a hint of sweet rose that I can actually get on board with, (I'm very picky with rose perfumes.) Very soft, feminine and beautiful. Will sample further to see if it changes from a like to a love.

This is a subtly complex milk scent that lasts all day. The rose takes a back seat and makes occasional appearances, but the milk and cinnamon is most prominent on my skin. I still detect a flower but the gourmand aspect of this is the main focus. Amazing. Powdery and sweet but not cloying. Reminds me of Fresh Cream by Philosophy.

Very powerful and interesting. I don’t get a lot of rose but more deep tuberose note. I have tried and knew it. This is the scent (with a softer floral note - the rose over the tuberose) I got when I layered Sandal Ruby with Blanche Bête. A little less sweet than BB. But the effect is close. It’s cosy, but for me, super intense. Not quiet or unassuming. Less creamy and lactonic than BB and has that airy mid with the powdered edges. One for the cold I think and worn lightly when in crowds or small rooms. If you have both fragrances try that layering combo and see what you think. Update- the deep dry down is soft, comforting and very softly rosey. When the dry down becomes skin scent I honestly pickup a delicious roasted black plum note - complete with toffeed aspects just like you’d get from the caramelised fructose and skin.

In winter it might be too subtle, in summer it might be cloying and suffocating due to powdery dustiness (strong orris root like geranium on steroids). Lactonic combination with salty popcorn and soft toffee candy entreé, then the powdery scratchy oris root gains its strength and grabs you under your throat. Thankfully I dont get the rose much so it doesnt remind me of old lady perfume, but it lingers in backstage somewhere. Too fresh for suede, several similar winks got from Cacao Porcelaina by Atelier Materi. 245 Euro for 50ml is too bold, it is unique but test first and think twice, I got sunscreen milk in drugstore aisle mixed up with cold ashtray in drydown.

I really thought this would be the lactonic milky rose of my dreams (been searching for a perfume version of the Voluspa Milk Rose scent, if anyone knows of one please message me!). This isn’t what I was hoping it would be, but is exactly what I SHOULD have expected it to be. There’s a warmth to this scent, you really get the feeling you’re smelling a baby that has just finished feeding. I get baby milk breath, freshly clean skin that’s extra warm from a recent bath and the mom’s nondescript perfume wafting in the background. It smells comforting but also slightly disturbing to me for some reason. It’s not a dupe per se, but has some similarities to Juliette Has A Gun “ode to dullness” except JHAG doesn’t have that super warm skin vibe.

This is probably the third fragrance I’ve tried from this brand that I just can’t get behind. They have skill for capturing unique scents but I usually find their fragrances to be niche in appeal. This is one of those. Rather than breast milk, smells like milk stored under someone’s breast. There’s something to animalic and musty in the scent profile even if the nicer accords can be picked out.

On the test strip, it smelled like the top of a newborn baby’s head, powdery, soft, sweet, and comforting. But once it hit my skin, it turned sour. Even if it hadn’t gone sour, I don’t think I’d actually want to wear it on myself.

Sharon Doubiago wrote, "My mother is a poem I'll never be able to write, though everything I write is a poem to my mother." Elaine gave me this: the love of beautiful things and gorgeous scents, the obsessive appreciation for art and baubles, and because we never spent time together obsessing over these things, I often feel like every perfume review I write is another poem for her. Mother's Milk is the kind of fragrance I would have brought to her. Challenging and charming, like she was. Milk bread soaked in rosewater, shokupan-soft and faintly floral. Something salty and slightly sour underneath, skin and dust on a windowsill in afternoon light. The rose absorbed into the milk, bready and close, and a vanilla that's less sweet than earthy and buttery, sebaceous almost, warm and not exactly feral, but rather a soft purr. A muffled softness with an unresolved, swift bright electric thing reaching through it, grasping something, anything, everything, and never having it. Elaine is in that elusive thing. Elaine was a depressive, manic, recovering alcoholic, twenty years sober when she died, an animal hoarder, a woman who somehow held down a job and paid rent (I will forever scratch my head at this, because she just never seemed like an "adult" to me), and charmed everyone she met while remaining a complete mystery to me. People were drawn to her. I was traumatized by her craziness and chaos. But I loved her and all the mystery of her, and I am haunted by the question of why she was the way she was, which I will never get to ask her now. This perfume smells nothing like her, but she's everywhere in it.

Faint roses drenched in slightly sour milk sprinkled with some dusty cacao, suede, sweet powder and some musk. Very thick and creamy smelling. Not a love at first sniff but I liked it and think it’s artfully done. Not sure I need a fb of it but I’m going to keep playing with my sample. I’m not a mother nor have I ever been around anyone with a baby for extended periods of time so I wouldn't know what baby formula or breast milk smells like lol but I’ve heard a few people say it smells like that so perhaps if you have that association you will smell that in here. I will say it’s a little challenging for sure but totally wearable imo and there is something comforting about it that draws intrigue for me despite the challenging parts but idk if it’s something I would wear in public, maybe just at home. It’s light wearing on me, close to the skin but long lasting. Not fbw at the moment but like I said I need to wear this more to decide that but for now I think it’s a nice work of art.

I was exited to try it- bottle is so slick, notes- all my favorites. First smell - beautiful i so soft, with slight edge. I was about-about-about to purchase right away. Price $250 told me- spray it and wear for a day. I did it. First hour- beautiful, why I did not buy it right away After 1 hour- emmm, it bothers my... I feel spoiled soury something (sorry, I breastfed my both kids for crazy long time, never smelled something like that... never...). Perfume started to smell heavy, not pleasant. Bottomline- no, not for me. Side note; surpris, surprise- this perfume is not unique. It's same profile as Pink Milk Lorenzo Pazzaglia, Delina... no delina is masterpiece, unique and prima. So don't blind buy it AND wear it even if first impression is heavenly good

This is the ultimate skin scent in my opinion, in the sense that it smells like skin. This fragrance is sweet and comforting, like a hug from a mother figure or the weight of a baby on your chest. It doesn't read particularly musky/powdery to me which increases that youthfulness. It's definitely floral, but the milk note mellows out all of the cloying properties florals tend to have, and leaves it in a sort of floaty, middle place between floral and gourmand that feels distinctly human.

Mixed feelings about this one. Not loving that blast of leather and resin in the beginning but it settles down. I disagree with the votes here, I can't see myself wearing this in the spring or during daytime. For me, I smell a date night scent. Its too woody and resinous. The rose and sandalwood here remind me of Idole Power, but if Idole had a baby with Guidance. Maybe its my skin, but I smell ZERO powder or lactonic notes. I smell rose, orris, suede/leather, and sandalwood.

Buttery full fat milk steeped with rose petals. Slightly sour lactonic but primarily rose on my skin with some powder. Feels warm and wearable, ideally for spring or winter imo. Edit: shocked at the longevity of the milk note here, I got about 4 hours of prominent milk. I feel like milk notes never really last long or evolve into just creamy/sweet after a couple hours in other frags! Lovely cocoa sandalwood on the dry down as well

A perfume of textures. Powdery, gently floral, fuzzy from the musk, and silky from the lactones. It has a subtle sweetness. If you told me there is a peach milk accord in here, I’d believe you. Really well done, this is evoking some scent memory that I cannot place. I’m not getting any “darkness” or “bad” as the ad copy suggests. It’s captivating, but not challenging. I want to revisit this one again.

This is so pretty and addictive on the skin. A milky rose, with a little bit of sweetness and a touch of spice. Perfection. Sadly it’s eye wateringly expensive 22/4/2026 - haven’t stopped thinking about this since testing 2 months ago. Just cant bring myself to pay $450 AUD for 50ml. Argghh so good, i want it 🙁

I smelled this fragrance yesterday at Scent Room in Los Angeles. To my surprise, this fragrance smelled just like baby formula but in a good way, if that makes sense. Extremely lactonic. The most lactonic fragrance I’ve smelled in my life.

This is absolutely beautiful to me...it was a blind buy and I am ecstatic to wear it ❤️. FYI - this smells nothing like Blanche Bete or most of those scents in the reminds me of section as usual, lol.

  • em inglês

Man the orris ruins everything about this for me :( maybe it will grow on me but that and the suede pretty much overpowers everything else after 10 minutes.

  • em inglês

So good! I wore it today and two different women asked what I’m wearing! Literally mother’s milk! Like a soft laconic baby powdery vibe! I’m obsessed 😍
