Acqua di Bergamotto

Yes, it's a budget and sibling version of Italian Bergamot without any compromised in quality . What a generous charity the Estee Lauder Corp. made! They put niche quality ingredients in a mainstream priced colgone. INCREDIBLE! Almost all of the notes are quite similar to Italian Bergamot . The major differences are, AdB's citrus is not as bold as IB and lacks some strength somehow, but its neroli is more translucent and smooth than the latter one. By that I don't mean that IB's neroli is bad or something. It's just the neroli in IB is too hardcore to me. I don't know why the rating is not high enough as the IB's, but I highly recommend you guys, who love citrus and neroli or dont want to spend more money on the IB, do NOT skip this one. Longevity: 5 hours or so on my skin. Projection: about an arm length in the first hour, then turns into a skin scent. Rating: 8.0/10. ----- It's a pity that the cap is NOT magnetic as Essenzes.

Acqua di Bergamoto by Zegna is a citrus, herbal and aromatic fragrance. Its opening is delicious, very citrusy and fresh, with some zesty and herbal accord. Its development has no significant changes, it smells almost the same from beginning to end, just in some moment it appears the vetiver. Is an artisan cologne style fragrance, simple but pleasure and very fresh. Is an excellent choice for hot days in spring and summer. I had tried it with some testers and it had lasted very little, but this time I used a vial and it lasted more than 6 hours. and at least the first 2 hrs. the people around me have noticed it. Other advantage of this fragrance is that is not expensive

Great, quality fragrance. The smell is absolutely natural and classy. Perfect for the office, casual outings, family gatherings, and when you just want to project cleanliness and class. Whatever E.O. they selected for their Bergamot is top quality. The left to be desired part though is it doesn't last. I do have to carry a small decant vial in my jeans coin pocket to re-apply but it's worth it for this one. Price-point is quite amazing for this one too. Presentation is a simple classy bottle, great cap system, great atomizer, and can be had for ~$25/50mL. If you like toned down, classy, italian inspired fragrance, it's a no brainer and blind buy with confidence.

This juice developed into something gorgeous to me. And I can say it because my first impression (of a blind buy) was that it smelled like a cheap motel soap. Later on that day, I started feeling some gorgeous water-citrus bursts that were lovely. Then, it completely disappeared from my skin. I wore it today again to work and sprayed six times and could smell it quite decently in the 100F heat. Again, it quickly faded into beautiful rare citrus that is almost unnoticeable. It seems provocative that such a sophisticated and beautiful scent has this longevity issue. It is highly addictive, interesting, complex, and fresh. I love it.

I don't get why people seem to compare so many citrus fragrances to neroli portofino. This really doesn't share many similarities to that but it is quite a decent fresh and more refined/mature take on the citrus genre. It smells a lot like acqua essenziale colonia by Salvatore ferragamo except much less herbal and much more bergamot. The longevity is the only real issue. Ferragamo lasts longer and is about half the cost but hey if you have the money and you want more bergamot and less herbs in your juice then zegna is still a quality fragrance.

This is very nice fresh and masculine, good for office wear but I think is very versatile, but I'm pretty sure the best performance is in the very hot summer days. Is kind of cool right now here in Chicago, so the fragrance stays very close to the skin, but is nice, I also got the shower gel, and is a nice fragrant and steamy experience to start with. It comes in a nice designed packing box and bottle, classy and high quality.

V2ery fresh, citrusy and herbal. I use this scent as a sort of aromatherapy for myself. It's very soothing. Spray it on your clothes (or sheets before bedtime) as well as skin and it will last longer. Wearing this outside sometimes I get a whiff of it and I turn around thinking who's smelling so good? That's the drydown and it's very powdery soft and barely noticeable but it's there! An air of mystery.

Bright, sparkling, light citrus opening followed by the traditional eau de cologne soapy orange flower water (not quite neroli), with salty breeze notes reminiscent of Bleu de Chanel or Davidoff Cool Water. Brilliant minimalist composition of new and old styles. Smells like freshly washed and dried linens on a sunny day in the mediterranean. Longevity suffers as with all fresh eau de colognes.

One of the most beautiful refined fresh scents I have ever come across. Pure sophistication and class. I have to let you know fragrance.net have this right now on May 24 2020 not many left stock up or you may never see it again. I don't work for either company just wish to help my fellow fragheads as I do often :)

Maybe the best citrus-aromatic I've ever smelled. Bright, natural, elegant hot-weather rockstar. Better than its more expensive niche counterpart Italian Bergamot. Just wish the performance was better. You could literally wear 10 sprays in hundred degree weather and nobody around you would bat an eye.

I absolutely love this fragrance, it's possibly my favourite yet and may even surpass Eau Sauvage for me. It's such a compelling Mediterranean scent and seems to be exactly what I've been looking for as a balance between an overtly citrus blast and something warmer and more complex.

i think i've finally found the Holy Grail of citrussy perfume. high quality citrus blast + beautiful drydown florals that aren't feminine. put your acqua di gio away chaps, this is the morning scent that all guys need!

Nice fresh inoffensive bergamot scent. Longevity and projection are soso but wasn't expecting much more considering it's a citrus fragrance. My current go-to for the office.

@Mas777 yes i don't see it's too masculine, although i see this is more for men. This is the one for hot humid summer... it lasts like crazy..

It's another great stuff from Ermenegildo Zegna...well done! it is my go to fragrance for hot humid days now.

I’m in total agreement with @PoeticRenegade below; this is an incredibly frustrating fragrance to own. I’ve not had it long enough to wear in the warmer months, so I’m hoping that once they swing around, the performance will up its game a bit more but as things stand and even going heavy on the sprays, it’s not projecting or lasting at all. This is a terrible shame because this is a really beautiful modern citrus that deserves to be shared. The bergamot and citrus notes open up really brightly, although initially gives off a slightly sherbet-y/synthetic vibe to my nose but this dissipates very quickly and leaves the true citruses to shine through. The white florals behind them start to show themselves soon after and I get a lovely clean jasmine coming through with just a subdued hit of a soft pink/white pepper, although they’re not listed on the notes. On the dry down, I also get a very interesting sweet & soft powdery note. The marine accords really give this a more modern feel citrus but it still gives a nod to the classic citruses of the past; AdP Colonia, YSL Pour Homme, Monsieur de Givenchy & Armani EpH. Honestly, I don’t think it’ll excite the younger crowd too much as it’s not a ‘panty-dropper’ or crowd pleaser, quite simply because of its sillage & projection, or lack there of but it’s incredibly classy, well constructed and certainly won’t offend anyone. It’ll get many compliments from those at close quarters and is a perfect summer casual/office scent. I think I’d be incredibly annoyed if I’d bought it at full retail price, simply based on its performance but if you can get it at a discounted price and love classic citrus fragrances, then it’s a very pleasurable experience. It’s just such a shame that the performance is so very poor in every aspect because it is really quite a beautiful creation. EDIT: Nope...... I’d forget it if I were you. Whilst it honestly is a lovely modern citrus, the longevity in warmer weather is just as poor as it is in the cooler weather. Great for 30 minutes, then........ gone completely! There a plenty of these types of citrus aromatic frags around, so don’t waste your money and look elsewhere. A great shame because it really is nice.

This is bright, inoffensive citrus that is perfect for a summer day - if it doesn't evaporate completely by the time you step outside. One of the shortest-lasting frags I've ever worn, becoming a skin scent almost instantly. I know that citruses aren't known for their longevity, but compared with two other similar pick-ups (Ermenegildo Zegna Mediterranean Neroli & Ferrari Bright Neroli - the latter of which is almost an exact clone of the one I'm reviewing here), this is the least-lasting. It's not as high quality as the Mediterranean Neroli, this is clear, but also doesn't suffer from the Petitgrain EZMN is mixed with (petitgrain smells like mothballs to me), but also lacks the musk and mint. If you're considering this one, take a look at Ferrari's offering instead. I think it costs less and is basically the same thing; a little more synthetic on the opening (which settles quickly), lasts longer, and is a bit more floral which I like, personally.

WARNING: This fragrance is for personal enjoyment only. Fragrance is a mixture of citrus such as Bergamot and Neroli, a bit like barbershop cologne. Personal note: I’m a fan of the citrus scents and enjoying it in all seasons. This is a fragrance of citrus made from the finest citrus fruits and packed in a very luxurious bottle and a very attractive package. Unfortunately, doesn’t last for a few minutes and then you can’t remember it. I can say that it is parallel to the expensive specialty Niche Perfumes. The only negative point here: the fragrance extremely weak, just lasts only for a few minutes, In addition to the rather high price compared to other designer fragrances is considered a losing deal for most of people.

This fragrance is quite good, it makes you feel elegant and classy but not old, my mom told me that this reminds her childhood sorrounded by orange trees and the smell of orange blossoms, but not with a sweet smell, more like bittersweet smell of the orange leaves, crisp and sharp, a must try scent with very natural composition nicely blended. The sillage is close to medium and the longevity is about only 4 hours with one spray at each back of the earlobe (best place IMO). If you look for a nice natural citrus blend check this fine piece of Zegna, a sure buy for me, but be sure to put a nice green color shirt to complete the style ;) 8/10

Sophisticated freshness... That's the name I would give it if it was me naming this product! It's much easier for me than Acqua di bergamotto as I am not italian. (Although I secretly wish I am). Anyway... Perfect summer scent for men! Fresh and classic, it's basically bergamot in a bottle. I can't smell the aquatic note at all, but I think it's the one responsible for that deep feeling for this fragrance and for it's very good longevity as bergamot or other citrus tend to fade away almost instantly after application. I like it. It's a nice summer fragrance for office boys and that feel good vibe it generates. 7.5/10

You know, I like this stuff, but definitely don't love it. Why? Smells mild, was needlessly expensive, and I dunno, reminds of a cheap bar soap, like Ivory or Irish Spring? People MIGHT even think you're wearing dishwashing dtergent, or are a professional dishpig. Kinda feminine too. Probably not even good for office wear, as something ISO'ey is floatin'. :(

Citrus opening with a hint of vetiver and neroli. Smells initially of fresh lemony soap. High quality stuff, I love it. For lovers of Neroli Portofino, this is where you should look. I'd say a little less fresh than the NP Acqua, but it is up the same alley and Zegna isn't compromising on quality.

There's definitely quality ingredients at play here, there's no doubt. It has that signature Bergamont punch to it up front. A beautiful fresh fragrance, great for spring/summer. That being said, this stuff just has zero longevity. It's quite faded 2 hrs in. I do love the smell though.

This is an excellent perfume. The opening notes are bergamot and citrus. It screams summer and holidays at sea. I think the quality is undeniable. It dries down to an outstanding, if quiet fragrance close to the skin. Longevity is good lasting well over 5 hours.

The opening and the scent itself are amazing. Beautiful citrus. Doesn't last very long.. but I picked up 2 50ml bottles on fragrancenet for around $25 a piece. At that price.. yeah.. give it to me daddy.

Very nice. The quality is there. Starts with a beautiful sparkling bergamot, that will be supported a shortly after by a noticeable neroli (as well as a hint of elemi resin), which will give some body to the fragrance and a unisex feeling at that stage. The drydown falls more into the generic territory with the typical blu fragrance combo (a sharp ambroxan and calone), balancing this fragrance towards masculine. Projection is soft on my skin, but by double layering, longevity reaches around 4-5 hours, as expected for a summer citrus fragrance (an honest EDC label would have served this one better than the actual EDT label). The base is a bit disappointing compared to the opening and I would rank this one a step below Acqua di Iris in terms of blend. It's overall nice and the pricing is reasonable, but afterall, quite forgettable. Summer days, 20+

Imagine taking a large glass bottle with a plain white label that says 'LADIES PERFUME' then taking another that says 'FANCY LEMON FLOOR CLEANER'. Then take the contents of both bottles and mix them up. Yes. That's this. At first you get bergamot, which soon becomes a powdery floral lemony smell. The only other scent I could make out was something akin to BO (and it wasn't me, honest). Very linear. Longevity about 3 hours, sillage soft. The only reason I've classed this as a like is because of the links to cleaning products. I'm a little weird in liking the smell of certain detergents; laundry powder, toilet blocks etc. Aldi supermarket make a general floor cleaner type product that's available in 'Floral'. It's a pink one. By jingo that stuff smells amazing. Anyway, I digress. Acqua di Bergamotto, it's not the best.

I had high expectations of Acqua di Bergamotto - wanting to have an alternative to the spectacular Dior's Eau Sauvage. Alas, not to be. Despite the refreshing bergamot scent, it pretty much stays so close to the skin - and gone within hours. Avoid, if you're considering to purchase the scent. I'll stick to my Dior's Eau Sauvage.

Sensational opening, a luscious bergamot blast. Then the worst performance ever, I got fed up respraying. It's trading at 50p/ml, feels rich despite the opening, be warned, this is gone in minutes. 2/5

I think most complaints about longevity on this site are unfounded/overblown, but man are they spot-on about this one. This could be a great scent, but it's barely detectable on my skin after about an hour and a half. No amount of moisturizer can fix that. Scooped up a FB at a deep discount from retail but still feel a little gyped. I more or less agree with the other descriptions, and to me, this is a nice, lighter more citrus take on the colonia style whigh fades into a pleasant neroli backstop. If you're looking for a similar approach to the colonia style at a very attractive price, stick to Ferragamo Acqua Essenziale Colonia, not that they're altogether similar, but more appealing/fresher rifs on the colonia theme. It's a shame when I think of what this could've been.

Disappointed on this one, the florals make this one smell like a neroli cleaning product. Not even close to Italian Bergamot from the Essenze line.

Repeat DO NOT BLIND BUY. literally gone in less than 15 minutes with one spray. Too expensive for that

It has been a while since I reached for this bottle but I thought I'd share Acqua di Bergamotto's use-case and place in my collection, without going into much depth about the notes or development itself. When applying this fragrance, its restrictive projection, longevity, and sillage guarantee that only you will smell it, and for a limited time, at that. For that reason, I often apply it liberally on hot summer days when I don't want something too cloying for myself. I do not consider it suitable for the hottest summer days, however, as something about it doesn't quite lend itself to extreme heat or humidity. The smell itself is quite natural, to borrow another review's adjective, and is presumably why performance is this fragrance's main weakness. There is a certain class, restraint, and sophistication about this scent, which means it would probably stand the test of time, but I probably would not repurchase this fragrance. I was able to get it at a very good price. It survived my collection cull of dozens of fragrances based on its merits and since I have the full presentation.

تست دوم ❤️ مثل لمس ی صابون گرون . مثل حس دوش گرفتن تو ی هتل هفت ستاره . آکوا دی برگاموتو زنییا مسخره ترین چیزی که تو این ادکلن هست واژه آکوا هست . اصلا حس آکواتیک نداره بشدت صابونی . بشدت باربرشاپی کل فضای ادکلن رو آکورد سیتروسی و پتی گرین هست . بوی نرولی و پتی گرین و برگاموت بدون اون حس فیزی و تند . خیلی صابونی طور . انگار صورتتو با ی کرم اصلاح صورت یا ی صابون قدیمی . با فرچه کف مالی کردی و اصلاح کردی و ی لوشن با بوی نرولی و پتی گرین اسپلش کرده باشی مثل بوی 4711 من که خیلی ازش خوشم اومد .ولی اصلا ادکلن خاص و واووو نیست . خیلی سادست . تقریبا کلاسیکه . درای داونش منو یاد بعضی از ادکلنهای قدیمی مردونه میندازه که موسک داشتند . کیفیتش خیلی خوب و دوستداشتنیه ولی متد ساخت ادکلن انگار کلاسیکه مثل ادکلنهای آکوا دی پارماست . پرفورمنسش هم معمولیه . درکل بدرد شروع ی روز گرم و بهاری میخوره . یا برای ریلکس کردن تو تعطیلات با ی پیراهن سفید ....

I found a promotion at a duty-free shop where this perfume costs $29 for a 100ml bottle. (The original price is ~100-130$) The store only had 2 for sale, one 100ml and one 50ml. It's a very hard-to-find perfume (rare) and it's very exclusive. As for the smell, it's incredible. Imagine taking lemon, tangerine, orange, bergamot, Sicilian lemon and crushing the peels with some flowers, and you get the scent of this perfume. (It's worth mentioning the aquatic notes here) It lasts a long time on (my) skin, for a fresh scent and the projection is very intimate, good for traveling and sitting on a balcony with the sun shining on you. Smell: 1000/10 Projection: 5/10 Longevity: 8/10

I really like italian bergamote but its too expensive for such a simple citrus fragrance.. although very good quality and smells very nice.. so i opted for acqua di bergamotto instead.. smell very nice but also very light.. doesnt last as long as italian bergamote.. doesnt smell synthetic at all.. just like others in the essense line.. what a shame it does not last long.. project for half an hour moderately.. then becone skin scent for 4 to 5 hours.. i now use it as a top layer for acqua essenziale colonia.. i would spray colonia in the morning and top it off with acqua di bergamotto at lunch.. a good complement to the drydown of acqua essenziale which to me a bit dry..

Bittersweet....no, not the fragrance, but how I'm feeling about it so far. After reading the ingredients and enthusiastic reviews—especially about the longevity—I took the plunge at Nordstrom's. At first spray, it was clear that quality ingredients were used. And the citrus, so natural and wonderful. Five minutes later, though, it was hey, where'd my bergamotto go? Almost as if the marine/floral notes are not enough to sustain it after the citrus fades. Subseqently, I've tried extra sprays with the same result. If I find the magic combo to make it last, I'll update here..strongly suggest you try before you buy.

This is a Acqua Di parma clone or better yet this what Acqua Di Parma should've done. The lasting power is so good to great with this one and believe me i really wanted to hate this fragrance because of the closeness to Acqua Di Parma but the more i sampled it the more i started to turn on Acqua Di Parma for not providing me with the staying power that this replica of a fragrance has. It really is a very,very nice copy cat for a little bit lesser price. grab a bottle before people start catching on that this is Acqua Di Parma Redux!

Very high quality smell with this one! No overpowering synthetic at all. I've tested this four times and determined that I cannot wait for it to hit the discount sites. I went against my normal rule and paid full retail for this. I have zero regret! I cannot wait for the weather to warm up so I can make this a daily wear for me. I don't expect to come across many wearing this, so it should stand out. This would be a perfect 10 if the sillage was a tad better. 9.5/10

Great classic Italian style citrus. Namesake aside, I find this to be a neroli based fragrance and resembles a fresher alternative to Acqua Di Parma. High quality with absolutely nothing jarring in there - the notes fit together beautifully. Great longevity for a citrus also. Don't let the 'sea notes' scare you off this one if you're not a fan of aquatics - there is nothing aquatic about this one. If you like the Acqua Di Parma, try this.

Ok..I just don't get all the love or hype for this scent..?? I do not like it at all... Blind buy and Regret....will sell it ..probably on ebay.. I don't like the Bergamot in this or anything else..Fads out quick on me and smell cheap...Aqua Di Parma way better.. and many others crush this...DO NOT blind buy...... The most beautiful and classy scent for summer. Rich in its composition, it unfortunately has no 'staying power'! It needs reformulation to ensure it sticks! Such a shame such a rich fragrance disappears so soon. I wear this to work without any complaints. It is a pleasant, crisp and bright citrus fragrance that nobody will find overpowering or disappointing.

All you people above whining about longevity HYDRATE your skin and this will work much better.Drink more water,put skin lotion/hand cream(unscented) on your skin for a few days and even 20-30 min before you go and spray yourself,the frag should last longer in most cases. I tried this in a dept store and got about 6 hours yesterday!

This stuff smells amazing and fresh. Its a Barber shop soapy scent eventually but done well. Its refined but less than Italian Bergamot. Its alot better than ADP colonia. Zegnas take is more modern and less cloying. It lasts but just doesnt project, its more for a close encounter. I bought a bottle, my lady thoroughly approved it

It's my first fresh fragrance that I buy for myself. It smells so refreshing especially in the recent hot weather in Jakarta. It also can give a relieve for my head in the mid of office time. The only thing that I a bit regret of purchasing Acqua di Bergamotto is its weak performance, last only like 15 minutes on me!

I just bought this a couple of days ago, and I love it! Sillage seems a bit soft, but other than that, it's a very elegant, Italian citrus summer scent akin to A.d.Parma etc. I initally wanted something from the Essenze collection, but couldn't justify the high price...so I bought this instead.

Awesome freshie. Sophisticated. Very fresh and intruiging. Simple masterful blend. Pungent and soapy scent done very well. This would be my in top 5 go to summer scents along with Adps blu version if it lasted and projected. 30 minutes top and it its completely gone. A highly skin Scent

very soury bitter and citrusy, at the same time it salty fresh herbal and not really floral. yes, i can sense the floralness in there but in minimal composition. The freshness is absolutely for relaxation. it is 90% close to Italian Bergamot in Essenze line

Almost niche quality, this gem from Zegna is best for the hot summer days here in New York. I've been wearing this a lot recently and the compliments have been consistent, fresh, invigorating, no need to worry if you want to blind buy this fragrance.
