Desert Eden

My surprising Summer obsession! I originally tried this scent and the 7 other new "luxury" EL scents last year in the fall when I purchased the deluxe sampler kit. I wasn't wowed by any of them at the time, but they were all pleasant. Because the bottles were so nice, and I'd spent so much money, I of course gave each one multiple chances. By Spring, I'd started to like Desert Rose quite a lot, and I realized that I "needed" a full bottle by May. I purchased the smaller full size [I tend to rotate frags quite a bit, so I never buy the huge bottles]- I have used nearly a third of the bottle now! If most of your favorite fragrances are too heavy and deep for warm weather, Desert Eden is a fantastic seasonal break away that lets you smell sexy and glamorous and mysterious w/o choking people out or being cloying. It dazzles in warm weather especially, and is a great change of pace from the freshie/citrus/jasmine/coconut rut. I don't particularly like smelling like grass or furniture polish, or suntan lotion. Sometimes those fragrances are ok, but they are definitely NOT my faves, and living in a usually hot climate [Sacramento California], it always makes me sad when I have to put my "good" fragrances away by March 1st or so because they just smell awful on hot skin. Along comes Desert Eden, and she is PERFECT. Of course it is a "dry" scent- desert is in the name! Everything around me from May-October is dry and hot, and this fragrance shines in such a setting. It blends perfectly with Mother Nature herself. Are you walking through the woods in the Sierras looking at all the dead undergrowth and worrying about the next fire? This scent calms you. Are you outside in your garden at 10pm watering in the dark so the precious H2O gets a chance to reach the poor plants roots before it evaporates? This scent makes you think that you need to hurry up so you can take a shower and spray more of it on to entice your partner in bed. Are you inside bored as hell because it is the 5th day of a heatwave and you can't be outside for more than an hour w/o risking heat stroke? This sexy warm scent is a happy reminder of Winter, when you get to bring out the big gun perfumes to wear. I love it so much, and it is definitely a fragrance made to be appreciated when it is dry and hot.

I love this perfume. It instantly makes me happy upon first spray. The sandalwood and olibanum are strong but the rose mellows it out in a very elegant, mature way. This combination is my favourite of the moment but I have noticed some other brands are experimenting with the same at the moment. It smells very similar to Tom Ford cafe rose, and Charlotte tilbury cosmic power. It’s on the unisex side for sure but only slightly more feminine (before the dry down). You can tell this was inspired by Arabian fragrances. Edit: this scent is long lasting. Sillage is good for the first hours but doesn’t project far as time goes on. Though in some cases this is okay. The dry down however (after at least 6 hours) does change compared to the initial first few hours. The dried down smell is very dry and genderless and almost no rose is detected. Still a very interesting scent. You are left with dry sandalwood, as if left in a hot desert with 50 years of no rain, with a spread of dry frankincense. Perhaps this is just down to my skin chemistry. I still like this but I do wish the initial scent lasted longer before the change - it just calls for a midday top up to keep the rosy sweetness :)

Blind buy from the brands online store as soon as it got on sale in my area early this year. It sounded really nice and i decided to go for it. Oh. My. Darling. Sweet rose, insane, and peppery sandalwood, all dancing around each other, never quite mixing, and yet working perfectly together. I have yet to figure out which is the dominant smell. On consecutive days of the same temperature, humidity levels, and having eaten and bathed with the exact same things, it smells different: one day it is a sweet rose perfume, followed by smokey incense and just a hint of sandalwood in the back, the next day it's sandalwood scented incense with hints of rose adorning it.... Same exact notes, just different intensities. Absolutely beautiful. Luxurious, and mystical. It lasts way too long on the skin during the colder months, easily reaches 10 hours while holding onto satisfying intensity and good projection. Oh and it is intense. The third day i was wearing it, threw hours after application, my hairdresser was impressed by it and she was double masked!

Desert Eden is, like the other Estée Lauder luxury perfumes, simple and good-quality while familiar. A rich woody-rose scent with an amber base, it is traditional but beautifully formed. It is unisex too, in the way of Middle Eastern perfumery. DE is rose-centred from the opening, initially dewy and increasingly jammy as it develops. It is rich and well-rounded yet somehow light. Woody notes creep in, complementing it beautifully, creating the classic rose bush accord. As it develops, the balsamic base emerges, becoming more prominent as it dries down. The olibanum does not reach full-blown churchy incense vibes, but it provides a beautiful counterpart to the woody rose. It fades to a slightly musky rose scent with the wood and balsamic olibanum giving an almost oud-like effect. Sillage is moderate and longevity is long-lasting. A beautiful, high-quality rose scent, complemented to perfection by the woody and balsamic notes, DE is for rose lovers of any age or gender. A superb classic rose. 4.5/5.

Initially I was aiming to purchase Tender Light as I enjoy tea fragrances. However, upon smelling the entire EL line, Desert Eden has won me over as an outstanding fragrance that both gives an elegant feeling while wearing it and also probably the best longevity from the lineup. Yeah, it is maybe not be the most unique blend. But it does not have to be. Because the rose and frankincense combo here is well crafted, divine, elegant and does not cause fatigue when worn all day long (unlike almost all other rose+incense samples that I have and by hour two of wearing them I grow tired). Actually, it is fresh but with a substance due to the frankincense and sandalwood. It does get that myrrh, almost coca-cola sparkle and that’s what makes it more modern and not stuffy. majority of frags from this line, regrettably, are a let down. A couple are OK. But this one shines and I do regret only purchasing a 40ml bottle instead of the 100ml. My jacket still smells of this 20hrs later. Divine. Signature worthy.

All I can say is wow! This is definitely a feminine fragrance to my nose. At first spray, she is sweet, a little heady, definitely gives a bit of a punch to the back of the nose. Slightly powdery, a little fiz, which gives a tickle of the nostrils as you take a deap breath. The Olibanam is the first thing you smell, and the rose is in the wings, patiently waiting for her time to shine. The 2 mix beautifully. As the fragrance settles, this beautiful, pink, luscious rose takes centre stage. Enveloping around the body like a silk negligee, caressing every curve. Soft, but powerful, delicate but strong. She is a contradiction. She is sensual and refined. This is a classy fragrance, one more suited to a woman who knows how to be feminine, elegant and powerful. Maybe a little bit of a tease... a woman who can dress with class, but will flash that stocking top as she crosses her legs. I absolutely adore this fragrance. It is my new signature, I hope they never discontinue this beauty.

Like most of Estee Lauder’s Luxury Fragrance collection, I suspect there’s more going on than just three notes. Desert Eden’s composition is led by a somewhat smoky and multifaceted frankincense note that fuses with the sandalwood into one, full-bodied accord. A deep, rich, softly spicy Turkish rose flirts and mingles beautifully with the frankincense-sandalwood. Desert Eden doesn’t conform to what I expect in a fragrance composed of rich, dark notes. It doesn’t hang heavily around the wear like one would expect. There is no thick scent cloud here. Instead, the sillage forms feather-light wisps and tendrils around the wearer. I like having a fragrance with dark, deep notes that behaves like a much lighter scent. The lack of olfactory heaviness makes it wearable almost anywhere and in any season. Although it lasts for several hours, it is easy to forget I’m wearing it as it is unobtrusive. Still, it is very beautiful with a unique personality.

Desert Eden is a sensual, rose/sandalwood perfume with a woody twist. Perfect for a summer garden party or wedding. Effortless elegance, sophistication and luxury I see a woman who have an understated sense of style yet she always gets you right between the eyes. Natural, whipped, light and perfectly blended creamy sandalwood rose, maybe the olibanum makes it that much more creamy and smooth. Stunning rose, nothing mature or vintage. The rose here smells like the rose in Oud Ispahan! There’s no Oud in this at all. It’s a luxurious and sophisticated rose and my current favourite rose is Atomic Rose and Diptyque Eau Rose. At the perfect biting point so those who doesn’t like rose could enjoy this. Also, those who doesn’t care for floral/sugary sweet scents. This lasts for ages and it projects! 8/10. I would repurchase and 100% recommends.

I can see in the comments below that it is a polarising fragrance. And there’s no better way to make an entrance! I’m on the side that loves this one and use it as one of my everyday fragrances because of the complements I get. This is a complex rose accord with fruity and citrusy undertones. It’s a bit harsh to start with but then it calms down influenced by the creamy sandalwood, notes of orris and violets which are not a dominant ingredient but you’ll notice how powdery and oily the base appears to be at the drydown because of this marriage. Then the brilliant use of frankincense that corresponds so well with the citrusy opening of the damascene rose accord. It brings the balsamic weight and vanilic sweetness. It’s not as simple as it appears and it steals hearts. 9/10

When I read the notes and description, I knew this was the one I wanted to try the most out of the entire EL Luxury collection. It was a love at first sniff for me. Anne Flipo absolutely captured her inspiration of being in an ancient temple with this one. I grew up in Thailand and this fragrance reminds me of mixed floral bouquets during Buddhist celebrations on a warm day with a hint of incense in the background. The incense is very light and is a smooth light powdery scent. I can see this becoming a very comforting all year scent for me. Perfect for every day, office and even special occasion wear. It makes me feel feminine and put together.

This is a gorgeous signature scent to me. I'm surprised it has more negative than positive reviews. It reminds me of Santal Royal especially in the opening but with a more prominent jammy rose. This is an elegant scent and i dont find it as dry as some YTbers said it is. If you're used to creamy white florals and fruity florals, you may not like this. If you're a rose & sandalwood lover, you may feel it's nothing new. I love the rose note. Sandalwood, not so much but I really like this perfume. Suitable for everyday use IMO. The sillage is intimate- moderate so you won't feel like your scent is slapping people. Well blended for sure.

This is my favourite in the line - a luxurious sophisticated hypnotic regal rose supported by wood and incense. Deep, exotic and tantalizing. It is just as effective as the more expensive rose/oud/incense fragrances without being bombastic and pretentious. I am a guy and I find it totally wearable and unisex. Having said that, the line is being discontinued. I was at an EL store today and noticed most of the Luxury Collection moved to the "last chance" clearance section. I spoke to the EL Co SA and she confirmed that Desert Eden along with others was being discontinued and now is the time to buy a bottle if you ever considered it.

Gorgeous fruity juicy rose to start that manages to be transparent and very present. The sweetness is sweet/tart with that slightly tangy kick. Tinkling around it are warm spicy touches and a woodiness that becomes more apparent with time. The rose is always present but the spiciness and that tangy, now amber edge, stays the course. For me the rose never gets too heady or syrupy. It’s not a fluffy rose and not a feminine one either. Smack bang unisex. I’m enjoying how airy all the scents in this line are but also, how well they wear and project. Solid. My 4ml mini spray of this needs to become a full one. Truly beautiful.

I really hate being the first reviewer of a scent here, but I figured someone wants to know, right? This one is a very fluffy, powdery sandalwood with a floral background. I dont get rose specifically, just a soft pink floral to round out the powdery sandalwood. There is a very soft incense behind it all, not a heavy incense as some others in my collection- this whole scent is very soft and powdery overall. This one may not be "groundbreaking" but it is very pleasant and wearable (and long lasting!)- especially if youre into the dryer powdery woods type scents. I may get a bottle.

I had gotten a sample of this around the release time and absolutely fell in love with it. A few years later I went to the el website and I couldn't member the name but only the notes and I couldn't find in anywhere and gave up. Later I couldn't take it any more and actually went searching for it and finally found it again. The first time i smelled it again it was so nostalgic and it really took me back to 2021. Personally I love the confident vibe I get when I put this on, it makes me want to put on my best outfit and dress up really nice.

Bought the small wonders set... Tes it on my skin, 1 parfume every night... I must admit, this is one of my favourite out of the collections. It smells so good on my skin, I like how the rose and sandalwood mixing together.... It's a classy, elegant parfume. Would love to buy the full bottle... I would suggest people to go with their small wonders set, all of it smells soooo beautiful, soooo wonderful... I would love to buy another miniature of small wonders set for my collections

Mesmerizing. It opens freshly and rosy, sharply rosy due to the incense. But it’s fresh and airy. Then it calms down into a mesmerizing sandalwoody scent. It’s not rosy nor airy anymore but sandal powdery and tender. I can only detect rose and a bit incense/olibanum at the opening but very classy and elegant and feminine and so that it doesn’t act dominant as in a masculine scent. Worth the blind buy. I was tense on that one. My first EL try.

This perfume is unique (to me) and gorgeous. To my nose, there is a camphorous opening that I am enjoying. It is very soft but I’m not around anyone so I couldn’t tell you if it radiates. The camphor recedes about 10 minutes in on my skin. A dry, woody rosiness comes to the forefront. It isn’t sweet but it isn’t dry, either. I am enjoying the sample set I got. I will have to wear it more to decide if I need a full bottle.

This is literally magic; captivating even if you don’t care much for rose, the resin and sandalwood help mellow and spice it up but this is just creamy gorgeous heavenly MAGIC! Especially for sandalwood lovers, but I just treated and got a refill on clearance at my local frag shop under $40 for a 100ml so score!! Couldn’t be happier!! ☺️💃🏻✨Try it! N easily unisex in best most balanced way!

I absolutely love this perfume. It’s refined, elegant and so easy to wear in hot and cold weather, day and night. It’s a linear scent which I really enjoy. I can smell creamy rose sandalwood and it’s just perfect. Less is more done right. I would say longevity is above average but not super lasting 6-8 hours and after the sixth hour it’s a skin scent.

A standout from the collection, Desert Eden has a delectable Eastern resonance in its flight with its toothy Turkish rose and a sumptuous cardamom note. It then veers away from the Near East, taking a very enjoyable rose / resin trajectory. Excellent quality and suprisingly good despite Lauder's somewhat sanitised packaging. Backup bottle-worthy.

This is a beautiful scent, if only it lasted longer. I had to keep reapplying and for the price, I expected more and it left me wanting. A shame really as it has potential but not worth the price.

This smells so wonderful... as my husband commented: “it smells like the sultan’s pajamas”... having said so.. he means it kind of leaves an oriental scent... it is so delicious... loved it

This smells like Italian cola and rose. Absolutely gorgeous. Just like cola, it smells both warm and cozy and cool and refreshing at the same time. Another winner from this fantastic line!

If rose 31 by Le Labo had a sister, this would be it. More floral and feminine. It still has a strong peppery note which makes me feel this is a more summer heat perfume. Quite sexy too!

I spoke with Estee Lauder customer service.....The new Luxury Fragrance Collection ..Discovery Set (all 8 samples set) will be available in November 2021.

I will not elaborate a lot so I'll just say: best rose fragrance ever (to me, in my opinion, allegedly, don't fight with me if you disagree).

A younger sister to Lauder's Amber Mystique and Clinique's ( so also Lauder's ) Beyond Rose. So considering those two are discontinued the a good option for those desperate for a replacement ( unless it's also gone by the time you read this ! All to often the case , these days ). Yes, it's definitely in that category of westernised Arabic fragrances that are based on a combination of rose and woody / vaguely oudhy / vaguely resinous notes. That's not a criticism though. You can't call it Arabic but it's a useful touchstone. I was quite rude about this range of Lauder of fragrances when I tried my first one , Paradise Moon, I probably should blame myself for going for one of the least interesting ones. It's simply a knock-off of ( sorry, homage to ) Pleasures which isn't one that passed the test of time anyway and belongs back in the 90s. I'm a card carrying vintage fan, so a lot of these possibly aren't intended to appeal to me anyway. I just think it's strange that Lauder has this amazing back catalogue and thinks this is what passes for "Premium" fragrance these days. It's no Azuree or Alilage, that's for sure A few of also pointed out on reviews of different fragrances from this range that they made a lot of fuss about having this unique technology that allowed them to last for 24 hours . They don't. Well most don't . Yet they can still make ones that do ( step forward Aromatics Elixir and Youth Dew ) 🤷🏼♀️ All that said Desert Eden ( crap mane, they all are ) is a really nice woody ,rose fragrance . It's not got the heft or complexity of either of the ones I mentioned and it's certainly doesn't have the quality of sandalwood that something like something like Samsara once had . It's nice though and I'll definitely wear it throughout Autumn and Winter ( Edit: I did ! ) One other thing I decided to buy the refill because a, we should, b, I got it for a really good price and I happen to have an empty 40 mil bottle from another of the range a friend didn't want. Makes sense right ? Clean it out and use the refill. Except it doesn't work. Lauder themselves on their website assure you that the 10, 40 and 100 mls are ALL refillable and links to a video showing exactly how to refill them: you don't just remove the nozzle ( which does come off ) you remove the collar section underneath so you've basically got an open screw top bottle, turn the refill upside down, press and it refills. Except it doesn't. The top doesn't come off the 40 mls or at least it didn't , maybe this one's just too old and they decided to update them. Who knows ? Just a friendly warning...

I thought I had reviewed Desert Eden--of which I bought a travel sprayer, after falling for Tender Light and this one from the discovery set--but I can't find my review, so I guess I never did. I like but do not love this one, even though I'm crazy about rose and sandalwood, and I also like olibanum and leathery resinous ambery notes. This is appealing--the sandalwood is crisp and dry, without any of the "dill pickle" overtones that I dislike, and the rose is the right balance of tart and jammy, with some pretty green aspects--but it doesn't seem particularly special when I compare it with similar perfumes with this basic profile. It smells smoother and more conventionally American-European than, say, Club de Nuit Intense by Armaf, and not as prickly-provocative as Perles de Lalique or Estee Lauder Amber Mystique. I don't get nearly as much incense or anything in the way of an oud. It's not as patch-scratchy and sylvan as Perles, much less Agent Provocateur Miss AP or Elizabeth + James Nirvana Rose, but it's also much more likely to make you feel calm, serene, and reasonably put together. A clean and dry mental oasis of sorts. I wore Dune earlier, and that fragrance is so much more complex than this one--and so much more like what I would associate with the desert. I guess the emphasis here should be on the Eden, even though I do appreciate the relative dryness of the woods and ambers here. Dune is more like salty beach driftwood--it billows, whereas Desert Eden shimmers and ripples like a mirage. My husband would never wear Desert Eden or any of the other fragrances I have listed, but I really would love the rose/sandalwood/olibanum juggernaut on a man, I think. Not that the women shouldn't wear it, too, just that I think more men should add rose fragrances to their repertoires.

Desert Eden is a nice warm sandalwood and resinous rose. It isn't overwhelming, this isn't an oud smoky rose. Just a pretty Turkish rose that has been warmed by sandalwood and resins. Light enough to wear in the daytime but it will take you into the evening for a date night or cocktails, dinner out w/ friends etc.. Classy, refined and elegant. This type of fragrance is a must have for a rose lover. Edit: I revisited all of these again for the 3rd time just to make sure I didn't miss anything and w/ this one I did. There is a Sichuan pepper note w/ this one and a slight bergamot. This is a dry rose, hence the name Desert Eden. An interesting take on rose. Slightly green (barely) slightly peppery and warmed by sandalwood and resins. This is a dry desert rose. I am considering this for a purchase as well, it is very different and new take on rose I haven't smelled before. Edit:12/26/21 I gave this a full all over wear (when I 1st test a perfume, I strip test and then wear on my hand for an hour or so before I review) I was going to buy Radiant Mirage, but my husband went crazy for this one so Desert Eden was the winner. Again, in my opinion the 3 winners of this line are Desert Eden, Radiant Mirage, and Tender Light

I was cleaning out my perfume closet and happened upon this purse size travel spray. I dont even recall buying it, i may have got it as a gift. I wore it to give it a try and i really like it, different than anything else i have, but i cant figure out if i would be inclined to reach for it often. The first word that comes to mind is DRY. It has absolutely not one smidge of sweet accords. My fave sandalwood is yves roche voile d’ocher, but i tend to wear that one to bed or to relax as i find it meditative and relaxing, and that one is also dry but not as dry as this! This one i think would be too strong for a meditative sleep scent, for me anyway. Has anyone else seen the parallels between the estee lauder lux line and the tory burch line that came out around the same time? I got a free discovery set from the tory burch outlet as a promo and when i saw the names of the estee lauder lux line they seemed very much like a copy although im not sure which line came out first...i really wonder if there was some corporate espionage. Neither line was very successful in the end.

Desert Eden is the best fragrance in the Estee Lauder small wonders "luxury line". When I say best, I'm referring to both the scent and the performance. Infinite Sky smells better to me, but it falls apart in the dry down on skin. Desert Eden and Tender Light are probably the two fragrances worth the money in the line up, given that I expect a luxury line to have excellent performance. Desert Eden opens with a buttery sandalwood folded into rose and an opulent base. As the fragrance dries down, the incense starts to shine through, with a touch of smoke and oud. It reminds me of a tame, smoothed out version of Oud Palao with the animalic notes turned down, although not completely down. Like OP, DE is somehow simple and complex at the same time. I would classify DE as an incense, and although it isn't the most original fragrance out there, it is just so well done. I'm not sure when I would wear this rich, over-the-top incense. Maybe to formal events? Above average projection and longevity 4/5

A very incency, creamy, warm, slightly resinous rose. Created to emulate the expensive Middle Eastern style of perfumery (Amouage, Ojar) but very subdued and catered to a European/American market. An amber heavy, incence and soft woods combined with a nice dose of rose. Not too deep though and a bit generic. I am not big on rose perfumes at this stage of my life but I find Desert Eden a perfectly balanced, feminine, elegant, creamy, sweet pink rose. Not the type of dark, burgundy rose kind of scent. I find this overpriced as I found Infinite Sky. If I wouldn’t have been familiarised with brands from the Middle East I would probably be interested into getting a bottle of Desert Eden. But know I know there’s better, stronger, richer even though those are double the price of this Luxury Collection. Maybe for half off I would buy a bottle, they are perfectly fine fragrances after all... Curious to get my nose on Oasis Dawn next. That one seems to have a promising fig pimento leaf combo..

At first whiff of Desert Eden, I get some sandalwood and a watery rose note. It then starts to feel resinous as olibanum comes to the fore. The fragrance then smoothens out into a slightly spicy rose with less of the woodsy tones. Rose fragrances are a hit or miss for me and those I enjoy the most are either heavier rose and patchouli or rose and oud combos, jammy rose, or fresher rose (preferably with violet) scents. This one falls somewhere in between, light enough for warmer evenings and cooler afternoons but not too airy or unsubstantial. I like it well enough to keep the bottle (for now) but I don't think I'll be reaching for it as much as a lot of my other scents.

I bought the set of 8, 4 ml bottles, which I thought was great value and an excellent idea - more companies should do this with their collections and flankers, and give up those 100 ml bottles - do they think I am running a dance company or something similar ? I digress. I like all the fragrances in this collection, but this one is my favourite. Unusually fresh sandalwood, (normally I don't like woody fragrances much, especially anything with oud). The rose note reminds me of genuine Middle Eastern turkish delight. Lasts for hours, can still smell something at bedtime after morning application. Very uplifting. Will probably buy a full bottle soon.

I won't comment on the name... Perfumer is of course fantastic, and this is in fact an excellent rose perfume. Revisiting sample which has had time to mature, so rose is fully present and fresh, and base stays away from anything too heavy (olibanum is just the right amount). I don't think there is anything middle eastern about this; to me it comes across as rose garden after it rained. Hence the absurdity of the name... If the company was aiming for Lutens territory, this is not it.

The sandalwood is gorgeous and it lifts up the rose in a delicate but powerful dance together. I love how it dries down on me; the effect is a sensual rose with that woody warmth still leaving a subtle spiciness. It dried down powdery on my friend however when she tried it so I thought I'd add that in. My skin chemistry kept the rose very well and I found this lasts for ages!

From 8 MINI WONDERS: It's very rosey in the opening, and I love roses, but, the roses are lost later on... the drydown on my skin is okey, bob-bob, ... I think I must think of it (give me more whitevine and Tina Turner) ...

This one grew on me. When I first smelled it, I didn’t think it was good, but not bad either. There’s somehow teeny-bit of plum-like smell, but in a classy way.

This scent opens divine in the cold air. It gives that warm and truly comforting feeling of protection against the hard weather conditions...

I love myself a rose perfume and this one is really nice. its fresh and jammy, and the sandalwood brings it into creamy territory.

Good light frank sense, not murky, not churchy. Rose is light and nice. Full Bottle Worth for me.

It's OK, ended up smelling a lot more mature on my skin than I prefer. Kind of incense-like, which seems to be the theme for how my nose interprets so many Estee Lauder scents - I usually get all incense and/or powders, and smells like what 50+ yr old women smelled like when I was growing up. I apparently even get these impressions from the newer releases. Even though I'm slowly creeping into that "mature" age bracket, I just can't wear these scents. It's odd, as I LOVE the Bronze Goddess Eau Fraiche and almost would consider that my signature scent, as it turns into such a sexy skin scent on me. I layer it often with other perfumes, and it performs amazing with any sandalwood or coconut scent. Desert Eden was the best one I tried out of this collection, though it wasn't really special to me. My spouse liked it on me. I ended up selling my bottle. It almost reminded me of Youth Dew a bit, with the incense, but this has more distinct rose and is sweeter, less complicated. I'd definitely consider this "feminine" and would be quite surprised by a man wearing this, nothing about it reads masculine at all to me.

A woody rose fragrance has so much potential, which is why this one piqued my interest especially. Yet getting my hopes up proved to be my first mistake—Desert Eden comes across as uninspired and one-dimensional. The rose here is flat and lacks depth, neither lush and fresh nor rich and powerful, just a faint musky floral that fades into an equally unimpressive woody base. The woods themselves are generic, not sandalwood-creamy nor soft and closer to a hollow echo of imitation cedar that doesn’t bring character. The spice here is inexplicably subtle too—for some reason this whole line veers away from drama and intrigue, quietly exists to please the noses of, well, I can't even know. If a "Desert Eden” looks like this, damn... I'll take the abyss then, thanks!

The bottle and the juice inside are very pretty, light and fresh. The fragrance itself feels very old fashioned and a bit heavy to me, unlike its beautiful light pink color. It is a rose, and a woody rose. I feel like I’ve smelled various versions of this so many times over the years. Kind of classic, but not in a sophisticated or interesting way. I’m not going to make a grandma comment because I hate those but....it is a little matronly.

This combination of rose and olibanum smells like something very heavy and resinous. I love roses in perfumes but not this one. It is heavy and almost unpleasant, similar rose is in one of the Lancome rose collection perfumes Storm Rose ... I’d say this definitely needs to be tested before purchase because of this very distinct spin on rose.

VERY Arabic. It's the kind of rose that lots of women from the Middle East love to wear. Olibanum is strong but well blended with rose. If not oversprayed, this can be good. If oversprayed, it's nauseating.

Balsamic rose. Nothing breakthrough, nothing new. It's quite well done, a little vintage, a little incense-y. The bottle is simple but beautiful. Sadly, I didn't detect any sandalwood.

There is no way the notes for this are only sandalwood, rose, and olibanum. There's quite a bit of something herbaceous, minty, and mildly antiseptic in here. It's an odd juxtaposition to jammy rose and something else in the base that's sweet and resinous (the olibanum?). I did not like this but it does have good sillage. If traditional airy, dewy garden rose fragrances, or sweet vanillac rose fragrances, are not your cup of tea, this may be worth a try.

Like not love. This is very very mature. This is way better in the dry down of you can get pass the grandma harsh rose smell. This also smells like something you would find in a sanitary bin or bathroom to combat bad odors. Definitely won’t be buying a 3.4 my 10 ml shall definitely suffice. A better rose scent imo would be Hermes Eau Poivree.
