Taj Sunset

I'm addicted to mango as well as peaches, and am slowly getting my hands on every one in the market. This one is really good in a sea of disappointments. A vacation in a bottle, great for spring/summer, or when you are feeling "fruity." I get lots of mango, peach (even though it's not a note), raspberry here and there, with a creamy coconut base appearing for cameos. It's sweet, but not overly so, balanced by the tartness of some citruses and the mellow basenotes of water lily (turning her ever so slightly aquatic), sandalwood and musk, softening her and making the dry down really beautiful. She layers beautifully with Creed virgin island water if you want to transform her into a mango margarita, or Narcisco pure musk, if you want to highlight her softer more woody side but sugar it up a bit. Does she last? No. On me, 2-3 hours, which isn't great, but it's pretty standard for her price point and competitors. I got a tester (probably the newer version, but who knows) for $24.99 at a perfume discounter (joma), so I'm not mad at respraying a few times a day. Ok, yeah, I'm slightly annoyed though. Aphrodite currently occupied my top mango pick, as she has a lot better longevity.

BEACH IN A BOTTLE!!! After Pacific Paradise was released and soon out of stock, in my country at least :( I kept wondering when an Escada ́s summer version would ever thrill me as much as it did!! Year after year I kept waiting and the ones that came up right away were, well..... Bleh!!!boring..... Even though Moon Sparkle was such a Hit, well I ́m more into tropical fruit scents than berry ones. When Taj Sunset appeared on the shelves, I was no exited at all, but still I decided to give it a Try and take a sniff... OMG!!! this is just what I was expecting for...tropical blast in a bottle, so fruity juicy yummie you get the mangoes straight but in a mango sherbert way wich i love, peach is noticeable as well as blood orange with it ́s delicious tangy effect to it. the thing I love the most is that beachy coconuty trail it carries... a bit like suntan oil but much more subtle. anyway I give it and 8.5 out of 10 only because of a little lack of staying power. So If you like fruity- tropical ,full of fun and easy to wear frags, Well GO FOR IT!!! Regrets-proof.

I love this. I think I marked it as "dislike" mistakenly in the past. I remember sniffing this at Ulta in 2011 and being put off by the price. It really is beautiful, syrupy fruit with a touch of floral (the tiniest bit) and a subtle pinch of slightly powdery sandalwood. The non-fruit notes make it smell like the most heavenly orange-y fruit shampoo (especially the mango, blood orange, and apple) based on a cocktail rather than a cocktail. It is almost edible and so pretty. It's up there with Born in Paradise and Sorbetto Rosso 😍 This sounds weird, but the scent really matches the "vibe" of my Desert Essence Red Grape Shampoo and Conditioner (heavenly!) with its vibrant, deep fruitiness. I do not detect a "grape" note in Taj Sunset though. This packs a punch and I think can be used year round. EDIT: I am so sad! I only used this a couple times over the past few months and think it turned on me. Someone else described a "dusty celery scent" in Island Kiss and I wonder if that happened to me. For what it's worth, Ghadeer by Swiss Arabian looks similar.

I was looking for an uplifting happy scent with blood orange note, something cheaper than Orange Sanguine by Atelier Cologne ....then, the name TAJ SUNSET caught my eyes. The name reminds me of the exotic, nostalgic sunset with fishing boats at the Arabian sea by the Taj Mahal palace hotel near the Gateway to India in Mumbai. Thanks to the second reviewer from the bottom pointing out that ESCADA is now owned by an Indian lady ....now that I’m sure TAJ SUNSET is somewhat related to my favorite country India. To be honest, TAJ SUNSET projection is quite strong for me ....it’s almost like an edp version of The Body Shop MANGO which is a little more natural smell btw. I try to be careful not to over spray. TAJ SUNSET always cheers me up whenever I feel lost or uncertain of my life. The tropical creamy mango and bright happy blood orange notes quickly change my mood letting me remember the hardships that I have overcome. I’m so happy I will always have TAJ SUNSET within reach.

This is a tropical, mango-ey, beach-side-fruity-cocktail drink perfume through and through. This is my personal favorite of the Escada summer fragrances at the moment (I have owned/tried Moon Sparkle, Rockin' Rio, Sexy Graffitti and Born in Paradise), because it's sweet, but not headache-inducing (I am not a gourmand person), and the mango note is the strongest note by far. If you like mango, you'll love this. I would say that it is closest to Rockin' Rio. There isn't much development in the scent, meaning I don't really smell any of the more floral/woody/musky scents, even hours into wearing the perfume. The lasting power is decent, but not incredible; I can spray this around 5PM and still smell it only myself when I sniff my wrists at 10PM as long as I'm not doing too much and running around all night. Overall, I think it's a really nice, girly, summer fragrance, and I would recommend it to a friend.

When I was 10, I received a sample of this from Sephora when i was buying my blue sparkly eyeliner and lipgloss. I was OBSESSED. It was the best thing I ever smelled, and I cherished that little sample vial. Over the next decade, I'd think about that sample every so often and try to remember what it was, until I finally looked through Fragrantica for mango fragrances released around that time. I found it. And what convenient timing, as they'd recently rereleased it too. It smells exactly as good as I remembered! A juicy, sweet tropical Tiki bar mango drink! Unashamedly bright and girly. Whenever I smell this, I'm immediately on a beach with the sun on my skin and a fruity drink in my hand. I fucking love this fragrance. If you don't like this, I will fight you. Or politely ask you to send me your bottles, I'll gladly take 'em off your hands.

Taj Sunset smells like a pinneaple-mangoish lollipop to me. It is uncomplicated, breezy and tropically straightforward. I know there is no pinneaple in this one but on my skin it starts out with this juicy note, followed by mango and blood orange. The water lily is there and prevents a fruity tanginess overload from happening on my skin. I also get a cherried jolly rancher like quality during drydown, but maybe it is just my crazy nose...I get no raspberry, nectarine, sandalwood, musk or any of the other scent notes listed. I'm glad I read your reviews exposing all the animal cruelty, and I will purchase a FB for sure, but I'm getting a cruelty free replica instead. Longevity is very good considering this is a 100% fruity juice, and the throw is amazing, it really gets out there...

Tropical summer vacation in a bottle! Delicious, sweet, juicy, fruity, bright, exotic, tropical, fun, summery fragrance! Taj Sunset is like a fruit cocktail! It reminds me of being on holiday at a tropical beach or sitting by the pool sipping a cocktail drink! The most prominent note I smell is Mango! Very, very juicy! I thought I could also smell peach ? But then I realised peach isn’t listed in the notes. It later mellows out into a warm woody vanilla drydown. The only downfall is that it doesn’t last very long on my skin. But I love this scent that much that I happily reapply throughout the day. It is great for everyday use in the summer and holidays at the beach! I also like the very colourful bottle! It adds colour to my collection!

I think they brought this back because today I saw Taj Sunset sold as new with the 2014 Escada summer scent. I'm so glad to see this one back because it's such a yummy fragrance. For me Taj Sunset is the summer sun in a bottle. Taj Sunset makes me happy when ever I smell it. It truly is like spraying some gorgeous burning orange sunset on your skin, but I don't really imagine this specific sunset setting in Taj Mahal. I have always pictured a tropical island with white hot sand, and palm trees on the beach of crystal clear waters. I can smell a lot of tropical fruits in this but I think they're so well blended that I personally can't name any. The sillage is just right for a summer fragrance, not too strong, not too weak.

The juiciest mango ever! It's not a parfume. Just pure juice to pour on you :) So refreshing and uplifting! It makes me feel like an exotic fruit in human disguise or like a beach bikini girl shaking her bon-bon around :))))) It turns my winter busy day at the office into a careless summer night out. Warning: It can smell a bit sour in dusty closed spaces with no fresh air. And you should keep your self sweat free while wearing it. Any acidity added to this fragrance can mean disaster. This fragrance is not a masterpiece, but it has magic. Unfortunately all the magic has gone after I red the posts below. ANIMALS SHOULD NOT PAY FOR HUMAN VANITY !!! Hands off please!!!

That was my signature scent for years. The opening is quite sweet and fruity, and then it settles as light, pleasant musky fruity floral with a hint of the coconut. I get mostly the raspberry and a tiny bit of the water lily. I've received numerous compliments, so it's safe to say this one is a crowd-pleaser. Very inoffensive, comforting and easy to wear fruity-floral scent. Very light and pleasant, to me it's not suitable only for the warmer seasons, despite the notes. Maybe because it develops quite musky and ever so slightly powdery on me. Longevity is very good - pretty much all day. Projection is moderate.

I ordered 3 Escada summer fragrances. Sorbetto Rosso, Miami Blossom and this one. I wasn't sure I did a good thing, because for a light Eau de toilette those wasn't the cheapest. But immediately after they arrived, I knew I would not regret. This one is a hot summer evening in the bottle. I get a little sunscreen, a lot of fruit and this one is strongest of 3. I really love it. And the bottles look gorgeous all together. I'm very happy with this purchase. But I feel like those fragrances are more just for my nose, I don't think people around me will smell it much, unless I really overspray.

Taj Sunset starts off with a blast of Candied mango, which segues into a cross between Britneys Midnight Fantasy and some other fragrance I've worn which could be something from Escada, Juicy Couture, Victorias Secret or another celebuscent from the early 2000s to late 2010s. It's tropical, lightly sweet with a hint of sandalwood and musk. It's a lovely summer time scent and it's great for fun carefree days at home and out. Lasts around 6 hours with a close proximity scent bubble, (which is perfect for a scent like this, as it is not intrusive). 8.5/10

Mango, some citrusy notes, coconut and a hint of watery notes, this is what I get. Bright and sweet! I would pair this with a coconut body lotion or something with sandalwood to be a bit more sophisticated. If you want to smell like a candy shop, layer this on Lush Snow 🧚🏻♀️ fairy or on a mango body butter. The sillage and longevity is better than in many other Escada summer scents. I have the original 2011/2012 edition and it has not lost it’s potency. This is what I would grab with me on a vacation in Brazil or the Caribbean.

Mango in a bottle for sure! I do want a mango scent, and this is sweet in a fresh way, meaning i guess that this will suit well to wear on really hot days ( not tried in warm weather though ). I dont really get much more from it than mango, and thats ok for its use :) however, it is super weak. You will need to reapply often. Might react different in heat though, but I tried bali paradise on one arm, and this on the other, and the bali one was much stronger! This is sweeter and weaker, bali is greener and fresher.

This is summer in a bottle to me. Juicy & sweet like peaches. Literally makes my mouth water. This will take you poolside sipping your favorite summer cocktail, to your ultimate tropical vacation fantasy, feeling the ocean breeze in your hair, a hibiscus flower behind your ear... just relaxing in the warmth of the sun, watching turquoise ocean waves come in to kiss the shore. Ahhh I love this so much! Beautiful, sweet, sunny, tropical juiciness. The bottle is so pretty too. This is a definite must have for me.

I had a version of Composition of this perfume not the original bottle but, very beautiful fruity tropical sweet perfume even in Composition. This perfume will be more suitable in summer or during the day. It lasts 6-8 hours on the leather and one day on the clothes. كان لدي نسخة تركيب من هذا العطر، وليس الزجاجة الأصلية، ولكنه عطر حلو استوائي فاكهي جميل جدًا حتى في عطور التركيب. سيكون هذا العطر مناسبًا أكثر في الصيف أو أثناء النهار. يدوم من 6 إلى 8 ساعات على الجلد ويوم واحد على الملابس.

I remember absolutely loving this as an 18-year-old, knew it was discontinued, so I was quite surprised that Fragrancex was still selling it - naturally I had to have it. Might be the nostalgia factor, but I still love it, a very sweet syrupy mango and nectarine scent. Lasting power is not great, about 2-3 hours. I will be happy to wear it this summer again after several years, probably lazing around in the garden after a work week, enjoying a nice glass of Aperol Spritz.

Being obsessed with mangoes and anything Taj Mahal, I knew I had to pick this scent up as soon as I saw it on the shelves. I definitely don't regret it! This is a juicy, sparkling mango scent with subtle nuances of orange, raspberry and sandalwood (as far as I can detect). I can imagine this working brilliantly in summer and spring, however, one could also use the delicious warmth of this perfume in winter. Good job with this one, Escada!

I adore this fragrance! A perfect blend of tropical fruits and sweetness. Smells exactly like a mango drink and I’ve got multiple compliments for it as well! I don’t get any flowers from it at all. The most prominent note is mango, but upon the initial spray I also get a slight citrus smell from the blood orange. It also stays on me for about 5 hours or more so the longevity is okay! Might want to reapply it during the day though.
