Baume Tolu

This is super-sweet syrupy mess at the opening, but I cannot resist smelling my wrist. It has this amazing, natural quality and it's surprising how good and natural marigold natural smells here. The flower adds to the sweet part some bitter and greet notes and I must say it smells very unique, maybe because I haven't smelled anything else with marigold in it. Anyway - this is a strange, but wearable, extremely sweet and I must say feminine perfume - dark, seductive and a bit herbal/medical from marigold. My second from Esteban and I must say I'm surprised of how good and unique they are. Amazing quality, good staying power (6-7 hours for me). Give it a try.

Dear God, please send me a bottle of this. PLEASE. It smells so, so, so delicious - edible but fresh and absolutely unlike anything else I've ever smelled. It has a vanilla accord and it's pretty strong. I WANT IT NOW.

I just looked through the Esteban on-line shop only to discover this perfume has been discontinued. Which is indeed a pity, the special ones always seem to be out the door the first. I think what most closely resembles it is Carner's El Born.

Baume Tolu is the sweetest fragrance I know. It smells more of tonka bean than baume tolu. Definitely feminine. Somehow I get a similar dried fruits accord as with Arabie by Serge Lutens only much thinner, not as bright.

This perfume has many layers and is wonderful. People who love it really love and I am one of those people. It has great staying power, makes a statement and isn't overwhelming. I highly recommend this frangrance.

It's very warm and comforting scent, quite sweet and feminine. Immortelle is noticeable, giving powdery notes. Also must say that I feel buckwheat porridge aroma here:)
