Beautiful Magnolia Intense

I do really like this scent a lot. This intense version is definitely different as compared to the original Beautiful Magnolia..For starters, the only thing I smell in the opening is the iris note that comes out straight away. If there is cardamom here, I’m not picking it up. I do like it in Masala chai so it isn’t something I hate. I must say, you must be an iris fan to enjoy this scent. It is quite dominant here. For those who are not familiar with the smell of iris, people describe it as waxy, plastic-y, doll head, and vintage lipstick. It’s a bit spicy here, ah there’s the cardamom. I love vintage lipstick so this would be right up my alley. As it dries down, it can be a bit of a lavender, warm spicy scent, but not manly, just a bit spicy. It stays that way through the rest of the wear. I wear another scent that is similar with a more vanilla scent in the dry down. This could work as a day scent and that one for an evening in winter. It really doesn’t get cold here that much. A few cold snaps, but otherwise more like how fall weather is in colder climates. So this will wear nicely here. Longevity is good as well. I’ll use the rest of my small bottle and think about it since I got some compliments already on this. I don’t find this weak at all. If a perfume is strong enough that you can smell it hours later on yourself without raising your wrist to your nose, you may have sprayed too much. When I got compliments from my co workers, one of them was after my wearing it for 4 or 5 hours. The next one was about an hour or two later. So the longevity is decent. I sprayed it around 6:30 in the morning, and came into the office around 11:00. I couldn’t smell it anymore after the first hour, but they (my co workers) could, but not strongly. Just enough to tickle their noses and make them want to come closer. That’s exactly how I like it.

An absolute jewel of a flanker hiding behind two otherwise commercial concoctions of magnolia/peony/white flowers (EDP & Leau). Magnolia Intense has a DEPTH that is just so unique and so unexpectedly captivating. I sprayed this on me at Macy's expecting nothing. As I walked away, I was stopped in my tracks by the aroma emanating from my wrist. A fragrance this spellbinding is a bargain at around $115 for 3.4 oz (when on sale). It's the Chinese magnolia/violet leaf oils on a musky base that makes it exotic and rich and rounds out the brightness found in the OP. More powdery and more green and unlike anything I have ever smelled before. Zero scent associations with it. It stands on its own. I would expect to come across a beauty like this at Aedes or Scent Bar. What a pleasant surprise this is. I have already begun my bottle hoarding. When I wear it, everyone demands to know what I it is. Nothing quite like it on the market, to be honest. What a gem from EL. July 1, 2024 : It's been discontinued. Sigh. Jan 27, 2024 : EL has brought it back in limited quantities at Macy's and Belk in both 1.7 and 3.4 oz sizes.

There are three distinct phases in the progression of wearing this perfume. In broad brushstrokes, I get: • Very high quality, beautiful smooth iris for about an hour. This is what people describe as a lipstick smell. I wish it would stay on this note for 8 more hours. • Pink magnolia sparkles mingled with rich oud wood that has been crushed or splintered to reveal more scent. I imagine magenta glitter on splintered oud wood. • Quiet oud wood that almost turns to chocolate. It is sensual and beautiful. It stays light and wearable enough that it’s likely to be welcome almost anywhere. It is not linear, and this is a good thing. The performance is unexpectedly like a disintegration of the iris followed by a falling apart of the oud wood. There’s magnolia sparkling in the in-between places. It goes near gourmand territory but ultimately veers away from it. The disintegrating quality of the nonlinear life of the perfume on skin is not a bad thing—it’s just a style of progression, and I think that’s a beautiful thing. I think it’s a lot more interesting than most of EL’s crowd pleasers.

Surprisingly youthful for Estee Lauder. Intensely fruity on the initial spray, but it quickly transforms into a comforting woodsy floral. I agree with others who say the patchouli here is clean; it brings in a bit of green freshness without ever veering into marijuana territory. All in all, this is a very well-rounded and inoffensive scent. It's warm and comforting, woodsy without any spiciness, just a beautiful soft feminine aura. It's what I wanted DK Cashmere Mist to be.

Love this !! Much better than the OG BM , amazing iris opening, just wish this note it lasted longer. After it’s a dark magnolia which I like more than the fresh magnolia. I currently wearing it in summer (again European summer which isn’t the real thing) and it works very nicely, last all day but close to the skin. I wash my arm after 8h and the smell reactivated... anyways, it has that Estée Lauder DNA for sure. I love it it feels fancy and not offensive .

I tested this 3 times when it came out and I didn't like it. I decided to revisit it again at Ulta and was surprised that I now like it. Iris is a weird note for me. There are iris fragrances I love right out of the gate and others I just hate. Beautiful magnolia intense was one I had to grow into. It is a dry very powdery iris fragrance and those for me take getting used to but now I see why others love them so much. I'm thinking of picking this up for my collection. I have beautiful belle and Beautiful belle love. EL fragrances are some of my favorites. If you like dry dusting powder like iris, clean patchouli and leather this is a good one. I did a 180 here and I'm glad. I guess the 4th time was the charm... Edit; iris is a fragrance note I have had to grow into. There are several iris fragrances that I was sceptical about or downright disliked and now I love them. It wasn't a note I was exposed to as a child or even as an adult until I started collecting. No one in my life wore iris, not ever. I think I needed more time to understand and appreciate the note. Now I do.

I had this perfume twice. I tried it as soon as it was released as I was intrigued by the notes, especially violet. The overall perfume is flowery and powdery, in a nice way, I could smell the iris and pick up the violet for a short moment and then it warms up and leaves a faint and pleasant powdery dry down. It smells fresh, flowery, slightly sweet, slightly powdery and elegant. Unfortunately it is not very long lasting, turning into a skin scent fairly quickly. Very nice and delicate, shame about longevity 🪻🤍💐

I am not a fan of OG Beautiful Magnolia because it is too aquatic and perhaps ozonic. This is slightly better. A bit more concentrated and as the moniker implies intense. Not great, but not bad either. Maybe I don't like the violet note or the dry down much. But it is still competently formulated. Update: 12/11/2023. I decided to give this another try. I now get more lipsticks Iris but can’t really pick out Violet much. I think this is a cool, alluring perfume. I am liking it more than before. 🥰

I am really digging this scent -- a lovely mixture of flowers and leather. On first blast, all I can is the iris, then the beautiful flowers, citrus, spices and leather start coming through. All of this combined makes me feel very well "put together" and ready to take on the world. Also, I get lots of people compliment on the scent and ask me what I am wearing when I wear this fragrance.

I get a beautiful iris note immediately after spraying. However, to my disenchantment, the iris fades rather quickly and the fragrance dries down to a nondescript amalgamation of floral, powdery and musky notes that does not impress me much.

Gives a Chanel vibe for sure This may start out light and powdery but it becomes more woody and warm in the dry down. Smells classy and is easy to wear. The scent clouded around me all day and I loved it!

Picked this up at Estée Lauder discount store 50ML EDP £55. Buy was a gift for Aunty, she will be happy. Then I smelt tester for the Wonderland, which I liked but out of stock.

Ohhhh nice! Had the original on my list for a relaxing home fragrance...this new formulation is nice enough to wear! Will have to put in a request at Macys.

A feminine, subtle, and very intimate floral scent on a powdery base. Calm, gentle skin scent. A composition for a delicate lady.

Love this. Get a subtle note of tuberose - done the most gentle way I've found in any fragrance. Lasts well.

Its pretty. Powdery. More of an iris type scent. Unfortunately, Weak, silage and longevity. Especially for the price. This surprised me. Lauder perfumes are known for their power and longevity. This is NØT a rich, creamy, heady magnolia. Powdery slightly floral. It is pretty. But, Intense this is not.

This looks right up my alley, as i like the original and love these notes. However, so far it's most similar to lipstick fever, which ld and hated

so i was so excited to get this.......iris violet powdery..........i mean what could go wrong lol..........well it did :( i got this today & was not what i was expecting..............its not bad smelling its just for the whopping sale price (macys) of 94.00 it was def not worth it lol............now once it hits fragrancenet or fragranceX for more than half price off than i would be happy with the purchase lol............ it was def not intense...........the violet was nowhere........iris so faint i had to squish my nose into my arm to get anything & super light on the powder............and disappeared very quickly.............so over all a miss for me well at full price lol it would be a nice simple easy to wear fragrance & very non offensive if u want to pay full price but IMO wait til it hits the discount shops...........

Ever so slightly waxy lipstick accord + Chanel style patchouli (Mademoiselle, not Cormandel) + a little bit of whatever is shrill about the regular Beautiful Magnolia (I might call it a near agressive watery floral freshness lol). During February, I find this one more interesting and actually more subtle, despite the intense name. It projects less, but feels more complex. I think anything in the lipstick-scent universe is going to appeal to grown up women who aren't necessarily looking for "fun" in their scents. The whole class of scents has some gravity, at least to me. It's a little bit glamourous. With that said, I feel right at home wearing this scent in the middle of a Tuesday, as I sit here in sweatpants and a Nine Inch Nails t shirt LOL. So you can take that with a grain of salt!

Absolutely love this, have nothing in my collection like this - although in the dry down there is a distinct note of Chanel. I don't know which Chanel, perhaps Coco Mademoiselle. I have ordered a full size (I had a sample in an order from Nordstrom) and now that I have fallen in love with this and wouldn't you know it's been discontinued, I'll probably order one or two more. Yes, for me it's that good. Already had two compliments today! I don't care so much about that, I just love sniffing my wrists and existing in this beautiful cloud of fragrance!
