Especially Escada

This perfume is something like eternal love for me, sometimes I am unfaithful with other ones :-), but after certain time I come back again and again and fall in love with it new. It' s also one of a few perfumes, which I bought repeatedly (I have approx. 30 different bottles, I think). Why does Especially conquer my heart? Well, one of the reasons, but for me quite important, it doesn't cause me a headache. I have so many perfumes (majority, unfortunately) by Dior, Chanel, Lancome etc. standing on my shelf almost without being used, because they trigger horrible migraine by me :-(. So luckily , this one doesn't do, even in the summer. It's definitely a suggestion for people with similar problems, give this Escada a try! How would I describe it? Actually, the name meets also my opinion - for me it's really unique and special - I have many perfumes (even really expensive by top brands) that I divide into groups - similiar to J'Adore, Trésor-like etc. This one stands for me proudly on special position - it is feminine, but not heavy-sweet-vanilla (which I don't like so much, but there are plenty like this), it is clean and somehow fresh, but without going to masculine or sharp-cologne edge (this is my problem by Light Blue or MK Sporty Citrus). It's not some generic-aquatic you have already smelled 100x before. It's compared with Versace Bright Crystal, I can partly understand, but Escada is much much better. BC has this almost masculine touch on my skin plus gives me headache, altough it's not so heavy. So for me: classy, elegant, modern and very unique perfume, which lets you breathe and enjoy the day.

What a happy surprise. It's been many years since an Escada fragrance has captured my attention. I'd given up on their scents some time ago. I received a sample mini of Especially and I gave it a spritz. This is nice! It is a fresh rose ylang-ylang fragrance that's extremely easy to wear. It's along the lines of L'Occitane Rose 4 reines. Very pretty, light and feminine. I love rose and I'm always thrilled when rose loves me back, and Especially is a good one. EDIT: Today I'm wearing Especially and I keep getting a "scent memory" - one of those where you know you've smelled it but you just can't put your finger on it. I kept getting this vision of myself driving in NY with a heavy scarf around my neck, circa 1989...and darned if that vision didn't bring back what I seemed to be smelling. Of all things...I'm nearly certain it's vintage Finesse shampoo/conditioner! I don't know if Finesse is even around anymore, but I remember it used to perfume my hair and the scent was so strong. But I loved it. I'm sure Especially doesn't smell that much like some old shampoo, but something in Escada defintiely touched upon whatever part of my brain subconsciously recorded an episode of driving 22 years ago!

Especially is not yet another generic floral fragrance. It has that unusual semi sweet-watery note infused with sensual ambrette seeds, delicious pear and fresh florals. Especially starts off rather fruity; it feels like honey coloured pear nectar dripping off my chin. Soon after, it mellows into sensual ambrette seeds and soft petals, still, the semi sweet-watery note is present all the time making it feel soft and refreshing. Especially has a similar feel to Attimo and Attimo L’Eau Florale and I am confident that you will like Especially if you like these. The juice colour does reflect the fragrance spirit; playful, happy, feminine, cheerful, uplifting. Especially is spring in an elegant bottle. The lasting power and silage are both decent; I feared that Especially would not survive half a day at work but it does linger nicely on my neck for 6 hours and it is noticeable by my work colleagues. Perfect spring / summer fragrance. Well done, Escada!

I ask myself why it took me so long to write a review, well I adore this scent. I am little dissapointed with sillage and staying power but if I will ignore those two things I can ́t say bad word about that. I ́ve never smelled something similar, so it ́s great. The pear gives the scent little juiciness and sweetness. This part is really girly and innocent for me. Then I can smell lot of roses and some water. Roses with water and ylang ylang are slightly pungent and that smell so great. The dry down is damn gorgeous. Rosy-musky and I can still smell hint of pear. Escada makes mostly sweet scents full of fruit but this one doesn ́t go this way. It ́s floral,little sweet, watery, musky scent. I can imagine it on happy, playful, desirable girl/woman who doesn ́t want to bring attention but which wants to be herself and wants to attract a man who is in her nearness and the woman is for him even more desirable than she was before. Just IMHO =D

This makes me feel 18 again. It is everything I long for in a good Parfum: lifts me up instantly, a breath of fresh pale pink blooming garden roses after a summer rain. The sun is shining again, everything is good, peacefull and calm. The bliss of knowing all is and will be well. The world is your oyster. Like a nice tight hug from your beloved Mama. Pure joy and tranquility. This to me is "narcotique" in the best sense possible. Thank you Monsieur Durier, it is not easy to create something simple yet beautyful and classic. Classic Beauty in a bottle. You can't help but fall in love with this. If I had to choose one out of my vast collection as my only one for every day and occasion - this would be it! A precious piece of art.

This is the FIRST perfume that I bought (in 30ml) when I was “big” enough to be allowed to own one 🤣. I was 17 then. 10 years later, I’m on my second bottle (50ml) and I still have a (75ml) bottle as back up, since it’s rare in my country now. It’s a very inoffensive scent: light and rosey. Good for the day and can be easily worn at night too. I like wearing it during Summer since I live on an Island, it gets really hot & EEscada isn’t too much. But I believe you should love rose fragrances to like this one. Even though the notes are in good harmony, the rose is still dominant. . I may be biased since it was my first perfume, but it’s beautiful. Lol

This is fresh fruity floral. Dont be put off if you dislike rose based perfumes! The balance is just right fresh and classy, I find it creamy pear with a hint of gentle rose with a hint of muskiness towards the latter end of the day. It's not overpowering but definite gets compliments so the silleage is there. Longevity for me is 4-5 hrs i can smell it on my seatbelt on the way home and the day after if i wear a different scent. This makes me feel feminine and gorgeous, a classy perfume for most occasions. I would suit any occasion/company and I doubt would cause offence as it is not in your face just beautifully there!

Escada Especially is wonderful perfume. This is one of my favorites. The scent is very fresh, but sophisticated, feminine and sexy. It is very joyful and vibrant, at the same romantic. When I use the EE, I feel confident and sexy. I sense there: fresh, delicate notes of roses and water, juicy fruit and something sharp like bergamot or red pepper. Unfortunately, the smell is not too long. It is noticeable about 2-3 hours on my skin, and much more on clothes and hair. I think this fragrance is for a young woman who loves herself and is optimistic. For me, the best in winter, on a sunny, frosty and snowy day ....

When I saw Especially - I thought it is pink and rosy perfume -again and boring. I would add that I was looking for something spring. Crossed the shelf between Dior, Chanel, Gucci, etc and looked at Escada and...That's it! Captivating, unique, incredibly feminine and sexy. My husband also shared my enthusiasm. Escada positively surprised me. I was afraid to a little bit this rose, but thanks to water notes smell is not the one rose dominated. I do not feel pear. The ambrette seeds? I've never heard of, but they can make the smell is so beautiful and unique, you want to smell it and smell ...Cute bottle :)

Never been Escada fan not since the RockinRio's...but yesterday I saw this beautiful bottle of Especially Escada..fallin in love for the first time and bought it along with the Escada Delicate :D Both are smells so beautiful!! Not that unique nor complicated but still..pretty! Not overly sweet like any other Escada fragrances. Not as dark and as deep as Nina Ricci's and won't giving you a headache :D The longevity is poor tho...too poor till I realised that my Mothercare baby lotion was staying longer than EE :(

I'm a sucker for Escada, what can I say...:) This particular one is a lot less sweet than many of the Escadas that have been marched out lately, and for me that is a good thing since I really don't care for sugary scents. Yes there is a hint of fruit in this (and what Escada doesn't have that???!) but the fruit in no way over-powers this scent. I mostly smell rose and the oceanic/watery notes. I think this is a frag that wouldn't offend anyone if worn in public. I like it a lot.

oh, I love this fragrance so much. It is fresh, but the freshness is mild, airy and without citrusy sharpness. I detect pear, rose and notes that I didnt smell before. Could be ambrette seeds. To me this is special fragrance and makes me feel very feminine EDIT I usually apply fragrance in my hair. And this one lasts 4 hours which is not bad, because all of my fragrances (floral-fruity type) have no great lasting power. With this fragrance get compliments very often. LOVE IT

<3 I am still over the moon about this precious piece since my discovery 3 years ago. I fall for rose fragrances, and here I like the aquatic feel of it, it's so pretty and uncomplicated. Reminds me of childhood memories walking through my grandmothers rosegarden in dawn, petals covered in morning dew. People probably miss the charm of delicate florals, and it’s easy to skip over interesting ones if it doesn’t shift something in you immediately after first impression.

Not very long lasting, but it will surprise you hours later wafting up out of nowhere. This perfume holds a special place in my heart. It defines the summer that I met my now boyfriend of 3 years and brings up all of the fond memories. So, I'm not sure if I like it so much because of that, or because of the scent! Soft, unassuming, sweet, and pretty. Worth a try and one of the few perfumes I've ever repurchased.

I am not very impressed about the bottle, it looks like a glass brick with a pompous "bling-bling" top. However, even though the package isn't exactly eye candy, that detail can be forgiven for one simple reason. And that is: the fragrance itself is absolutely adorable, very summery and playful and delicate cocktail of flowers and fruity undertones. It is a classic floral and just perfect for daily wear.

I love it! It's fresh, green, young, sexy; but it isn't a common fragrance. Indeed, it's sophisticated, yet wonderful for everyday use, for a night out and also for a special occasion. Its roses are not 'old lady': this is a new way to smell a fresh, wanderful bunch of roses, full of dew..IMO.. Edit: this perfume loves warm weather. On summer, it is very longlasting and it's got a very good sillage.

I try this in drugstores and is the most beautifully feminine scent. It is like a bowl with rose petals and fresh water. I don't think that smell chemical at all. Is pretty comfortable. It is not air freshener scent , like other roses fragances, is a clean fragrance but is not like shampoo . I feel this very natural and juicy .Seems to be very persistent on skin .I'm thinking seriously buy it.

Really don't go for floral scents usually, especially not rose, but found myself really drawn to this one. It's a seemingly inconspicuous combination of rose, pears and musk, but it works and makes it more interesting than your usual flowery summer scent. It's not very long-lasting, but it's very elegant and feminine, so worth it. It's become my summer signature scent

I fell in love with this fresh, simple scent. I think I could easily wear it every day and not get tired of it. The pear, rose, musk and ambrette makes for a heavenly combination, and moreover, it's a modern perfume without vanilla or patchouli - YES. To me, not that similar to Moment de Bonheur, which is also very pretty but doesn't have that sweet finish.

To the person who asked- the balloons mean someone agreed with you I think reading the reviews, this perfume must change according to the acidity of the wearers skin, as so many people love or hate it. I love it ,Im getting Musky rose, and its about 5 hours since I sprayed it..... It smells seductive and feminine, expensive and unusual..... I love it

In my opinion this is the best thing from Escada since Magnetism... I am not a fan of the fruity summer editions (though I did enjoy Moon Sparkle). It has a lingering effect and has more of a wide age range possibility that the summer scents. It is riminiscent of Bright Crystal but it last longer and drys down better than the Versace.

A very pretty, fresh, rose based floral. This is a refreshing change from the sweet fruity lineup of scents that Escada produces. I like those too, but this is a great departure. I can see the similarity to Chloe but I prefer this because it's softer than Chloe to me. This reminds me of pink roses and lingerie shops.

i love this perfume. its not that kind of scent that will make a statement and will not offend anyone. only those who invade your personal space can smell this amazing scentl of you. this is perfect for a date. and men do love this scent. its very rosey and light with a hint of sweetness. very girly and romantic.

In love!! Rose, water notes, pear and musk are what I am picking up mostly. I would categorize this as a fruity floral, not just a floral. If you are not into fruity fragrances, you might not like this one! Edit: I really picked up the almost bananaish ylang-ylang today, made me love this beauty even more :).

Funny thing is, It doesn't last for long , but people around can still feel it - that's my main problem with many fragrances. I tried it on my hair, and it seems like it stays longer than on my skin. If only it could stay longer - it could be my best fragrance

I love it in the bottle, but on my skin smells synthetic and soapy after a while. It's nothing special, but very pleasent and wearable. For me it's Versace Bright Crystal mixed with Avon Be...Kissable.It's a soft, bright, happy floral fruity for everyday use.

Just got this for my 21st such an amazing perfume ... I thought it was another friuty floral but this is surprising as its very unusual which I did not expect! Would definately recommend you try it! I have been given so many compliments wearing this ...

A very crystalline rose scent, if that makes sense? Watery, fresh and floral all at the same time, then gets softer and sweeter over time. Doesn't last a super long time, but I still love it for spring. I find it uplifting and energizing.

Oh, what a lovely scent! Very watery, with quite a lot of Rose in it. Also some Ylang-Ylang and TONS of pretty Musk that helps this perfume along to my no.1 favourite!!! Also a nice bottle. One for definete purchesing!!

This is one of my favourites. I smelt this and had an ah ha moment where I had smelt perfume on someone during my childhood and it struck a chord with me. I love it. I use it sparingly because I don’t want it to finish!

This isn't your grandmother's rose scent, it's like fresh roses after spring rain. I got a sample from Sephora and I can't stop sniffing myself. Also even my husband's peculiar sense of smell gets roses on this one.

i like this perfume i can really smell the rose + musk out of it. really good for mabye a dinner party or another occasion- i mean a REALLY good occasion!! lets hope no one is allergic to it! 10/10 :):):):):):)

I have to review this again. I think I could love this dewy scent if I sprayed a ton of it. Very nice and refreshing with a very nice interpretation of rose. LOVE. I normally like the monsters.

I tested it today in Superdrug and I love it! Probably the best fragrance from Escada ever. I don't feel any rose in it, maybe I'm just crap. This will be my next purchase. For sure.

Fresh, flirty scent. Fruity but not too sweet like many Escadas summer parfumes are. I can smell pear and rose scent too but rose scent is not so powerful. My spouse like this one :)

I got way more than an hour out of this one. This is lovely - softly (yet distinctly) a memorable floral! When the bottom notes hit its even more beautiful. Definately worth trying.

I love this simple inoffensive, juicy pear with roses and musk. This is very fresh, easy to wear and comfortable. The bottle is beautiful and well done. Great value for the money.

I think this is a nice fresh and floral perfume, and for certain, I love it so very much ;)) I bought it in a perfumery at Raufoss Amfi, it was love at first sniff :))

Very dewy and fresh being the heart of the fragrance, mixed with watery accords sensual ylang-ylang flowers. Not too strong but lasts.

I reviewed this 3 years ago, nearly to the day: then, it was a hot Texas spring BBQ in a sundress. Now, it's a cool, rainy California workday. My response then was a luke-warm "it's nice"; with the cooler weather, my response has warmed a bit--this is a lovely, fresh but not squeaky-clean spring scent. It's roses and pears and sunshine. It claims to have "water notes" whatever that means; it is not the same as an "aquatic scent." On my skin, aquatics stay way too aloof and distant, too tinny and shallow. With this, I think it's the addition of the musk and ambrette that give a lovely, lightly-fleshy, very feminine (but not too girly) vibe. It settles better into my chemistry--I tend to enjoy musks and love when a scent makes me smell "like me only better" rather than smelling like something simply layered on top of skin. This scent blends more than I expected or remembered of it. The musk and ambrette, along with the ylang-ylang, impart a tiny hint of powder, just a dusting, and combine to almost give the illusion of heliotrope. The pear gives a fruitiness that is mellow, simple and in itself lightly floral--very different from some fruity fragrances which rely on the jamminess of berries. The pear and rose notes make it a "fruity floral" of a completely different character--not girly, but not too serious either, lighter than many fruity florals but not as aloof as many simple florals. The bottle to me is a bit discordant. The bottle is of the "bright crystal" ilk--bold, heavy, "department store eye candy". To my nose, this fragrance should be bottled in something tall and elegant, something maybe like an elongated pink glass pear. A comment on longevity: this lasted well over 8 hours on my skin, after a simple roller ball application onto wrists and the back of my neck. I decanted it out for in my gym bag and possibly the roller ball is just a better mode of application. In any case, even at the end of the work day it was still quite distinct. Could be my musk-loving chemistry; curious if those who experienced poor longevity were those looking for an aquatic. Something to consider. This was lovely.

I received a sample of this, and I’ve been using it for a couple weeks now. The initial opening is roses, roses, roses! I love roses, so I inhaled the scent deeply and could practically imagine I was walking through a lush rose garden. After about 10-20 minutes, I smell delicious watery pears breaking through. Once the pears come through, the roses start to fade and the pears just grow stronger. This fragrance is basically pear, rose, and water notes, but the simplicity doesn’t compromise the pretty scent. It makes me want to take a leisurely walk through a garden and a refreshing dip in the pool at the same time. This fragrance is perfect for spring/summer, and wearing this in the winter puts me in a cheerful, bright state of mind. It smells pretty linear. There’s no dramatic transformation—just watery pears and roses. Down to its last half hour, there’s some musk but not much. It’s a daytime, casual scent. It doesn’t smell expensive or sophisticated, but youthful and girly. There’s something about it that sort of reminds me of Tocca Bianca, but livelier and with pear. My biggest complaint is that the sillage, projection, and longevity is rather weak, which is why I would give it a 4 instead of a 5. After approximately 3-4 hours, I have to put my nose directly to my wrist just to catch the faintest whiff of it; I find myself reapplying this scent often in a day. I’m still debating with myself on if I should buy a full bottle or not—I really, really like this scent, but I wish it lasted longer. 4/5
