Molecule 01 + Ginger

First impression: Nice citrusy ginger, feels springy. Hard to see anyone objecting to this. Smelling it in a sauna to get an idea of summer performance and it feels cooling, refreshing and it does the summer job I hoped mandarine would have done. All I can say is opening; no complaints. Edit: it deviates from my expectation; I figured it should dry warm and spicy, instead I find it dries cold and soapy for some reason. Lime feels like a secret note, the ginger is yellow/green but moreso green. I find it to be like a common but nice soap smell after the initial burst of what felt citrusy has mellowed. Not radiating, very quiet. Edit: I like this very much, but unless my nose is under the weather, this under performs. Ginger is quite a strong note but this is oh so soft and delicate. I percieve that I do not get a decent performance for the price; I spray it liberally but it’s like invisible to me. And yes, it smells just like lemongrass.

Is it overpriced? Yep. Does it smell like realistic ginger with woods that people around you will love? Yes. Personally it's my favorite molecule 01 with molecule 01 iris coming in as a close second. The ginger smells so good and high quality and compliments the ISO-E super. It's basic, but sometimes basic is good, think Japanese food. It's also quite versatile but I would definitely recommend it for summer and spring as it compliments the profile best. Very refreshing and clean. As far as performance, I get moderate performance. Longevity could be better I get around 5-6 hours, projection is low-moderate with most projection coming in at the first hour, sillage is ok. I don't think the longevity is as bad as most are making it to be, I think it's more a case of nose blindness.

There’s one thing I don’t like about this fragrance and it’s the fact that it’s begging to be layered with one of those fresh summer scents. I can’t wait to layer it with something equally effervescent . The ginger fizzes and pops at the start then fades a little and just remains around. Often being pushed aside by the ISO E Super Cedar. It’s a fine scent to wear by itself but I think it’s a better accompaniment to other fragrances. I have a fragrance in mind that I really want to try it with; actually two fragrances... no wait three , yup four fragrances I want to try it with. But my reservation would be that that photorealistic ginger might fade too rapidly away and not have to effect I desire

After trying many fragrances that have Ginger as the main character, I must say this is the most photorealistic Ginger I've tried. It's simply that: Fresh Ginger Root. Nothing else, nothing more. I can't smell the Iso E Super which I usually do, but since this smells like a Ginger fragrance rather than you just having rubbed some Ginger Root on your skin, I'm guessing the Iso E Super is what gives it the light feeling. Kinda similar to Ginger essential oils but without the screechy sourness, or underlying peels and dirt smell. Overall 10/10

Update: After let it sit for a month, it smells exactly like fresh ginger, with hint of lime. The nozzle is so hard (or I'm too weak), it makes a wet alcohol spot every spot I spray. 1st time use: it smells like M+mandarin on my skin with a spicy ginger taste, not sweet one. 😂 And it changes a little every time I try it, sometimes it's just like tangerine, sometimes it's like ginger + lime, sometimes it's just lime.

I’ve been looking for a fragrance like this, it’s fantastic! if you enjoy the scent of natural ginger root. I recommend checking this one out. It’s zesty, a little spicy, a bit citrusy and a tad sweet. I mostly reach for this on warmer days. It has a zingy effervescence that’s hard to explain but to me it’s somewhat reminiscent of what you get when cracking a fresh can of ginger beer. Ahh.. so good!!!

Realistic ginger with it’s spicy, refreshing, and slightly sweet facets. Familiar M01 (Iso Gamma Super) presents ~ 30 minutes into the wearing and becomes more dominant as the ginger dissipates (though it never fully goes away). This is easily my favorite among the latest additions to the M01+ line. The freshness of this fragrance would lend itself very well to a hot summer day.

Very straightforward, not at all in a bad way...It is exactly what it purports to be. Fresh spicy ginger, like you are cutting the roots in the kitchen and the juices are on your hands, underlined by woodsy base notes. Very pleasant. Fresh and masculine. Not at all overwhelming, but neither understated. This one is a "buy"...only problem is that it fades far too quickly :(

Was shocked in store when spraying it on the test strip: smells literally like when you slice up ginger and crush it. Simple, to the point. I tried it on my skin, and it did show a little more depth, guess it's the Molecule 01. Loved it. It stayed for a pretty good chunk of time too, around 4h.

The opening is beautiful, freshly grated ginger. Fresh and spicy with that comforting molecule 01 dna, you can almost get that heat that real ginger has. This will really shine in warmer weather I think on a hot day it will radiate. Such a nice addition to the molecule + range

I'm not a huge fan of molecular scents, but the ginger in this pops! Love the realistic and bright ginger note. This is a layering fragrance for sure, as the ginger fades to a light accent after a bit. But it's on my to purchase list for sure!

Lemon/Lime and ginger opening. And middle. And drydown. Linear but strangely addictive. Very realistic fresh grated ginger. Only get a couple hours but very bright and uplifting. Might be worth a FB if can find half off.

Oh...this is beautiful! I received a compliment literally walking through the door into work wearing it. I love most of Geza's creations, and this is certainly another of his I'll be adding to the collection.

LOVE. Smells exactly like freshly grated ginger and a bit soapy like an expensive hotel shower gel. Great for layering and perfectly unisex. Super fresh and energetic. Longevity isn’t great I will say though.

That’s a simple but very enjoyable scent!! Love its juiciness and freshness. Lots of zesty and fizzy citruses mixed with cheerful ginger scent. Happiness in a bottle - as simple as that.

I am obsessed, this smells just like a fancy artisanal ginger ale. I love it. I only wish it could be more powerful so that I could smell it at all times

a lovely gourmand scent. smells spicy in a seasonless way and pleasantly woody. i sense a slight lemongrass influence as well.

Gorgeous, juicy, citrusy, spicy ginger. Gives a lemon verbena vibe too. I absolutely love how simple and unisex this is.

Very realistic ginger note. Slight spicy but then it wears off to a slightly sweet ginger + IsoE.

Green, clean, and somewhat astringent at first, with that M01 backbone warming it up later on.

Unsweetened ginger ale. Very realistic and pleasant! Love to layer this as well

I’ve started layering it with Molecule 02 and now I’m completely hooked.

Molecule 01+Ginger is the final scent (as of now) from the M+ collection for me to try. Like the others, it features a good-quality example of the named note alongside the Iso-E-Super, the aromachemical that comprises Molecule 01. In my opinion, the M+ collection is the best of Escentric Molecules. Again, as is the case with the other M+ scents, the Iso-E-Super marries beautifully with the other note every time, by nature of its abstract character, placing the named note centre stage. M01+G features a prominent ginger note from initial spray, realistic and unmistakable. Ginger is an underrated note in perfume, multifaceted and pleasant, its sweet-spiciness a lovely addition. It is rare to find a scent where ginger is the focal point, but this is a lovely example. Initially resembling freshly-chopped ginger root at the opening of this scent, it becomes sweeter, perhaps due in part to the Iso-E-Super. It brings to mind crystallised, even candied ginger as it unfolds. It also reminds me of sweetly soothing ginger ale. The Iso-E-Super underscores the ginger throughout, typically warm, musky and slightly woody. It fades to a single-note Iso-E-Super scent after a while, its musky haze lingering on my skin after the ginger subsides. Sillage and longevity are moderate. A unisex, transeasonal scent, M01+G is a decent, everyday ginger scent that manages to show more than one side of its ginger note. Like the other M+ scents, it is simple and linear, with the named note as the focal point. Simply choose your favourite - they are all done well. 3.5/5.

Can't believe how fresh and crisp this is, but it has a bit of sweetening spice as well. Like niche, super punchy (freshly grated), expensive ginger ale. I can't wait for the full bottles to get to discounters. Not sure about longevity, but will update at a later date. Update 1: Bought a bigger decant from exquiseparfums (in Quebec) and for some reason I am getting a lemongrass note that is not fully agreeing with me, but I will keep testing. I didn't get lemongrass in the slightest before! I also want to compare again to my original manufacturer's carded sample which I can't find right now. Update 2: Testing again and LOVING it again, as it smells as good as the first time now without the lemongrass overpowering anything. I am not sure why. It is my favorite fresh ginger scent I've ever experienced. It's making me curious about Escentric 03 which also has ginger and lime. This is not a ginger cookie, but a barely sweetened fizzy and cold ginger drink to break through a muggy day. Update 3: I gave up on this one again. The lemongrass is just too forward, sadly. I still spray the travel very occasionally, but def not full bottle for me.

Well, I detest the smell of real ginger, so I figured I probably wouldn’t like this either. But I wanted to try it because it's one of the three new Molecule 01 fragrances. In the early stages, this fragrance reminded me of a lemony bathroom cleaner smell, so I was a little bummed about it and certain it wasn't for me. However, I'm a sucker for these Molecule 01 + fragrances, and as most of them do....you give it an hour or so to develop and it starts to morph into a very pleasant, versatile and friendly scent. The words clean and fresh come to mind with the ginger scent. I like it, and now I'm anxious to try the Guaiac Wood and Black Tea!

This is a very clean and fresh ginger perfume. It has some spiciness, yet quickly softens into a mild and sweet scent. The sillage is almost non-existent and it stays close to the body from the first spray. Not very long-lasting, perhaps four hours? So for the price, I would love a longer experience with it - but maybe with such a minimalistic and clean scent profile, it's bound to be rather fleeting. Either way, it is a very pleasant smell that is perfect for any day when you don't know what to wear. This has a refreshing ease about it that would work in any situation.

Extremely realistic ginger, I think this could cure your nausea and clear your sinuses, but in the best way. The scent underneath when the ginger starts to fade is this *smell* that I have been chasing around Chicago for over a year. There's some plant that grows near the chicago river that smells like this, and some perfumes have this note that I've smelled wafting through the city. My friend who is a super smeller says goose poop can also smell like this but whatever, it smells amazing. Very pleased with this!

Got a small decant of this since I like Molecule 01 and wanted to try one of the + variants. I like it! Definitely a lot stronger and consistent than Molecule 01 is... I put it on the morning. I walked in the afternoon, went in the hot tub, showered, and could STILL smell the (very convincing) ginger scent. Would say this leans more wintery/springy than original Molecule 01. Something about its freshness makes it scream cool weather fragrance to me.

Photorealistic ginger , if that’s what you want it’s definitely worth trying. I don’t think you’d be disappointed. Not sure if I’d invest in a full bottle solely because I’m still gauging its performance and I don’t particularly LOVE ginger enough to justify getting a variant of molecule 01 consisting of this at the moment. If you like layering , I can see this enhancing greener/fresher frags rather well.

Delicious prominent ginger fragrance. Though very weak in perfomance. If you like freshness and aromatic fragrances, you would probably like this as well. It is quite sharp and fresh, so I would be cautious with using it as every-day wear. You might want to layer it, to get a better lasting smell, as it is quite bad in longevity and sillage. Otherwise you might not get enough smell for your money.

I find this more of a citrusy fresh ginger scent, not spicy and realistic as other people have gotten, but like the best refreshing bath products. Similar to the Origins ginger scent. It smells AMAZING to me, but it is a soft scent more for the wearer than anyone around you.

The ginger was deliciously realistic and spicy at first spray. After one or two hours, the ginger kind of melts into my skin and takes on a more sweet, woody vibe. Very cool and relaxed scent. Longevity: moderate Projection: soft to moderate Polarity: unisex

Warm from the iso e super, then photorealistic ginger. Like when you blitz ginger and water to make ginger juice. Often ginger in perfumerie is rather sharp and metallic, but this is not, just realistic ginger

I love the spicy , peppery ginger. Love it. However, there is an early whiff of pledge furniture polish. It does linger for maybe 30 minutes then fades, but it keeps me from buying this as a full bottle.

Fresh, nice and pleasant, but also a little bit too sweet and slightly soapy for my preference. Very good for simple everyday wear, but lacks depth to be worn as a signature scent or at special events.

this is awesome - just fresh cut, raw ginger. spicy and bright. really fun photorealistic fragrance. lots of iso e super obvi in the background but the ginger is the star.

Realistic ginger with an iso-e-super woody base. Simple but pleasant. Poor longevity but ginger is a top note so wouldn’t be expected to last.

A simple straightforward cedar and ginger fragrance. Not too much to it other than that.

wow that's just straight up ginger

I will start by saying I LOVE Escentric Molecules! Their Molecule 01 and M01+Mandarin are beautiful. I have the Molecule 01 + Mandarin and it is a dream. I love Ginger so I was extremely excited to see the a M01+Ginger coming to the market. I was lucky to get it on sale and ordered immediately. Unfortunately, this one was a bit off the mark for me. It has a realistic and sharp ginger opening and the Molecule 01 (ISO) doesn’t show up for a few minutes. After a strong very chemical opening, it quickly (within 20-30 minutes) becomes a weak skin scent, so more true to an EDT than the longer performing M01+Mandarin. I bought this as a blind purchase as I love other EM fragrances but if I could have smelled it prior to buying, I would not have purchased it. It smells appropriate for a room fragrance or a candle. I’ll stick to M01+Mandarin but if you’re adventurous and love ginger at all costs, this could work for you.

The opening is a very realistic depiction of crushed ginger to the point of not really feeling like a perfume (sadly). 2 hours later the ginger is gone and it’s all wood/iso. Overall I get about 3.5 hours of longevity on skin with intimate projection either that or I become anosmic. No, it’s not similar to Ingenious Ginger from Goldfield and Banks. Ingenious Ginger is more of a perfume-y sweet ginger with citrus and amber-y touches that gives the vibes of a fizzy drink. Whereas, Molecule 01 + ginger is straight up realistic ginger and wood. They have similar performances (at least on my skin). Although I prefer Ingenious Ginger, I don’t want to say it’s the better one. I guess it depends whether you’d like a realistic or sweet perfume-y depiction of ginger

I was gifted a sample of this and thought I’d give it a go one day. I have a bit of a love/hate with these fragrances as sometimes I can smell them, sometimes I can’t and sometimes I find them a little headache inducing. This one though was very refreshing and it must have had a scent as I received a compliment while wearing it. The ginger is very prominent which for a molecular fragrance is a good thing I reckon as they can tend to come off quite chemically smelling. Not full bottle worthy for me but my fave of this fragrance house that I’ve tried so far.

I get more lemongrass than ginger and then it went almost soapy on me. I can see why some people have associated it with cleaner, although I don't. It didn't last very long, or maybe I got used to it very quickly, but I wear scents for myself and want to enjoy them throughout the day so it's not worth it to me. The Black Tea was stuck around better for me.

When I first acquired this fragrance, I was quite disappointed that it seemed to be a woody lemon scent, and I put it aside for about six months. Upon trying it again, it had matured in the bottle and now has a realistic, fresh-cut ginger blast that, while not long-lasting, is very pleasant. Does well layered with any other ginger-citrus type scent.

I won’t repeat myself...I went in-depth about iso e super in another review about this brand...but, suffice to say, the iso e super doesn’t blend well for me with these singular notes...the ginger is very realistic though

Smells like ginger and Iso E Super. I would argue that this was strange choice to send out as a sample with a purchase of an oud that famously smells like manure, but perhaps I don’t understand marketing.
