Escada Collection 2001

I found a full bottle by chance... and only for 10 euros, how weird is that! Apparently the seller wasn't aware of Collection's worth. According to Icecube's description, I have the 2000 edition. This one has been on my radar for the past years, mainly because I found the coca cola note interesting. I mean, how would a beverage like that translate into fragrance? Well, it seems the infamous note revolves around the sweetness of coca cola, not particularly the fizzy aspects. The opening is quite juicy and sweet. Slightly fresh due to the mandarin, mostly sweet/molasses-like due to the coca cola. The florals seem to provide a creamy aspect to fragrance, but they are rather well blended and do not stick out. The basenotes complement the coca cola notes and it becomes deeper at this point. Kinda honey, tobacco and cherry like. I'm quite fond of the fragrance. I especially like how it develops on my skin. However it does remind me Gaultier2 (which isn't a bad thing at all). It's also kind of musky on me. Sillage is quite strong but mellows down, can't comment on longevity yet.

I received the third (tan with blue flowers) as a Christmas gift. At that time, chocolate was the rage in perfumes, and Nordstrom heavily marketed this one as a chocolate scent. I wear it once a year at Christmas to try and save its deliciousness. All of the notes listed for the perfume are noticeable. However, my bottle is lovely smelling with heavy chocolate notes. Let me know if anyone out there knows of a scent similar to that bottle. Both my daughters are claiming this as what they want when I die. It's that yummy!

I have 4 of these collection perfumes so I have some information about them here. It started with the bottle that looks exactly like Margaret Ley and it came 1997 - you can find it here on Fragrantica under Escada Collection - that perfume had different notes then the following ones that in my experience are all the same - and that is the notes listed for this version above. - 1998 Purple, velvet bottle with silver top. -1999 Yellowish/Peachecolor with purple flowers and gold topp. - 2000 Black velvet and silver top. - 2001 Pink velvet with green leafs and silver top. - 2002 Red metallic and goldlines - red top. - 2003 Blue velvet with rhinestones. Might even have been some more versions but as this was a limited edition sold at Christmas you dont se them often.

This is possibly the most beautiful fragrance I've ever worn. No, it's the most beautiful. And it's very long-lasting. I was so excited to find two partial bottles tucked away in an old moving box today. I wanted to write my first review about this scent because it has become so dear to me. I'm not sure if it's the notes of tobacco mixed with sweet caramel but it has a quality that I find hypnotic and intensely sensual (almost embarrassingly so as I keep smelling my wrist and thinking of cool nights of snuggling close with a long ago love). I feel fortunate to have found my bottles and hope that I don't use them too quickly.

This was my thing back in the day. man o man! I better keep my half a bottle then. I did not know that it is a collector's item, till i went looking for a newer bottle. I have had it since 2001/2002. Lost the cap. The smell is still good. It is my oldest perfume and i cannot find it anywhere along side my Marc Jacob's Orange.

I would have bought 10 bottles of this had I known it would never be around again.

This goes for like 400 bucks on ebay right now that's how rare it it!! Wow!
