Molecule 01 + Patchouli

To appreciate this fragrance, your nose might need to be trained to detect Molecule 01 (iso e super). A lot of people here are saying they can't smell it for more than 20 minutes or they can't smell much of it at all. I think this one takes time to appreciate. Opens with a clean airy note that to me is slightly medicinal in a good way. Woody notes (cedar) come through in the middle with some earthy, leafy patchouli notes. The dry down leaves some of those patchouli notes blending with a dry, warm cedar from iso e super. Deep dry down skin scent is pleasant. Projection and longevity is a mystery because of how minimalistic this fragrance is and because of the apparent nature of iso e super. I'd say the effect will be similar to original Molecule 1 -- expect more projection and longevity than you (the wearer) would think. The patchouli notes in this fragrance are so nice. It's not the damp chocolatey patchouli variety. More of a medicinal airy patchouli. Still earthy and green-leafy though. It's a very clean accord and combined with the woody facets of iso e super, to me the composition is effortlessly masculine and sophisticated (though, truly a unisex fragrance). A clean and bright woody patchouli fragrance that is totally signature worthy and good for year-round wear. Very minimalistic (which is on-brand for EM) and probably unique. I've gone through almost half a bottle in under a year because I wear it all the time. I've gotten a couple compliments but I really wear this for myself. I layer with it when I want to boost patchouli and woody facets of my other fragrances but I mostly wear it on its own. Consider me a big fan of this one.

As someone who has an on again off again appreciation for patchouli I can say that this fragrance has really put me back on the patchouli train, maybe for good. If I had not already intended to gift this to a friend I would have kept it and happily used it myself. This patchouli scent is beautifully woody and has a great freshness to it that is not often what I would think of when I think patchouli (eg, incense). My boyfriend described the scent as being very reminiscent of art storage back rooms, a mix of canvas and wood. The projection is a nice armslength, not overpowering and very pleasant. The longevity is also quite good, lasting longer than both the 01+mandarin and 01+black tea. I put it on around 5pm and could still smell it around midnight. Overall I would say that this is a great scent if you enjoy patchouli and may surprise you with how much you like it if you don't. The 01+ series has been an absolute delight to try out and I love the iso base in them. I would say this scent is expensive but worth buying for the price if you enjoy it as much as I do.

This one is magic for me. Take note, I own and wear the original Molecule 1 (pure Iso-E), but we never quite hit it off. I think because I go nose blind too fast. However M+Patchouli is a different story. On me, this is a clean, earthy, and elegant patchouli. I don’t smell the cedar aspects, but maybe others can. I get LOADS of compliments with this one (all from men if that matters to you). The patchouli in this reminds me of a chic, spa or salon- it’s humid, green, deep, and almost fresh herbal/minty. It also reminds me a bit of the rich patchouli base of Aromatics Elixir which my elegant grandmother wore so beautifully. But be assured— M+Patchouli is thoroughly modern. I get excellent longevity and sillage here. One friend even told me he can smell as I approach before he sees me (in a good way). One spray on skin and one on clothes for 12+ hours of wear. If I spray my shirt in the morning, change for work, and then change back 12 hours later I will still get a compliment wearing the original shirt. Consider me a fan.

I love what Geza Schön tried to do molecule line. And molecule 01 + no exception, done it perfectly like Geza says "it's for persons looking for between escentric and molecules" After dozens of parfums i used, molecule 01 reminds me why im wearing parfums. It has to be smell good but same time create comfortable cloud around me. 01 + series adding some extra with great minimal touch. Patchouli make great combination with Iso E Super's woody tones for sure. Iso e super is nose blinding molecule and for users its going to fast undetectable. But remember it will be still there and time to time will remind himself. Patchouli is in it very good green wet fresh, a little dusty touch high quality and rounded well. You will aware it from start to end. I can say its at masculen side but confident mature womens can wear it too.

Fantastic. An easygoing, masculine daily scent. Not deliciously smoky like Le Labo Patchouli 24. It's earthy, damp. But it has a gritty intensity on my skin, like striking a match. Very sexy. For such an apparently simple composition, there's character — love the merging of different leaves — which you can't really call depth, so let's say resonance. It does amusingly remind me of Terre d'Hermes. But while that scent brings to mind a business suit, this is more... sarong? Price and range of sizes are great, though I'm ambivalent about Escentric's late-90s-graphic-designer-trying-too-hard packaging. Distinguished by simplicity — the quintessential you-wear-it not it-wears-you fragrance. It perhaps does what d'Orange Verte once did for my gramps. Keeps things calm.

I had low expectations due to the other Molecules I've tried. (3 or 4 in all) This however impressed me greatly. I just bought Mazzolari Patchouli so I did not need to fall for another one! This one is very much patchouli and cedarwood. I didn't get any amber, which I'm thankful for. Unlike the other Molecule fragrances, I could smell this from the start, and the entire time I wore it. What I don't get: any hidden oud, smokiness, cumin or any other wood except cedar. It is not camphorous to me either as I have several patchoulies that DO have camphorous notes that I love. The longevity is amazing! I got 12+ hours with one or two sprays on top of my hand, that lasted through 6-8 handwashes. It's going on my buy list.

I simply love and adore the smell of patchouli, and this one hits the SPOT❣️ Earthy in an airy sense, chocolatetey, slightly woody (of course) and so very, very sexy. A bit harsh - just a tiny bit - to begin with, but it quickly settles down so seductive, warm, sensual and soft. One of my best! purchases in a long time. This is the kind of scent, that I don't just love - it moves me, makes me feel happy, and I feel almost hugged by it in the most wonderful way. Heavenly and airy earthy at the same time, and worth every penny ❤️ Unisex for sure. A man smelling like this ...oh my God 🫠 This will do well on its own, and will layer absolutely fantastic with numerous of my perfumes. A huge, huge! love ❤️

What a pleasant surprise. Easily my favorite fragrance of the year. I like the original Molecule 01 somewhat, but I prefer Molecule 02. So I wasn't expecting too much here. But there's some chemistry/witchcraft happening with the note combo that my smell receptors effing love. I'm apparently a big fan of the molecule+ concept based on my one experience with it. All at once this scent comes across as an aura as well as a fragrance with a full body. It's not a complex body, but much fuller and more nuanced than I expected with woodiness from the ISO E and earthy green facets of patchouli. Looking forward to trying the mandarin and iris. Major crush on this one.

I got this for my son, but he didn't love it bc of the camphor opening. I got him regular escentric 01 a while back and he loves it. Today i took a risk and wore this one to work, i thought i got whiffs of it now and then but wasnt totally sure? ( I do go noseblind very easily and especially to iso e super.) Someone complimented me today and asked what i was wearing. I was thrilled! Someone asking me for my fragrance is always such a compliment. It just totally makes my day! So glad my son turned this down! It’s mine now! I wondered if it was too hot for patchouli but i think it was fine!

It starts with the woodsy iso e super blended with fresh patchouli, it clean woody aromatic. Once it sits in your skin for a while it starts turning earthy and the iso takes a small step back. Kind of musky not as fresh as at the opening and a little dryer. I like it on its own or for layering. It does stay closer to skin but you can smell it all the time not like molecule 01 that comes and goes. It does last around 8 hours on my skin. I like this line it gives a little tone to make it more usable on its own. 8/10 Update: on clothes it lasts a couple of days.

Okay - THIS is my favorite Molecule 01 flanker. Something just irrefutably sexy about it - got a little tester and will definitely be buying the full-size bottle. It's really leafy and woody and combines with the M01 just right. I feel like it's probably one of the better fall or winter frags that Escentric Molecules makes, but I also think it's basically perfect for rainy, humid days in the spring or summer. Wore it recently on a trip where I could only bring a small vial with me and felt it was a universally safe choice.

I think I might be anosmic to Iso E, but the patchouli is very comforting, bright, round, and warm. I did not like this the first time I wore it, but it grew on me; I really love wearing it to bed and feeling a clear patchouli swath around my body in an herbal wreath. For me, longevity is not amazing, maybe 6-7ish hours on one application. I have received no compliments or comments while wearing this perfume, which I bought in a 5ml decant. Wearing it to bed is so comforting I may have to buy more.

It was hard and expensive enough to get hold of a sample; maybe this has something to do with the Brexit. This is a dry, dark, woody Patchouli scent leaning on the male side (to be politically correct: to all those who at a given moment feel to be leaning on the male side themselves). Deep down below I detect some earthy notes. It is simply lovely, even though I abhor Iso E Super due to its big molecules and difficult bio-degradability.

Patchouli is one note associated with political idealism. But it is also associated with mysticism, music, orientalism, freedom, spiritual exploration. On its own it reflects so much natural depth and brightness that it does not require any wingman. Molecule 01 + Patchouli shines in all these points and it has good staying power and sillage. It makes ecerything and everyone around it a bit happier. Obviously I love it.

I get way more compliments wearing this from women than men. Perhaps it leans a little more masculine on me. Either way, it's beautiful, but in my heart of hearts, I must admit my favourite is still Molecule 01. Longevity and silage are moderate to strong. Don't be tempted to overspray. People can smell it even if you can't really. I enjoy wearing it anytime, even suitable to wear to bed.

Very chique expensive smelling fragrance that really captured my attention and blew me away at first sniff and kept smelling my wrist all the day. Reminds me a bit of the nice trail that terre d'hermes leaves in the air without the sharp dirty orange smell in the opening which makes this particular one enjoyable from start to end with a great performance and sillage!

I liked this, probably because I love Patchouli. Sadly, it just doesn't last at all, and no I'm not anosmic. None of my friends or family can smell it on me either. Word of warning, if you contact the brand, prepare to be patronised in the extreme. It's actually put me off the brand. It's also far too expensive given the poor longevity.

I got this yesterday and tested it out today. Went to my sons baseball game today and 2 of the mothers got a whiff of this with a passing breeze from about 10 feet away and were blown away by who ever it was that smells so good. Whole time I was thinking that this is rather light and not very strong, but others do obviously

Turns out that two of my favorite scents, when combined, cancel the unpleasant elements in each other (the dirtiness in patchouli and the saltiness in ISO E) and create a true modern masterpiece. It's probably the sexiest perfume I've ever smelled, closest to what I would imagine pheromones to work like.

I really like this take on patchouli. It’s not dirty/raw, chocolatey, dusty or cloying at all. It’s a very clean take on the plant that I think is very beautiful. I can detect this on me a lot and I think it complements molecule 01 a lot. Definitely considering a full bottle

Over Priced. Its just Super ISO e and Patchouli. That being said. I do love it. Well blended. Simple. Realistic patchouli. Lasts forever. Is it worth the price? No. I bought mine second hand for 15 bucks and i don't regret it.

Clean, chocolatey patchouli with some dried fruit nuances. I really get the Iso as a distinct papery note, compared to the other M+ fragrances, and it’s totally a vibe! 100% magical scroll energy.

Love this fragrance. I would ignore all The negative reviews. If you like Patchouli buy it. It is very woodsy and earthy but in a clean and airy way. This is very well done.

A really good Molecule 01 + , a very wearable tasteful patchouli, works well in warmer weather as well as it isnt so dense and overbearing as other scents with this note.

just look up : Remember Me (2013) The color way, the futuristic look of there perfumes and color and even simplistic notes reminds me so much of that amazing ass game.

I've never loved a pachouli scent more than I love this one. It's soft, but definitely noticeable and, unlike most patchoulis, it smells clean.

Love it. Smells almost identical to Jo Malone oud and Bergamot. Not strong, but get wafts of it throughout the day. Love it

A clean, crisp, cedary, refined patchouli. It smells upscale to me and has excellent longevity.

In the dry down, this literally smells like cash!!! Sooo good. Full bottle worthy

Having been quite impressed by Molecule 01 + Iris, I was keen to try this patchouli variant. The original Molecule 01 is simply comprised of Iso-E-Super, a warm, synthetic musky-woody-amber-y note. I find that the addition of another well-chosen note makes for an improvement on the original. While I wasn't impressed by Escentric 01, which was Molecule 01 "enhanced by" lemon and peppery notes, I find that these newer scents are much better. The Iso-E-Super marries beautifully with the patchouli here as it did with the iris note in M01+I. I'm very familiar with Molecule 01, as I know a few people who wear it as their signature, but curiously, I'm anosmic to it on my own skin. M01+P opens with a lovely, soft, clean patchouli note. I find Geza Schoen uses high-quality ingredients alongside the lab-rendered Iso-E-Super in his compositions - the iris of M01+I was powdery perfection, and the patchouli here is smooth, refined and pure. It is lightly herbal, not dirty at all, and more woody than earthy. It is a really elegant, elevated rendering of patchouli, one of the least unchallenging iterations of it I have encountered. Patchouli used to be a difficult note for me, due to its dirty herbalness, and now it is one of my favourites. Regardless, I think that patchouli is at its most approachable here. It is not balsamic, chocolate-like or dusty, and it is certainly not dirty. It is dry, airy and somewhat fresh. Unfortunately for me, I become anosmic to M01+P very quickly, as is the case with the original M01. I had to reapply it several times in order to analyse it for the purpose of this review. The iris in M01+I lingered longer on me, but sadly, it's not the case here. However, I suspect I would be able to smell it on others, as I can with M01. As versatile as the other M01 iterations, M01+I is a year-round, everyday unisex scent. It is smells less synthetic than any of the other M01 variants I've tried already. Again, I estimate its sillage and longevity to be moderate, judging by M01's performance on others. I really like this scent, I just wish I could smell it on myself. 3.5/5.

Noticed Terre d’Hermes in “reminds me of” section and might agree. Okay. First of all, I’m writing down to myself that I need to avoid Iso E... It’s extremely clingy to my skin and it gives me a bothering feeling that I’m totally not a fan of :D I really like this frag, but it seems so weird to me! It feels like you’re walking in the twilight in the woods, thick patchouli and nettle bushes surround your path, and you can almost see oily juice on their leaves. It’s not completely dark, but about twilight, yep. And it’s not really wet, but a bit oily (not strongly balsamic). It’s just... thick. And has a strong note of warm soil (which can give off that flint vibe). The problem of this frag is in the mix of patchouli and Iso E itself. It makes a noticeable smell of paint remover, lol. I clearly smell the Iso E and I clearly smell the patchouli. But together they turn into a nail polish/paint remover notes! I had a hope that it’d go away, but no, this smell stays. Also, this frag is an intimate one, it sits close to skin and idk how’d you notice it from across the room. It seemed like I’ve finally found that perfect swampy dark frag, but Iso E killed it for me personally :(

Exactly what it says on the bottle: Iso E-super + a somewhat fresh, ever so slightly camphoric, patchouli. The choice of the particular patchouli used here is very deft perfumery. The bright notes the patchouli imparts to this fragrance contrast brilliantly with the warm, smooth woody scent of the Iso E-super. There is only very slight progression to this fragrance as the patchouli hangs around for most of the 6-8 hours longevity. Projection is moderate here. Note that as with the original Molecule 01, this fragrance remains present and perceptible to others even if you gradually become anosmic to it. As such, you can be sure the fragrance is "there" even if you only get an occasional whiff of it every so often. This is masterful minimalism. One nice benefit to this fragrance as opposed to Molecule 01 is that the noticeable patchouli element makes it much easier to properly gauge your sprays of M+ than the often hard to detect Iso E-super monoscent. This will get compliments, by the way. So if that is a concern, this scent is a good choice. Recommended.

It took me a while to appreciate this and I couldn't decide how I felt about it at first. Up close it doesn't really smell a whole lot like patchouli to me because I just smelled the ISO E Super far more. I'd spray it on my arm and try to figure it out but that's not how it works. I didn't understand it until I wore it outside one day when it was warm and breezy and I could catch whiffs of it from more of a distance as opposed to burying my nose on my arm. It was only then that I realized how much I liked it. It creates a soft scent bubble around you that is a very clean, airy patchouli. It's nothing like the oil which gives off a thick, deep green heavy aroma. It's almost like the top notes of patchouli oil. It's also has a slightly powdery, mild sweetness to it which is very nice. If you appreciate the different facets of patchouli oil you'll probably appreciate what this offers. To sum it up, I would describe it as sort of a ghost of patchouli. A friendly ghost.

I didn't have high hopes for this one. I hated Escentric 01 and could only pick up a faint cedar note from M01, so I wasn't expecting much. As soon as I removed the plastic-wrap from the box, however, I was hit by a clean, medicinal, bracing, almost menthol patchouli. This refreshing green note is front-and-center throughout the considerably long life of the fragrance, but there's no lavender or anything sweet to turn it into a fougere. My nose still can't pick up ISO E Super very well, but with three sprays to the neck I was catching pleasant whiffs of patchouli for ten hours. Though it sits close, the longevity is impressive. As with most of Escentric Molecules, this minimalist creation s extremely versatile and could be worn in any season, though it's probably best in cooler weather. Leans slightly masculine. The price is a bit high, but I'm hooked.

it's friday and the year is 2012. i'm a freshman in high school and my geometry teacher who looks exactly like santa claus is distributing our weekly tests. as he's handing me a packet, i catch a strong whiff of patchouli oil on his arm. in fact, patchouli emanates throughout that entire classroom from the moment you walk in. patchouli is very polarizing as i found out because I recall the majority of my classmates disliking it. i always enjoyed it and would absolutely take that any day over the smell of sweaty teens, axe, and body odor. Molecule 01 + Patchouli smells exactly like that classroom and my teacher, strong projection and longevity included. i don't know how much i actually liked this on myself, but it definitely transported me to a very specific moment in my life and made me feel nostalgia with a side of yearning. iykyk.

Modern and artsy patchouli, but keeps a really soft earthy vibe from it. It's also a bit fuzzy, with a touch of cashmere. The iso-e super is also there but toned down, giving the fragrance a woody vibe. It is definitely a part of the Escentric Molecules line when you smell this. I think it's great for a spring and fall day or night time scent, layering this with other patchouli based scents could be a nice experience. It reminds me a lot of Terre d'Hermès in the drydown, without orange.

A patchouli that is light, clean and pissy all at once. A smell that you don't know why it's so addicting but it is-- don't know that I'd reach for it personally, but I feel like it's the perfect frag to wear if you want to project an air of confidence -- if you want to be noticed for your subtlety. I know I mentioned Escentric 04 having an aspect of it that reminded me of Riddle Oil Ex, but this really reminds me of riddle oil ex -- that dirty yet clean/mossy smell.

I love this ...but I’m easy because I love patchouli in all its forms. Here is is clean and sleek and a bit green. Leans a little masculine imo. The iso e super bumps up the inherent “woodiness”. Fairly decent projection initially. Straightforward sexy scent that also feels cozy. If you like patchouli I would give this a try. I’m glad that I did. **I went to sleep wearing this and woke up about 4-5 hours later and it was still going strong so pretty good longevity.

This really surprised me! It starts off with a sweet, intoxicating and enveloping velvet-like woodiness. Clean earthiness mixes with a mild and comforting minty accord after a few minutes. This seems to be the only one of the three newest EM creations which has its initial notes continue to dominate well into the dry down. Very much resembles Jo Malone’s Oud & Bergamot with its opening, which I’m a big fan of. This is my favorite creation in the new line.

Molecule 01 patchouli reminds me of Perles de Lalique. There is a musky powdery and fruity vibe w/ this patchouli. It must be how I smell the Iso e super. I do like this but for the price point I like Perles de Lalique better, that one you can get for next to nothing now. This is a nice patchouli not to heavy, or pungent, green, woody, but the Iso e super makes it more feminine to my nose. A lot more musky, sweet and a bit powdery. Nice.

A patchouli scent completely devoid of the musty, camphor inflected angle; as I understand it, it’s been fractionated to remove those uneasy (to some, like me) bits, and with it, any association with dank headshops, and the decades of the 60s and 70s. What’s left is modern, sleek and minimalistic. It does tend to play hide-and-seek with your olfactory senses but it’s there. I think it’s sensual and grounding and it’ll get a lot of wear.

A bit confusing of a skin scent for me... I love patchouli and Molecule 01, but this blend for some reason is more astringent/sour than a realistic earthy/fleshy or creamy scent? Maybe just reminds me too much of an old 80's bag I once found at the thrift store with a leaking bottle of musk that spilled all over the insides, damp and musty.

Smells like a thick, Irish Aran knitted sweater that you've kept in the drawer but haven't worn in a while. The woolen fibers are less supple, maybe even a little hard. The scent is clean, almost transparent. I have the set of 3 Molecule+ fragrances samples and so far I'm enjoying all of them, particularly this one and Mandarine.

I love patchouli and does a great job of centering the scent. Dry, bright, peppery, sensual, approachable. On the masc side of unisex. I could see myself tolerating aggressive flirting for longer than usual if the person was wearing this scent. Overall a bit one-dimensional but I can see this as a great layering option.

Definitely more the of the akigalawood type of patchouli here, and it dominates for the first hour. I don't pick up iso e super the way I did in the original. It still has that dry woodiness but it's in the background. It leans more masculine until it starts drying down and the iso e super comes out.

Not as lovely as the original Molecule 01, the patchouli here kind of turns it to a playdough smell on my skin, but the atmospheric scent around me still smells very nice, like Molecule 01 with a bit of sparkle. I have a bottle of the original though, and don’t really see the need for both.

I smelled this on a friend today and thought it might be Toy Boy. But when I asked her she saied it was this. It made quit a nice airy bubble around her and that well avter spraying. Nothing damp earthy or hippy patschuli in the air. Spicy, fresh, green, herbacius.

I couldn’t smell anything for the first few minutes - which is strange for me as I am not anosmic to iso-e... for a budget friendly bank account, go for Perles de Lalique by Lalique. Exactly the same dry down, earthy, dark and a little dry

I absolutely love the smell of this but it doesn't last more than 20 to 25 minutes on me. I have dry skin so I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it. I love it and use it but not sure if I would spend the money for a second bottle.

Patchouli for librarians, smart and polished, it has that bohemian soul but lacks the usual dirty touches. As a patchouli novice and someone who usually has a trouble with it it’s nice but still I don’t crave it. Reeds woody
