Escada pour Homme

Escada Pour Homme opens with sour and acidic citruses accompanied by soapy lavender. . In this stage it reminds you classic aromatic perfumes that you've smelled before a lot. . But in the following, it is changed by a sour bitter smell like orange's peel which is mixed by a sweet boozy scent. It makes the perfume aroma different and special and bring it out from the recurrent classic aromatic atmosphere. . Also I can feel patchouli with its earthy and a bit sour smell that reminds me Guerlain Heritage. At the end of story, we have a sweet woody vanillic aroma that has bitter sour orange peel in its lap. . This perfume is something between classic and modern; Its style is masculine and dandy-like and it has a warm cozy smell. . عطر با رایحه بُرّنده ی ترش و تیز مرکباتی به همراه حس گیاهی صابونی لاوندر کارش رو شروع میکنه و در ابتدای راه شمارو به فضای عطرای آروماتیک قدیمی میبره. . اما بلافاصله رایحه ای نمودار میشه که عطر رو از حالت تکراریِ کلاسیک خارج میکنه و فاز رایحه رو تغییر میده. رایحه ای تلخ و ترش مثل بوی پوست پرتقال که در ترکیب با شیرینیِ کشمش مانند و تیزِ الکلی ادویه ای نمود خاص و منحصربه فردی پیدا کرده. . بنظرم نمیشه نقش پچولی رو هم در این عطر نادیده گرفت که با القای کمی حس کپکی مانند فضای رایحه رو به چالش میکشه و کمی هم به ترشی رایحه دامن میزنه. از طرفی پچولی درترکیب با حس آروماتیکِ لاوندری و ترشی عطر لحظاتی من رو یاد هریتژ گرلن میندازه. نهایتا رایحه ی چوبی وانیلیِ شیرینی، پایان بندی عطر رو رقم میزنه که تیزی اولیه ی عطر در اون مهار شده و اون تلخی و ترشیِ پوست پرتقالی رو تو مشتش داره. . اسکادا پورهوم دروازه ای بین عطرهای آروماتیک کلاسیک و عطرهای مدرن و شیرینِ دهه های پیش روی خودشه و همچنین امتیازش شخصیت مستقل و رایحه بکری هست که داره. شخصیت عطر مردانه و رسمیه و طبع رایحه گرمه. به گمانم متاسفانه این عطر دیسکانتینیو شده.

I'd been chasing this Escada Pour Homme as it kept popping up as "this perfume reminds me of....." selections for some of my favorite fragrances. Pacoma Gatsby, Tiffany for Men, Guerlain Heritage, Roja Danger, Tom Ford for Men (I have the Extreme flanker). Finally got hold of a bottle and am several hours into my first wear. I can see some of the similarities with the above named fragrances. Initially on test strip I thought the cognac note gave it just a bit of Le Dandy by D'Orsay combined with a larger dose of Pacoma Gatsby. But now several hours into the actual wear I would vote for a Gatsby/Tiffany for Men hybrid similarity. Not quite as sweet (honey note) as Gatsby and not as powdery as Tiffany for Men, nor does it seem to perform quite as well, although the top notes seemed to have turned somewhat in my vintage juice. It also has a bit of similarity to the earlier Lauder for Men, but not as skanky as Lauder. But imo Escada Pour Homme has no real similarity to Creed Royal Water, Dolce&Gabbana K, nor that much in common with YSL Opium Pour Homme. Since I have both Gatsby and Tiffany for Men ranked high in my collection, I knew I would like Escada Pour Homme, and I do. A very smooth, pleasant scent and right up my alley. My kind of scent profile. Update: This really does have quite a bit of overlap with Tiffany for Men. Update2: The drydown of Mr. Blass by Bill Blass is quite Escada Pour Homme like. If you like Escada Pour Homme try Mr. Blass. It's not discontinued and it's quite inexpensive. I picked up a 120ml bottle cheap. Just spray the heck out of it and enjoy the drydown.

The beginning rises in a rush of bright citrus and aromatic herbs, but almost immediately there is a turn into something denser, almost lacquered, as if a bowl of spiced amber syrup had been warmed near polished wood. The scent feels built for thrill rather than restraint, a 1990s vision of magnetic confidence, when louder meant bolder and being noticed was the point. The middle is where the perfume shows its true face: sweet tobacco, cinnamon-tinged warmth, and a plushness that moves in slow waves. It becomes a kind of velvet curtain, heavy and persuasive, with a sheen of fruits wrapped in spices. There is an almost theatrical quality, the way club lights soften a room and voices turn low. The drydown settles into a thick mix of vanilla, amber, and that unmistakable Escada signature—opulent, creamy, and undeniably sensual. It shares a faint shadow with some of the era’s powerhouse evenings: hints of Drakkar Noir’s swagger and the syrupy depths of 1990s designer seduction, though glossier and more flamboyant. It is a captivating creation, but not an office-safe one. The sweetness clings to the air, and the impression is less tailored suit and more silk shirt at the edge of a nightclub bar, where the music shakes glasses and conversations blur. For those who favor subtle barber fougères, dry vetiver greens, or citrus chypres with architectural tension, this falls on the other side of the spectrum—bold, honeyed, and intent on being seen. A fragrance from a different time, when excess was a virtue and shadows carried heat.

When I was 18, years ago, I realized I needed to grow beyond the Brut 33 gift set I got for christmas annually. I walked into a Saks and headed for the men's counter. When I was asked "What scents do you like?", I was suddenly shook with the memory of a short story where a peevish orphan son discribed the smell of new-found fun-loving drunkard father as a heddy combination of cigars, shoe polish, gin, and cheap aftershave. I asked for the same, but in a good way. Desipte the wince, the saleman I think got the message and produced a bottle of Escada for Men. Despite the qualficiation "It is a bit expensive", I bought the bottle. The selection met my request dead-on. It does initally smell like you bathed in Cognac, but it gives way to a floral and spice notes during the day. In the evening the Cognac comes back, like a cocktail to end the day, topped with a leather and vanilla, hinting a cigar. Morining yeilds to a vanilla and powder scent, soothing your rise to meet the day. Needless to day, I love this scent. It fits me, and I fit it. It can be hard to find, and I hope they never discontinue it....I might need to stock up.

Escada pour Homme, A Rare Vintage Masterpiece 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Long dismissing the Escada name amid cheap mass production, revisiting the house through pour Homme unveils a radiant amber masterpiece. Bucking the convention of dour, serious amber profiles, Escada brims with a synthetic yet complex bouquet of bright florals and spices and sunny happiness. Perhaps an acquired taste for some, but magnetizing compliments nonetheless in an aged spirit transcending "old man" cliches. While performance sits slightly below vintage nuclear potency, the EDT still projects a versatile aura for 8 hours with a moderate sillage. Even one normally shunning sweet scents can't help but fall to their knees before this golden elixir. Tragically, halfway through a humble 40ml, finding a replacement proves doubtful with production long ceased. Yet hope retains of stumbling upon a local perfume shop in a remote city, untouched by trends and filled with vintage holy grails like a bottle of this masterpiece. Should Escada revive their men's line, reproducing this amber floral spice happiness stands paramount.

My, my, this is one classy, sophisticated fragrance. The cognac in Escada PH is done so well, with a slightly sweetened edge to it, that it literally bowls you over. Though cognac is unquestionably the main note at the party, clearly the cast of other notes has been so well-chosen that nothing seems the slightest bit out of place. I was lucky enough to come across this recently enough, though it has been discontinued, and was delighted to have it in my collection. Though a lot is made of Escada Magnestism, the PH also deserves its own praise, possibly even greater. This to me is one of the best 'special occasion' fragrances to wear. It'll go very well with the most highly-dressed man - it's a 'tuxedo-fragrance' in fact. It also knocks all the other contemporary boozy fragrances (you know who you are!) out of the ring. Highly recommended to snap up if you find it around...if you don't like it, you are sure to find many who will.

This Escada has earned its legendary status for good reason; it's irresistibly subtle and masculine. This kind of delicate virility is quite rare in today's perfumery. It opens up with a strong orange infused boozy cognac accord à la Grand Marnier, and gets more complex when the spices (cinnamon, cardamom, caraway, bay leaf) start getting involved. Eventually it dries down to a masterfully blended base of tonka bean, sandalwood and musk. To think this stuff released 30 years ago (by a German designer brand like Escada that is) is absolutely unbelievable. If Roja released this now everyone would be going bonkers and there would not be one reviewer talking about this smelling 'retro' or 'dated'. It's a timeless, everyday type of fragrance (and I don't own many like that), so I just can't praise this enough. My absolute favourite vintage fragrance!

When I got this cologne from a friend, I was surprised with such quality. Is unlike any other that I have, what makes it already special. It's elegant, sober, classic and powerful. I could only think about another scent: Chanel n° 5. I don’t think they are similar...quite the contrary, but the impression I had is that one is married to the other. This one seemed pretty floral, but there was something about it that gave me a fresh sensation in the nostrils and I thought it was mint or something like that. So, I was checking out and it has brandy. Superb!! It is floral, has notes of geranium and carnation; it has patchouli and vanilla - which makes it an oriental – but it’s the brandy with Italian lemon that makes it like this: SO SPECIAL! It's always a pleasant surprise when we win or purchase something blyndly and become satisfied, right?

I used to wear this when it came out and it got me all kinds of compliments. It was very "professional" smelling to me, like what an executive would wear to a boardroom meeting. Elegant, sophisticated and clean, it exudes class and style. I also remember it being fairly strong with killer sillage and it was very long lasting. I am heart broken it is discontinued and I see it goes for $200+ on ebay. It reminded me of something I could not put my finger on, until I looked up Tuscany for Men on here...6 of the same notes! (cinnamon, citrus, caraway seeds, patchouli, lavender and sandalwood) Very similar but Tuscany is more generic and a little soapy. Escada should being this back, there is nothing currently on the market like this (I understand Tuscany is also discontinued)It would sell like hotcakes.

When Escada pour Homme came out I made a blind purchase without any internet back then. After buying this GEM I loved the boozy/warm spicy blend of cognac and cinnamon giving it a animalistic quality. Just recently I found a 100ml bottle and I wasted no time buying it. A really attractive masculine fragrance which is extremely worth having. I absolutely ♥ this old-school juice with vanilla and sandalwood which gives this juice a sweet creamy vib. Longevity and Silage is excellent lasting over 8hrs on my skin. Finally thoughts, I don't regret buying this GEM after many year's later. I use Escada on special occasions...this unique juice has a very distinct aroma which is perfect during the fall and winter months. Rating this easy....MASTERPIECE 5⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

To my nose this one represents one of the last great fragrances of the classic era of male scents. It should be filed along icons such as Aramis, Azzaro, Boss Nr. 1, Cacharel and Zino. It is a fragrance for gentlemen, and I still wonder whether it is now that we associate such scents with men who are 40 years or older, or whether they were defined for mature men in the first place. Either way, at some point in fragrance history the direction changed, perhaps Cool Water marks the turning point. Since then, male scents have become fresher and lighter - which in itself is neither a good nor a bad thing. It's just that this one represents one of the last great fragrances of the classic era of male scents. *****

How wonderful that wonder, I had read several reviews of this perfume and I must say that this fragrance radiates enthusiasm and good humor: sandalwood and the famous liqueur are a scream, a caress infinite from sunrise until the first star of the evening, his life is great and its particular power make this (almost) vintage one of the classic essential, soft, mellow, sweet, sharp, woody, magnetic, spiritual and above all manly. Insofar as the packaging glass bottle decorated with a finely knurled cap gold leafed and a liquid that is amber pure, I am not exaggerating but this fragrance is really a bomb. Seeing is believing.

My grandfather gave this to me as a gift. At first, I didn't try it because, knowing my grandpa, I thought it suited a particular age group a.k.a. old successful people, and definitely male. I prefer scents bordering on the androgynous. When I finally tried it, I was surprised at how amazing it smelled. It generates a pleasant warmth, like that perfect summer day when all is well and everything is right in this world. I felt sad when I learned that this was discontinued. I would have wanted to make this my signature scent. Scent: 10/10 Longevity: 9/10 Sillage: 9/10

It gets no better than this! Finding out this was discontinued broke my heart! My Daddy used to wear this--on him it smelled like a nice, brown leather coat with mink lining the brim of the hood--with the pants and the boots to match. Just lovely! It is the epitome of being 'all dressed up.' My favorite Men's cologne of all time--with Davidoff's Cool Water a close second. I was able to introduce my husband to this fragrance before it was no more. I loved it on him as well. It is a gentleman's scent that exudes class and quality. Escada--BRING it BACK!!!

Before Pure Malt and 1697 and 1270 their was this. A gentlemen's scent magnified and personified to the next level. It might smell outdated if you are under 30 or just got into fragrances this decade but to the fragrance world this is known as a classic. A very animalistic opening dies down to a dramatic boozy well balanced scent. Should be worn on special occasions when you are going out with a lady, not with your friends going to IHOP. Stellar performance in every category.. Another discontinued gem.

Very nice fragrance, I have a bottle of the pre reformulated EDT. It reminds me very very slightly of Rive Gauche PH intense but this is sweeter and smoother. Very classy scent that lasts and projects well, the bottle is really nice too and looks fitting of the scent with the colour of the juice, ribbed bottle and the cap. I got my bottle for a fine £39.99 but seeing others sell in the £200 bracket, crazy!

Again a unisex in fact, but this terminology was not practiced at the time. I personally really liked it. I don't know how it develop on a gentleman and it doesn't matter anymore because it almost impossible to find, but on a woman skin was a soft citrus-floral combination with something spicy and a cold vibe, perfect for a career woman wearing a suit.

Back in the day, I was receive 1ml sample. First impression is very bored and ignore about it until the vial broke, then I realized this is very very sexy,luxurious and keep on its smell in my room for a week! missing this so much. Edit : I found a second hand bottle with friendly price and wow! Nostalgia moment! Can’t stop sniffing this stuff >~

I have a little left from the original scent. It is very opulent and heady. How many weddings, clubs and receptions had this in the air in its day? There is a gorgeous bouquet reminiscent of the great fancy men’s colognes from the 60s and 70s. This smells vintage and grand, but I can understand why some would consider it out of style. I don’t.

It's a shame that Escada has stopped its production of male scents. This is a true classic from the 1990s, and at least I could get hold of a remainder of stock. The first impression is a very lemon-loaded one, but after a while the undertones emerge. This one goes on and on and lasts for hours. Perfect for relatively warm winter days. ****

Escada pour Homme is a very good one from Escada , sophisticated , heavy & manly scent , in my humble opinion it can be wore in a winter night out or at the office ( for me i wear it all day long ). Scent : 7/10. Longevity : 6 to 8 hours. Sillage : 4 hours. Bottle design : 7/10. P.S. that was y first encounter with Escada & I'm glad i did.

Got a sample of this around mid-2000's and, sadly, up to now I cannot find this where I am right now. Cannot forget the scent. Boozy, citrusy, classy and fresh. The cognac, really, is done well. Overall, a smooth fragrance that gives an air of elegance to the wearer.

it`s really a nice classic boozy spicy scent . booziness and spices like cardamom cinamon nutmeg and so on which vanila and slitely citrus noticable. it`s oldschool not dated at all. scent 9/10 longevity 8/10 projection 8/10 versatillity 7/10

unfortunately another precious discontinued stone in perfumery world and this one smell elegance ,allure and class in all his forms .what a man can ask more in a fragrance born to make him feel sexier than ever .. absolutely fantastic

I have the last refomulation, which has also been discontinued. Same as the original but the box doesn't have the gold trim. I had the original. It's not the same. Still good though. Still lovely

Fresh, tart, boozey, sophisticated, casual. Very nice. I’m testing a vintage sample and it’s not loud or long lasting, which I think is expected from this anyway.

I love this on my hubby he likes it too! All the blends are easy on the nose that is why I like it. We are always able to find it value priced at Marshalls!

oceansoflorewi the first eau de parfum for men was Héritage by Guerlain which was released simultaneously with the eau de toilette in the spring of 1992.

This is one of those fragerances that smells classy, elegant and expensive. IMO, it's better suited for a man 30+ because it is indeed a mature smell.

Sweet, herbal, spicy and woody. Almost like the cologne version of Dr. Pepper.

Elegant, refined and smooth. True to its notes. A true classic.

Escada pour Homme once made me feel like I wasn’t privy to an insider secret. Or that there was something fabulous, perceptible only to the cognoscenti, that I, in my clueless noob-ness, didn’t get. Inherited a 40ml travel set about ten years ago and as I don’t remember anyone actually wearing it before it was discontinued, perused the reviews on Fragrantica to see what was in it and what others thought of it. Escada pour Homme is a blend of high quality with a fairly typical evolution. Opening with a bracing citrus with a sweet vaguely boozy cognac (although I wouldn’t have known it was cognac without the cheat sheet), then subdued juniper-spice-floral notes before a vanilla-patch-woody dry down. The overall impression is one of familiarity - that is, it feels familiar but I have trouble identifying and naming exactly what the source of that familiarity is. It’s very pleasant but performance is woeful. Abysmal in fact. Since owning Escada pour Homme I have never actually worn it outside the house, never thought about it, nor have I ever had a burning desire to wear it. I own a couple of other Escada men’s fragrances: Magnetism for Men and Casual Friday both of which I greatly prefer to Escada pour Homme. Magnetism for Men is truly awesome, a beautiful fragrance and one of my all-time favourites, but to be honest I've never understood the hyperbolic praise for Escada pour Homme. It’s nice but given its utterly lamentable performance, at today’s obscene prices it is most definitely NOT a safe blind buy.

Escada is an extremely rich scent, but I think some of the ingredients have cheapened an otherwise opulent brew. It's sweet and boozy, with a little cool fruit and synthetic wood undercurrents. Still, there's something plasticky about the sweetness that puts me off. Tonka (I assume, since it's not quite vanilla) starts to show through as we reach the middle, but the fruit notes, which seemed perfectly ripe earlier, are now overripe, like mango or banana that is beginning to turn and has that slight metallic edge. The oversweetened fruit in the base is what puts Escada just over the line into feminine territory for me. I appreciate the wood notes (though the varnish hasn't dried yet) and even the booze (though it might be a little overbearing) but I've struggled with the fruit component in deciding if I would really want to wear this fragrance. It shouldn't surprise me, though, since fruit fragrances are one of my least favorite families, and I tend to dock points for metallic notes. Finally, close deep sniffing of the sprayed spot yields for me the unmistakable aroma of Elmer's White School Glue. It's non-toxic, supposedly, but rather unappealing.

O my this was a great buy! I have not smelled anyone wearing Escada Homme in a very long time, so I thought I would give it a go. I remember it smelling of an elegant man who has class, morals, intelligence & value! Its smells of an upper class gentelman who walks with his head high! It also smells of a man around the age 40+! Now im in my late 20's but I can pull this off! It is superb!!!! Would be best worn in the cold seasons & rainy days! I will only pull this out for gatherings such as church,meetings or even on a date. The first initial blast I must say it is very unpleasant, smells of urine to me. After about 10 minutes it revolves into a priceless masterpiece with the cognac & mandarin becoming more potent to my nose! There is a breeze out doors & I get a nice whiff of Escada Homme & cant keep from sniffing my hand! & I got this gift set at a terrific deal! The cologne 2.5 oz & the shower gel 5.1 oz for $30! Boy was I pleased!

Escada Pour Homme by Escada. Everything in this scent demands attention. The strength of the Cognac note really dominates the first half of it's lifespan on my skin then develops a sweet almost powdery vanilla with a shadow of the cognac. I would have loved it to be more spicy than sweet to compliment the boozy warmth. I really love the way this smells on my skin but feel as if I need to be older or a least wearing a shirt and tie to match this refined and attention-demanding scent. My girlfriend is not thrilled when she smells it on me, calling it "old drunkard". Can't wear it at work, as I'm employed as an Addictions Counselor. For an older man or woman who wants people to know they are well-to-do and enjoy the occasional indulgent vice. Or apply a bit on yourself, sit by the fire with your loved one and intoxicate them with this opulent oriental-meets-gourmand.

Mr. Ford's Role Model (1993) Scentrack: Jo Stafford - Stardust Today Tom Ford is often a measure for good taste and success. Although we tend to forget he has still to draw inspiration from somewhere. In my opinion, he found the inspiration for his Tom Ford for Men right in this German Escada. The bottle is almost copied, and the scent has the same settled masculinity found in Escada. This Escada is legendary for good reason, subtle undoubtful, yet so sensitive masculinity. The sentimental virility very rare in today's perfumery. Opening is old school, with lots of strong orange, lavender and some liqueur boozy accord. It gets complicated with cinnamon, cardamom, caraway and bay leaf. Finally masterful base of sweet Tonka, sandalwood and musk. Like I've been touched by stardust. The smell of the gentleman, like the man on Escada's advert photos. Rating: 8/10

I haven't used this since I was somewhat drunk last fall. We had a work-related seminar, and I had way too many Gin & Tonic (8 to be exact, that's a lot for me anyway). I rarely get drunk, and when I do, I never forget anything the day after. I stumbled up to my hotel room, and sprayed several times on my neck before rolling down the stairs again to join the others. I was surrounded by girls, and I'm guessing Escada had something to do with it. Although it could be my charming good looks, and personality. I'm guessing it was 90% Escada, and 10% drunken Housebliss. Longevity? 12 + hours. I sprayed the top of my hand before I went to bed, took a shower when I woke up, and I can still smell it on my hand. This is one kickass fragrance.

i remember rockin this one in the mid 90's wore it on a cruise with some buddies downt to ensenada..instead of the love boat it was the drunk boat..but anyway this really attractive lady comes up to me and asks, my god, what cologne are you wearing? i remember how potent and masculine it was, i had the splash..repurchased a few times until i drifted away from it...but i still have a bottle of this..i purchased tom fords for men...i blind bought when it first came out, i loved the advertisement for it..figured it had to be special, so surprised ...thought wow , escada with a little refinement..i think i prefer escada overall...great fragrance..it is for when you want to stand out...love it.

Escada pour homme is an elegant fragrance for young men in suits. But this fragrance is overhyped. The ingredients seem to be mostly synthetic. Cinnamon and Orange are very prominent, but don ́t smell natural, they are very harsh. I tried 2 different bottles to get sure that I was not fooled by an expired fragrance. And it was the same. If I wouldn ́t know that it ́s Escada Pour Homme I would think it ́s a cheap 5 € fragrance. If you are looking for an alternative, try Baldessarini Ambre. I compared Escada Pour Homme with Savile Row (also a very elegant but different fragrance) and the winner is: SR

Why was this discontinued? Ow wait, because it was good. Im already liking this one a lot and its just getting going. Im getting a good dose of cognac with a light cinnamon backround. Very nice! Into the drydown, Im getting a lot of vanilla amber accord. Very nice the whole way through but the drydown has already been done for much a cheaper price. Im a little disappointed now because of the drydown.

I kind ebay seller included a 10% full bottle with my order a year ago and I finally emptied it. This is a pleasant "classy" spicy-woody scent that has good overall performance. It's a little less than masculine, IMO, and maybe one to use for special events and occasions.

Warm, sweet, full, well done scent. On the safe side, you can't go wrong with this. When you think the dry down is gone after a few hours, another dry down settles in (tabacco). Recommended. 8/10
