Passion

A single sample from the vaults and ooops, too late, I've missed the boat again. Another lost lovely. This is a grand fragrance which should never have been discontinued - a gorgeously mellow and friendly (but not too boozy) woody-rum amber warmer with the same excellent saffron note Zegna showed off in Persian Saffron, but without the pushy rose or anything overly floral. Great, un-soapy olibanum only adding to the warm and fuzziness. Its alcoholic notes aren't anything like as overbearing as Lubin Idole's - this one can be safely worn to work without making anyone look at you quizzically and checking you over for a hidden hipflask - but the aura is of the same blurry barroom area, sipping moderately on something well-aged and and calmed down. While marketed to men, not butch; this could easily be worn by classy grown-up ladies without any embarrassment. Trying to figure out its smell-a-likes it hit me with a small thunderbolt: oddly very similar to Amouage Boundless, which I guess is the more halal (and still available) analogue. "Passion" may be a slight overstatement - more of a strong, strong like - but I still rate it a love for the value as a genuinely civilised experience.

Beautifully crafted new fragrance from Zegna: Elements of Man, a line that uses very few essential ingredients. Difference compared to the Essenze line: the Bergamot appears in only one fragrance instead of all of them. The names of the fragrances are very well chosen. Here, Passion, is a very round crowd pleasing fragrance (unlike Strength), the most unisex of the Elements of Man line. There is little to say in regards to the notes, as there are just a few and all are noticeable: strong round incense (olibanum, not church incense) and amber, booze (mostly rum), and Saffron. In summary, a safe blind buy in terms of scent and high quality feeling. That said, it's not a unique scent, and it's no "wow!" for me like Strength is. Insanely overpriced in my opinion ($205/1.7oz, while the Essenze, also overpriced, were tagged at $220/4.2oz), so I'm not going to buy this one (not for now at least). But should you want to gift me one, I'll wear it until the last drop, I swear :) Fall/winter evenings, 30+

This is dark, smokey boozy and woody. The oud is not listed but to me this is the most dominant note, it's not an easy western oud but dark and oriental. The boozes give some sweetness and the saffron a spicy touch. The performance is great, very long lasting and great projection. Versatility is not the best part of this fragrance, i will wear it only on cold weather and at night out situations. This fragrance is not for everybody, it's artistic and it can be appreciated from a more experienced nose. It's discontinued and very hard to find and i don't think that it worths the 200+ € retail. It's a particular scent so i wouldn't suggest to blindbuy but i like it a lot!

Really amazing perfume and so hard to find nowadays. A true unicorn. Elements of Life perfume series was released back in 2017 and it was a boutique exclusive for Zegna. They were soon discontinued, it is quite weird that they received such a limited promotion, while their price was really high. Passion I think it was the best of them all. A perfect rum - saffron perfume, to be honest I also get hints of tobacco and oud, even though those notes are not officially listed. It has great longevity, I get 12 hours with good projection. It feels really rich and you can tell that it was such a quality release. A must try and definitely full bottle worthy.

First of all these Elements of Men series are very hard to find. I believe a Zegna boutique is the best way to get one. I've waited 3-4 days to write a review about this one. One word is magic about this perfume. Seems like nothing I've smelled before. I've some alcohol based perfumes like "Les jeux son faits" but this smells like none of them. It's giving me the feeling the first day I've smelled Chergui. Smells rich and delicate, powerful but not offending. Very sweet and refined dry down. Probably not a blind buy but you should try.

This might be my favorite "olibanum fragrance". There are some other worthwhile notes here...the boozy rum/cognac, a benzoin/amber number that blends perfectly. This is one of my special fragrances, even though it comes from a designer house, the quality is there. It will leave an impression for sure, but it is not too loud. The impression will be a of a well mannered, confident, mature scent. Let the boys have their "beast mode". This one is reserved for the gents.

Another lovely perfume. Although I love it, it’s pretty similar to Oud Royal which I own so it’s redundant for me. Still I will probably get it since it’s discontinued (from what the others said) and there’s one on sale for 50% in the department store. Edit. Only after returning home did I realize that the price I paid for was for 50ml! Even at 50% off it's about the price of a TF Private Blend 50ml.

Opens with a Leather vibe, mixed with a sharp cinnamon. Saffron plays a main role and olibanum makes this scent overall, robust and spicy. This is the richer, older brother of Spicebomb IMO. The Amber in the base makes this composition sweet and rounded to create a unique and highly enjoyable scent. Fall/Winter. Leans Masculine

The boldest one in the elements collection Also very noticeable smokey incense, but I couldn't find it in the notes here By the way, the dry down is addictive, cannot stop sniffing my wrist. Love it & hope my girl loves it too.

I'm lucky to have a full bottle, my first bottle is almost empty. Great fragrance. Still think strength is the best though.

Took a chance blind buying based off the great reviews, and wow was I not disappointed. A bold, dark, and smoked incense soaked in rum. Extremely smooth and well blended, this is oozing high levels of craftsmanship. Zegna’s exclusive line is one of the best amongst the designer houses. This is definitely another winner

Who do I have to contact in order to have this inducted into the Italian Hall of Fame? When was the last time you took a Zegna seriously? I've always thought Zegna plays it too safe. Indonesian Oud is safe oud, Italian Bergamot is safe bergamot, their Bourbon Vanilla is safe vanilla and the list goes on...but Passion?...that's another story...a story worth telling. This is a combination of Krigler's Establish Cognac 66 and Tiziana Terenzi's Laudano Nero. The more I sniff, the darker this becomes. At this point, my world is recognizably sepia. It's crystal clear that this whole shebang is centered around some gunky amber and Brandy. This isn't that corner store rotgut booze, the cognac in conjunction with rum adds another amber dimension(almost cinnamon like) while increasing the compositions flavor profile. There's enough olibanum here to satisfy the "loafers with no socks" crowd. To love Oriental fragrances and not have this in your collection is just plain stupid.

This started of strong, potent and kind of "oudy" to me. Rich and interesting Oriental and it was an instant love until I hit the dry down. On me it changed to a kind of generic men's scent and became completely ordinary. I wish it ended the way it began, but maybe it's just my chemistry. For the price point, I'd choose another fragrance in the niche market. Not bad at all, just not one I'd pick as extraordinary.

Stopped in the Zegna boutique in Phipps Plaza and discovered this wonderful line of fragrances to accompany all the luxurious offerings of E-Zegna. Lots of depth in Passion. Warm and powerful. Boozy caramel cut with an earthy like resin, presumably the olibanum. Big time projection. This is not a subtle or subdued offering. One spray and I couldn't let my wrist down the entire evening. Impressive.

Very smokey, the same smoke I get from Dior's Leather Oud - albeit not so harsh, and the civet is replaced with brandy. It gets a little sweeter in the drydown and the initial smokeyness subdues. Sexy and masculine. Summary: an incense stick soaked in brandy, a few drops of saffron oil and honey.

This one could be a best seller of the line, because it is boozy, but nicely. It is a sweetish and spicy blend of strong alcohol and incense with tons of nuances: saffron, leathery, tobacco.
