Molecule 01 + Iris

My first introduction to an iris perfume was before i was very interested in perfumery. My dad bought a bottle of prada infusion d'iris for us to share. We both thought it was a unisex scent, but after looking it up on fragrantica apparently its marketed towards women? it definitely doesnt smell gendered at all. it eventually piqued my curiosity so i looked into what iris was supposed to smell like. powdery, vegetal and floral? prada iris smells nothing like that! I actually didnt enjoy it at first. i thought it smelled very citrus like, but not in a good way. it smelled like dried citrus instead of a fresh and bright citrus. it also had a citronella note. It eventually grew on me a lot, and i started to like it. but in my head, iris was very much associated with citrus. eventually i bought fleur de peau by diptyque which didnt smell citrusy at all and i was confused. i love that fragrance still and its go to scent for daily use. its addictive to me. After smelling a lot of other iris scents, i realized that iris may become my favorite note in perfumery. So i came across this one. It smells like a very pure fragrance to me. yes i am anosmic to iso e super so all i could smell is iris. And that iris is wonderful! it smells just like what i enjoy: powdery, dusty, vegetal, ever so slightly floral. But somehow this is citrusy too? it has that same dried citrus peel effect as the prada iris. it smells sliiightly bitter and medicinal but i really enjoy those types of fragrances so i cant complain. the iso e super doesnt show up to my nose but i dont mind i bought a bottle of this instantly, especially since i want to layer this with other scents. Now to the performance. This is something that i cant really judge since i barely smell it on myself after spraying. But the amount of compliments i got is crazy. so many people asked me what i was wearing, and thats something i never experience since none of the fragrances i wear project. and those compliments come after hours of wearing it. so the longevity must be good as well. Maybe it works well with my skin, i wish i could know. Molecule 01 + iris is a really nice, easily loveable and extremely unisex fragrance. i am a guy who strictly enjoys feminine and unisex fragrances but this has masculine facets as well. i wouldnt call it a neutral type of unisex, more like a combination of feminine (powdery light floral) + masculine (rooty vegetal bitter) notes. 9/10 Itd be higher if i could smell more of it sorry for the long review

Pre-Review Getting this today—my first niche fragrance. Probably one of the riskiest blind buys out there, but hey, I’m a gambling man. I know almost everything about this scent except how it’ll project on me, and I’ve heard that’s all down to skin chemistry. I would’ve gone for the OG Molecule 01, but it’s sold out at all the discounters. This seemed like the next best thing. ⸻ Post-Review Initial impression: Opened with a fresh laundry vibe... but also a weird pickle note. Slightly worried at first, but it seems to be fading. Oddly, it smells better on my other hand—clearly a skin chemistry thing. There was a slight burning sensation, which probably isn’t a great sign. The opening hit hard with alcohol, and I couldn’t pick up any wood at first—definitely no Iso E Super “glow” right away. Very faint overall. As it settles: The iris starts fading, and I’m getting a clean, woody note that’s really nice. That initial vinegar-ish scent is still hanging around on my right arm, but almost gone on the left. Could be my lotion, or just the way my skin reacts. It’s not a beast by any means, but it has that comfort scent energy—grandma approved in the best way. Smells like woody soap on my skin, sometimes strong, sometimes barely there. Might not be a compliment magnet, but it’s the kind of scent that grows on you the longer you wear it. Layering potential? Very curious. I think the lotion I use might change how this develops, so I’ll definitely experiment there. ⸻ Pro tip: If you have a partner, this is 100% a “come closer” fragrance. Super intimate, clean, and cozy—perfect for hugs and cuddles. Dry down (6+ hours in): Still hanging around on my clothes. On skin, it’s become a true second-skin scent. Subtle, but still there—especially noticeable while laying in bed. No rating yet, but right now I smell like woody soap, and I’m not mad at it. Note- idk if this vinegar smell is due to a defective bottle or lack of age. Mabye there’s a chance no one else can even smell this note and it’s just my nose, until I know I’ll probably just play it safe and apply it a hour before I go anywhere, by that time it’s settled more with my skin chemistry. Update- everyone who smelled the opening just said it was citrusy but to me it’s vinegar and kinda like pickles. It also did smell different on me then to my friends. But that’s what other people said. When u smelled my friend I couldn’t smell it on him in the slightest at times.

Also it smells like fun dip. In a subtle way, also smells like the color purple. Although I don’t know if I can smell the iso e super Oh my heavens I just undoubtedly smelled the iso e super in this. And I audibly gasped. It was like a wonderful creamy sweet woody scent. Idk if the iris affected it in any way. But I’ll definitely be getting pure molecule 01 in the future. Once this runs out. Also yes it came out of no where. Definitely interesting. Note- I can now smell it on my arm that I sprayed yesterday while layering it. I think my nose is evolving. The iris in this will definitely go away but once you can recognize iso e super really smell it. But still subtle. Probably why some people think this stuff last seconds and others hours. Also I took a bath and it’s still on my arm. - iso e super also seems to really chill out that pickle like smell that I got. Genuinely half the fragrance unlocked for me for the moment i could smell it. -if you didn’t like this at first and you own it I suggest wearing it more and see if your nose gets used to it. 10/10 addictive smell. The fragrance overall idk yet It’s every where. Idk if I’ve become hyper aware to this stuff, but it’s every where. It’s eternal, Mabye not the iris. I can tell because the iris gives it this candy fun dip scent that’s really nice because the iso e super takes over(also really nice) but anyone who says this stuff doesn’t last is nose blind. 10+ hours and it sticks to clothes and pillows like crazy. But this all depends on if you can smell it and how strong you can. This has also became soapier to me over time. Kinda Got me a compliment tho.

by all means this is a very simplistic and 'bland' fragrance, something i dont typically enjoy. but i have not fallen out of love with it ever since i smelled it in april of 2024. No iris makes me this happy, which is weird because this is such a straightforward and realistic orris perfume. Most irises smell sad, cocooning, cozy and damp. Somehow m01+iris doesnt! its bright, but its not fresh or zingy in a citrus way. its not clean in a musky laundry detergent way. its not sunny cheery bright, it is meditative and calm bright. i find that such an interesting approach to an iris perfume specifically. It definitely smells green and it doesnt include the earthy vegetal aspect that some irises can have. This isnt overly powdery. it starts off in a woody dry iris manner and dries down into a fatty buttery waxy iris. instead of the typical purple iris, this is a yellow colored iris. It definitely has to contain some amount of iris naturals, since it does smell like the root of an iris i grew myself (granted i didnt dry nor age the root but it definitely had a distinctive smell). A lot of irises (aka ionones) in perfume dont smell that distinct from violet notes (also ionones), even though both plants smell extremely different in real life. I guess thats all i can say. this is an atypical yet simplistic iris. you have to love iris to love this, otherwise it might fall flat for you. Its in the same vein as infusion d'iris, but much more elevated and much less soapy. actually this isnt soapy at all. It also performs much better and just feels more like a complete perfume

Fresh, pretty, spicy, herbal, soapy, powdery, clean. The iris almost smells slightly like fennel to me? Like a creamy fennel and violet bar of soap. As it dries down it does become increasingly more powdery and at times make me think of old ladies at church, though most of the time it gives me fresh, spicy, herbal soap vibes. Also I love the smell of plain iso e super by itself, but I don’t get that creamy woody ethereal smell from this at all so don’t go in expecting it. This scent reminds me a lot of Naked by The Maker, except Naked has more of a carrot and a stronger powder smell, and this one is more herbal and fresh. I prefer this one out of the two. Longevity wise it’s decent. It’s a close-to-the-skin scent that goes away after about 4-6 hours. Surprisingly my boyfriend loves it. Apparently it smells like a Sports Illustrated magazine he had when he was younger. “Fresh and beachy,” he says. He actually likes this more than my holy grail Molecule 01 so I’ll probably purchase at least a 5ml sample size for spring and summer. Edit: every time I wear this sample I like it more and more. I think I might have to get a full bottle. 8/10

Very, Very soft, Molecule 01+Iris is very true to it's name in that it uses the subtlety of Iso E super to enhance the buttery, gossamer-like, richness of the iris. Recently in my perfume journey, I've started becoming a big fan of Iris, so I really enjoy this fragrance, even despite the mild longevity and projection. Usually, I want a fragrance to have some punch to it to envelope myself in a robust scent bubble, but I find the periodic wafts of fluffy, powdery iris so pleasant that the projection isn't an issue for me, especially when layered over something that also has iris. At least on my skin, The iso e super doesn't really project much and mostly smells faintly musky and clean on skin. The iso e does have some projection initially, and I find it kind of weird. It's crisp, cleaning product like, and vaguely alcoholic in a way I can only liken body spray, or cheap perfume, but well...I do like perfume and it doesn't dominate this fragrance by any means. Maybe, I am just anosmic to it, but I don't really get all the hype around iso e super. I can appreciate how it adds weight to this fragrance and accentuates the iris, though.

I love this fragrance and I wear it tons! There's one thing I feel that needs explaining because most reviewers seem to not realize this: This smells completely different when you're wearing it compared to what others smell on you. What I mean is: the wearer experiences a lot of woodiness and earthiness from Molecule 01 (Iso-E Super) and the iris is there, but it doesn't always -seem- that prominent. When you smell this fragrance on someone else however, there is no woodiness whatsoever, it's this HUGE cloud of soft, lipsticky, cosmetic, slightly powdery iris that is just to die for. It smells like that in the air from a distance, just not from up close, that's why the wearer doesn't experience it himself. My girlfriend and I both wear this fragrance a lot, and we both experience the same thing. It's woody when you wear it yourself, but it's insanely irisy when you smell it on someone else. It can be room filling when over-applied. So don't judge too quickly! It will smell better to others than to yourself!

Normally, not an iris fan. But lately warming up towards it. Molecule 01+ Iris is beautiful! It’s the kind of perfume that features prominently a star note, the orris root, and does it well. It’s not a complex or sophisticated blend of various accents and accords. Somehow smells sweet, creamy and floral, not earthy and dry. I like iris or orris root when smells more sweet, powdery, buttery, warm and fresh, not earthy, vegetal and cold. And that’s how it’s been done in this fragrance. Classic, delicate, feminine, elegant, soft! Makes me think of Viola Essenziale by Salvatore Ferragamo, my all time favourite iris forward fragrance. A less nuanced version of that, but breathtakingly beautiful nonetheless. Lasts on skin about four hours with minimal sillage, so one for chilled, relaxing moments. Testing Molecule 01+ Iris was a joy, instant love and purchased already a travel size for my collection. It’s really cozy and comforting, like wearing an expensive, high quality cashmere sweater...

I agree at first it’s sour, almost bergamot like which I’m not a fan but then I could not smell it for a good ten minutes. Then it came alive again and I’m so glad I got this. It surrounds you in a beautiful powdery orris. Neither feminine nor masculine. What I wanted but did not get from Prada. This projects like crazy even though I don’t really smell myself too much, two people stopped me in the mall and asked what I was wearing. Working out brings out an even more magical scent so I am so excited to wear this in the summer. Someone mentioned this is glossier you’s big sister. I completely agree and about to break it down because I’m a dork. Prada is the oldest sister she has a family, house and a 401k. Fleur de Peau is the sister who lives in France getting her masters in something worldly. Then M01+Iris is the cool techy sister who works at Google she has a motorcycle. Then there is You. She is the youngest sister who gets way with everything. She is that clean girl aesthetic.

Molecule 01 + Iris does exactly what it says on the tin, it’s a very simplistic and straightforward scent and executed very well. Obviously this fragrance is dominated by an explosion of synthetic yet incredibly smooth and sensual Iso E Super, this is where the fantastically addictive component of the scent derives. The orris root then adds two distinct contrasting scent profiles from here; firstly is the subtle powdery, creamy and almost buttery nature that we all associate with orris, and secondly is the dry, earthy and slightly grassy aspect of the orris root which we often don’t see in most fragrances. You can’t hate on this scent for its simplicity, because it achieves exactly what it sets out to to - it’s not trying to be complex. This is a perfect scent when you’re in one of those moods that you just want to smell clean and sophisticated, when you feel like taking a day off from wearing perfume (but you’re obviously not that crazy).

I have this one and the patchouli in the + collection, I do prefer the patchouli as it pairs better with the iso e super. This is still an excellent fragrance, completely unisex. You get the iso e super then this thick warm creamy iris hits, it starts to turn clean soapy. Both scents work good together but sometimes I feel both notes taking turns. You get the woody note then you get the iris they don’t fight they just don’t fuse. The projection is good you will get wiffs all day, I do like the iris it’s a very nice iris even if I am not a big fan of it. I have the givenchi gentlemen reserve privee as my main iris fragrance I know Dior and Prada also offer great Iris dominant designer options. I would recommend if you are venturing into the iris note or accord. An easy 8/10 if you are looking for a subtle good iris fragrance. Update: I started to appreciate iris the more I wore it. Got Dior Homme intense that I really like.

Some perfumes ask to be noticed. This one simply asks to be worn. When I first sprayed Molecule 01 + Iris, I thought it was beautiful - but I had no idea it would become part of me. It didn't try to impress me. It patiently waited until I noticed the little moments: a soft whisper on my sweater, a delicate breeze catching my hair, a quiet reminder that it was still there. Day after day, it became less of a fragrance and more of a feeling. The iris is clean, airy and almost weightless, wrapped in a transparent warmth that feels like skin rather than perfume. It never hides who I am; it gently reveals it. This isn't the fragrance I wear when I want to become someone else. It's the fragrance I wear when I want to feel most like myself. Some perfumes are unforgettable because they make an entrance. This one is unforgettable because, one day, you realize it has quietly become home.

So clean, soft, and simple- masterfully balanced. To me, this is the perfect "yes and" to Molecule 01 (which I like but get tired of fairly quickly- literal wood shavings, personally reminds me of pet bedding). This was the first Iris I fell in love with, and haven't found one that bests it yet. After extensive Luckyscent sampling, the closest I've gotten is probably Heeley Iris de Nuit (similar but with some violet & carrot seed). This Iris is a creamy floral powder with just the right amount of "greenness" to it- not "doughy" as Iris can sometimes be. This is what I wear when I'm feeling ambivalent about about my fragrance collection. Running through my 30 ml bottle lickety split, kind of regret not just getting the 100 ml TBH. Definitely a "personal" scent/minimal throw- I've never had anyone comment on it, but lovely for a quick comforting wrist sniff throughout the day.

ISO E is complex in its own right. It is not in fact only 1 molecule. I can say that it’s top almost in the running with my Iris fragrances—Dior Homme (2005 original); Dior Homme Intense (2011); Iris Poudre; Le Cri; Grossmith Shem-el-Nessiim, Iris Nazarena, even Lutens Iris Silver Mist. The Iris is of special quality: starts out big, doughy, sweet, rooty, earthy, like DHI minus the candied fruit aspects, and then turns chalky, lipsticky, and finally dry and dusty. I’ve been spraying it on fabric and Geza Shõen is right: it’s a subtle bomb. Three sprays on my pjs and this morning it’s still blooming dusty beauty off my clothes! The ISO E helps this plush blooming effect, and they work together perfectly. That said, this is all about Iris. A properly denuded, dusty dry Iris. It’s gorgeous by itself, and an amazing booster to layer. I layer it with Le Cri. Radiant!

I like this :) A beautiful, soft, woody iteration of iris. I LOVE iris, but couldn't smell Molecule 01 no matter how many times I tried. Not sure what sorcery has come upon me, but somehow, combining Molecule 01 AND Iris lets me smell both of them. I'm digging it. Soft projection, average longevity. Very pleasant. Smells unisex to me, and gives off a bit of a "nurturing" vibe. Compared with: 1. Glossier's You - sure, to me, this smells like the drydown of You, because they share the iris and that vague "sandalwood" vibe. It skips past that aggressively sharp opening of You. I prefer Molecule 01 + Iris. 2. Hermes' Hiris - Hiris is VERY dusty and almost feels like a "bone-dry", dehydrated iris. Not awful, but I prefer mixing it with something to give it a little more creaminess. Molecule 01 + Iris is creamier and I prefer it.

These reviews are so weird. The idea that this is anything but unisex is so bizarre to me (coming from a man with a bunch of fairly traditional masc fragrances). To me this smells like pure iris. It’s a tad powdery, but not overly, maybe very lightly woody and sweet, and slightly peppery at the very opening... but definitely just a ton of iris. Had a sample, bought a bottle. It is extremely warm and comforting. It strikes me (contrary to the votes) as more wintery, but I’m sure it’s year-round appropriate. I put this on and feel immediately calm. It’s amazing. It sits close to your skin, but I can pretty easily smell it 5-6 hours after applying. Definitely not a nuclear scent, but from the reviews I was expecting much less than the actual performance... which is pretty good. Scent: 10/10 Projection: 6/10 Longevity: 7/10

I love the simplicity of this scent. Like someone who tries to to something incredible but you're not sure if he's gonna do it. The first minute or so is horrendous in my opinion, almost unbearable to me. But from that very moment - the only way is up, every moment that passes by the scent just keeps improving. Almost like a skateboarder attempting a trick, starts shaky but manages to pull through and stick the landing. Projection is almost non-existent, but I kind of like it being a more "intimate" fragrance. Longevity is the name of the game here. Easily clearing 7-8 hours. All weather in my opinion, day or night. All of this is not even considering the fact that most of the time I use this fragrance as a base for other fragrances, very rarely on it's own - that's the really neat part about it.

Ugh. Working with a 7.5mL travel spray I bought and immediately forgot about. I wish I’d never pulled it out and tried it on. Because now I need a full bottle immediately. Basically what you have here is a stripped down version of Prada’s Infusion d’Iris, albeit with what feels like a better quality, more natural feeling iris. The perfumer mentioned it’s an excellent grade of iris pallida, for whatever that’s worth. The Iso E Super adds a radiant cedar-like touch but anyone familiar with this material knows that your ability to sense it will come and go, and that’s if you can sense it at all - some are completely anosmic to it. I read it as only slightly powdery and it does seem to leave a beautiful trail - I’ve had two people ask about it just today. Minimalist, quiet luxury, bottled.

I have fallen IN LOVE with this fragrance and I did NOT expect to. I first tried it on paper and didn't think much of it, I was more excited about the ginger, black tea, and mandarin varieties. Then last week I put on Diptyque's Volutes and thought I'd layer it with this to lean into the iris note, and that's when I realized that on the skin this is absolutely incredible. I didn't usually love iris, but those two scents have started to turn me around on it. I think the iso e super makes this one more creamy than powdery. It's a perfect skin scent with more longevity than most. To think if I hadn't picked up the Molecule 01+ travel set I don't think I ever would have gone out of my way to try this one otherwise.

I got this in a sample kit and instantly became addicted to smelling it. The scent is very very close to a lot of aftershaves due to its floral and woody notes, but it has that something that makes you want to experience it over and over again. It's definitely NOT a female-leaning fragrance, and I'd even dare say that it's more masculine than feminine, but let's keep it in the unisex zone. The sillage is decent, but the persistence is awful. I have 20 dollar EDTs that last longer. So given its commonality and very bad performance, the price point is at least 4 times higher than what this fragrance is worth. Nevertheless a beautiful smell, but they should either make it last longer or make it much cheaper.

Why does this smell so amazing when it's so simple?? I'm a Perfume Room podcast listener and I've been hearing Emma bang on about this fragrance for months. I swear she mentions it in every episode. I always thought it wasn't for me and I wouldn't like it because I don't like these molecular, synthetic fragrances and I'm not sure if I like iris. Well, I bought the gift guide sample pack and there was a sample of this in there and I'm obsessed! It's a powdery but also kind of juicy floral. In my mind, it's a very purple fragrance. It's intriguing but very wearable for every day. It's also kind of a skin scent that doesn't smell "perfumey". I don't really know how to describe it but I'm obsessed!

So lovely. This smells like crisp white shirts that have been freshly laundered and ironed (and possibly starched). It's so clean and crisp. Truly, a modern iris. This is *the* clean girl scent. It's so polite yet so captivating and pleasing. This smells like the color periwinkle. I'm part of the population that can't fully perceive iso-e super, smells like mostly nothing to me, but the iris here brings the iso-e super into focus for me so I can actually smell it. Relatedly, this seems to only last 2 hours on me (sprayed clothes) before fading. I wonder if that’s actually the case, or if it fades into an iso e super scent that I cant detect.

I adore Molecule 01 & i wear it, along with M 04, daily. I just sampled this M01+iris and now I know what a solo iris note smells like. I could not scrub this off my hand fast enough! Iris apparently triggers my gag reflex (no offense to anybody) and is a hard no for me. Iris and the color periwinkle. EDIT: Yesterday (10 months after my above review) I stumbled upon this tester again, sprayed, and I completely fell in love. Did I graduate to loving iris now? I am so confused - I went from literally scrubbing this off to purchasing a full bottle. This is a cozy warm hug from a gorgeous, fresh clean girl just out of the shower. Beautiful.

I love this... I’ve gone through ~3 bottles of Molecule 01 and decided to try the iris since I like the note... on me it smells like Wood Sage and Sea salt by Jo Malone and Bal d’Afrique by Byredo had a baby.... It’s in the same realm as those two, which I like. It’s your skin but better and clean. This is safe for the office and warmer months when you don’t feel like wearing a perfume but still want to smell good. This might become my signature scent. I wanna try the M+ Patchouli next. As someone who loves strong loud scents this is lovely even if its soft and light. Perfect for a minimalist.

Bought this in the middle of a mall in Adelaide, received it as a gift to remind myself to keep up the work-life hustle and bustle, in a way. This could possibly be, what I believe to be my first ever fall Fragrance. It fits the entire, autumnal work and back-to-study feel that I could never possibly find anywhere else. This fragrance is an absolute motivator, the way it pushes me back and forward into wanting to work, and a sense of wanting to keep going and move forward... A study feel, for whatever reason. I think i'll be wearing this whenever I need to lock in. 8.6/10

first couple minutes after spraying i get sudocrem, yuck. the first time i tried this i washed it off and was kinda sad because i love iso e super and iris. when i let it sit on my skin for at least half an hour... marvellous! the sudocrem goes away and is replaced by a warm, soft, comforting iris, with the quiet, earthy iso e super. you aren't smelling it all the time so you don't get sick of it, instead you smell it on yourself every so often and it's such a treat. wearing this on a warm spring day but would also suit autumn and winter. it's such a lovely experience.

I didn't know I loved Iris until now. It's linear, of course, but there's no shortage of interest. Super soft, lightly powdery, creamy but airy. It's gorgeous when a breeze catches it. It doesn't beg for attention, but it will enchant someone nearby. I truly adore it. I wore it to sleep last night and craved more when I woke in the morning. It doesn't have an ever-present density, but provides sweet wafts intermittently. It is indeed simple, but oh so very elegant. My only complaint is Escentric Molecules' atomizers. I'm batting zero with them. No spray, just spurt.

Glossier You's big sister. It is Glossier without the peppery kick - actually if you're a fan of orris / iris / lipstick notes, this is much better. Creamy and soft. The scent does not match the bottle IMO - the scent is very elegant, subtle, feminine. Post edit: This is actually so so so beautiful to wear. I initially thought I'd mostly be using it for layering, but it's quickly become one of my favourite solo scents to wear. It's so comforting, clean, creamy but still chalky. I hope it's never ever discontinued, thinking of buying a backup bottle.

Out of curiosity I blind bought Molecule 01 + Iris. To me this is a somewhat floral, commercial scent with a slight touch of woodiness. The scent is airy and radiate around me as soon as I sprayed it. It feels a kinda familiar scent as if I have smelt it somewhere before. And it goes on and off on and off on and off. My very first experience with Iso E Super dominated fragrance. In summary it is rather pleasant and I would not mind wearing this fragrance on a weekend when I only want to feel fresh and clean without an obvious "scent".

Wowza! Glorious fragrance, oh my! 0_0 Beautiful, sensual iris, takes a while to get going, but will last aaaaaaaalllllll the way throughout the life of the fragrance, thanks to the molecule, I guess. Unisex. Highly recommended for 'lipsticky iris' lovers. This is for iris lovers who want something 'pure'. Not the ambrette/vanilla to sweeten things up, just pure iris. Smells very luxurious and classy. For me, this is everything I've ever wanted in an iris fragrance. Rating: ★★★★★ Will be saving up for a FB. Peace!

I love this one. Not by itself though. And not because it's an especially well crafted perfume. I love it because its simplicity: it's powdery, with zero sweetness, fresh from the Iso E Super, and can be layered with many perfumes that I want to be powdery, fresher and more tuned down. Which is a majority of perfumes, especially during spring and summer. It's like a perfume that is not a perfume by itself, which I also appreciate. When I want to have a smell, but not a perfume smell, this is easy to go for.

This is beauty in fragrance form. Warm, complex, ethereal and comforting. Utterly spellbinding. Love what has been achieved here with such simplicity. I am an iris lover and here it's wonderful. Something of note is that when I tried this on a perfume-smell-athon, I dismissed it. Perhaps I was nose-fatigued and couldn't properly appreciate it in the sensorially busy perfume hall. However, I have a 10ml spray of this now and being able to spend some time alone with it, its attractive facets were revealed.

IMO this and ginger are my favorite from the line. Iris just might overtake ginger which I personally own, but based on this Iris sample, man it's giving it a run for it's money. Might have to pick up a bottle. Btw I think this smells unisex down the line, it's woody powdery, not sure why people are rating it feminine. Many men's fragrances have iris in them, and as a male that doesn't like feminine leaning scents and tend to be more on the masculine spectrum on fragrances, I have no issues wearing this.

This is softly powdery and lightly woody. It’s beautiful. The iris shines and the combo with the iso e super is very smooth and clean and creamy and warm. (I don’t often associate iris with warmth but here that’s how it feels.) I think this is a stunner in its simplicity. Stays close to skin but definitely creates an intimate scent bubble (like a hug). I like iris...but I love this. Definitely a your skin but better scent which lands as perfectly unisex imo.

Wow! Molecule 01 + Iris by Escentric Molecules pleasantly surprised me! I have been looking for a feminine, yet clean girl fragrance I can wear during the scorching summer heat, when all my beautiful sweet gourmand scents curdle and turn cloying. This smells clean and fresh with just enough sweetness from the Iris to save it from being too masculine for my tastes. Though honestly, this would smell sexy on a man as well. A full bottle is on the way!

Oh hell, I love this. I am a lover of all things iris anyway, and this one is top notch. Yes, it doesn't last all day. Yes, it is too expensive. But if you want that powdery, woody iris thing going and love the iso e super note of the Molecule 01, you will love this. It is NOT sweet and I don't understand the comparisons to lipstick -- this is a mature smelling fragrance that gives one the feeling of personal power with some softness to temper it.

ok hear me out... i know that this is literally an iris scent BUT why does it resemble 4711 lime & nutmeg? or at least something that exists there too? it took me a while to pinpoint what exactly it is that M01+I is reminding me of, but I'm pretty certain. not really disappointed at all, kind of happy, own both, love both. it just baffles me, how 2 super simple frags smell so similar without having anything officially overlapping in notes?

I’m finding myself increasingly more attracted to minimalist molecule type scents. I find they just work for me. Molecule 01+Iris is a perfect example. It’s sweet but not overtly saccharine like everything else flooding the market. Floral but not overly so. Woody, musky & slightly powdery. I’m left with a relaxing aura surrounding me. It lasts for ages & just smells clean. Sometimes that’s all I need. Luvs it

I really like this - deliberately soft, simple and understated scent - retains the clean feel of Molecule 1 (although the iso E super hides a bit) with added powdery iris. I like iris in fragrances so this stripped down version works for me. Maybe leans slightly feminine. Not huge projection but lasts well and enjoyable for me to catch a waft from time to time throughout the day.

Iris can be funny. It can be earthy, vegetal, sweet, violet, or powdery. However, the iris here is less powdery or lipsticky than I expected. The iso-e-super removes the powdery effect and rounds it to a more woody, fresh-air scent. The sillage is impressive but also diffusive and light. This is a wonderfully modern iris that anyone could wear. Highly recommended.

Some perfumes are more than just scents and they create lasting memories or remind you of something. This is one of those special fragrances for me. I’m not an expert on perfume notes, but this scent stands out. It’s about the feelings it evokes, what I imagine I can be when I use it. If you haven’t tried it yet, this is worth experiencing. :)

Classy, sleek, woody iris, clean, cool and a bit aloof. Quality iris, that I can actually smell, sets it apart from most of the boring iris scents. Good projection, lasted 6-7 hrs on my dry skin, but lasts more on clothes. Could be an office wear, but it's much more elegant than a simplistic clean scent. I got a backup bottle, love it.

I'm a dude and enjoy wearing this. But, there's a knock-off from CA Perfume called "Impression of Molecule 01 Iris" that is pretty darn close to the OG for ~20% of the price, so I tend to use that instead of the original stuff. Pro-tip: Get a bottle of Bharara Chocolate and layer with this (or the CA Perfume version).

This is better than I ever thought it would be. I got molecule 01 for my son and it works for him. I got this after I learned that the perfumer made this specifically for his wife. This is definitely feminine. Niche fragrances seem to be mostly unisex and I do prefer feminine fragrances. It does not dissapoint.

Opens with a strong earthy, dirty type of orris. Very iris heavy opening and as it dissolves it becomes more of a powdery, grounded floral. The ISO on my skin comes across like a spicy, sweaty wood. Not wood-heavy or forward but has an undercurrent of clean, sweaty skin with a nice touch of purple flower.

As a fan of the original molecule 01 I tried a sample of this and I'm very impressed. It just smells clean and fresh and natural. It doesn't smell like a bouquet of flowers or a basket full of baked goods. It's subtle, just just smell good. I would say this leans feminine and would suit a lovely mother.

This is a clean scent that attracts compliments from both men and women. Whenever I wear this someone somewhere is like....what are you wearing and then I have to respond which I kind of dread because it's a mouthful... I wish this fragrance had a better name, it really does not roll off the tongue. Lol

At first spray its harsh, cold, dry iris. Then it blooms beautifully in the air. It shifts between cold woody and powdery, then creamy, woody and floral. On me it has strong projection and sillage — the dry down is quite magnetic. Who doesn’t want to smell aloof? IG/Tiktok: @wilddew_vibes

idk how no one else is mentioning that this smells exactly like those purple violet shaped hard candies that come in a metal tin. this makes me so nostalgic and i can't sniffing myself. my bf loves it too without having heard of those violet candies and not liking florals.
