Escada Sentiment

My mum had a bottle of this in the early 2000s and I used to pinch it when I got older! She never wore it much and I very much enjoyed it, I love iris/violet powdery scents and this is stunning and nostalgic for me. I still have that old bottle and I cherish it, it's still half full and I love wearing it. In terms of the scent itself, it's got a fruity opening, it smells clean and fresh, a little bit shampoo-ey and the dry down is powdery iris/violet, it's sweet and soft. It lasts a good 6 hours on skin and it's very long lasting on my clothes. It does remind me of Guerlain Insolence (which I wore around the same time when it came out in 2006 ish). This is much more soft and polite though! I find this has a certain nostalgia to it for me. Despite being about 14/15 when I would have worn this in the mid 2000s (I'm born in 92), it feels very youthful to a more simple time in my childhood. It reminds me of...the soft, smooth and lightly scented plastic of a my little pony...Barbie dolls...dusty parma violet sweeties eaten out of a white paper bag on the way home from school... Lilac popping bath pearls...the body shop dewberry...lying on my bed and reading teen magazines like Mizz, Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Girl Talk...

There are so many people looking for nostalgia on Fragrantica, myself included. If you grew up in the 80's or early 90's, THIS is your baby. Rather than describe notes, I'll say: it's the roller rink with polished floors and spinning lights during couples skates. It's when Hallmark had a Sanrio display at the mall full of scented erasers and stationary. It's perfume pretty Barbie, Jem and the Holograms, She-Ra dolls, Charmkins and Lisa Frank Binders, It's Kissing potion with the roller, teen spirit deodorant and Aussie Sprunch Spray. It's listening to Debbie Gibson and Tiffany on a pastel colored boom box. It's sneaking out of the house and having your first kiss under fireworks in a summer night sky. All these things and more. I have been looking for nostalgia scents that reminded me of youth since time out of mind and none has done it better than this one. Shot to the heart ;) I highly recommend it and hate that it's discontinued! Get it before the prices are insane. This is the one.

I'm not a big fan of fruity florals, but this scent has a special sentimental value for me - just like its name says! It was the first perfume that I received from my then-boyfriend-now-husband and, despite the cheesy packaging (a pink heart-shaped bottle!), it is a quality scent, much better than your typical candy-floss Escada. The yummy blackcurrants and white flowers are tempered with refreshing citruses, so it is great for everyday use. Unfortunately, this has been discontinued, but I still find it occassionally on eBay - actually, only yesterday I received a brand new bottle and I was reminded how much I enjoy this Sentiment.

I bought this in Paris when it first came out. I wanted a scent to remember Paris with. I had just gotten engaged to my husband, was head over heels for him, and I think this scent wraps the romance of Paris and new love up perfectly. It's sweet, not overpowering, delicate, really. Perfect for every day. There's not much depth, but perfect for a newbie to perfumes, or someone who wants something light and romantic. I wish I could find another bottle that was reasonably priced as I lost my bottle a few years ago in a house fire. It brings back such warm, sweet, youthful memories

Just got mine in the mail today. I like it, very close to love it. It feels prefect for spring. I don’t think it’s childish. I wear perfume for myself anyway, and have a nice selection of different vibes. This will fill in a gap nicely. It sweet, gentle, rainy moist, relaxing, uplifting, and surprising. For me it says magnolia and hyacinth and very little fruit. I don’t smell the powder, but I wish I did. Definitely feels like daywear. This perfume announces for me, I am here but I am in own world. Don't move too fast, or I will flit off like a butterfly. I am busy. 🦋

A little heads up. I ordered a 75ml bottle from ebay a few years ago. I got it and in my nose and remembering, it smell exactly the same as my old bottles. So if it is a copy (most likely..?), it is absolutely fine with me, because I finally got my favorite scent back! I love it so much, and treasure it alot! I also see it is in store in fragrancex now. I have never bought from that site before, as I live abroad, but i see it mentioned all over here so maybe its an ok site? I dont know, just wanted to say my experience with the ebay buy, I am thrilled!

Este perfume lo compre a ciegas solo porque quería un perfume que oliera a barbie. El resultado fue sorprendente, no estoy familiarizada con los perfumes florales pero este se paso! es riquisimoooo! Huele a barbie, romántico, juvenil, fresco, dulce y perdura por horas!! No es el típico olor a flores de señora, definitivamente se gano un 10. La bolleta es hermosa tambien, lejos uno de mis favoritos :D lástima que esté descontinuado.

I still have a bit left in an original bottle from the 90s- the fragrance has definitely morphed over the years, but when I smell it I am instantly brought back to my first memories of it as a child! The first fragrance I fell in love with, before I knew anything about perfumes. I want to order a new bottle, but I’m afraid of the disappointment I may feel if the formula has been changed drastically.

This was my "one and only" for many years, until it suddenly got discontinued, and I never found a favourite again. I still have problems buying perfumes because they can not match this one! I have now ordered a bottle on ebay, hoping it is genuine and in OK condition. It is still my favourite, and I have a few drops in an old bottle I still smell at now and then :)

Absolutely love this fragrance. It's a beautiful floral with a light, fruity air to it. The amber and sandalwood in the finish kept it from floating away into the realm of the obnoxious. All in all, it's a gorgeous, but not unforgettable fragrance. I would wear it again if it didn't remind me of my exfiance so much. It's definitely worth a try.

It kind of smells like stronger and more complex verson of Stella McCartney Pop? That powdery sweetness really reminds me of Pop. This one has a warm feel to it but it’s not a warm fragrance and Pop doesn’t I find this slightly bitter and green in the opening but it settles quickly don’t let that turn you off of it it deserves a chance

Reminds me of Escada S, but is a bit flowery. It is typical pink fragrance. Fresh, fruity floral, powdery and pleasant. It's likable perfume and people around me like it. Recommended for romantic and delicate ladies, no matter their age. Great lasting power! There is something that reminds me of my childhood in the 80s and early 90s.

The two very prominent notes in this are the Iris and Blackcurrants, it's fruity and floral in equal measures, quite heavy, but definitely a quality blend. The powdery vanilla is there in part, but is masked by the louder floral notes, longevity is around 5 hours.

I remember back in 2000 when I first smelled sentiment thanks to a Vogue sample. Love at first "sight"! This scent feels like a promenade through a candy store while holding a bouquet of delicate flowers. My one and only till it was discontinued

The vintage edition I own has great lasting power. A sweet and sparkling melange of flowers, fruits, amber and woods. Wonderful scent, which I didn't stop enjoying for the past 20 something years, due to my stash of backup bottles ;)

I close my eyes, smell this perfume and all I can see is romance everywhere. Romantic fragrance for romantic girls. The staying power is very good and it ́s one of the most beautiful bottles ever! The heart shaped top is cutie!

Pure nostalgia. I wore this perfume in high school. I will own a bottle of this for forever. I don’t wear it often, but it’s the best white floral out there in my opinion. I love this fragrance.

Barbie barbie barbie scent! I loooove ittt

So charming, stylish and original in the gentle realm. It starts sweet and subtle, a little bit green. A scent for a romantic soul. After a while peach and iris start to dominate, and what a spectacular pair it is! I feel also red currant and powdery, earthy orris. A bit of vanilla and rosewood. It is such a lovely, everyday scent. But also to be worn on special occasions. However I feel no occasion would be wrong for it. Ah, the time when Escada was great and created memorable blends. They stopped after Sexy Graffiti and Ibiza Hippie, their ghost still in the annual offerings, the last memorable offer from them is Especially. But this, this is still from the time they expected class, uniqueness and charm from their offerings. Good decision to keep it produced, hopefully forever. I am so happy I received it as a gift, immediately on my love list it goes. Heavenly. Until I start to feel fresh mushrooms scent in it. This lowers it back to like. 2,5h in and it is drowned by the smell of my hair conditioner. I also do not feel it on my blouse. Might be too light. 3 hours later- it is back to peachy-iris and I felt it on myself during a walk, it projects well. It is subtle but memorable. 6 hours -it is fading sweetly, peachy. But I clearly feel it on. Nice.

This review is for a recently purchased bottle, not the vintage. This is tart and soapy-clean. Almost herbal-leaning. It's not sweet or gourmand at all with my skin chemistry. The first hour of wear, it reminded me of Cacharel Noa quite a bit, with a lil spritz of Lalique Amethyst added to it. The currant is what stands out most. I do not get a floral impression, other than some gentle powderiness from the iris-heliotrope-orris combo to calm the tartness, but the tartness wins out. This is very light and easy to wear. After about an hour, I am smelling something familiar. It reminds me of when I used to wear Ormonde Jayne, a hemlock-forward fragrance. It is very green at this stage. Escada Sentiment smells like a cocktail made from an evergreen tree, white bar soap, and squished cranberries. It reminds me of soaping up in a river surrounded by a forest. Refreshing, soft, and relaxing.

I have a very old bottle of this, it used to be clear and now the liquid has turned a slight bit yellow and I've broken the little heart cap by dropping it so many times...but I whipped this out into my rotation for this winter and I'm so happy I did as it still smells amazing and unchanged. For an Escada perfume this is so long lasting and pretty. This is a lovely sweet, powdery floral with a sandalwood dry down...very perfect for days at home cuddling up or running errands. I'm so surprised they ended up discontinuing this, but it evidently wasn't much of a seller for them or it exceeded it's shelf life for Escadas (which in today's day and age seems pretty quick) :(

In my opinion, Escada Sentiment is a year-round, 24/7 fragrance—it is truly that versatile. It is powdery, clean, floral, woodsy, and slightly spicy—the notes are masterfully blended to develop over time instead of being a cacophony of everything all at once. I spray it early in the morning and it greets me with a fresh, clean, uplifting vibe. By mid-day it becomes powdery, soft, and slightly spicy—at this stage, the iris, orris root, and violet notes remind me of its predecesor Loving Bouquet (1999). Towards the end of the day, it turns into a cozy, musky caress. It has good lasting power, and it might as well be a crowd-pleaser.

This Escada is from the time when Escada still was making sofisticated perfumes,not like the fruity candy perfumes like nowdays.This is not fatal woman`s perfume,but it is little sweet,little fresh ,powdey,it is very feminine ,like a crystal beauty.It is very romantic but also i think it is sexy in a very polite way.I like only bombs like addict,Hypnotic poison,Poison,but i dont mind sometimes for a change to put some of this to feel fresh and romantic and just a tender woman,not always like a femme fatal(Addict for example)

On my skin, this is a rich, deep floral perfume with a very small, barely noticeable touch of spice. The sillage is moderate as is the lasting power. A little goes a long way. For me, this scent is deep and complex enough that it is a fall or winter scent. It is not light enough for daytime during the warmer months. However, for spring and summer nights it is perfect, especially for a romantic, elegant date. In a few words: To me, this perfume is a rich and luxurious, deep floral. On my skin, only the dry-down is powdery.

This is such a lovely fragrance and im baffled as to how Escada can discontinue this! Reminds me of perfumes like Guerlains Insolence, Stella Mcartneys Pop (the same bubblegum tuberose) and some 80s perfume I can't quite place my finger on thiugh its quite unique in its own right. Not generic at all unlike Escadas later releases. It starts off fairly "bubblegummy" and ends up"makeup"ey" and powdery towards the drydown. I'm happy I brought it because of its lasting and nostalgic power. ❤

I have had this since I was in high school, I haven't run out of it, I like it, it's a nice, girly, and soft scent, and long lasting. I don't find it fruity, I think it's more florally and powdery sweet. I think Sentiment is discontinued, but I have seen it in Marshalls or Ross, at a very reasonable price.

I had this 16 years ago but its strange that I have seen this crop up recently all of a sudden on a lot of discount fragrance websites and I am wondering whether it is the genuine article? If so does escada still make this fragrance or is it under production of another company?

I have a small bottle of this scent. It is very sweet so it doesn't get too much play from me, but I enjoy it from time to time. Very nice on a summer day when you don't mind bringing out your sweet side.

Refreshing, jovial, happy and spontaneous fragrance, I see it for all ages, from a 12 y.o. girl to an older woman, the only essential thing to use it is to love tropical and happy fragrances.

One reviewer said this smells like "something you could get at Avon". I am dying to know which Avon scent Sentiment resembles because I can't think of any!!

The only fragrance by Escada I like, and I really like it! It's girly and sweet, but not too sweet. I got a lot of compliments while wearing it.

I love it. Last a long time, dry down is very clean, fresh and ambery. I used to wear this in the early 2000's. Brings back great memories.

Nice and safe fragrance.nothing unique. I get red currant and peach.less vanilla. It doesn't make any impact,just a pretty fragrace

I have it, I wear it from time to time. Isn't one of my favorites, it is rather sweet for me, but for the summer it is ok.

Didn't think I would like the little sample I got but when I wore it to work I got many compliments.

This is a pretty nice fragance. But it has to be spritzed on very sparingly, just 1 or 2 sprays.

Super sweet and juvenile. I loved it in my early 20’s but doesn’t evoke the same feeling and joy in my 40’s. Has a short life on the skin and easy to overuse.

Soapy, light fragrance for very young girl.

I have a nice selection of perfumes for varying reasons as fragrances definitely influence my mood. This fragrance is pleasantly...boring. Yup a total snooze factory and this is a good thing. I smell this and think about a girl who has showered and has "paper clips" on her shopping list. This is totally acceptable because sometimes I am that girl. Not all scents need to be provocative or even interesting. Zzzzzzzz

Sweet and light, but still not the nicest one. Peach, currants and powdery iris make a weird composition. Currants are sugary sweet, not aromatic. Peach is also very sweet. I'm not sure that this one is similar to the Gucci's Flora, but I dislike it for the same reason. It's sweet sugar water.

All I can say about this fragrance is the following: - poor sillage - poor lasting power - sour and not sweet at all - bottle is way too tall and often falls over. I thought this was going to be sweet and fun seeing peach and heliotrope but all I get is a musty soap smell. No thanks.

I really don't care much for this scent. It smells like something a tween would wear. I absolutely love fruity florals, but this is a disappointment. Initially, it's very sharp. After it calms down it's tolerable, but invokes a gag or two. I am so happy I only have a sample.

I didn't like it much either, too ordinary. It's not too bad , I'd wear it if it was given to me as a gift, but I wouldn't buy it for myself.

Another sweet perfume without a particular identity.It was given to me as a present but soon I found out it was not my taste.

Escada Sentiment made its way into my collection through a friend when I was gifted her unloved bottle late last year. I hadn't smelt it prior to being given the bottle, so I really didn't know what to expect. Escada as a brand doesn't usually appeal to my tastes as I'm not someone that enjoys overly fruity and sweet fragrances, however Escada Sentiment is rather lovely, one of the better scents from this house. My bottle in its second-hand condition was starting to change colour, so I in turn began to use it more regularly. Escada Sentiment works extremely well in the colder months, projecting a beautiful floral, sweet and musky aroma. The strongest notes to my nose include iris, berries, vanilla, sandalwood, hyacinth and musk. It's a very smooth scent on the skin, neither too fruity nor too sweet. It can also smell a touch powdery at times. I have recently emptied my bottle of Escada Sentiment and I must admit I'm surprised at the rate in which I used it all up. For what it's worth I gave it more love than its previous owner did. In terms of quality the longevity is great and the sillage average. As far as I know Escada Sentiment has been discontinued but that's no surprise especially for an Escada scent.
