Wisdom

I have a set of samples from this line and so far Wisdom is my favourite. Bright, juicy and fresh yet warm, aromatic and musky at the same time. It reminds you of all the best moments of a warm summer. I love this it is superb from the first spray to the dry down but.....I can't justify buying it because I would need to re-apply several sprays probably 3 times a day just to maintain any kind of noticeable sillage. That would make it one seriously expensive fragrance to wear on any regular basis. This sits so close to the skin. Such a disappointment for such a gorgeous masculine citrus aromatic like this.

Particularly pleasant. Painfully pricy. But not unique and not that robust - therefore partially pointless. This is a great, restrained, perfectly unisex orange/herbal, tinged with greener, almost-vetiver leafy notes from the lemon verbena; utterly non-harsh and deeply classy, a virtual splash of common sense and good taste. If you like Hermes Concentre d'Orange Vert or Parfums d'Empire Azemour, it's odds-on you will like this too. Not remotely over-butch or overbearingly aftershavey; there's a lovely peppery undertow to it all which adds extra interest to the dry, zesty, serious citrus in the middle of it all. Anyone at all could wear or love this, though it does seem to me like more of a mature/work safe / near-formal occasion scent rather than an experimental wig-out or a loud party banger. Still, performance is unimpressive even for an EdP - totally linear, and lasting only up to 4-5h on skin, never projecting all that far, either, although the smell itself is never less than lovely. Given that it's marketed and priced as an EXTRAIT, though, that's just not good enough for the money. I really do like it a whole lot - just not THAT much. Worth chasing / trying if you don't already have a great orange/citrus scent in your repertoire, but don't be swept onto any over-enthusiastic hype train here. Use your own wisdom and wait for this to show up at discount because the RRP definitely seems an unwise use of money to me.

Well crafted classical perfume. High quality scent, but the less interesting of the 5 Elements of Man fragrances, imho. The Chicago store confirmed that the Essenze line still on the market will share the stage with the 5 fragrances of the new "Elements of Man" line until Spring 2019, when the Essenze will be discontinued. "Wisdom" (of Elements of Man new line) is a fragrance that contains mandarin and neroli. It is thus the "universal" alternative for "Sicilian Mandarin" and "Mediterrean Neroli". Spring/Fall, daytime , 30+.

This one and Talent serve as the functional freshies but Wisdom is even more classic in the Eau de Cologne sense comprising as it does mainly citruses and then a strong white floral neroli. Very nice and I have a new appreaciarion for just how much neroli can differ in smell as a raw material, and how it’s actually pretty expensive. However my overriding perception is that I shouldn’t be paying £195 for a nice citrus/white floral, but money talk is vulgar and it’s not that much of a big deal if you love it.
