Escada Magnetism for Men

Escada’s Magnetism for men really is a masterpiece of marketing and design. To name a fragrance “Magnetism for Men” is to make a bold claim, a promise of social success to which we all secretly aspire, a promise that we too can emulate that inexorable force of nature where some objects become irresistible to others. “Magnetism for Men” could be the title of a self-help book, and implies that this fragrance will imbue its wearer with the glamour and appeal of a movie star, as if it were a magic spell, potion or talisman. The name suggests “charisma in a bottle” - à la Dale Carnegie it will help us to win friends and influence people , and might even encourage the objects of our desire to suddenly find us irresistibly attractive. Then there’s the bottle, sleek and elegant, reminiscent of Art Deco, dark purple glass like a polished, faceted amethyst. It is purple but not just any purple. It’s neither lilac, nor violet nor lavender, all of which are a bit girly and feminine. No wussy flowers here, thank you very much This is πορφύρα (“porphura”) the colour whose use was regulated by law in Ancient Greece and Rome, Imperial Purple, the colour of power and luxury - that’s the purple of Magnetism. If we could smell colours, Imperial Purple would smell like Magnetism for Men. Prince would have loved it. The amethyst coloured bottle contributes to our impression of how it smells. MfM smells purple . For me it’s not a “cola” or a “grape” note - MfM is not that explicit - this is a Michel Almairac creation after all - it’s a combination of very subtle hints and suggestions that can be confusing because the impression created is somehow familiar but hard to identify, leading the wearer to draw their own conclusion. It’s not easy to effectively translate a sensory experience into words and MfM is a real challenge for me because I lack the right ones. Magnetism for Men opens with a subtle hint of spice (or, rather, saffron), then becomes sweet, woody with hints of fruit, resins and the suggestion of a vaguely boozy note that has a gourmand thing happening, almost like a smell you can taste or a taste you can smell. It suggests, it does not scream. When I was a kid I adored Asterix - the Romans in Asterix were always drinking purple coloured wine. Magnetism for Men reminds me of how my younger self imagined wine would taste. What I’m trying to say is there's a dreamy suggestion, a gourmand note evocative of an idealised concept of purple cartoon wine, as imagined by a child reading Asterix. This purple elixir - the bottle is purple and its content is (lightly) tinted to match - really is like a magic potion, so unusual and so tantalising that it fascinates. Been trying to work out what MfM reminds me of ... curiously enough it reminds me of the original Shiseido version of «Fémininité du Bois» in style - especially the woods and the dry down. If only MfM had the same performance and longevity as FdB it would be glorious. Escada really should re-launch Magnetism for Men. Considering its cult status a new version would take the world by storm. I also have Escada pour Homme and aside from being discontinued and having a cult following the only thing both of these Escada men’s fragrances have in common is less-than-ideal performance. Magnetism has surprised me in the past however as I can often detect it the morning after a sleep. In any case this is a fascinating fragrance that I adore, but would only recommend a blind buy if you have obscene amounts of disposable income. The outrageous bronze-balled hubris of calling a fragrance “Magnetism for Men” is truly impressive - practically inviting a blitzkrieg of punitive thunderbolts from Zeus - but what could so easily have been a cringeworthy punch line or a forgettable non-entity was instead saved from oblivion by creativity ( Merci infiniment Mr Almairac ) and by something very close to high camp fabulousness in its presentation (the box is almost as cool as the bottle) - the end result is a case study in brilliant design and marketing. Love it. I consider myself lucky to have had Magnetism for Men come into my life. I love wearing it and just wish it weren’t so hard to get or so obscenely expensive so I could wear it as often as I’d like.

Vanilla Coke. Mmm, I do love it. And I do love this opening, which is quite reminiscent of it. Quickly though it changes and there is this beautiful pink pepper note (the schinus [pink pepper = schinus molle] note listed). It tickles the nose the way sniffing a carbonated beverage might but it adds depth alongside the bite, and makes the opening more captivating than if they'd simply gone for a more straightforward effervescence. The pink pepper is joined by an aroma that is something like grape. I think it might be some kind of jasmine isolate combined with a rather pronounced note of tolu balsam (I'm proud of myself, I picked up that note clearly before even checking the pyramid ). Tolu balsam smells almost like a mix of caramel and vanilla. The grape note itself is thin but sits on this luscious tolu heart, with the pink pepper slowly fading to a whisper and then disappearing. The opening and the heart are very sexy without being ostentatious like A*Men or Le Male. Further into the base and what do I smell but.. a hint of Minotaure? Can this be? A quick foray over to fragrantica shows that Michel Almairac was the nose behind both scents. The base of Magnetism is quite like the middle and later stage of Minotaure.. the stage in Minotaure once the leather has kicked in. There is that same fatty texture (almost like an aldehyde but it's too late in the development for that.. perhaps a lily of the valley note?) and the combination of notes present calls to mind lavender, too. Does anyone else detect the link between Minotaure and Magnetism? To my nose their bases share a lot in common, although Minotaure has a more citrus presence and Magnetism that slightly grapey odor (which fades more and more with time). If you are a fan of Minotaure's latter stages and are looking for something more playful and sexy, definitely give Magnetism a sniff! For those unfamiliar with Minotaure I'd say the basenotes in Magnetism are warm and inviting - a hint of sweet lavender (well, it smells like lavender absolute, at least - this is far sweeter than normal jasmine without any of the herbal bite), caramel, some non-indolic jasmine, all presented with the 'fatty texture' of many florals and aldehydes (I hope you know what I mean, I don't know how else to explain it). There is a hint of something like tobacco present, too. Just a hint. The basenotes are more masculine than feminine. I actually don't find the top notes so feminine, either - the most feminine stage is an hour or two in the heart when the the pink pepper has faded and the tolu/grape/jasmine combo are dominant, before the woods/tobacco/leather of the base make their presence known. If you really like the topnotes of this scent, check out (yes, I"m plugging it again, but it's the only scent with somewhat similar topnotes that I've smelled) MPG's Bois de Turquie. That's kind of a cola/cream soda like opening - without the grapey notes and with bay laurel acting as the spice note instead of pink pepper. The heart and basenotes are quite different than Magnetism but the overall feel and progression is somewhat similar. If you like the latter heart notes and base notes of Magnetism and think they'd be good with a citrus/coriander/geranium/lavender heart, check out Minotaure. Longevity and sillage are both above-average to excellent.

After falling madly in love with Casual Friday, (of which I discovered a bargain source in the remaindered stock of an out-of-business perfume store) I was keen to explore the other - sadly discontinued - Escada masculine offerings, due to their almost legendary status among certain fumeheads I respect, and recently acquired a 100ml tester of Magnetism for men. I certainly wasn't disappointed with Magnetism for Men. The opening is rich, hypnotically beautiful and quite unlike any other fragrance I have ever savoured. To me, it is sublimely beautiful, and so perfectly blended that I have a great deal of trouble discerning individual components - it evokes the bouquet of a fine red wine, with subtle hints of woods, a mild aromatic sweetness and a complexity and depth that, true to its appellation, is extremely captivating and alluring. Magnetism is certainly a very apt name. However it seems that I become somewhat anosmic to the fragrance as it develops (which also happens with the original Rocabar by Hermes), since after about half an hour I find that it fades to the point where I can no longer detect it except as a (beautiful) skin scent, although the sublime beauty of this masterpiece remains evident to others, and elicits both curiosity and compliments from people around me. I was wearing it last night actually, and on waking this morning, after eight hours sleep, I was delighted to be greeted by the magical fragrance which I could once again smell. So inspite of the fact that it had been almost undetectable to me the evening before, it's presence returned to my senses after a period of sleep. Thus, the longevity seems to be far greater than I initially thought. I find that I lack the lexicon or vocabulary to translate my response to this amazing fragrance into words, and I agree wholeheartedly with other reviewers who use the term "sexy" to describe it. To put it simply, Magnetism is just a very, very, sexy fragrance. Edit: the above was written in 2015. Over the last five years my love for this unique fragrance has intensified and Magnetism is always considered when it comes to extra-special occasions. It is a sensual, seductive and sophisticated elixir and I have never encountered anything that comes close. It is like a very fine wine - in more ways than one (even the dry-down recalls the bouquet of a vintage Bordeaux). I only wish I had a barrel of Magnetism as I would absolutely love to be able to wear it more often. It really is almost like a magic potion insofar as it delights and intoxicates the senses of the wearer as well as those around him (or her), eliciting curiosity, compliments and questions. Intoxicating is a good word for it. This is a truly special fragrance that smells like the essence of luxury and Dionysian hedonism. It is in a class of its own and ought to be re-launched. So beautifully eclectic and exotic it’s a timeless classic.

Followed my girl to a little home grown tienda that deals mainly in jewelry, along with some fragrance. I’ve been there before, but been generally bored with their offerings as it’s mostly a regurgitation of any YouTuber’s Top 10, along with the main line frags for men and women from the “big” designer houses. Much to my surprise, I saw a lonely bottle of this sitting on the bottom shelf. Not looking to excited, I gave them a “how much are you wanting for that one?”....they kinda shrugged, and said “$70, ordered for someone else a long time ago and they never picked it up.” Ok...$70 will do - especially from a shop that’s changing $100+ for Dylan Blue, Versace Pour Homme, etc. I held in my excitement until we got outside and then showed my girl what they’re going for on eBay...she started to suggest I do the same; but...”my precious” *pets box Scheemgally* Just to show the goldmine I stumbled into, they also have a brand new 100ml of the OG Versace Man, which I will be getting after Christmas. I had a sample of this a while ago and loved it. Just not $300 love. For $70 I would never hesitate in this one. Not too sweet, not too spicy, not too powdery - everything, every facet just melds together right on this one. For some reason I get a bit of an Iris feel in it, which I know isn’t listed but I like it. I like the opening, but this one has a dry-down like no other fragrance I own, and that’s so rare anymore. Truly sad this isn’t in production anymore, I’ll have to be sparing with my sprays.

I am inclined to agree with the vast majority of users on this site, this really is a beautiful, sexy fragrance and is without shadow of a doubt my personal favourite. I am yet to find anything that resembles it in the slightest and would be happy for someone to enlighten me if there is a doppleganger out there somewhere. Over the years I have owned around ten bottles of this stuff. Yes it does have the whole "cola vibe" going on with it and the "martini alcoholic" opening but it does settle in the dry down and becomes quite rich and thick. Some may say this is synthetic smelling but personally I don't really care because the stuff just smells so good. I have personally found that the newer version made by procter & gamble in the UK is less powdery than the original Scannon, French produced perfume. All in all though a highly original, seductive scent that I have to use sparingly as it is no longer easy to find. Despite this being my favourite fragrance ever my negative critique on this fragrance is its poor sillage. It just doesn't hang around long enough. A little bit like the beautiful woman that sways past you on a warm summers night on the terrace. She has come and gone all too fast - but she was beautiful in that fleeting moment. If Escada had someone thinking out there in the brains trust they would start producing this stuff again and make a hell of a lot more money out of me and a lot of other loyalists I dare say! Bring back the Magnetism!

I came across a 93' Escade Pour Homme which I enjoyed it but wasn't interested in buying it again. The salesperson showed me the Escada Magnetism and I was told that it is no longer available in any of the major retailer's anymore. I decided to buy it without being able to smell the cologne. After I sprayed it on my skin, I enjoyed the very unique aroma of Tolu Balsam mixed with Musk. The smell of sandalwood with a woody/Amber blend made it an overall excellent men's cologne. What I enjoy is that there isn't too many similar men's cologne available so it makes this definitely one of kind. I found that when I sprayed on my skin, it last over 6 hour's. On the first day I already received several complements wearing it and I was asked where I bought it. What I also like is that it isn't very strong when I first sprayed it on yet I found that it last for a long time. It is an excellent evening cologne...very distinct. Overall 9.5/10...the only thing that I find is that it is slightly on the sweet side. If it had a bit more spice's without changing the chemistry, it would of elevated this cologne to a perfect 10/10..an absolute superb men's cologne.

I suppose all good things must come to a end right? I have had a love affair with this fragrance since it first came out. It was ( at that time ) stunning & a attention grabber. Sure it has a grape vibe to it, sure it smells of vanilla coke, sure it is sweet. But it is good. Several things that bothered me about this fragrance was it's lack of projection which on me was not much. Also longevity is not great either but acceptable for a concentration such as this. It would be better if it lasted 10+ hours. I have sadly out grown this particular fragrance as it reminds me of young, juvenile, horny teenagers who are looking to bounce on anything they can. That is not so bad right? Well it can be once you are older & you mature. Magnetism always got me compliments whenever I wore it but as of late, it was doing nothing for me so I sold my bottle to a friend who loves it. I will always have fond memories of this fragrance & the times we spent together. But it is time to move on to other things. Magnetism smells like it easily could have been a 90's creation to my nose. Just young, fun stuff! Enjoy it while it last.

This is one of the most intriguing scents I have come across. Having that said, I am very into designer frags and this one is a homerun. Coca-cola vibe? Meh, maybe ever-so-slightly. Grape soda vibe? Maybe in the least-bit. The main reason people say this is fizzy/has a coca-cola vibe is because this thing starts out incredibly metallic. In fact, it's so metallic, it's almost nauseating once sprayed. The initial blast is HARSH! However, as it starts to settle, the magic happens. The first time I wore this (a few weeks ago) I instantly fell in love when it started to mellow out. The metallic tones faded and this gorgeous, smooth, soft-spicy vanilla appeared. I catch whiffs every minute with this stuff and it is so good. Extremely unique, masculine, youthful and playful but serious at the same time. This instantly become a favorite of mine. The vanilla dry down is unbelievable! You must try this on skin....It does not have the same affect on paper as it does skin!

If you are like myself and one of the few that have the real authentic Magnetism , then we should cherish what we have. Most of us were captivated with the reviews and comments on the alluring properties of Magnetism. All that was said before was spot on. As this scent can be hypnotic in the right setting on the right individual. Put it like this, when girls have tired of smelling 1 million and its ilk, they will be still trying to get their minds around Magnetism. It offers a complexity of character that draws others closer and keeps them there. Not cloyingly sweet and obstrusive like so many present day evening scents, just sure of itself and what it can offer to the world without being obnoxious or rude. If you have this scent (the real and authenic one)...you will know exactly what I mean. 9/10. re: SOS review below, spot on about the Minatoure like drydown with possibly more balsam to convey a more solid feel to the composition.

First off gotta thank fragrantica community which was the reason behind buying this gorgeous fragrance. Didn't know much about it till saw it for almost a decent price, AUD30 for a 50 mill bottle. After reading the reviews I reckon I must consider myself lucky with those crazy prices out there. Having a decent collection on my shelf I'm not a pro in describing a scent tho, but the sour grape right after the initial spray was obvious to me. And after couple of minutes couldn't believe the transition of that pleasant sour grap to a nice powdery almost feminine sweetness. No doubt it's going to be my most unique designer fragrance which can't find any other nearly similar to. Wasn't sure if I'm gonna love it but after a day of wear definitely jump to the store tomorrow to clean up the rest if there is any. So bottom line if you can get your hands on it for under $100 don't even bother to think and spend the money. Cheers.

I was actually picking up a bottle of something else when I saw they had a few bottles of Escada Magnetism in the display case. Since it seems to be discontinued and it's gotten such great reviews from people here, I jumped at the chance to buy some. After I got it home, I sprayed a little on my wrist and I honestly couldn't understand what all the hype was about. It smelled cheap, medicinal, slightly boozy smell. Disappointed, I went about doing other things when I noticed this amazing, sweet, cola-like smell coming from my wrist. Magnetism really evolves into an interesting, unique fragrance after the initial 20-30 minutes. It's quite unlike anything else I own. The sillage and longevity are great on my skin too. It was definitely worth the blind purchase. You just have to be patient with it. I'm thinking about buying up a few more bottles of this stuff, since I don't think I ever want to run out.

Yes, it's casual AND a good scent. Magnetism gets the atention of whomever happens to be around. An elegant and misterious scent. In one word: SEXY. If you use it wisely - no more than 2 sprays - it won't overpower the olfactive glands of the passers-by. Think on how Joop! Homme, even being delicious, is a burden when it comes to this issue. And even without being overpowering, longevity is excellent: much more than 5 hours on me with those 2 sprays. Its diet cola-like smell must be my favorite gourmand. More wearable and well-finished than A*men. In the drydown the Light Coke gets woody and sandy. I've realised that women tend to like sweet scents on men, and I think the reasonable ones would prefer Light Coke to dirty brownies. (Hm, I hope no cereal bar scent appears during my lifetime.) That's why Magnetism is becoming bit by bit my favorite night time perfume.

I wanted to thank you a beautiful store clerk at the Pacific Centre now a Nordstrom store for stopping me back in 2004 and asking to try one of the very nice new fragrances. I said why not and she sprayed on a card Magnetism by ESCADA. I ended up buying a larger 100 ML bottle, years had passed and I throw it away in a garbage bin leaving only the cap. Now 16 years later I feel so mad at myself for not keeping the bottle, hahaha you can never know when one fragrance becomes a limited "hard to find" gem. I am writing this review looking at the cap thinking where are you my beautiful bottle of Magnetism ;) Oh, and yes the fragrance was very nice, I doubt I could pull it off now but back in 2004 it was awesome. P.S. Hoping someone out there would pick up on this story and make a copy or maybe ESCADA themselves come up with MAGNETISMMXXI (it's about the time).

A long time favourite of mine, and certainly in my probable 'top five frags I MUST always own'... Escada Magnetism. The opening is a synthetic sweet yet spiced affair, slightly peppered. Like nothing I've ever experienced to be frank. And it's this opening that just makes potential buyers recoil. Yet, as has been mentioned many times the wearer must remain patient, because serously, the drydown is awesome. very smooth wood and leather accords start to appear followed by the base's caramelised amber, vanilla and musk notes. All of this results in a fantastic, well blended heart to base transition that is as good as anything I've ever experienced. Great longevity and good projection. Again, another great fragrance discontinued. But if you manage to get hold of a bottle treasure it, as they are getting A LOT harder to find. Worth every penny, I kid you not.

It is one of the best, no ifs, ands, or buts for me. I still have a half bottle from 2007 and, on occasion, will take off that cap and bask in the great memories it brings back when wearing it out clubbing. It is the only frag I've ever used that attracted women on a consistent basis and who actually went out of their way to ask what I was wearing. Which in turn got the conversation going and subsequent good times. A unique sent for sure. Apparently, it has one or more ingredients in the formula which cannot be used in fragerences anymore. So no return to the consumer retail market in its original composition ever again for this beast of a fragerence. The dupes are available, but there is no substitute worthy of this masterpiece. Mostly fakes are out there now, and what's left that is real to buy is just too expensive. Oh well, that's life.

Managed to pick up a bottle of this,while just on holiday with the wife and kids in Spain. I really love that cherry coke thing going on with it, its so playful and sexy, with a nice balmy drydown, that really does it justice. Also the best leather smell that I've ever got my nose on,,smells like an old biker jacket I used to wear in the 80s, that I used to polish with patchouli oil, its simply amazing. This frag has been a real shit to find for a reasonable price, I'm so glad I managed to finally get a bottle for €35. I love the stuff, but I'm gonna use it sparingly. Glad I can tick this off my wish list.. I like to make a comparison frag on my reviews, but this smells very unique,, maybe the only frag that smells a bit like this is, la nuit d'lhomme.

It looks like all Escada male frags are discontinued. This is the most unigue designer scent ever IMO. The tolu balsam,amber,saffran, and leather are fantastic. I am not a huge fan of leather but the surrounding notes make this astounding. It's a very deep and rich oriental that can easily outshine most niche scents of it's type.i bought a couple bottles before it got discontinued so it will remain in my collection forever. The longevity and silage are excellent unless you got a fake bottle in which plenty are sold on Ebay. Easily over 10 hours with silage being steady throughout the maturation of the scent. If you can find it at around $150 I would say go for it!

its gota cola vibe but starts spicy and in the opposite order from virtually all scents but it gets sexier as time goes on, its long lasting and a nice woodsy spicy masculine aroma with a GREAT musk note and the florals help blend the entire matrix. there are LOTS of notes in this stuff that are not listed here, but the entire drydown is very mysterious and a unique sensual scent this is one of the phenomenal scents that smells amazing and can play tricks on the wearer, giving one sexy aroma and then keeping anotehr close to the skin and smelling like one thing then the other and keeping it intresting gotto say this stuffs well worth the money im glad i got it

Es una fragancia que llegó a mi de casualidad hace unos 5 años, no la conocía y vaya que fue una agradable sorpresa, es una bomba sexy, conquistadora, muchos mencionan está parte del refresco de cola y es verdad, huele a nuez de cola que con el almizcle la hace limpia y refinada, las maderas le dan un toque muy masculino, con una parte de cuero sutil que le da cuerpo, todas las notas están muy bien trabajadas en esta fragancia que sin duda hoy es una de mis favoritas de mi colección, en estos días es un perfume bastante cotizado pensar que pude conseguir está botella en menos de 75dls, simplemente agradezco está delicia y obra maestra de la perfumería

Sweet sexiness in a bottle. Just love it! Fizzy sweet and mysteriously catchy, Magnetism sure deserves its name. It attracts me like a magnet attracts iron powder. With a wonderful sillage, it fills the whole room and leaves a perfectly alluring trail behind. I can't tell apart any notes though I can say I get a grape flavoured coke feeling. It doesn't sound attractive at all but somehow when a man sprays the perfume and it grows on him, Magnetism is a sexy, a little crispy, sufficiently edgy and a stunning elixir. Moreover, there's the not-so-well-hidden promise of fun. Real fun. Mmmmh, I can't get enough of this scent.

Absolutely an amazing scent.Incredible opening. Great Dry Down. Super versatile . Excellent presentation. Another discontinued masterpiece by Escada . Right down to the bottle. Magnetism has really evolved into an incredible, unique fragrance! Even though it has moderate longevity it's still great. To truely appreciate this 4-6 sprays will project well . Others can pick it up even if you can't smell it after awhile. This goes in one of my top 10 of all time! nothing comes close to this scent . One of the most compliment getters in my collection! 9/10 !

Sorry guys. On my previous post, I was saying that this gem has similarity with Midnight in Paris. But I was totally wrong. The Escada Magnetism still far superior than MIP for my personal opinion. I love the sweet metallic grape fizzy cola smell. It just so well constructed. But beware, because the price of this gem has spike, there is a lot of counterfeit in the market now. The gem easily can last 12 hours on me. In cold weather it will project like a beast. Hopefully Escada will produce back this gem.

It is a great scent, i am so glad i got it when i had the chance but its one of those oriental scents that you have to give time to dry down.. and its musky woodsy base really makes it appealing. I personally do not get any coca cola or other notes, but I see a fairly strange smelling top and a great drydown if you can endure the first 5 minutes Bottom line: long lasting, better drydown than so many scents and from a great scent line. If you like a different nice smelling scent this is for you

Im glad i bought this 3 years ago. Didnt know it was rare to find till i found out. Though my bottle is almost gone few mills left on 1.7oz. This one is mysterious smell. I havent this before. Usually when I find smell new scent it reminds me of this and that. but this one is gorgeous. Dark, sweet, mysterious scent. Beautiful bottle design too. I cant believe its hard to find. Now this thing cost like a niche fragrance. Im glad i have this on my collection. Great silage and longevity.

I just really have to say and share this: M A G N I F I C E N T! this one is so special. the top notes just blew me away at first sniff. drydown is just nice, not too strong, not too loud, sweet in a masculine way and sexy. yes, a true magnet. this is the best escada scent along with pour homme. if i could find 10 bottles of it, i would gladly stock it up. perhaps i am exaggerating the number a bit, but this, is, hands down, a sweet nectar, FOR A MAN! -Mr. Almond-

This is an incredible frag. I have yet to find a woman whose nose doesn't twitch and immediately fall in love with this scent. For me I was pretty happy when I first tried it as it is quite intense and different to almost anything else I have ever tried. Deeply peppery with a lovely sharpness balanced with a lovely mature wood. Playful and seductive in equal measure. I am so sad it is not so readily available as this is one of the very best.

This was a true masterpiece of perfumery! It possessed a wonderful sharpness and a deliberate harshness that acted as a real magnet. I have genuinely never smelled anything quite like it since. It was an unusual fragrance with a strong character that commanded attention every time it was worn—I even picked up a distinct 'cola' vibe from it! Intense, absolutely amazing, and strongly aphrodisiac. I only wish it was still in production

Pretty generic at first spray, BUT, once this stuff starts to dry down this stuff becomes sex, attention, female getter in a bottle, I wore this once to the store just to see how it would do around a bunch of people and the comments and compliments I got from women were outrageous! Definitely buy you will thank me later. However this is a all play no business scent can't wear it everyday, but when u do u will definitely get noticed

This used to be one of my favorite scent in 2000s, now browsing the Fragrantica, I can see it has been discontinued and sells on ebay for 300 USD. Looking back, it was certainly high quality (and back then also affordable) stuff - great leathery, sweet & spicy scent. This used to be very seductive parfume, makes me sad to see such great refined juices get dumped and people still keep buying gallons of AdG aquatic scents...

Probably who still wonder how Magnetism smell you can try Van Cleef & Arpels Midnight In Paris EDP. I was shocked MIP has same smell with Magnetism drydown (grape & leather) not the "marker pen & metallic" smell. But MIP is more well construct and mature. It more like a big brother to Magnetism. So now I'm happy because I have the replacement for my empty Magnetism bottle. Plus it much better and can be wear anytime.

Indeed, there is a metallic undertone hidden in this scent, but in an erotic way. I fell in love with it the first time I tried it. The perfect scent for Central European dandies of the 21st century, but only as long as the weather doesn't become too warm. PS: My bottles seem to have gone bad. Imagine a sparkling sugar drink thats fizzing in your nose off the cup. Extremely good. The best days of perfumery...Escada Magnetism is an effervescent fizzier sprite cola DNA in the vein of the cola characteristics within dior homme intense. Just no iris or chocolate here. With a crystalline sugar dry down that is addicting and reminds one excitingly of the deep sunset maroon purple color scheme.

This is a very unusual fragrance, starts off with a sweet cherry cola and saffron scent, then settles to a deliscious smoky, woody and leather redelance..The secret is in the dry down! Ive so far had alot compliments with this sexy scent and its great for daytime or evening wear...Its a real shame that Escada is discontinue with this fragrance and im glad ive bought a few more bottles of THIS!..

Got a big bottle of this so cheap a few years back lol, i never ever thought it'd become the discontinued hard to find monster that it is. Its not bad at all but i dont love it, not sure id pay a £££ for it now. Sweet musky slightly muted smelling, fruity, not bright or sharp. Pleanty of iso super lol, touch of spice. Doesnt smell like much else pretty unique!

I used to love this scent so much! I recently came across the new Brioni EDP and it reminded me of two scents: with just a few sprays, Jeans Couture Versace Man. But with about 7 sprays, something hit me with a memory of Esacada Magentism. Something interesting, both Escada Magetisum and Brioni EDP were created by the same perfumer, Michel Almairac! So cool!

Still left about 70% in my 100ml bottle which I bought 10 years back. Need to use it sparingly since is almost impossible to get the new bottle. One of the top my favorite cologne. I love the grape, ink & fizzy cola smell. Very long lasting in cold temperature. It's really remind me my youngster life. I wish Escada will produce this cologne back.

Oh my! Escada magnetism for men. It is hard to describe this lively and at the same time mysterious cologne. Fizzy cherry cola like opening, sweet and smoky middle, sweet leathery drydown. This is one of the best men's evening fragrances out there, unique scent. I have been told that it is going to be discontinued so I gotta stock up.

Always thought that if I was ever digging and stumbled into a well full of cherry coke then I's surface smelling like this stuff. Former girlfriends didn't rate it but the new lady loves it which is somewhat bittersweet because I don't have a spare bottle. God, I'd forgotten how much I love this juice. Escada - bring it back in 2014!

An excellent fragrance! As I normally say: "It has a strong Power of Imagination"! Its powdery/leathery tones take you on a journey through your own imagination way back into the primal times of your infancy!!! EXCELLENT PS Why is it being discontinued in Portugal?!? Went to buy my new bottle and all the shops warned me of it!!!

What an odd array of smells. I can't put my finger on why I like this, but for some reason I really enjoy this one. I love woody and spicy tones and this seems to do it a little differently to others, almost with a sweet touch. I was given it for free from a guy at work, and have never looked back. I highly suggest it.

pertama kali pakai parfum ini tahun 2006. Aroma woodynya agak terkesan hars & menusuk pada fase opening, tapi untuk drydownnya terkesan sweet & powdery. Just give me 10 seconds to sniff it after 3 sprays, INCREDIBLE!!! it's reminds me of tequila smells. Very magnetism, I'd like used this for dating and I will never be wrong. Scent: 9.5/10 Projection: 9/10 Longevity: 9/10 5 Stars for it. (But now i'ts hard to find this Sex In The Bottle in my country)

I think this wonderful scent has been withdrawn from the market in my country. I had four samples of this perfume and I can guarantee that a perfume is spectacular, especially for use when going out at night. I would be very happy if this perfume is for sale, but apparently is out of the market.

Finally .Igot another discontinued gem.all i get from it is totally powdery vibes.yes absolutely powderiness is dominent in this fragrence ,the powderiness like barbershop smell.its so smooth and soothing scent.lts unique in its kind.thats why it has been discontinued.

This gem needs to come back to reality. I call Escada Magnetism "tango in a bottle". It's seductive, sexual and sinfully delicious just like tango. Has anyone noticed a similarity of Magnetism with Tom Ford Plum Japonais or Dua Fragrances Plumlicious

good cologne because the drydown is amazing and it lasts a VERY long time. Its just not too good if u want a good top because it takes a good 1 to 2 hours to drydown and do it's magic........like all escada and other high end $$$$$$$$$$$$ scents

Very unique, mysterious, albeit synthetic cologne. If there was ever to be an Abercrombie scent with a night theme, I would imagine it to smell like this. Sweet, fruity, playful and loaded with musk. It's sad to see that it is discontinued.

Opening alcoholic evident, coupled with this, well actually sent the old Cherry Coke. It would be a Cuba libre with Cherry Coke. I really enjoyed and I will have to pro from Ebay because're very difficult to find this perfume.

Smells like grapes. Grapes and vanilla. Vanilla with a little bit of woods. Woods and animals. Animals that like sex. Sex that is good and evil. What I'm trying to say is I love it. It will break your heart. We all like that.
