Dream Dusk

This is my second favourite out of this new prestige line of EL scents. First of, it is finally a cherry blossom scent that is neither stuffy and powdery (like Acca Kappa, Guerlain) nor too synthetic (like Floris), but instead it's a soft, creamy unsweet cherry blossom, coming with a slighty fresh and sour berry note which keeps the scent fresh instead of overly sweet for me. In the base after 2-3 hours the cherry blossom remains wonderfully creamy and soft on my skin, still no stuffiness or sugar-sweetness or anything else that would disturb the scent. And I have to agree with some other reviewer: also I am reminded of the 90s in a very positive way. I do not smell haispray in this scent, but this creamy fresh pink cherry blossom reminds me of some high end cosmetics I used back then, although I can't remember exactly what it was - maybe some expensive bodylotion? But the immediate memory is feeling young, totally carefree and happy. I really like the whole idea of EL behind this perfume line, especially the design of the bottles. So, if you have tried to find a cherry blossom scent but haven't succeeded yet, maybe give this one a try. I really like it, and so much I ordered a full bottle today after wearing the sample for five days in a row.

There is a huge selection of perfumes on the cosmetics market, most of them are the same and it was very hard for me to choose one, and I decided go to the Estee Lauder stand and Dream Dusk was the last one I smelled, I took a paper strip home, then I smelled it for a few days, then I ordered 4ml, and then I knew that this was what I was looking for! I used one scent for almost 10 years from different brand but unfortunately they discontinued that perfume. I am very sensitive for smell. I like light fresh,subtle smell, but not heavy. I like when perfume smells on clothes which this one do. When I took of cardigan and wear next day still smell beautiful. I really recommend this perfume and I'm sure I will buy refills. Dream Dusk is my favorite from this whole line. I own about 4 or 5 of them and while they’re all just okay, this one really stood out. Very feminine, light, floral, sweet, and overall just really beautiful. I bought the travel atomizer of it, which in itself is beautiful. I went back a couple days later to buy the full size refill because I know that I will be wearing this scent regularly and will need to refill it. It feels like one of those scents that is inoffensive, making it an easy wear. Great for spring or summer but I think could be nice in the winter as well (January or February, not so much a December scent though as that’s the month that I gravitate towards spicy gourmands). In my opinion, this is probably the safest blind buy from this line. I’ve worn it a few times now and am really enjoying it. Will be in my regular rotation.

At 1st spray, I was thinking "well, this is not that great"... but after 1 minute it dries on my skin, it starting to smell amazing... it's waaayy better on my skin. It is fresh and elegant... I smell bit spicy on my skin, which I love about it. Btw, I'm in Jakarta Indonesia and it is humid in here... so maybe it will smell different in another country. It is great for a fresh floral lover... Only issue in here is that it didn't last that long on my skin... I'm addicted to the smell, so I have to re-spray it over and over... 😭

I find this scent very easy to wear daily. The geranium surprisingly has very soft performance. At first this scent felt mostly on the female sight but later I could sence better the unisex vibe. It's definitely on the fresh sight and wonderful choice for warmer weather ,not sure about hot weather. The cherry blossom is prominent. The currant blossom is bringing sweet and natural freshness. Over all very nice scent!

Gorgeous scent. I have tried all scents in the luxury line, and this one is my favorite, followed by tender light. I like floral, fruity aromas, and this one smells like illuminating flower petals. Sparkly and lush at the same time. It lasts a long time, and I love the magnetic cap. Update: 06/18/2023. I sprayed again, and it is elegance at its finest. Regal even. Love. Masterfully blended.

Beautiful geranium, fresh, floral but more like fresh cut florals not creamy florals. Overall, one of the best in that line. I have over 200 fragrances and Have been reaching for it since I got it. Love it! It is not boring. It is very refreshing on a nice spring day and it lasts. Some similarities to the Lancome O line due to freshness.

I love this so much. It’s a lovely spring scent. Would wear this with some nice pink or pastel-colored sundress. Bought this over a business trip to Tokyo in the spring when the cherry blossoms bloomed, so it was very fitting.

A pure sweet but not choking floral scent. I think it's dominantly geranium, as cherry blossom is scentless. Love a good geranium scent!

The drydown is so feminine, pretty. Lovely cherry blossoms. Excellent for a sassy sundress with Skechers on a warm night.

Wear tested it today from a department store tester. Too cherryish for me, too 'modern', I thought it smelled cheap.

If you love eau d eden, you'll love this. Even better, it's refillable at a cheaper price.

A pretty and unremarkable, slightly aquatic floral freshie that reminds me a bit of OG Pleasures, a bit of OG Daisy by Marc Jacobs. I don't know if there are truly three notes in Dream Dusk (why do all the names for this EL luxury line sound like highfalutin cannabis strains?) or if they're just presenting a simplified profile to market this juice as clean and minimalist, in the Henry Rose tradition or something, but I definitely smell more than black currant blossoms, cherry blossoms, and geranium. I have no clue what the "hope of new beginnings" would smell like, but it amuses me that the perfumer would choose an "evanescent" scent to convey this concept. I discern what seems to me like a slightly waxy hyacinth/iris accord, maybe some orris powder, but those do not seem to be listed as notes. Color-wise, they would have worked with "dusk," though. All that said, I like this about as much as I like Tender Light and way, way more than Sensuous Stars, the only other two fragrances that I have smelled from my Mini Wonders discovery set. As DD dries down, it reminds me more of my beloved Jaipur Bracelet, and it starts to smell more like a green floral and less like an aquatic one, but overall it will not plug a hole in my collection, so I do not need a full bottle. But I would be sincerely delighted if someone gave this to me. The quality is high, and the longevity is probably better than moderate on paper and on fabric. I also think the bottles are elegant. But the perfume names are beyond cheesy. Update: Tender Light has really grown on me, so much so that I bought a full bottle. My impressions of Dream Dusk remain the same as before. It's pretty, but I can't justify buying it.

I just received a sample of Dream Dusk. So far I’m really into this scent because it’s a total 90s nostalgia trip for me. The first blast of fragrance is pure fruity hairspray with an aquatic undercurrent. It brings me right back to my teen years of getting ready to go out, doing my hair, and wearing fruity fragrance oils from the little hippie stores and Oceanus oil from the Body Shop. Maybe that sounds a little horrid, but I love it. There is something that grounds the fragrance, makes it feel a tiny bit more mature and expensive. A tiny bit. I could definitely see a range of ages wearing this, from 20s on up. The initial sharp, fuzzy fruity floral aquatic hit eventually dies down on my skin into a deeper and richer version of the top notes. The only part I’m not digging is the very, very end of the dry down. I applied the fragrance around bedtime and woke up to a lingering musk scent close to the skin that I just didn’t care for. It definitely lasted over 12 hours on my very dry skin. Sillage is a little over arm’s length. It’s a super pretty, sparkling, sweet scent from a distance. I don’t know if this is full bottle worthy and some might find it basic (I mean, it kinda is), but I am really enjoying Dream Dusk thus far.

This starts as a very fresh floral, with a lovely, strong geranium note. I personally adore geranium and there just never are enough fragrances with that note as dominant. A subtle fresh spicy aspect comes out as it dries down. At this point, I like that the cherry blossom is identifiable, but not disgustingly sweet or fruity, as in most fragrances. At maturity, there is a slight herbal-ness as well, which of course plays nicely with the geranium and contrasts with the other florals. At first, it reminds me of Aerin's Wild Geranium, but the two fragrances diverge quite a bit after they mature. Dream Dusk is cooler and fresher, and it definitely has less rose (but still some). Wild Geranium is warmer, woodier, and has better lasting power and projection. While a really enjoy Dream Dusk, I think the lack of lasting power is a deal breaker for me. Going through this entire line, I've found the staying power to be fairly good in general. However, this one would just be frustrating in that it doesn't stick around long enough for my tastes. I do recommend this for geranium lovers to sample - it's beautiful and the projection/lasting might be a non issue for other folks.

This is a very beautiful, light scent. Perfect for morning or spring/summer mornings or days in general. Light, airy - could pass for very very expensive body wash or shampoo. Smells wealthy and put together for morning/day- nothing gourmand or woody about this. Fresh, sophisticated, smells like an elite woman's signature scent - nothing overpowering just perfect for skin, hair, and clothing and stays on clothing. It feels like it would be someone's day to day signature scent - safe and lovely. I also have tender light from this luxury estee lauder line, for what it's worth I find these overpriced. I had smelled them in a store but could not bite the bullet on pricing. I just don't think I can justify the pricing on them for what they offer. However, I really wanted them because they were just what I was looking for (likeable summer scents for travel - lovely, inoffensive, non-headache inducing) and luckily, estee lauder had them both half off that day online so I purchased both for a very reasonable price!

This got to be the worst named scent of the entire Luxury Collection of Estée Lauder. Because unlike the name, which makes one think of dark, deep, sultry scent, the perfume itself is a happy, bright scent that makes me think more of a sunrise than of the dusk. Dream Dusk smells very airy, floral, fresh, girly, spring like, with a bit of fruity aspect, almost ethereal. It’s the perfect scent for cherry blossom lovers and people who like generally speaking fresh, floral perfumes, with a hint of sweetness, on the light side. To be completely honest, none of these EL perfumes are really rich, dense scents. Some perform better than others, this is weaker. I find it very pleasant, pretty, feminine and crowd pleasing, but slightly overpriced. It’s more of a subtle, a skin scent with moderate longevity, especially if applied on clothing. I would wear Dream Dusk for spring and summer because it’s just right for warmer weather but only if I could get it for half price off. It’s really nice and enticing.

Dream dusk is an interesting take on Cherry Blossom. I usually don't like cherry blossom fragrances. I don't even care for the smell of cherry blossoms in nature, I always found them to be cloying and sickening so I thought out of all the fragrances in this line this one would be a bust for me. Others in this line disappointed while this one I ended up liking. I think the geranium really stands in this one and keeps the cherry blossom from dominating the whole composition of the fragrance. Geranium is a strong fragrance. I wear the essential oil to keep bugs away when I am out birding and it works, they hate the smell and I love it and don't have to smell like DEET chemicals. This is a well-blended fresh spicy and fresh pink floral that will work best in spring and cooler days in the summer.

I was fortunate enough to come across this yesterday at my local Dillards- I had no idea about this release, but the bottles caught my eye (very pretty, and nice magnetic caps too!) The blackcurrant is definitely the most prominent to my nose, woven in with strong cherry blossom and some sort of clean musky accord (assuming the geranium)- it seems to balance the dirty berry fruitiness of the currant. Its definitely one of the more "perfumy" of the bunch, but I honestly sort of like that about it- its not a shy scent at all. Overall I enjoyed this one.

Quite pretty, bright and fresh. A tinge of green but not in a screechy way. Slightly watery, ending in a nice, realistic geranium note. I don’t think this is one I’ll replace, it’s a bit too airy for me but it’s very pretty and while not ground breaking, it is a little different than most florals. It’s got a bit of that amethyst, purple vibe from the late 90s but done in a more expensive way.

It doesn't smell like cherry blossom at all! I smell definitely geranium as the star of the show, with some vegetal, bitter notes, and a strong impression of a sappy and bitter rose. and the soapy drydown is really something I love. really outstanding, simple but effortlessly elegant. this smells a LOT like Lyric Man by Amouage, guys! 😏 (which I love, as well)

Its not bad: fresh and clean. However projection and longevity are not strong. Also it reminds me a soap from a granny's vanity. Not very complex scent. Though it is not bad for young girls or just daily generic freshie. I can not justify the price as there are many more interesting fragrances in this category available in the market at a lower price.

A fresh aquatic floral scent - almost sparkling in the opening. It smells like the colour of the juice - pink, feminine and refreshing. Long lasting - I get whiffs throughout the day. I picture someone in a floral-patterned sun dress wearing this.

In some ways, it reminds me of Insolence, but with the tart red berries replaced with sticky plums. The powdery accord here is a but stronger, too. It’s a pleasant enough everyday scent, but ultimately not something I see myself rushing to get.

I tried this perfume in a department store. From the descriptions it sounded like this would be my favourite and it is. It’s a fruity floral scent that reminds me of daisy dream because it’s very smooth, but a bit deeper.

Geranium, something aquatic and a VERY subtle cherry blossom note. About halfway through the wear something in it begins to smell out of place on my skin then I get a strong cucumber scent. Not memorable at all. It’s very light and crowd pleasing. Sillage sits close to skin. It was tested and reported to last 12 hours according to the card I received from Estée Lauder with my fragrance. However, it only lasted about 6 hours on my well moisturized skin. Dream Dusk smells like 2 other fragrances I recently tested within the past 2 weeks so for me this is an easy pass. Once my sample is done, I would not purchase this fragrance. I consider this a safe blind buy since it’s so basic, linear and crowd pleasing. It’s a clean aquatic subtle floral. I’d likely only wear this around the house while I’m chilling or cleaning. This could be unisex due to the clean aquatic notes albeit a feminine leaning unisex. I bought it because it was on a massive sale, and by gosh, I was going to buy a perfume that day and this was the one that seemed good. I've liked other scents in the line, especially Paradise Moon, which I'm in love with, and Radiant Mirage, which I thought was a nice pachouli. I bought it as a blind buy because I couldn't really smell it in the store. Yes, the siliage is that pathetic. I took it home and discovered it's a super safe blind-buy, inoffensive, rated E for Everyone. Basic, as others have said, is right. It's nice, but nothing I'd ever go for if it hadn't been on a 75% off sale from an already marked-down price. Its florals are indistinct and muddied. "Cherry blossom" and "Geranium" should be "generic floral from the cold, dead brain of a computer". It's a great perfume for turning invisible. The longevity is performative-- at least 5 hours. That's the best part of this fragrance, and even that is mediocre.

As soon as I sprayed this, I was instantly reminded of Pleasures. Does it smell exactly like it? No, absolutely not. However, there is something in it that is incredibly similar. As it dries down, this goes away. Thank goodness!! I have a visceral negative reaction to Pleasures or anything similar due to a former coworker absolutely suffocating me with it! This is more rounded out, softer and more sophisticated. It’s pretty, soft and understated. Still, I don’t like it. It’s just not my style. Nothing wrong with it, it’s just not me.

I feel a powdery note in this fragrance, although I'm not entirely certain which note creates this impression. To me, it's not the scent of dusk but more like flower dust. It's not overly fresh, with a subtle hint of sourness. I used the entire vial, and I can say it's suitable for everyday use, which I appreciate as I prefer versatile fragrances. I'm eager to explore it further, so I have a travel-sized version to delve into.

I got a free sample of this and went in blind without checking the notes. Literally would've never guessed this had cherry blossom in a million years.. I had to double check to make sure I searched up the correct name. it smells similar to an amber & vanilla perfume I used to have weirdly, but either way it smells pleasant! It's just very basic and not something I'd ever buy or wear myself and it faded pretty quickly

Dream Dusk Estée Lauder (Store test, ELCA sale) Dream Dusk is light floral scent, pink and aquatic to my nose. It smells like Cyclamen aquatic floral base fragrance to my nose. It is pleasing to wear but like.. I can't differentiate this to other aquatic floral scent floating in the market. It smell quite smiliar to Jo Malone offering imho. 7/10 but like for the cost, USD85 it is a little bit abusive.

Shower gel, but good enough in its category. It might be the best in this whole experiment. It has a nice drydown. With this line, I feel the brand was throwing stuff on the wall and see what sticks! This one was their take on generic freshie. However, it’s not bad for what it is in terms of scent profile. Performance is ok-ish.

I love the cherry blossom opening, it honestly smells so beautiful, but as it dried it became more powdery in a way that felt a bit mature to my nose. They dry down reminded me of a fragrance my aunt used to wear from Avon for years, Beautiful on her, but not necessarily something that I would return to.

It smells very light, young and like spring in a bottle. Although the scent is very light, is lasts for ages. However, this perfume smells very average and I really do not think this is worth the high price tag

It smells like many things out there, which are all significantly cheaper than this one. It's not a bad smell, but it's a basic one. Not at all unique.

This opens up with the lipstick and powder in my granny's makeup bag when she was still around. Not in a derogatory way. I mean that lovingly; I fucking adored Granny and playing in her makeup. She always wore the best perfume, a lot that I wear today. She was petite and tiny, had teased, bleach-blonde hair, and looked half her age. When Granny was young she had a big bouffant like Priscilla Presley and even turned down a record deal in country music to stay with her children. So Granny didn't actually smell like her makeup bag, I just love that waxy-powdery scent and the memories attached to it. I'm not picking up on a lot of cherry blossom, just a tad in the opening. The drydown is where it loses me. I love florals, especially cherry blossom, but this combination of notes makes me a little nauseous. I usually love a powdery, lipstick floral, but the drydown here gets weird. There’s a strange citrus note peeking out, almost like floor cleaner. The powder gets too dusty and cloying. Dream Dusk starts out beautiful and nostalgic, but the rest doesn’t quite land for me, and the longevity isn’t great either. I think I’m just more of a Pleasures enjoyer. Granny wore Pleasures😏. Thanks for the downvotes. I'll throw you another zinger: It's overpriced and generic. Enjoy smelling like you doused yourself in a vat of Coty airspun powder. That's your prerogative.

Dream Dusk is my final Estée Lauder luxury perfume to try, and unfortunately it is easily my least favourite. I don't enjoy aquatic florals at the best of times, and this smells dull and cheap, like a synthetic air freshener or shampoo. DD opens with watery peony; synthetic, thin and sweet. A thin, aquatic fruity note follows, hardly making an improvement on the opening. It is screechy and harsh here despite its subtlety. It becomes powdery as it develops, with a distinctive cherry blossom note emerging. It remains thin and synthetic. There is a hint of green in the base, perhaps thanks to the geranium note, and it becomes musky as it fades, still sweet and aquatic. Sillage and longevity are moderate. DD is a feminine spring/summer day scent if you're (somehow) into this kind of thing. A damp squib from beginning to end, DD is utterly disappointing. No luxury here. As dull as ditchwater. 1/5.

From 8th WONDERS: I think this perfume smells nice, but, it's a big NO for me, because I got an instant astma of it.

Only Bought this at the Estée Lauder counter to get the cosmetic bag gift set and regretted it . Too screechy and lipsticky , not sure if it’s from the cherry blossom but don’t like it so will let it go .

I've tried all the samples in this range and they're all Way too masculine for my liking. I much prefer feminine, sweet scents. It's a shame, as I always liked the longevity and quality of ES and have bought loads from them over the years. I'm going to have to defect to a different brand unfortunately.

In opening, this smells so classy, elegant and luxurious, you get such a rich feel of cherry blossom but then suddenly it gets toxic, becomes unbearable. Why? The scent was supposed to remain as it is and gives us that pleasurable feels throughout but it changes in minutes and gets disgusting!

This instantly brought to mind two similar fragrances that have black currant leaf or fruit: Daphne Bouquet by Penhaligon's, and Jo Malone's Blackberry and Bay. These latter alternatives both feature a very green leaf note of some kind, but Dream Dusk is least green and most floral.

Smells like a cheap, and old-fashioned aquatic fresh floral scent. I don't like the top part, the dried down is a powdery cherry blossom, and it smells like shampoo or soap.

Soapy vintage rose with hint of cherry blossom. Agree with others that it has that lipstick/cosmetic smell.

It’s giving me Versace Crystal Noir the EDT and it’s stronger. However, I like Dream Dusk better... 🤷🏻♀️
