Z Zegna New York

This is my favourite of the 3 in the cities collection. Although all 3 are masculine, this one is the most masculine of all. I'm not sure what davana oil is, but together with the rum, it projects a very rugged boozy-leathery vibe that's uber masculine, brash and a little mature, but playful, and brings to my mind images of a 1920s jazz & swing club. Quality ingredients mean that performance is good as well. Suits all seasons, and like the others in the cities series, it would make a terrific office fragrance. Luvin' it. This is class and I recommend it, but certainly not as a safe blind buy.

Very unique Absinthe and Agarwood Aged Rum smell. Kind of dark scent, suitable for cold weather and specially night time given it's multiple boozy notes. This will smell kind of bohemian and decadent from all that beverage notes, but at the same time distinguished from that resinous woody note that resembles Oud. I love this one but beware because this is not a mass appeal scent, the opening is certainly surprising and could even be offensive to some people, however after a while it settles as a nice nutty/resinous wood scent that's not thick or overwhelming.

Chemical mess. Totally generic vibes with totally synthetic materials and totally forgetable. You might get astonished that they release this shit with another real beauty— Milan. It's probably the case that both the civilization and prosperity of Milan were hundreds years ahead of New York in the mind of Trudi Loren, the nose. Rating: 3.0/10

Addictive smell kind of unique with good longevity and sillage. It's a great fragrance with niche touches. Don't worry about the rum note you will not smell like an alcoholic :) It’s a compliment getter for sure my girlfriend loves it. It's boozy, woody and masculine.

Strong leathery & peppery opening, but settles down to a fresh, dry & subtle smokiness. I can detect maybe some faint booziness from the rum but if you didn't know it was in the composition you won't even notice it. Quite masculine dry down, kind of niche quality, potential signature scent for all occasions. More suitable for cooler months but can possibly get away with it all-year round. Reminds me of a few well known designer faves such as Bvlgari Man In Black, Lalique Encre Noire & Bentley For Men Absolute. Highly recommended if you love uber-manly scents...will impress the ladies & gentlemen alike for sure. It's a YES for me.😜👍

Pretty harsh opening, but when It settles down its quite nice. In the drydown it’s a masculine, spicy fragrance. Last for a good 5-7 houres. The Zegna Z Milan is way beter, this one is ok...

So smells the trum of an old sail ship full of spices and ron. Clean, nice, high quality!

You get the rum all along, boozy piercing opening with some saffron and other spice, grey-metallic in terms of visual/color. Doesn't smell dirty, it's very linear, no depth (not in a negative way). Good for office use or for daily errands. Becomes even better after 1 hour on skin. If you like booze and leather/saffron notes then this would have been a like surely. I especially love the mysterious herbal patchouli background. Unfortunately very short-lived in the market as with the rest of the collection. This was a great release from Zegna alongside with Milan which was my favorite, New York being a close second...

I see this very cheap recently.. very tempted to buy.. but after smelling it and waiting for the drydown.. i know its not my type of scent.. and its not very refine.. quite harsh.. i dont like it.. even a cheapie need to smell nice.. otherwise it will only collect dust in my 100 over bottle collection.. a pass for me.. milan definately the best from this line.. anyway.. all 3 from this line perform very good.. its a shame that the shanghai and this dont smell good..

Powerfull! Like a drink... makes a magnetic field, may be is not an original fragance but really cozy and hard! The main ingredient is the rum and the herbs
